Dear Me,
Written for the "To All the Women" contest
What I wish I could have said to me
Back when I was only a teen with dreams
Pacing back and forth in anxiety
Chewing nails and biting back the screams
I wish I could have said, "You'll be alright.
Life will throw you in different directions,
Some to places where you will not feel right.
Being a woman is hard in all reflections.
"But here we stand, beautiful and strong.
We refuse to crumble when walls fall down.
Fear not, we will find where we belong,
As queens and warriors, wearing a crown.
"So dear young me, save those tears tonight.
You won't need them in the future, my light."
