❤47❤ - His Reasons
"I know it's tough for you to listen to all this.....but please, can you give me a chance?..... A chance to explain myself?"
----------------------------------
Sona turned around and gazed at his face for a good ten minutes. She didn't speak anything to him. She gave him a blank look, with a mixture of disgust and fear. However in reality, she was genuinely afraid of his presence in the room. Managing to cover her expressions with a blank look, she inhaled a deep breath.
"Sona...please talk something. I know I have done so many wrong deeds, but don't I deserve a chance?" he softly whispered.
"You don't deserve any chance....So stop trying." She said with a firm voice.
"I will not stop trying regardless of what you say. I won't go before you hear me out. At least ask something na! Please, don't take another decision you would regret. I know you are hurt.... But you will regret lifelong if you don't know the whole truth."
"Why should I give you any chance?................. and wait... why are you suddenly asking me permission? Did you ask my permission before loving me? Did you ask permission before marrying me? Did you ask permission before sending me over here? No right? Then why now? Why?" she stared at him accusingly while a lone tear dripped down her cheeks.
"Sona, everything which happened back there was not the whole truth... of course I had made you helpless and forced you into situations. But if hadn't done that, then you would have been in a worse situation today!"
"Yea you are always right! And I am wrong..... Till this minute, you have never regretted anything you have done Mr Sharma."
"It's Dev for you!" Dev retorted.
"Not anymore. You are officer Dev Sharma! Nothing else." She looked down and weeped silently.
Dev gaped at her. For once, there were no words coming out from his mouth. He looked at her silently while she sobbed. There was no way he could explain anything to her in the given mindset. She was too reluctant to listen to anything. Convincing her was a big task.
"You hid your profession to me! You were a liar. Cheater! You are no better than Abhi.... He cheated me with Natasha while you betrayed me by faking your identity. It's not a big difference after all...... you lost all my trust the moment you gave me away like a piece of object to those guys" her shoulders shook as fat tears rolled over her cheeks.
"Yea...... I lied to you about my profession." Dev stated with a firm tone, "But no one knows it either. I am not supposed to talk about my profession to anyone! It wasn't just you... it's an order I have to follow!"
"I could have been raped!" she screamed and Dev was tongue-tied.
"Sonakshi, I tried my best to do whatever I could to save you on time. I know there were lots of risks associated with this but-"
"But you had no right to take such liberties with me. You married me! Made use of me! How can a government officer take such decisions? I CAN SUE YOUR ENTIRE TEAM FOR THIS!" her voice raised as she held an accusing finger at him.
"Ok fine..." he sighed, raising his hands in surrender. He leisurely sat on the floor and looked at her with a mixture of emotions.
"It's all my fault. Yes, I made a huge mistake. Let's rewind back the time and let me think what I should have done............ Number one, I shouldn't have fallen in love with you. The maybe, you would have been married to Abhi, and then he would have betrayed you as usual. Or else, second option..... he would have been killed by your father's men and you would have been kidnapped by the same monsters either way." he said blankly, making her stunned.
Her tears stopped as she looked at him with hurt. Was he here to point out all her flaws and mistakes from the start?
However, Dev didn't stop there. He continued, "Maybe I shouldn't have married you forcefully..... If I hadn't married you that day, then today you would have easily became Karthik's wife. Your mother's property would have been transferred to your father in just a second. After the transaction is done, either Karthik would have raped and murdered you or...... Sanjay would have killed you, without even bothering whether you are his daughter or not. Isn't that what you want?"
Sona's eyes widened as she looked at him with bated breath. She felt her chest tightening into a knot like a cramp and a quiet rage building inside her. He couldn't be more right....
"Listen carefully Sona..... Today, the 'forced' marriage was what saved you from getting married to Karthik!" Dev spat as Sona flinched from his tone.
"Everyone say that I have used you for my mission..... But have you ever thought what was going through on my mind? Have you ever imagined what would have happened if we hadn't met? Do you think I was doing this for my own sadistic pleasure? More than the mission, your life was also extremely important to me. You were always my priority..... I had risked my position and work for your safety as well..... I was so desperate to save you..... Everyday! Every single day, hundreds of men had to work for me, just to keep you alive! Did you think I was having fun all this time?" Dev huffed with an edge of harshness in his tone.
"And....that's.....why.....you gave...me....away like....that....right?" she gulped as she looked at him with equal intensity.
