Chapter Twenty-One
The Most Awaited Lunch Part One.
It has been a week since Hayat agreed to meet Zianna and maybe help her with her problems, including her health.
Azhar called and explained their meeting place and time to Tayyal. And he also had to give Zianna a half day off because knowing his mother, the talk would take more than half an hour.
"Zian, come on let's just go for lunch..."
"Tay, don't you have work? Mr.Hussein is going to scold you about it..."
"I told him that I am with Zoya because of our wedding preparation and he agreed to give me time off whenever I wanted," Tayyal explained to his sister.
While Azhar was watching Tayyal convinced his sister to go and have lunch with her. He knew how stubborn Zianna was especially when she didn't want to leave her work unattended for too long.
"Fine, I will go with you, just to get you off my back," Zianna says leaving the last part to herself.
She got up and walked into Azhar's office to explain where she was heading and if he needed anything.
"Sir, I will be..."
"Its okay, Zianna. Your brother already infromed me about your time together and you van take the rest of the day off," Azhar says surprising her. "I will see you on Monday morning, Miss. Hussein," he added with a smile.
"Thank you, Sir."
Zianna was confused as to why her boss agreed with her and also gave her the rest of the day off. But she knew that this had Tayyal written all over it.
She just shook her head and walked out of the office. As soon as Zianna walked out of his office, Azhar called his mother to inform her that Zianna and her brother were on their way to the cafe, they picked for the meeting.
Zianna walked toward her desk and glared at her brother who just smiled.
"I didn't do anything, Zian. I just want to treat my sister for lunch..."
"Aha, come on lets go for the lunch and then maybe I will just complain about you to Zoya, she will always be on my side..."
"Zianna, I am trying to make my sister happy and Zoya loves you as much as I do. We want the best for you and we have been thinking about something. How about you come and live with us after we get married, in shaa Allah?" Tayyal asks his sister as they walk into the elevator.
Zianna knew that this topic wouldn't go without being discussed even once a day by Tayyal and his fiancee Zoya. But she knew that accepting their offer was going to cause a problem between his parents and Tayyal.
"Tay, you know very well why I cant accept what you and Zoya are offering me plus you two need time together as newly weds and I would just be interfering in your alone time..."
"Fine but always remember that Zoya and I will always open ours doors for you as well as our hearts. Plus I need to take you to the doctor...and no you cant say no to that Zian. You are sick and Zoya and I will help you."
Zianna knew what her brother said was right about her health condition and she needed to take care of it as soon as possible.
A few days ago, Zianna had to go back to the doctor to get her check-up and discovered that her health was deteriorating and would need surgery for a heart transplant as soon as possible otherwise she would not make it.
"Okay but first you need to ask Mr. Hussein and your mother before helping me?"
This made Tayyal smile knowing that his sister would get the help that she would need for her health.
"I will do that just for you, Zian."
After a few minutes, they got into Tayyal's car and drove to their destination, Tayyal hoped that Azhar could get his mother there just in time for her to talk to Zianna.
Tayyal looked at his sister trying to understand how Zianna managed to stay strong all these years that she had been staying at home.
He could see the faded bruises on her face and sometimes on her wrist where his mother pulled her hand.
Tayyal just needed confirmation from Zianna, herself about the abuse but knowing his sister, that's unlikely to happen as she didnt want to cause any trouble for herself.
"Hey look at the road. Anyway, where are we having lunch?"
"At your favorite cafe. And this time you can get whatever you want to eat and no one will stop you, okay?" Tayyal said.
"Fine but could we invite Zoya next time. I miss hanging out with her plus she is better company than you..."
"Come on, I am great company. I took you to your favorite spot and..."
"But she is fun, you not so much," Zianna says laughing at her brother's expression.
"Fine, then I wouldnt take you anywhere from now onwards..."
"Really? Then you will let me finish my work in peace and I will be able to go and have fun with Zoya," Zianna says while eying her brother who turned to glare at her. "Geez, I can't do that to you, Tay. You are one of the people who accepted me in the family and I can't forget the kindness that you and Dahlia have shown me. So thank you," she added smiling.
Tayyal smiled at his sister and shook his head.
"I know and no matter what you will always be my sister along with Dahlia and also Nour. Anyway we are here," he said parking the car. "Why dont you go inside and find a spot for us, I will be there, I just need to find a good parking," he added with a smile.
"Okay but don't take long," Zianna said.
When she got out of the car, Tayyal took out his phone and dialled Azhar's number to make sure that both he and his mother were nearby.
"Asalam aleikum, are you in the cafe or should I wait for you outside?"
"Waleikum salaam, my Mamma is in the car with me. We are just waiting for your signal to go inside. I can see your car from where we are," Azhar said.
"Okay, it's just Zianna is already inside waiting for me and I thinking Mrs. Hayat should walk in as soon as I do. Is that okay?"
"Yes, that's fine. We will see you inside."
They both hang up the call and Tayyal parked in a different spot so that Zianna doesn't ask questions.
Hayat looked at his son, who had never been concerned about any girl apart from his sister and cousins.
Why dont I just ask my husband to talk to Mr Hussein about our kids' marriage that way Azhar won't be so worried about Zianna when she would be staying with us at home.
"Mamma, are you okay? Are you sure you can do this?" Azhar asked his mother.
"Yes, habiby. I am sure and besides, I want to know everything about the girl that captured my son's heart..."
"Mamma, thats not true. I am helping her as a good person should..."
"Azhar, my son. I see how you look at her and thats the same way your brother looks at his wife and the way as your father looks at me," Hayat tells her son surprising him. "Yes, I noticed how your father looks at me and now you look at Zianna the same way as he does with me," she added opening the car door.
It can't be love, can it? Ya Allah, let me help her and find out if it's love or just friendship is what I feel for her. If it's love then my Mamma is right.
Meanwhile, Zianna was at her favourite booth waiting for her brother to walk inside the cafe. As she was about to call him when she noticed him walking inside with her boss and his mother.
She got up and walked towards them.
"Asalam Aleikum, ma'am. How are you doing?" Zianna greeted Hayat with a smile while trying to glare at her brother who had a smirk.
"Waleikum salaam, Habibty. You dont have to call me ma'am. You can call me Aunt," said Hayat. "We saw your brother outside and we thought why dont we have a ladies' lunch while Azhar and your brother have their lunch," she added smiling.
"Sure no problem Aunt," Zianna says leading Hayat to where she had been sitting.
Hayat turned to the two men and smiled before walking to where Zianna was sitting.
"Thank you, Azhar for this. I just hope that Zianna will agree on getting treatment before its too late and I was hoping for a chance to talk to you about something. I know that you will tell me the truth about what you trully feel for my sister," Tayyal said as they sat on the chair.
"What do you mean?"
Tayyal explained what he meant by his question and Azhar wanted to ignore what he had been feeling for Zianna for a while now but how couldn't he when she was always in his mind?
