III
The sun was gone, the weather got colder, the star shone bright in the night sky. It was quiet, all you could hear was the sound of the feet of the boy and the girl. It was almost as if there was nothing, not a single thing the boy needed to take care of, it was gone. They seemed so scared, the way the boy held tightly onto the girls hand, their eyes wide with fear. They ran so fast, time seemed to go by faster than normal, and it terrified them. The boy and girl, though, never stopped running, in fact they ran faster. The two panted heavily, their sides burned, but they pushed harder.
Eventually, a house came into view making the boy and girl almost sigh of relief. They didn't slow down, they sped up if it were possible. The snow crunched under their feet some flying up behind them. The two finally reached the door, the boy turning the knob, but finding it locked.
"No, no, no, no!" the boy startled the girl by yelling like that, soon and quickly though, she recovered. She understood where he was coming from, she felt the same way; frustrated, anxious, and worse of all, petrified. The girl took her hand out of the hazel eyed boys and used her hands to take her bag off and rummage through it.
Sadly, she came up with nothing, the fear almost completely taking over her entire body. Her breath came in short gasps, she threw her bag away from her in frustration, and she fell to the ground in defeat. They locked all windows, doors, everything.
"We're not giving up. No, not this easy. Our father is trapped in here, we can't give up." the boy turned around in circles, his mind working fast. It may cost them a ton, but at the moment, he didn't care. He took the stool that went to one of the chairs, and smashed it against the nearest window, he did it over, and over, and over until their wasn't anything left to smash. "Stiles!"
"It's the only way to get in, Em." Stiles knew Emma was worried about the money, but surely if this goes down right, they would have their insurance pay for it.
Emma sighed, inhaling deeply then finally, she replied with adrenaline running through her veins, "Let's go get our dad."

Barry Allen laughed along with his girlfriend, and his friend, feeling as if something was missing. He saw the way Stiles looked at that man that worked behind the Jitters cashier, it killed him and he didn't know why. He couldn't shake that stupid feeling away, and Barry knew Iris was seeing it too just by looking into her eyes and glimpsing at the emotions behind them.
"Hey, how's Stiles?" Cisco questioned, sipping his coffee. Iris shifted around uncomfortably in her seat, but managed to keep a smile on her face.
Barry noticed this, but replied, "He seems like he's doing okay. He's a bit down about the anniversary of his parents' death coming up though." he added another thing. "Oh and he met a guy today."
"A guy?" Cisco arched an eyebrow, no idea where his friend is going with this.
"Oh yeah um," he contemplated on whether or not he should tell Cisco what Stiles had told us earlier. Iris, though, beat him to it. "He's bisexual, didn't you know?" Barry looked at his girlfriend in shock, his jaw dropping right after she said it. Why would she say it?
Cisco choked on his drink. "He's bisexual?" Barry glared over at his girlfriend for a moment then, turned to look at his friend and confirmed his question with a nod.
"Is it okay if I step out with Iris?" Cisco shook his head and next thing you know, Barry is dragging his girlfriend out the door. The window blowing through his hair as he walked out, the grip on Iris was strong, not so strong to hurt her, but strong enough to keep her in his hold.
He finally stopped. "What the hell were you thinking, Iris?"
"What?" Iris questioned dumbly.
"You know what! Stiles might not have wanted us to tell anyone."
Iris sighed, all the anger she had built up towards Stiles washed away. He was right, maybe she shouldn't have done that. "I'm sorry, Bar. I just-I'm jealous when you're around Stiles or texting him."
"Why?"
Iris gave him a look. "You don't see it? Stiles is obviously in love with you."
"No, no he's not."
"Barry, you don't see the way he looks at you, or the way he looked when we hug, or kiss each other on the cheek. He's in love with you, Barry."
~
"Dad?" the boy called out, his insides flipped and flopped. He became scared, the adrenaline leaving his body. He had to do this though, his father is being held captive, and it's up to him and Emma to save him.
"Dad!" Emma shrieked. Emma let go of her brothers hand, running towards a figure that laid on the ground, their arms lying in a different direction, their legs somewhat vertical. Stiles stayed there, his eyes glued to the man positioned on the ground. It couldn't be this easy. They've barely walked ten feet and found him on the floor? It wasn't over, and Stiles could see that.
"EMMA!" he hollered. His feet seemed to work faster than his mind did, and he was already where Emma was pushing the two out of the way. An arrow shot from across the room, and it would've hit Emma if Stiles hadn't of seen it earlier. Stiles embraced Emma, her head resting on his chest.
She could hear the beats of his heart, her heart thumping faster than it ever has. She thought she was okay physically, but emotionally? Her brown eyes were clouded with tears, but she refused to let them flow. Crying wouldn't help and right now, she needed to help her dad. "Stiles, how are we supposed to get him out of here?"
Stiles gripped tighter. "I don't know, Em."
"This is just getting started!" a voice said, chuckling. "We're going to have lots of fun." Emma whimpered against Stiles' chest, him gripping on tighter as the man kept talking. "I've held your father hostage since everyone thought he was dead. I got bored so, I decided to play a game."
Stiles hesitated, "What game?"