"I didn't give you away...." He paused and looked down, trying to grasp for the right words, "I tried to save you. I planned the entire thing to protect you permanently. I had no other way.... Rather then, they kidnapping you unexpectedly....... I made them believe that I was giving you up for their money. But I made sure that I could save you alive in the next 24 hours..... I had all the necessary arrangements prepared earlier..."
"But it doesn't make any sense! You could have told me earlier?" Sonakshi blinked briny tears from her bloodshot eyes.
"If I had told you, you would never have gone there. I know it sounds stupid.....but if I hadn't given you away now, then they would have killed everyone around us and kidnapped you in the end either way...... And if that happens, no one could have helped you at that time. I could have used my power to destroy those men back in London. But my identity would have been revealed in that process and I could have never caught your dad red-handed. Even if I had protected you, how long could I have kept you away from your father? Maybe a year? Two years? You know.... Everytime when you are out of my house, there are a whole bunch of men behind you? Trying to kill you, harm you or kidnap you! What else could I have done?" Dev hissed as Sona shuddered from his tone.
"So now..... you are trying to put all the blame on me?" Sona asked as she wiped her tears.
Dev's eyes softened as he clutched his hair in frustration. He was really helpless and he had no idea how to explain it to her.
"No... I wasn't trying to blame you Sona....... I know what I did was wrong. Unforgivable....But I had no choice. It was a question between right or wrong....and I just did what I felt right." Dev spoke apologetically as his voice was strained, like he was going to break down any time soon.
"What do you mean you had no choice? You had a choice......." Sona whimpered.
"If I hadn't done that, then your father would never be caught.... Just imagine Sonakshi... now, you are free from all the troubles. You are a hero! You have no idea how many lives you have saved by sacrificing yourself there........" Dev inhaled a deep breath as he looked at Sona intently.
"Saved lives?" Sona gasped as she looked at him with shock.
"Yes.... You saved hundreds of lives by helping us to catch that psychotic criminal. Every minute this plan is delayed, a girl like you dies here. A girl like you is raped, tortured and murdered. Don't you think we hold the responsibility to save innocent people like you? There could be hundreds of 'Sona' out there who will be murdered tomorrow if Sanjay is free and alive" Dev moved closer to her and looked at her with sympathy.
His face was contorted in distress as he tried to move himself, so that he could get a good view of her face. Standing up from his place, he sat on the bed next to Sona and held her hands, which were rested on her lap. Sona's shoulders became rigid. Feeling the coldness from his fingers, she pulled her hand away from his and turned towards the wall.
"No.... I....that's not true....." She whispered as she looked down in denial. Her hands were trembling as she heard him unveil every truth. She couldn't stop crying. The pain burnt like an open wound. He was right about capturing Sanjay, but that didn't mean that she could forgive him so easily.
Dev moved forward and cupped her trembling face.
"If you think the pain you're going through is a lot......... then think about your mother's pain. Hundreds of mothers' who had went through that pain........ Don't you wish that you could save them some day?" he whispered and Sonakshi's eyes widened.
Sona remained silent as his eyes invaded hers' with lots of questions. Her heartbeat accelerated as she stared at him with worry.
"But why? Why me?" As much as she tried to hold it in, the pain came out like a cry from her throat.
"Sona.....I needed strong evidence to put your dad in jail. Two spies who had managed to enter your father's gang died a cruel death...." Dev said as Sona inhaled a sharp breath, "So...I didn't want to sacrifice another life unnecessarily. I wanted to send someone in....someone whose life won't be in danger." He gulped as he analyzed her face with every word spoken.
"So......you sent me there." she uttered more like a statement than a question.
"I know I have fucked up miserably. But think from my-"
"Who are you?" she interrupted immediately.
"Huh?"
"I asked.....who are you? What is your profession?" she asked as she released herself from his hold.
Dev gulped and looked around in the quiet room.
"I am an undercover cop.... It's complicated"
"Tell me everything now." she glared at him and Dev sighed. She wasn't going to leave it...
"After I took my degree...... I entered the police academy training with a strong goal. This job was everything that I have ever wanted. It gave me strength, power and intelligence. After a few years I got promoted to a better position while Arjun became my trainee. I worked as a uncover cop for a year. In my job, confidentiality is the most important factor. That's the reason why I kept lots of stuff away even from my mother.... Not because I was secretive. I wasn't supposed to share." He breathed heavily as Sona looked on curiously.
