Revelations; {Part two}

After what Hussein did, Hania decided to return to work after two weeks of thinking about it.

Hania's former boss hired her without any problems, bringing her the best news she could ever receive.

She began setting aside half of her income for her daughter's education and hasn't relied on Hussein for support.

After that, Hania decided she wouldn't let anyone pull her and her daughter down just like her husband would when he came home from a work trip.

Zianna's twelfth birthday was almost a month away and Hania wanted the best for her daughter.

Hania planned and organised everything to surprise her daughter. Sunday morning, Zianna and her mother would normally pray together in Zianna's room and then decide to either go back to bed or make breakfast.

But this time, Hania surprised her daughter with her favourite chocolate cake that she baked when Zianna was in school.

Alhamdulilah, her job wasn't stressful and didn't require her to stay extra hours.

After finishing their prayers and making duas, Hania got up and walked inside the kitchen to get Zianna's surprise.

Hania brought the chocolate cake from the fridge and went back to Zianna's room.

As soon as Zianna caught sight of her mother holding her birthday cake, a big smile of joy spread across her face.

"Thank you, Mamma. But you know you didn't have to go through all that trouble..."

"Habibty, I would do it for you over and over again. You are the light of my life and I love you so much, my daughter," Hania says to her daughter.

She kept the cake down and hugged her daughter so tightly with tears in her eyes but Hania knew that she needed to be strong for the both of them.

"Okay, now we can cut the cake and then make tea..."

"Mamma, we need to make breakfast first and then cut the cake, is that okay?" Zianna asks her mother with a huge grin.

Meanwhile, Hussein was standing at Zianna's bedroom door with a scowl. He looked at the mother and daughter smiling, laughing and planning their day with each other.

His heart started breaking but he took a deep breath and put a stone face on before walking away from his wife and daughter.

He then walked into his bedroom and heard his phone ring. When Hussein saw the caller ID, he started to fidget but knew had to answer it.

"Asalam Aleikum, Nadia..."

"Dont you dare say salaam to me? Why haven't you been home? Where are you, Hussein?" The caller named Nadia asks him.

"Come on, Habibty. As I told you, I am at a business conference that will last two months and I still have a month and a half left. Don't worry, my love. I assure you, I will be there for the birth of our daughter," Hussein tries to reassure her, unaware that Hania was about to enter the room and overhear everything.

But Hania decided to keep quiet and listen to everything that Hussein was telling the other woman.

"I know that Hussein, but do you think that you could come in a week, I need you here," Nadia tells him.

"I know and I cant try to be there and also Tayyal is almost graduating high school. And I want to be there when that happens. In shaa Allah," Hussein says with a smile on his face.

"Okay, Habiby. I love you and dont forget about Tayyal's graduation date," Nadia replies to him.

"I love you too," Hussein says before ending the call.

"So I was right? Theres another woman..."

"Hania..."

"What? Aren't you going to explain or just lie to me again? You know, Hussein, I thought that it was my fault that you have been tired ever since you arrived home almost one month ago. But now I realized that you are a liar, a cheater and someone that I don't to be in mine and my daughter's life..."

"You can't do that, Hania. I married you because my father told me to. And if I didn't, he would disown me and would take the company from me..."

"What? And you didnt even tell me?" Hania asks with tears in her eyes. "Was all that love you showed us was is it fake? All those times that you were in a business trip, you were with..."

"My first wife and the love of my life. I married her despite my parents' protests. We have two kids and are about to have another one. No, she doesn't know about you and she will never find out, is that clear?"

Hania immediately knew that she and Zianna were the hidden secrets hidden from Hussein's wife.

"You don't have to worry about that. And you can go to your wife, she needs you while me and MY daughter don't even want you here," Hania says harshly wiping the tears on her face. "Divorce me and no one has to know anything about your secret life. Not even the love of your life," she added hoping that Hussein would agree.

"Fine, I will give you whatever you want but I don't want anything to do with Zianna's life or her future..."

"Done and don't worry about her life or even future. And you can have this house, my daughter and I will move out as soon as my Eddat is over, I will be sleeping in the guestroom. Don't forget to pack everything that you own and leave to see her," Hania says.

She then walked out of the room with a fake smile and had to do it for her daughter as it was her birthday.

From this day Hania made a promise to herself and for her daughter that she would be the best mother that Zianna would ever need in her life.

It was planned by Hania who wanted nothing but the best for her daughter.

She didn't want her daughter to see her in tears, so instead of going to Zianna's room, she stopped and walked inside the guest room to wash her face and fake a smile.

Hania wanted to make sure her daughter had the best birthday that she could ever want especially when Hussein had been ignoring and treating her like she didn't even exist.

Knowing what she had witnessed, Hania was certain that Hussein's behaviour towards Zianna would be different from then on.

But this wasn't the end as Hania would expect it to be especially after Hussein told her to move out after the three months of eddat had ended.

Alhamdulilah, she already managed to secure and buy an apartment that was closer to Zianna's school.

There are various forms in which revelations can occur, but it is the aftermath and those affected by the revelation that cause pain.
