❤57❤ - Hurting Words
Sona was flustered. She was again angry at him for no reason. How dare he tease her? Frowning at the washroom, she thought to herself. Was she really pmsing?
But then her eyes widened at the thought of his words again.
When was the last time she had her period?
-----------------------
Dev came out from the washroom after a warm shower. Walking outside, he saw Sona still wide awake in her side of the bed. She was hugging her knees close to her chest and biting her nails nervously.
"Hey sunshine... not sleepy?" he wiggled his eyebrows playfully.
"No....um, actually there's uh-"
"What?" Dev asked.
"Um....I...actually...hmm...nothing." she shrugged and stretched her legs on the bed. Dev looked at her with narrowed eyes.
Lying down the bed, she watched the ceiling in a daze. She was really scared. Why did she miss her period? Was it due to the stress or.....pregnancy? She knew her body quite well. Her periods were never late before. But now, it's been more than a week late. Fear engulfed her. Of course they had made love a few times without protection......but she didn't think about the consequences then..... The more she pondered, the more her fears increased.
Being a medical student, she knew all the symptoms of pregnancy. But she couldn't be sure without doing any tests. Her body was aching and unknowingly her hands caressed her stomach.
Her eyes widened. Biting her lips hard, she tossed and turned in the bed.
She didn't want to face a pregnancy soon. Her mind boggled up to all the possible situations. She had seen her mother killing her baby in her womb. Painful pregnancy scenarios played inside her mind. She didn't like it. It felt like someone was suffocating her. She wasn't even sure if she wanted to tell Dev.
Soon she felt the bed sink behind her.
"Sona...." Dev's voice was low and deep. She felt his hands slowly stroking her bare thighs.
"W-what?" she stammered as he slowly pasted his hard body against her back.
She could already feel the air around them getting hotter. She looked over her shoulder and realised that Dev had slipped inside the blanket without his shirt. As usual.... She rolled her eyes playfully at that thought.
"It's been five days now" he bit her earlobes seductively.
"Seriously.... Are you going to count every day now, Dev?" she sighed and craned her neck to look behind at him.
"Oh well, I am a guy.......and I have my needs. I can't help it Sona. And currently this is the only thing running inside my mind. So far, I have survived five days without this..." he pouted, making Sona shake her head in dismay.
Without caring about her protests, he traced the curve of her waist with his fingers. Lifting the hem of her shirt, he placed his hands inside and traced her undies. Sona's breathing hitched when she felt his fingers lifting her mini-shorts slowly.
"Devvvv" she warned.
"Come on love, I need my shirt back" he gave an evil smile as he looped his hands around her waist and slowly unbuttoned her shirt buttons.
"No! First of all, go and wear your shirttt....Ow" she squealed when she felt his fingers entering her shorts.
"Oh god, Dev. Stopppp" she chuckled as his other hand, tickled her navel.
"Stop what? I am just asking my shirt back. Did I say you can wear my shirt? Come on, strip" he spoke dominatingly while continuing his naughty tickles on her.
"What will I wear then" she panted once his fingers paused its tortures.
"Hmm.....How about.... Not wearing anything?" he winked. She turned around and gawked at him.
"Gosh, can you get your mind out of gutter!" she laughed, trying to dodge his advances, but the more she tried, the more he came closer to her.
"Devvvv, what happened to your side of bed?" she huffed, pushing her hair to the back.
"My side? Oh come on, my side is where my wifey is. My side is your side and your side is mine" he blabbered, closing all the distances between them.
She was now pushed to the edge of the bed while Dev was pasted behind her, leaving a huge space on the bed behind him.
"Dev, not today...." she moaned as his hands were again under her shirt.
"I can't jaan. Especially if you're wearing such things, I can't help but be curious about what's underneath this shirt." He whispered huskily, kissing her down her neck.
His hands were already squeezing her waist possessively. Without any delay, he lifted himself and hovered her tiny frame. Securing her hips in a place, he brought the blanket and covered them up till their waist.
"Come on baby.... I don't think I can wait any longer." He whined, and Sona just looked at him with pleading eyes. As much as she wanted to please him, she also wanted to clear a few doubts with him. But the way he looked at her proved that he wasn't up for any conversations.
"No Dev....Actually...." she hesitated, placing her palms on his naked chest.
"What?" he pouted, making Sona stifle her smile. He was really adorable whenever he demanded something and was made to wait for. Just like a small kid, he would use all the cute banters to melt her heart.