"Almost two years ago, I joined a singing contest...and surprisingly, it made me famous in a short span of time. Gladly, that celebrity status, only helped me to do my job better. No one suspected me as a cop, since I was always busy with my parties and royal dinners. I used my 'singer' image to cover the dark side of my life...." He paused.
"However, even after successfully handling many cases, I wasn't satisfied with my work...... until......."
"Until?" Sona grew nervous.
"Until about a year ago, when drug smuggling cases started increasing in London. I started growing curious and took up those cases. When the case was analyzed deeply, we realized that your father Sanjay Agarwal was behind all this illegal smuggling. Of course there were a few big shots behind him......but he was the most dangerous person I have ever come across. That's when the fire inside me lit and burnt higher." Dev's eyes grew darker as he mentioned Sanjay's deeds. His tone was menacing and jaws clenched in anger.
"Why didn't you catch him then?" Sona swallowed heavily.
"I badly wanted to. Capturing him and destroying him had been my only dream....... Everything was falling in place but we had no solid evidences to proof that Sanjay was behind this. Everytime we managed to nab something, someone would own up or surrender by their own. No matter how much we strived, proof was what the department needed..... So I started working with the Interpol officers and CBI to gather information about your family............"
"Is that the reason for you to target me?" Sona's tone rose.
"No. Initially, you weren't even in the picture. But when I received the information that you were coming to London, things became easier. Initially, when I met you, I didn't even know that you were the 'Sonakshi Agarwal'. When I came to know about it, I was hell-shocked! I hated anything to do with your father....but when I looked at you, I just couldn't help my get myself attracted to you.... You were nothing like what I had expected. You were innocent and naïve. You were just....different....." Dev smiled faintly as he gazed at the wall behind her.
"Maybe that was what attracted me to you badly...... Arjun had warned me to stay away from you. But I just couldn't. I made friends with Natasha so that I could meet you..... Soon, meeting you became my addiction without even me knowing it. I had people escorting you in college. And that's how I found out about Abhi.... The phone which I gifted you, had a tracking device in it too. Without even you knowing it, you were under our surveillance all the time." Dev spoke as Sona looked at him with horror.
"Are you serious?" she covered her mouth with her palms.
"Yes.... That's how I came to know about Karthik too. I knew Karthik was verbally torturing through phone calls. But I couldn't do anything directly to help you. I didn't want to create any suspicious on your mind at that time. I just-"
"ENOUGHHH" Sonakshi yelled as Dev stopped and looked at her alarmed.
"But Sona-"
"No Dev.....enough. I just can't handle this. All this information is just too much for me. I don't think I would be stable enough to understand your explanations right now. From your point of you, everything makes sense, but it's a lot more painful now then before.... I can't just accept it...just yet. Thinking about all these days....how I have been living in a web of lies makes me feel dumb! I FEEL SO WORTHLESS!" she sobbed making Dev panic.
"It's not how you think Sona...."
"No...Please leave me alone some time, Dev. You have no idea how hard it is for me to stop thinking about the days I had spent here. You have researched everything, made a perfect plan etc.....but maybe, maybe you didn't know the depth of tortures they would implement if you are caught. If you had known, then you would have never taken this decision you had taken now............." Sona's lips wobbled. Even as her lips trembled and shoulders heaved with emotion, unwilling to back down, Dev refused to look away.
"I could never imagine what you would have gone through Sona.....but it wasn't easy for me too." Dev bit his lips. His dark lashes moistened as his hands clenched into shaking fists, in a desperate battle against the grief.
"Well, every action has its consequences. I am so sorry but I've lost my trust on you Dev!" she wiped the tears escaping her eyes.
"Sona, I am sorry......please don't do this to me. I am nothing without you.... I know it's hard, but I can try to make up for all my mistakes..... You know that I love you! Love you so much..."
"I said these things to you before I came to India too." She chuckled sarcastically, "But now, you have broken your promise Dev.....just like you broke my heart. What if there's another mission, where you have to sacrifice me like this again? What guarantee can you give me that you wouldn't betray me once again?" Sona asked as Dev froze in his position.
As Dev looked into her eyes, he could feel her searching deep into his soul. Her gaze had the power to break him apart, inch by inch. He felt the sadness inside her eyes, replaced by emptiness and soon a dark grief.
"You know...I would never do that" Dev spoke, although he knew that his words were of no use.
Sona smiled sadly as she turned away from him.
"No......I seriously don't know who you are anymore"
-----------------------------
"Did you talk to Sona?" Arjun folded his hands.
"Yea....and she said she would never forgive me! Happy?" Dev snorted.
