Lucrecia knew what she wanted say, but she didn't know exactly how to say it. It was weighing on her shoulders and her mind for a very long time. As she jutted her heels one after the other, striding forward towards the private library door, she knew that Guzman was close behind her because she'd been asking him to talk since the morning, but he had no time until that moment.

"May I speak now?" she asked sarcastically, to which Guzman gave a slight nod of his head followed by a mumbled 'okay?'

He wasn't okay. As much as Lu wanted to believe that everything was solely because of the death of his sister and him being distant from his family, she knew that deep down Alaska held a piece fo that weight.

"I don't like having to scold you like a child, Guzman. I do not like it," she continued, "I spent the whole summer with you to comfort you and support you, to move on from all of this shit . . . We both decided to do all this, but you're not helping. I want to be your girlfriend, not your fucking mother!" She concluded, slamming her fist o the table in frustration.

"I know, Lu," Guzman interrupted as calmly as possible, "And I'm eternally grateful. But as my 'girlfriend', can't you understand that I've had a shitty summer and I feel like having fun?-"

"And I've been with you all that shitty summer!-"

"You're always telling me to have fun. Well, that's what I'm fucking doing!"

"Well then have fun, asshole! Have as much fun as you want! Take drugs, get drunk. You want to end up a junkie . . ."

From the front of the room, Valerio chuckled, which made Nadia look up at him from her book.

He chuckled knowingly at the word 'junkie', and decided it was time for him to step in before one of them would say something they'd regret.

"Que paso . . . que paso?" He stretched as he waltzed into the room, ready to offer Guzman some casual cocaine.

Valerio never felt any type of way over his drug use because he knew that he could still control himself if he wanted. He wasn't an addict just yet, and he wasn't trying to be one. All he wanted was to have a good time, not a long time.

On the surface, the brunette wanted that for Guzman as well and that was why he was more than excited to line to coke up for him on the desk. There was only a small fraction of his conscience that felt guilty for even using drugs himself, let alone offering some to Guzman, non matter how in control he was.

That fraction was Alaska.

If she found out what was going on, there was no telling how much deep shit he'd be in with her. So he kept that a secret from her for a little bit.

Nadia was smart and she had an inkling of what was happening in the room, but just to be sure, she walked over to Lu who was stood on the terrace just so she could ask:

"What're they doing?"

Lu bit back a chuckle and after seconds, responded, "I suppose the only way my brother makes chemistry stick in his head is through his nose."

"What about Guzman? Aren't you worried?" Nadia asked, hating the part of herself that was concerned about the wellbeing of her ex-friend's ex-boyfriend.

"I couldn't care less," Lu replied too quickly, "he can do whatever he wants . . . maybe you should talk to him."

"Me?"

"Tu."

"Why me?"

"No se . . . maybe if a complete stranger to him points out his problem, he'll take it more seriously than it is."

Lu left shortly after that and Nadia was still slightly confused. After all she had put everyone through to finally be with Guzman, she was giving up? Already? Especially in a time that he probably needed some comfort the most? Nadia knew she had absolutely no impact on Guzman whatsoever. But in a flash, it was as though a light sparked on her head, and she knew the right person for that job.

De: Nadia

@19:23      'I wanted to reach Alaska directly but I thought it was too soon. I don't know how best to explain this but Guzman is using drugs and apparently no one can stop him.'

@19:23     'But Ala probably can.'

@19:24      'Convince her?'

Alejandro had been pondering over the message for a good hour and a half, just thinking about everything that could come from it.

Guzman was doing drugs. A dangerous combination to mix with his mood swings Valerio often describes to him, his already prominent temper, and his recent love for alcohol. What made things even worse was that Nadia was right.

At that point, probably Alaska could be the only voice of reason.

But to be honest, Alejandro was even scared to mention Guzman's name around her, so as not to set her off.

The blonde adjusted his silky, maroon button up shirt and buckled his gold watch as he walked to the door to his sister's room and barged through.

"Can you hurry the hell up? We're late."

From the vanity, the brunette looked up and down at her brother, scoffed, and turned back to the mirror to finish applying the shade of wine red lipstick.

"It's 8:30."

"The party started thirty minutes ago."

"Oops." She shrugged, and couldn't care less as she dropped the lipstick on the table.

"Ala!-"

"Okay, okay! Relax. I just need to put my boots on."

She said, standing up to walk towards the closet door, and that is when Alejandro noticed that they looked like they were going to two completely separate venues.

"It's a red party, what are you wearing?"

The brunette looked up from the bed, slightly offended and dropped the boot to the ground.