"Um...It's just that, we haven't been using any protection before...b-before..this.....right?"
"You mean, the times we had sex?" he gave a mischievous grin.
"Uh...yea" she turned herself, hiding her crimson-coloured face.
"So far nope.......Not that I know of." he answered casually and kissed her cheeks.
"I mean.....what if.....Um, what if-"
"I impregnate you? Is that what you want to ask?" his breath fanned her face as her voice got choked at the back of her throat.
She didn't know he could be so blunt and straightforward. Talking to him about such things just made her feel butterflies in her stomach. She didn't know how normal couples even had this kind of conversations casually.
"Dev...It's actually...."
"It's okay Sona. So far, I haven't thought about it and you shouldn't as well. Just let it go in a flow. I didn't find a need to use protection. Because with you, everything felt right. You are my wife and not some random girl..... Plus, I just didn't think of it. Anyways, why are you asking this suddenly?" He caressed her face while she looked at him with wide eyes.
"Um...No, I am just curious...What if I suddenly g-get p-pregnant?" she asked breathlessly, awaiting his reply.
But when she asked the question, his face instantly brightened. She could see the corner of his lips lifting into a smile when she spoke about pregnancy. That's when she knew that his reply wasn't something she was expecting. Her worst fears were coming true.
"That would be a great news babydoll..... don't you think so?" he beamed, making her gulp painfully.
"But Dev.... Your career, image, life... Are you even ready for a family? I mean, you haven't even announced our wedding in public. And all this-"
"Jesus, you should just calm down sweetheart. Leave all that to me. A child in the house is more special than my career, image and whatever.... because all that are lifeless assets. They are temporary, and they don't love me. If you're expecting a child, then there wouldn't be a happier person than me in the house. Okay?" he smiled, cupping her face and kissing her forehead lovingly.
Blood drained from Sona's face. Her heart pounded against her chest so hard that she thought that it would break her ribs and rip apart her skin, leaving only the void in her heart.
"Dev.....but-" before Sona could complete, Dev interrupted her by placing a finger on her lips.
He broke the kiss and drew her closer to him. "No buts, now let's stop with all those thoughts and continue with what we started.... Okay?" he kissed her jawline.
Although Sonakshi wanted to stop and talk to him, his lips on her neck made her forget the words she was about to utter. His kiss was filled with love and desperation. A thin line between love and lust. His masculine scent intoxicated her mind and his sensual movements made the world around her disappear. He unbuckled his pants and threw it on the side of the bed.
"Devvv" she moaned as she felt his monstrous bulge positioned against her wet core.
One by one, their clothes were discarded on the floor. He caged her hands on top of her head and kissed from her stomach to her breasts.
From there on, everything was passionate, intense and rough. It was his release, her escape and his drug. Her toes dug on the mattress as his thrusts were slow and intoxicating. Their breaths rose in visible puffs. The dirty talks that were whispered against her ears, never failed to bring her over the edge every single time.
Moving against each other desperately and growling between the passionate kisses, he found her soul that he was looking for. Completely having the control over her body, he sensed the proximity between their emotions.
The souls mingled in the quiet moments between action and stillness. The cold room already felt warm, making it hard to hold back and make the moment last. Caught between the intoxication of the climax and trying to extend the moment that they never wanted to end, they prolonged the night for another few hours.
---------------------------
Laying down in the breezy night, they drank the silence after their passionate moments. Trying to catch their breaths, Sona held the blankets close to her chest. Her mind was still in a daze, trying to climb down from the powerful orgasm that her body went through.
"Sona..." Dev's voice was as soft as he turned around and pulled her closer.
"Hmm..." she hummed as she felt his hands caressing her body under the blankets.
Moving closer, she hugged him tightly and placed her head on his chest. Hearing his hammering heartbeat, she drew patterns against his biceps while waiting for him to speak. His arms were the safest place she could ever think off. All her worries left as soon as he cuddled her closer.
"When I was young.........I have always wanted a sister. I just love small little girls..... I always had a soft corner for them during my childhood. But sadly, I never had a sister then. So, I have secretly always desired for a beautiful daughter. I have never told this to anyone.... But telling this to you right now, feels so phenomenal." He smiled.
"Oh..." Sona didn't know what to say.
She felt a small corner blooming for him. He was really a child at heart. His confession was heart felt. This was the first time he was opening up to her about something in his life. But the situation was so messed up, and she didn't feel the excitement at all.
