Author's P.O.V
The blue hero slowly nodded at his girlfriend and grabbed her hand. He wasn't used to this and he didn't feel it was right but he pushed those feelings away. "Go ahead, I'll be there in a bit, Ames." He rubbed her hand then let go of it. "Tell Tails I'm fine." He waited for Amy to leave knowing he had to talk to Rouge and Shadow. 

“Absolutely disgusting.” Shadow mumbled lowly to himself and jumped down. “So, you believe us?” He crossed his arms, his nerves were slowly getting out of control. "We don't have all day so answer now."

Sonic rolled his eyes at this and nodded. "Amy thinks you're someone we can trust so I'll trust you." He looked at Rouge. "Will you help us? It seems that Amy really trusts you." 

"Of course, Hun." She glanced at Shadow. "Stop being so rude, Shadow." She sighed and looked at Sonic. "You can trust us, Hun. I promise we won't do anything to betray you." She answered calmly as Sonic nodded at what she said. 

"Alright then," He started walking the direction Amy had left. "Come on." 

"We're getting you to my place. It has enough rooms for you and your annoying friends." He said coldly. "No one knows where I live so you'll be safe." He looked at Rouge and raised a brow when she smiled at him. "What?"

Sonic didn't look at them as he kept walking and ignored what he said. He was spaced out as he walked, he wasn't completely sure if it was a good decision to actually trust them. He didn't want to get hurt any more than he already was nor for his friends to pay the consequences either.

"Why should we trust you?" Tails raised a brow and crossed his arms. "I understand that Rouge wants to help, but Shadow?"

Shadow groaned and rubbed his face in annoyance. "For the last time. We. Ar-" 

"We will help you, guys. You have to trust Shadow, he'll have you at his house, so you don't want him to regret helping you now, do you?" Rouge cut him off and spoke softly for them to trust her. 

Sonic glanced at Amy, he was standing beside her then he sighed. "Guys, we have nowhere else to go, I've called all of my friends and no one wants to help." He sighed with a bit of sadness, he had even called his family and told Tails that even them wanted Sonic dead or locked up. "I think we should give it a chance and if anything, we can leave. Disappear." He looked at them. "Is that okay?"

He looked at Shadow. "But if you hurt any of them. I won't hesitate to fight you back, Shadow."

"Yeah, yeah. You're not scaring anyone, Faker." The Ultimate Lifeform rolled his eyes. "We better get going if you want my help." He said coldly and starting walking away, making Rouge sigh. 

"...We should probably follow him…" Amy said lowly and held Sonic's hand. 

Sonic nodded and walked beside Amy as he held her hand. He had told Amy as well about his family and their response. Ever since his family told him that they wanted him dead, he had been acting coldly towards everyone else and spacing out a lot.

"Your house is nice!" Tails said in shock as he looked around, they had finally reached his house, after a long and awkward walk, that seemed endless.

"Yeah, thanks for letting us in, Shadow." Knuckles agreed with Tails. 

Shadow nodded "You're welcome. Follow me. I'll show you your rooms." He said coldly, but calmer than usual and walked to the first floor as Rouge sat on the couch like she's at her house. 

Sonic followed Shadow, he let go of Amy's hand as he walked behind them. He hoped Shadow wouldn't dare to put Amy and him in the same room. He was spaced out as he walked that he bumped into Tails. 

Tails looked at Sonic. "Sonic, are you okay?" He sighed and patted his back gently. "Is it still bothering you?" He lowered his ears slightly making Sonic rub his face. 

"I'll be fine." He stopped talking and looked at where Shadow was going.

He pointed at a room. There's a king-sized bed in that room, and there are two rooms with a normal bed you choose who's sleeping where. If you want you can even sleep on the couch. I don't care." 

"Hun! Stop being so rude." Rouge shouted from the living room.

Sonic chuckled and before Amy could drag him to the king-size bed, he quickly rested a hand on Tails' shoulder. "Tails and I can take that room. We grew up together, so it's fine. Knuckles and Amy can get the single rooms." He quickly said not wanting to rush anything with Amy. Especially because he didn't think it was right to be with her. 

Tails looked at Sonic a bit shocked on how quickly he answered for them and slowly nodded and shrugged. "I have no problem with that." He glanced at Amy that was lightly pouting. 

"I… Don't want to sound rude, but can we have something to eat? We were practically starving back there." He smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his head. 

"Of course Hun!" Rouge walked to them. "What do you want to get? Pizza? Chili dogs?"

Sonic's ear flickered when she said chili dogs. He hadn't eaten that for the entire time that they were running away from everyone. "Are you sure it's not a problem?" He asked to make sure about it. He was finally calming down and acting more calmly with them.

"Are you kidding? Of course it's not, you've saved our butts many times, getting you a chili dog or two it's nothing compared to what you've done." Rouge shook her head and patted Sonic's back. "Don't worry about Shadow, he'll get over it." She glanced at Shadow, who was glaring at her and chuckled. 

"Yeah, I don't really feel welcome, to be honest…" Tails chuckled at Shadow's glare. "Maybe it was safer in the woods." He said jokingly.

"Tell me about it. He hates me the most." He chuckled and nodded at Rouge. "Thank you for helping us, though." 

Rouge smiled and nodded. “You’re welcome, Hun."
