chapter thirty-Nine
The Mastermind Behind Hania's {Zianna's Mother} Accident. And The Real Reason For Hussein To Divorce Her.{Part One}
The memories we have from our past will always stay with us no matter what. They are the one which made us who we are today, tomorrow and everyday of our lives.
Each time I tried to fall asleep, I remembered Hania, my wife begging me to help our daughter but due to Nadia I couldn't do it. I am guilty of being the worst type of human being that ever existed in this world. I couldn't protect my daughter from everything that has been happening.
"Hussein, are you even listening to me?" Nadia asked her husband for the third time but it seems that his mind is somewhere else. "I told you that we need to stop Dalia from going to Tayyal's house if that girl is there. She will influence her against us, her parents..."
This is what I have to deal with, every single day of my life. The nagging wife who doesn't seem to understand that her children have a right to do whatever they want in their lives. Even if it is to be with their sister.
Hussein stared at his wife who was still talking but his mind was somewhere else.
When he divorced the woman who loved him for himself and not for the wealth he could give her.
Hania Adam, my light.
"Nadia, they aren't kids anymore. You even sent Dalia away from home because of Zianna when she was young. And now she is back, do you want her to hate you for trying to get her to go away again?" he asked his wife. "Think carefully because Dalia is no longer a child, that you can threaten any time you want just to make her accept what you tell her", he added.
"Are you saying that because you want her to be with our kids? Hussein, you know that I can't and will never accept her as part of this family. After everything I have done to keep my children away from her, I just have to do more than what I did before", she said, shocking Hussein.
He couldn't help but remember the day he saw Zianna for the first time since he painfully divorced Hania and also disowned her for her safety.
"What are you talking about Nadia? What did you do?"
"I did what a wife, a mother would have done if they were in my place..."
"Did you...do it? Why?"
Nadia looked at her husband who was shocked at what he might have discovered but she knew that she needed to keep it a secret that will never come out.
Time to play the role of a 'perfect wife's who did nothing wrong.
"What are you accusing me of? I didn't do anything except send my daughter to a far away country because of her influence. That's all I did", Nadia said, secretly hoping that her husband would leave things the way they are.
"I can't and won't tell our children who they can hang out with. It is their life, Nadia and you should respect that", he said leaving no room for arguments.
As soon as Hussein left the room, Nadia took a deep breath that she was holding.
"Today I am saved and no one will ever find out that I was the one who was blackmailing you into divorcing and disowning that bratt Zianna. No one will know that I had something to do with the 'accident' that caused that woman's life. But now I will need his help and this will be the last thing he will do for me. I guess I could call him when Hussein goes to his business conference as he normally does at this time every year", she said, taking out her phone and dialling a number.
Nadia had no idea that someone heard everything that she said and was planning on doing to Zianna.
This has to stop and in shaa Allah, you will not succeed this time.
"We need to meet...at the same place as last time but this time it will be the last because I want this to be the end of this story", she said to the other person on the phone. "Okay, see in two hours", she added, hanging up the call.
This is for my family. I am doing this for them. Just for them.
"Are you doing it for them or just because you are insecure in the relationship between you and your family?"
A voice in her mind kept asking her those questions but Nadia was determined to keep Zianna away from her family even if she had to do what she did to her mother when she didn't listen the first time.
Meanwhile, Hussein is in his study staring at the picture of Hania and Zianna that he had hidden from Nadia.
He couldn't help but remembered the first time he received the threatening messages and the first he met Hania, his light.
Flashback.
The first message that Hussein received before divorcing Hania was something he never thought he would read.
"Divorce her and disown that bratt or your other family will face the consequences of your mistakes. You have two days to decide on who you want in your life. And if you don't decide, I will do that for you".
Hussein looked at his sleeping wife Hania and brought her close to his arms not wanting to let go. It was their eleventh anniversary that they celebrated with their 10th year old daughter Zianna.
Hussein fell in love with Hania because of her beautiful nature. Her humbleness. She was someone he needed in his life. Even though he was married to Nadia, he didn't feel the love and care that he got from Hania.
When his parents asked him to marry her, Hussein said no the first time. His parents had to pursue him as they never liked Nadia as she wasn't someone they wanted as their son's wife and their daughter-in-law.
Hania and Nadia were two very different people.
After meeting Hania, Hussein was mesmerized by the way she carries herself.
He couldn't help but compare her to Nadia when they first met.
Hania was raised in a strict Muslim family. While Nadia was a modern woman who did things that were against Islam and its teachings.
Nadia disliked Hussein's parents because of their way of life. She didn't want to be associated with them but couldn't do anything when her kids visited them.
Hussein was the first one to accept the marriage between him and Hania but with the condition that she lives in a different town far from Nadia.
One year later, they were blessed with a beautiful baby girl that they named Zianna Hussein. She was loved and adored by her parents and grandparents.
But deep inside Hussein loved Hania more than he ever loved Nadia because in his eyes they are two very much different from each other.
Yet they are his wives.
When his parents died when Zianna was about twelve years old he started treating them badly to make Hania ask for divorce but she didn't because she believed that. Hania was someone determined to turn every situation into a positive one.
But the last straw was the day Hussein made sure that she heard him talking to Nadia on the phone. And yelling at Zianna for no reason.
Hussein hated himself for doing all of this but he knew that if he didn't, his wife wouldn't know about Zianna and Hania.
He hates keeping them a secret but he had to especially after knowing what Nadia was capable of doing.
End of flashback.
As soon as Hussein heard the knock on the door, he quickly hid the picture in the drawer and locked it.
"Come in," he said.
The door slowly opened revealing his daughter Nour who had tears in her eyes.
"Nour, what happened? Are you hurt?" Hussein asked, getting up from his chair and walking toward his daughter.
Nour threw herself in her father's arms and started sobbing.
"I am sorry, dad. I am sorry...I need to tell you and her..." Nour says, sniffing in her father's arms.
Hussein put his hands on his daughter's face and wiped the tears from her face.
"What are you talking about? You know you can tell me everything, my dear", he said.
How do I tell you that my mother, your wife, is planning on harming an innocent person because she exists?
Nour looked at her father and took a deep breath. She started explaining everything to him. About what she heard from her mother.
"You did the right thing, Habibty. I will take care of it, you shouldn't worry about it..."
"Can I go and see Zianna please, Dad?" She asked.
"I can't stop you, Nour but you need to remember that your mother shouldn't find out about this and you seeing her. I promise that I will take care of everything. For now, you need to reconcile with your sister because she needs you", he said, hugging his daughter.
I promise to be the best older sister that Zianna will need. And as for you mother, I don't know if I can try to forgive you for this but I will leave everything to Allah.
In the coming days, Nour has been trying to get Dalia to take her to see Zianna at Tayyal's house.
"Nour, what is wrong with you?..."
"Can I come with you to see Zianna? I promise that I won't hurt her or even say bad things to her. I just want to apologize for everything that I did to her. I need to do it, Dalia", she said.
Dalia understood what her sister was trying to tell her. She reluctantly agreed to let Nour come along with her to visit Zianna.