"A little game I like to call Hide and Seek." the voice chuckled darkly, his voice deep and cold. Emma pulled back from the boys arms, her hands balling into fists. This guy can't just play with us, she thought. Why would he? Why are we so special?
"Why us?" she wanted to ask, but she said, "Okay, we'll play as long as we get our dad if we win."
The man was silent for a moment then, he confirmed, "Deal."
~
Stiles and Emma ran off to hide, the man counting up to 60 giving them a minute to hide. Stiles didn't know where to hide, Emma didn't either. The man was getting closer to 60 by the minute, their lives in his hands.
"Shit," Emma muttered, earning a slap from her brother soon after. She glared at him. They stopped in the middle of the hallway, everything quiet besides the counting. They had 20 more seconds to hide.
"Wait, Em, do you remember that place we used to hide in when we were little?" Emma thought for a minute, thoughts swimming through her head at 1 millimeter a second.
Finally, she remembered. She silently cheered in her head while she said, "Yeah, the cellar under the carpet in dads room?"
"Yes!" he whisper-yelled. The two smirked at each other and ran towards their dads room that was downstairs, and quietly had to tiptoe to get to there. They came running into their dads room and removed the carpet, Stiles quickly opened the cellar door, and Emma climbed in after.
"Ready or not, here I come." Stiles looked up in panic, his eyes wide. He climbed onto the steps, taking the carpet and moving it back over then, shutting the door. Stiles blinked a few times, trying to get used to the dark, he heard panting, whispers coming soon after.
"Emma? Hey, it's going to be okay." He scrambled down the stairs, putting his hands on the stone, cold walls trying to find his way to his sister. A loud clang came from a bucket the boy accidentally kicked , and Stiles stood rigid.
"Fuck," he mumbled.
"Come out, come out, where ever you are.You know I can find you." the man said darkly, he chuckled. Stiles sat down where he was, shivering as it was freezing, but it was worth the risk if he was going to save his dad.
"You know you can't hide from me, Stiles. I know every inch of this house." Stiles felt the tears threaten to fall, his eyes closing letting a tear fall down his cheek. The cold air surrounded him, his arms and legs becoming stiff, but he stretched them out. He couldn't get warm, it felt like it was in the negatives. He didn't have a heavy coat, he was wearing a pair of skinny jeans which didn't help much, he wore a t-shirt under his hoodie, though the hoodie wasn't very thick. Emma, on the other hand, didn't have much. She wore black tights under this blue dress and only had a cardigan. He slowly took off his sweatshirt, careful not to hit something and whispered to Emma.
"Emma, where are you?"
"I think I'm to your right." Stiles slowly used one of his hands to place the bucket somewhere else and proceeded to scoot over. Unfortunately, he heard footsteps coming from up above them and afraid, he threw the sweatshirt in hopes it landed on Emma or close to Emma. "What is this?"
"It's my sweatshirt. Use it." Stiles replied in a low and hushed tone. The girl didn't argue, she put the sweatshirt on, the sweatshirt almost engulfing her. The girl blinked a couple of times, her eyes adjusting to the darkness, her vision clearer. She could see Stiles' figure, she couldn't make out the details but she felt safe, less nervous that she can see him better.
"Oh, Emma, Stiles," the man taunted. The two siblings could hear his footsteps fade away, Emma letting out a breath, her body relaxing from it's tense state.
"Boo!" Emma let out a scream as the man opened the cellar door and poked his head through. Stiles shot up to his feet, his body swaying from the fast motion, and in a second he grabbed Emma yanking her up and running deeper into the cellar.
The cellar wasn't big, but wasn't small either. Their was secret hiding holes that Stiles had dug when he got drunk one night, and his friends dared him to make a secret hole in the wall. The hole was big enough to fit the two of them, Emma was small enough to have to people in there. It wasn't very noticeable and Stiles almost skipped over it. Stiles put Emma in there, and went in after her. It was pitch black, all you could hear was the sound of dark laughter, and heavy footsteps coming from what sounded like boots.
"I'm coming for you, Stiles, Emma. I'' give you 5 seconds to come out, or your dad dies." Stiles heard whimpering and the two tensed up went completely rigid. The boy and girl were scared, their dad probably terrified, but not for himself, for his kids. Their father was a sweet man, a heart of gold, rarely got mad. It was difficult for him to hear his kids so scared.
"Stay here, Em, don't come out until I tell you too." Emma looked at him, thoughts immediately rushing to her head. Is he insane, she thought. Stiles knew what his little sister was thinking of. "Emma, I'll be fine."
"Please be careful, Stiles. I can't lose you." Stiles looked at his sister, his smile filled with sadness, and without a word, crawled out and was soon out of sight.
"Hello? I'm here." Tears were repeatedly pushed back, a couple had dropped, his whole body shaking with fear. A flashlight was shone in his face, Stiles squinting at the brightness, and the man chuckled.
"Where's Emma?" the man turned the flashlight off, the two man's eyes adjusting to the darkness once again.
"Where's my dad?" a tear slipped out from his eye, he quickly wiping it away before the man saw.
The man moved, and the hazel eyed boy saw his father tied to a chair. "Take a look." Stiles looked shocked, exactly what the man was going for, the man instantly feeling proud of himself.
"Stiles?" his dad croaked, pain taking over every inch of his body.
"Dad?"