Although she didn't see his face, she could feel him smiling while he spoke to her. She was thankful that he wasn't able to see her. Because if he had seen her expressions, he would have immediately known that she was upset. And she didn't want to hurt him like that.
"I have even thought of names for our baby you know." He lifted her chin and brushed his nose with hers.
Sonakshi face changed, but she tried her best to maintain her hurt look.
"What are the names?" she asked while swallowing the heavy lump on her throat.
"If it's a boy, then Darsh. If it's a girl......then I want her to be exactly like you. So....." he dragged.
"So?"
He cupped her face and looked at her intently.
"Simran" he whispered.
Sona felt like the whole world had slipped beneath her. Her heart dropped to her stomach as she heard him utter the name in her ears. Her body reacted like there was an animal about to beat the crap out of her. Sweat beads broke on her forehead.
One name, thousands of memories..... The name that she had been avoiding her whole life. The name that gave life to her. How did he know? Why? A lone tear slipped out of her eye.
She missed her mother.
-------------------------
Sunlight penetrated through her blinds as Sona folded her cloths and cleaned the room. The room was such a mess after their fiery night. But she had no complaints. Tiredly, she forced herself to pick up the scattered cloths from the floor. She didn't know where Dev had gone early in the morning. He had just left a note that he was out to get breakfast.
Cleaning the room after an hour, she felt fatigue in her limbs. A sudden dizziness clouded her vision, making her slump on the bed. She was extremely tired and could feel her legs trembling in weakness.
Just then, Dev walked in with a bunch of bags. Placing it in her front, he smiled widely and winked at her. His was so ecstatic and she couldn't seem to point out the reason of his sudden cheerfulness.
"Hey sunshine.... I bought for you these clothes. Hope you can fit into them... I have lots of job these few days. So I knew I wouldn't be able to shop much after work. That's why I had to rush early morning. Hope you like them" he smiled and pecked her lips.
"Dev.... I was just kidding last night. You didn't have to..." Sona sighed tiredly as she looked at him with worry lines.
"Oh come on darling. This is the least I could do okay? And I am getting late now. Let me shower and come back!" he smiled and quickly ran to the bathroom.
Sona felt the pit on her stomach. She looked at the bunch of bags and exhaled. Why was he so sweet? Dev always looked into her needs without her saying it. She didn't even need to tell him what's lacking. He was always one step ahead in checking what she wanted. Shoes, cloths, toiletries, medicines and even her undergarments. She wished the earth could just swallow her. It was truly embarrassing.....but sadly, it was one of the most important need of hers'.
Money wasn't a problem. But her health wasn't good and she was not allowed to go out from her house for the past few weeks. She was just thinking of how to ask her grandmother for help to buy these things. But now, Dev had ended all her miseries.
Everything she had now, was all his. She felt guilty because she knew that she could never provide him with so much of things.
Sitting down on her bed after a warm shower, she thought about all the symptoms she had been seeing since morning. Her breasts were swollen, and her mood swings were so horrible. She had been craving so many things and it didn't feel normal. The moment she felt the lower back pain, she gritted her teeth in anger. She felt like screaming out loud and expressing her displeasure to someone.
She didn't want to be pregnant!
She was disappointed at her own self. Why couldn't she be happy like the others? Dev was still inside the shower and she was thinking of million ways to tell him about what she was feeling.
She just couldn't put her feelings into a sentence. She couldn't even feel angry at anyone. She would be damned if she blamed Dev for pregnancy because she knew that she had equal part in everything. It was unfair to put a blame on one person. But the irritation just chewed her brains.
After a few minutes, Dev walked out of the washroom and frowned at Sonakshi. He had noticed Sona's unusual behaviours since last night. But as usual, he didn't want to pry too much on her personal things. However, the look on her face now, suggested something more serious.
"Sona...... what's wrong with you? Why are you sitting like this? Your hair is wet...and you're not even drying it. Look," he walked closer and took the towel from the chair. Walking over to her, he gently wrapped the towel around her wet hair and brushed it.
Sona just sat with a numb look. Her face showed no expressions. She was just gazing at the wall infront of her, ignoring Dev's words. Dev was agitated with the way she was behaving since morning. She had quietened down ever since he talked to her last night. He was actually regretting his idea of taking her mother's name. Maybe he shouldn't have said that. His eyes softened as he saw her lost in deep thoughts. It really worried him.