"Happy!" Arjun muffled his laughter as Dev him a sharp glare. He quickly took a few papers and threw towards Arjun.
"Woah....what's all this?" Arjun's eyes widened as he started reading the papers carefully.
"Dev.... What are you doing? Are you sure about all this procedures?" Arjun squinted his eyes and looked at the notice in his hands.
"Yea, I am going to seize Sanjay's properties and have it fully checked until we gather more evidences. I am sure we must be able to find something in his house...." Dev spoke while tying his shoe lace.
"Um yaaa......but, how long is this going to go on?"
"What do you mean?"
"I thought we were going to return back to London?" Arjun asked confusedly.
"No Arjun, there's still lots of unfinished work we have here. Until then, we will have to extend our stay here. I will talk to maa about it. Take care first..... if your help is needed, I will call you."
"But Dev-"
"Byeeee" Dev walked out before Arjun could reply him.
"Well, you have your wife here to entertain you! But me?" Arjun frowned, mumbling to himself.
-----------------------------
Sona grandparents were worried ever since Sona locked herself up inside the room. It was already past her breakfast time and yet, there was no response from her. Sona's grandfather had knocked the door several times, but all the response he got was just a low mumble.
Soon a loud clanking sound was heard, followed by the door being unlocked. Panic-driven, Sona's Dadi rushed inside the room and looked at the mess Sona had made inside. All the trays and medicines were scattered on the wooden floor while Sona's clutches was thrown to another side. Dadi looked at Sona with dread.
"Why aren't you up yet? Why are your clutches thrown here... you know you can't walk without them right?" Dadi chided while Sona just sat quietly in the middle of her bed.
"I will be fine... I just don't want them" she spoke in irritation.
"Sona, why are your eyes red? Did you sleep last night?" Dadi's eyes widened.
"Yea I did.... Just give me some time Dadi.... I will be fine!" Sona brushed off as refused to get up from the chair.
"No I can't leave you alone anymore. Get up Sonakshi! You need to have your breakfast first. And one more thing, Dev wants to bring you somewhere this afternoon. So you better finish up your breakfast fast." Dadi said, making Sona numb.
"What?...... Where?" she stammered.
"Who knows? He just told us that it's important. First get up..." Dadi said as she helped to lift Sonakshi from the bed and walk her till the washroom. When they reached, Sona winced as her hands hit the door slightly.
"It's okay Dadi, I will handle this from here..." Sona smiled and gently locked the door.
The moment she turned, the reflection on the mirror made her flinch in shock. The nausea swirled inside her empty stomach. Sona felt like something was eating at her chest, tearing its way to the trembling heart. Her once flawless face was now filled with scars, making tears brim in her eyes.
Her lips had a small cut in the corner, forehead had too many plasters and neck had a huge scar. There was a black eye fading on the right side. It wasn't too dark, but it was still visible enough to make her look like a cancer patient. Her left cheek was slightly swollen and face was distorted. Her heart constricted against her chest as she held the basin for support.
"I can never forgive nor forget anything Dev....... You have no idea what I had to go through...." She bit her fist to stop the cry from her mouth, while she leaned against the door and cried silently.
--------------------------------
"Uncle.... I am sorry. But it's getting late. Is Sona ready yet?" Dev asked as he kept glancing at his watch hastily.
"She should be coming down anytime soon...... just give her some time beta. She still has difficulties walking with that walking stick." Dadu explained in a worried tone.
"Umm..... can I go and help her?" Dev asked hesitantly as Dadu grew nervous. He immediately glanced at his wife, who reflected the same expression as his. They knew that it wasn't a wise decision to let Dev meet Sona. But after all, Dev was still her husband and they were unsure of getting between their personal fights.
"No Dev beta.... I don't think you should go there. She is extremely upset since morning. God knows what happened. Ever since she woke up, her mood is down. Maybe I shouldn't have told her the truth last night..." Dadi sighed heavily as Dev looked on.
"Ouh.....don't worry. She has to know it one day!" Dev answered flatly as he looked towards Sona's room.
"And one more thing," Dev looked at her grandparents nervously, "I would like to take Sonakshi with me alone... I have some personal issues to talk to her. So if you don't mind........." he dragged.
Dadu smiled. "Don't worry, we won't be following you guys anywhere....."
The moment the door opened, everyone went silent. Sona slowly walked out from her room with the help of the crutches. Her ribs were hurting and after the stitches and her hands couldn't grip the crutches well. She slightly winced at every step while she moved forward.