"Sona, I have lots of work today. Maa called me so many times last week.... She's been pestering be about returning back to London. I am trying my best to finish the work as soon as.........Sona.....baby are you listening?" he suddenly called when he heard no reply from her.
"Sonakshi," he repeated, removing the towel from her hair, "What's wrong with you? I had noticed that you are not yourself since last night. Anything bothering you?" he touched her shoulders and finally, she looked up.
When her eyes met his, he inhaled a sharp breath. Her eyes revealed a mixture of anger and disappointment.
"You want to talk to me?" he gulped, sensing her unusual anger.
"I am late." She closed her eyes painfully. Dev's face scrunched in confusion. Late?
"Huh?"
"My period is late..." she repeated again and this time, his eyes widened in realisation.
A look of shock crossed his face. Was this the reason she talked about pregnancy last night? His heart skipped a beat as an insane pleasure boomed into his heart. Although he tried to maintain his composure, his face gave away the tiny bit of his joy he was trying to hide.
But one look at Sona, he knew something wasn't right. She looked like she was going to burst out into tears anytime.
"Ohhh....um...Okay. Have you-"
"I didn't confirm yet. And I want to confirm it Dev. But I feel scared.....I do have an issue about this....." she looked up and tears brimmed in her eyes. Dev swallowed the lump in his throat.
She suddenly stood up and walked closer to him. Placing her hand on his chest, she gulped and thought carefully about how she was going to tell this to him.
Every step she took, made Dev nervous. He couldn't understand what the problem was. Was she facing any complications? If she was, he mentally vowed that he would be there to support her all the time. He mentally prepared for the worst. Maybe, she was scared of pregnancy, he thought. Did she not trust him still?
"What's the problem jaan? I am here for you na.... Don't worry. You don't have to think too much about the procedures.....It will be all fine. We will go and get it checked today. Let me talk to Arjun first and schedule an appointment, okay?" He picked up his phone, but Sona's next words just made his entire happiness drown in the drain.
"I want to abort....If I am pregnant."
Dev felt like the time had stopped. It was as if the impact of her words had knocked every wisp of air from his lungs, making him unable to breathe any longer. The phone from his hands just slipped away, as soon as those words left her lips.
After a long time, he felt like a part of him was breaking.
Reality hit him hard. She didn't want a child at all. How did he not guess this? Abortion? Really? That's what she had been thinking all this while? Out of so many things, he couldn't believe that those words came from Sona. The girl whom he loved to the moon and back.
Sona looked at the phone on the ground. Her heart shattered thousand times more as she analysed the broken look on his face. She never wanted to do this..... Never.
"A-ab....abortion?" he choked on his own words.
"Dev, I am not ready for a child yet.... This is all too fast. I can't do this, please. You got to understand my situation..... It's not that I don't want a child. I want it too, but not now. I want to complete my studies first. Having a child now would compromise my studies, Dev. No matter what people say, I know it wouldn't be easy to go through this. I already missed half a semester in India..... If I go back, I need to re-take the sem, which makes everything much more complicated. Please..." she held his hands, but he immediately shrugged it off.
"Have you......already d-decided this?"
"Yes Dev....I don't know what else can be done.... I just can't go ahead. I have a doubt and I am not hundred percent sure... But I am just saying.......if I am pregnant....." she paused and gulped again. "I don't want to continue this pregnancy."
When she looked at Dev, his face had paled. He bent down and gathered his distorted phone in his hands. When he looked back at her, Sona was taken aback.
Her eyes widened as she looked at bruised expression. He just gave her the look of pure hatred. No longer could she see that joy, that desire, that fire in his eyes. All that remained was the deceiving hollow soul that reflected in the tear-stained glassy orbs. A look which she had never seen before. His brown eyes lost their calmness, becoming rounder and glossier. A look of betrayal crossed his orbs. Then all at once his face buckled, eyes closed, and his breathing stopped momentarily.
When he opened those eyes again, all the emotions which swirled inside a moment ago was gone. It was replaced by the cold, harsh look again. It almost made him look inhuman. Sona was shocked at how easily he masked his emotions in a second.
She wanted to give justice to her statement. But without a word, he just walked out of the room. Sona was flabbergasted. She didn't know what she could do to make this better. Digging her fingers in her hair, she pulled it in frustration. She knew....she screwed up!
Walking out nervously, she looked at Dev having his breakfast in silence. Her grandparents looked happy while they conversed with him. But he only replied them with one word. Sona hesitantly sat down next to him. But the next moment, he just woke up and walked away like her closeness burnt him.
"I am feeling full Dadi. I will wait for Sona in the car..." he smiled half-heartedly and walked away.
Dadi looked at Sona with narrowed eyes. "Did you guys have any tiff? Why is Dev so upset Sona?"
"Nothing Dadi....He just has lots of work...." She spoke and quickly gobbled the food from the table. Finishing up her breakfast in a hurry she rushed to his car which was parked in the entrance.
"Dev-"
"Fasten your seatbelt." He cut her off and started the car.
The car ride was deadly silent. Sona felt her insides shaking with fear. She hated his anger the most. Usually when he was angry, he would just blast off at her. But today, he didn't do anything like that. Instead, he just kept silent and avoided talking to her at all.
His arms were tensed, and muscles bulged when he was driving. Before she even knew it, he turned the car with full speed, making her body hit hardly against the door. Luckily, she was wearing her seatbelt. Or else she was sure she would have flown away.
"Dev.... Please drive slowly. I am scared...." She fumbled but he didn't even listen.
"Dev, I am sorry.....please understand...."
"Save it Sona. I don't have anything else to talk to you. Since you have taken all the decision for yourself, I don't think I need to interfere in your life."
"It's not like that Dev-"
"THEN WHAT SONAKSHI?" he yelled, making Sona wince. "Abortion was your decision. Not mine. You just make it sound like I got nothing to do with your pregnancy.... Do I have at least some kind of importance in your life? You never considered asking for my opinions, did you? You know what? Just forget it........" he shook his head and faced the road.
Sona was dumbfounded. Hurting him wasn't her intention. She was just bad at words... she wished that she had some best friend to talk about her worries. But there was no one there for her. Dev had misunderstood her words. Of course, he had a say in everything. But the fact that she really wasn't ready for pregnancy, had messed up her mind.
"Dev I think there's a misunderstanding..... I didn't mean it like that" she pleaded as she bit her lips to control her tears.
"We have reached Sona. Go now!" he said halting the car in the entrance of a hospital.
She looked at the hospital and glanced back at him. She didn't want to go inside alone. She regretted telling him so soon. There were chances that she wasn't even pregnant at all. She shouldn't have said anything to him!
Taking his hands in hers, she pulled him with her. "Dev, we can talk about this inside. Please, come inside with me" she spoke in a whisper. Jerking his hands away, he held the steering wheel tightly.
"Go in. I will be there in a while" he said in a cold tone.
Sona walked down from the car. Getting inside, she registered her details in the counter and waited to see the doctor. Dev was still not there. More than her check-up, she was more concerned about Dev now. Fumbling with her fingers, she kept looking at the entrance anxiously.
Dev leisurely walked in, talking to someone over the phone. When he was near Sona, he ignored her and kept talking to Arjun. Sona understood his anger and just kept quiet. She was grateful that he followed her till the room at least.
When she was called in by the doctor, she looked at Dev. But he wasn't even willing to move.
"Dev..." Sona placed her hands on his shoulders.
"I am not coming in. If you want, go and get checked." He snapped at her.
-----------------------------
Dev looked over the railing, lost in his own thoughts. He was really sad. After a long time, he felt himself crumbling down into pieces. He couldn't understand the reason behind the pain. It wasn't just because of Sona's words. It was something more than that. She wasn't even sure about her pregnancy.... Yet, she decided to take such a huge decision without consulting him. He was hurt.
He tried talking to Arjun and distracting himself. But that didn't work too.
Hearing his voice only made Arjun worried. Arjun was already on his way to the hospital. He definitely knew something was wrong with the way Dev, when he spoke over the phone. While waiting for Arjun, Dev felt the void in his heart returning back.
His quickly took out the small diary that he hid inside the car.
Clutching it close to his heart, he took out his phone and called his mother. When the ring seized, and his mother's voice was heard, Dev inhaled a deep breath.
"Dev?" Asha spoke eagerly. She was so impatient to listen to his voice after many days.
"M..mm...maa" his voice broke.
Asha's eyes widened, and heartbeat fastened. That was the first time she heard him sound so vulnerable. This could not be her son..... Not the one whom she knew.
Opening the diary, Dev read the first lines he could spot from the book.
"In my weakness.....I found strength" he bit his cheeks to stop himself from sounding so hurt but he couldn't hide his inner turmoil from his mother.
Asha felt her heart momentarily stopping with every word of his. She could read the emotions in his voice even without seeing his face.