"Sona, let me help you...." Dadi walked forward.
"No Dadi, it's okay. Anyways, I don't think I can go out today. I am not feeling well......my legs are aching" Sona spoke as she stared at the ground beneath.
She didn't want to have any eye contact with Dev as she was afraid that if she did, then she would break down again. She just couldn't stand to see his face again. Every time she saw him, it reminded her of his betrayal. No matter how much she tried, she could never see him the same way she ever did.
But Dev wasn't afraid. His eyes were etched on her face ever since she walked out. Not even once, he blinked away. He looked at her like he was seeing her for the first time. His heart yearned for her to look at him. Even if it was for a few seconds.
"Excuse me Mr Sharma, can I don't come!" Sonakshi's voice brought him out from his thoughts.
"No....you have to be there. I will wait for you in my car." Dev spoke as he stood up from his place and walked out like a jerk.
His heart was thumping loudly against his chest. Everytime she called him formally, he felt a weird ache in his heart. The feeling was strange. Too familiar yet too strange. He never knew how to define it. It was like, he wanted to be normal, calm and composed with Sona's family but something inside him grabbed his heart and crushed it to pieces.
He wasn't at peace.
"Where are we going?" he heard Sona's voice as she was escorted by her grandmother to the car. Once she sat inside, she looked at him with the fire burning bright in her eye. Something which he used to have, but not anymore.
The look she gave him now, simply unnerved him.
"Your father's house." He replied and felt her body becoming rigid.
Even Sona's grandparents were shocked. They looked at Dev with questions and worry but Dev just gave them a firm nod, indicating that everything was good and sat in his side of the seat.
They hadn't expected Dev to be taking Sona to her home this soon. If there was a place Sona didn't want to visit, then it was her paternal house. Everything about that house was a nightmare to her.
Sona could recall every blow and burns she received in that house. All the memories never seemed to escape her. They were all piercing her skin like needles. She couldn't scream or fight back, she had to just endure the pain as the picture of Sanjay's face flashed through her mind. Her eyes turned red as she faced Dev.
"No......I am not coming there. No...no" she started shivering and lifted her hands up to get out from the car.
"Sona beta, please calm down. Don't panic...." Dadi said in a low tone. But Sonakshi was still traumatized. She quickly opened the door and took her crutches.
"It's important Sonakshi. You have a few procedures to finish and trust me, ouchh-" Dev stopped her by holding her wrist, but her mind was far gone from his words. She wasn't listening to anything he was saying. All her focus was on leaving the car, as she started hitting his hands.
"Sona, you are not going ANYWHERE!" Dev raised his tone, making everyone stunned.
"NO....NOOOOOOO I CAN'T. I can't come there.... Dadi.... Tell him. I can't go there please" Sona started crying and Dev clenched his eyes in frustration.
"Dev beta...." Dadu moved forward as he was depressed seeing Sonakshi's broken look.
"Don't worry uncle....please. It's my duty to bring her safely back.... She will be fine....Just trust me...." Dev asked desperately as both of them looked on helplessly.
Dev quickly moved forward and forcefully buckled her seat belt. Despite her hands trashing him, he managed to pull her back and lock the doors. Sona's grandparents were horrified with everything that was happening. Noticing their worried faces, Dev just smiled faintly at them and started driving the car.
Once the car started, her cries started to grow louder and louder. She started crying like her entire world had ended. Cries turned to wailings and Dev couldn't take it anymore. His grip on the steering grew tighter and knuckles turned white.
"For god's sake, can you stop crying? Why are you crying? What can you possibly achieve by crying? Your father's house is going to be seized and I need you there to sign a few property papers! I am actually doing you a favour by transferring all your mother's properties to you! Instead of feeling content, you are always crying! Is there something else you know other than wailing like a kid?" Dev spoke in irritation.
"No..no..no...I don't want to go there. Please leave me back at my grandma's home!" she cried harder.
Dev sighed and looked at her, "Please, Sona......Don't cry. It's just a small procedure. I can assure you that everything will be fine..."
"Did I ask you? Did I ask for my properties back? Those properties were the reason behind my mother's death! Who wants such a cursed property?" Sona retorted as her cries grew louder.
"No that's-"
"And yea, I will cry however and wherever I want! Because that's what I know and that's the only freedom I ever had since childhood. Freedom to CRY!" she hissed as she lowered her face into her palms and groaned painfully.