"Dev...." She gasped as words left her. She had no idea what was happening on the other side and that just made her more worried. It was a torment to hear him speak like that.
"All along I was turning outward, expressing love to the world in the hope of some coming back.......... I offered my heart, my soul and my everything to heal others. In the end, I thought......everything was about who I have lifted up! Yet what they saw was my wounded side. It was taken advantage off to push me further away" Dev felt a tear dropping in the paper, blocking the words written in the book.
By now Asha was already in tears. She bit the back of her palms from crying out loud. After all, she knew those phrases by heart.....more than anyone else could remember them. She didn't know what to say. She was dumbstruck. Her eyes stung with tears and she wished she was near Dev, to give him a hug.
Wiping his eyes with his finger, Dev continued reading slowly, "Often in life I have been called strong. Though I know it's a compliment, my heart sinks and there is a wave of sadness flowing though my heart whenever I hear someone saying it. After all, I am only human, and I deserve something in return, don't I? Your sufferings and actions are like a piece of candy wrapped by glass shards. The tighter I hold on to it, the deeper it will cut. But I don't want to leave it as well.....So perhaps I should hold on to it tightly till it cuts my heart." Dev clenched his eyes shut as he couldn't seem to continue further.
"Dev............. Don't say that please." Asha cried as she heard silence on the other side. The last thing she wanted to know, was how screwed up Dev's life was. She wasn't prepared....
"Maybe....maybe one day, I wish I could hold you in my arms and tell you how my heart has always waited for you.......and how it always gets tired too....." he finished reading the last line, before dropping the book on the floor.
Asha couldn't have understood better. She already understood his turmoil without him saying much. It was obvious from his tone. She sensed that something grave should have happened to have cut his emotions so deeply.
"My body and heart weren't made for this maa.... I feel exhausted" His voice broke and his eyes welled up. He hated this moment. He just despised sounding so weak infront of his mother. He angrily took the book from the floor and wiped his tears aggressively.
"Dev please don't-"
"No maa..... Don't. Just once, you know........ I want someone to stay up all night and think about me. Love me immensely....Just once! I am just genuinely tired of all this fucked up things that's happening around me!" he huffed.
"Just once? Come on Dev, you know how much I love you..... I am always here thinking about you. There's nothing more important to me than you.... You know that right?" Asha spoke in a calm tone. She pushed her sorrows to the back of her mind and sounded as strong as possible.
She wanted to be there for him. Just like how he was always there for her, she wanted to affirm him that she would be there for him too. He was her world.... He just didn't realise it yet. Or maybe there wasn't much opportunity for her to express it to him.
"Dev, you're listening na?"
"Maa...." He shook his head tiredly.
"Your mother loves you a lot Dev. The entire London loves you... You are a star. My shining star! You are special to me Dev.... So special that I have not given your place to anyone in my heart. Not even your brother.....You are my jaan. My darling. You made me a proud woman today. A proud mother.... There's not a single moment where I have stopped thinking about you..... What else do you need?"
Dev felt his heart lightening up. His soft lips stretched into a smile, but it didn't reach his dark eyes. They were still lit with sadness.
"Dev, you know something.... When your father died, I could have died with him as well.....But you were there for me all the time. You are the reason why I am here today. You carried me in your strong heart. I was motivated to live, only because of the strength you gave me" she spoke as she heard him listening quietly.
"Till now, I have never seen a strong person like you Dev. Despite being chased by the worst nightmares, you didn't turn out like the cruel, cold-hearted person whom I had feared. You have the most beautiful heart. Probably the most beautiful one I had ever seen" Asha smiled as she spoke with pride.
"Yea right...." Dev spoke playfully as he just rolled his eyes at his mother's words.
"Listen carefully Dev.... In life, you don't get to choose whom you fall in love with. But when you do, it may be with a person who is all wrong and right at the same time.....True love can be passionate, incredible, complicated and painful. But most importantly, the feeling is real. It teaches us patience yet ticks off our anger too.... and this fact, can just drive you insane to a point where no one can explain it." She chuckled.
"Yea.... Love is just as confusing as that" Dev sulked.
"The reason it's so confusing is because, it's love. Love comes with lots of challenges Dev. It's all about the struggles you have gone through and still developing into a strong and beautiful person....... Just like you" she said, making Dev smile sadly.
"Uhuh...."
"Trust me Dev.... If you aren't strong, then I don't know what strong is"