"I........I am sorry" Dev mumbled guiltily, but Sona was not interested in his apologies anymore.
Dev had to bear her painful cries until he reached her house. It wasn't easy for him to listen to her sobs throughout the journey too. Seeing her hurt, broke him even more than what he had expected a human body to endure. He tried to end her misery by doing at least something reasonable. But he couldn't find anything that would make her happy. Every time he tried, he ended up screwing himself badly.
He knew that he needed more patience!
When he reached her house, she was already exhausted from crying. Her face was swollen and eyes were red. The house was fully provided with police security, but Sona was still petrified. Fear was evident from her eyes. She clenched her palms into fists and sat upright. Her emotional traumas were slowly shredding her brain, bit by bit.
Dev walked out from the car, and opened her side of the door for Sona to step out. As expected, she wasn't willing to come out. She just sat back straight with a look of plea in her eyes. Dev moved forward and slowly unbuckled her seatbelt. Looking at her, he cupped her face tenderly and wiped her tears away.
"You'll be fine......I'm here with you" Dev kissed her forehead and felt her body go rigid.
"I don't want to go in..." she pouted as she was already out of breath from hours of crying.
Dev just sighed and lifted her off from the seat. He knew that if he let her continue with her complains, then there would never be an end.
"Get down Sona..." he cooed as he held her waist for support.
When she stood on her feet, she winced and slowly held on to his shoulder for support. She didn't want to hold him or the walking stick either. She knew that she could fall down and injure herself badly, if she refused his help too. So without any choice, she looped her arms around him and started walking.
"Nobody likes me there...." she moaned, leaning on him as he walked slowly, matching her pace.
"It's okay. I love you sunshine....and that's enough for now! No one will say anything."
"Coming here is a bad idea" she groaned.
"Why are you so worried when I am here with you?" Dev questioned curiously.
"I can't trust you with me anymore. What if you suddenly just leave me alone there? Or you may just give me away to someone..." she panted as they walked closer to the main gate. Dev decided to ignore her replies and proceeded to walk to the house. However, with the next few steps, the pain on her hips got worse and she immediately stopped him from walking further.
"I can't walk further...." She breathed heavily and without any delay, Dev scooped her up in his arms. Taken by surprise, Sona clutched his collars tightly and gaped at him.
"What the hell are you doing? this isn't London..... leave me Dev!" Sona struggled, but Dev held her tightly and walked inside like he owned the place. Sona felt goosebumps all over her body as he carried her inside the house. Placing her down on the nearest couch, he took out his phone and engaged himself in a call. Sona looked around nervously as she felt her own heartbeat pounding loudly against her chest.
Looking at the deserted house, she recalled how the place was before she left. She clawed at her own skin with bitten nails when she remembered those bitter tortures that she had to go through. She was disconnected from everything but the ever present sound of her drumming heart.
Just when Sona was about to get up, Rinitha and Jia walked down and gawked at the couple standing in the middle of the living room. Sona felt like her face was on fire. Rinitha's stare intimidated her as she recalled all those nasty things she had said before Sona had left to London.
After Sanjay was arrested, Rinitha and Jia were kept on a house arrest until certain procedures were completed. But Sona wasn't aware of anything. She just kept staring at them with fear, until Dev made his first move.
"Hi, I am Dev Sharma. Sonakshi's husband...... Not so glad to meet you. But unfortunately, we would be staying here until your husband gets the judgement he deserves" Dev smirked and spoke in an evil tone while Jia gawked at him.
"What the hell are you doing in my house? I have no place for this little piece of shit here! She's the reason for all our miseries! You bloody bitch. Get out! GET OUT, BOTH OF YOU!" Rinitha screamed, making Sona clench her eyes in fear. Even after so many years, her tone still scared the shit out of Sonakshi.
Dev rolled his eyes and moved closer to Sona. Placing all the documents on the table in front, he sat next to Sona and held her hand in a soothing way. Looking at Rinitha and Jia, he could already see how fucked up the family was.
"Well, sorry to say this. From now onwards, this house belongs to Sonakshi Agarwal...... ouh wait.... It's Mrs Sonakshi Sharma for you!" he said and heard loud gasps around him.
"What? Who said so?" Rinitha seethed angrily.
"The lawyers will arrive soon Mrs Rinitha! Please wait patiently......and in the meantime, I expect you two to respect my wife properly..... Let me warn you.....If you try anything funny, I wouldn't hesitate to throw you guys in jail to keep your dearest hubby and daddy some company!"