"Are you blind? There's red all over this outfit- and look at the boots! Are they fucking green?"

"At this point, I can't even be bothered to make you change, hurry up and let's go."

Alejandro wanted to talk to her about it there, but decided to wait for a while until after they were in the car so she couldn't try anything because it would risk both of their lives. Now that he thought of it, Ale realised whenever he had to deliver some sort of bad news to his sister, he did it in a car because she wouldn't dare to freak out whilst it was moving. In fact-

"Señor;" Alaska's voice interrupted as she snapped her fingers in his face to snap him out of his daydream.

"Que?"

"Nothing, you just started daydreaming and I asked if we were meeting Vale there?"

Alejandro looked at his sister up and down, slightly nervous at her outfit. He even felt the urge to put some sweats on her. She never usually wore such clothes and honestly, he was still trying to wrap his head around the fact that she was I party clothes instead of her usual house attire.

"Aren't you like . . . cold?" He asked, as they descended the stairs to make their way to the front door.

"Don't do that."

"Huh?"

"Do I really have to give you a lecture on not telling a woman how to dress?"

"N-No!" Ale quickly jumped to defend himself, "I just mean like-"

"Relax," the brunette stopped him, laughing at how nervous he'd gotten.

That made Alejandro somewhat grateful that she appeared to be in a good mood, so when he mentioned Guzman in the car, maybe she wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the whole topic completely.

Finally downstairs, the twins noticed how dimly lit their home was, but it wasn't surprising. It was a big house with not a lot of people occupying it. The only time it felt lonely was when the twins would reminisce about the time when their father was alive.

Caesar Velazquez loved to entertain.

Before he passed, there was always some sort of social event he hosted at least once every two weeks. But the older man always made sure that these events happened at their house, but never in their home. So he got his grand shindigs and his family would never feel like he was allowing socialite strangers into their personal space.

It was one of his greater qualities.

"Hasta luego, Alba!" Alejandro shouted to Alba who was at the kitchen and responded with a caring: 'you two be safe,' and with that, they were off.

-

"Cayetana!" Valerio heard Lu yell from beside him. Looking straight ahead and breaking out of his daydream, he noticed that in fact, Cayetana had just walked in. Frankly, the brunette didn't care. The disappointment he felt wasn't that she had showed up, it was that his twin friends hadn't yet. They'd messaged him that they were on the way but they were yet to make an appearance and it had been nearing twenty minutes.

But Alas, just a few more minutes had passed before Valerio's eyes found that of Alejandro's tall structure walking through the open doors of the VIP section. If it wasn't for the fact that he was already looking that way, he would've missed Alaska completely. His eyes widened at how good she was looking.

"Joder . . . someone didn't get the message about it being a classy event." Lu's critical tone sounded from beside him again, clearly motioning towards Alaska.

"Lu." He scolded.

"Sorry, all I'm saying is she has loads of money so she doesn't need to dress like a three euro stripper." Lu judged harshly. She would have continued as well, but when she chuckled, she noticed Guzman's squinted eyes towards her and quickly held her hands up in defence.

Sneakily, Valerio looked to Guzman as well and pointed his thumb towards the bathroom and then to his nose. Immediately, the blonde knew what he was talking about, and they both stood up to head that way. Unbeknownst to them both, Alaska, was onto them because of what her twin had told her in the car ride to the club. She didn't even believe him and almost cussed him out. But seeing them both walk to the bathroom, her heart jumped a little, telling Alejandro she'd be right back when several minutes had passed and her anxiety was getting the best of her. All she wanted was to be proven wrong.

But of course, they both proved her right.

"What are you doing? Are you serious?" Alaska asked in an annoyed tone as she stared at Valerio and Guzman's surprised expressions.

Guzman was in shock and frankly, slightly embarrassed that of all the people, she caught him. He was at a loss for words as he stared at her trying to form a sentence in his mind that he could say out loud. In that moment she thought about how she owed her brother an apology for cussing him out during the car ride there because she refused to believe that two people she thought she knew so well were dabbling with hard drugs.

"Y tu!" she turned to Valerio, "Tell me you're not this stupid to be messing around with this shit." In the back, the music was blaring loudly, but the brunette could hear her loud and clear, especially with the look of disappointment on her face. He felt like a little boy under that look.

"One of you answer me!"

None of them answered her.

"You want to become hooked on drugs?-"

"We're not hooked on anything, we- I'm just trying to have a little fun and this helps."

"Fine then; sin problema." With that, she opened the small ziplock filled with the dangerous white powder, "I want to have some fun too. I'm not right now- you know, considering my cheating ex and his new girlfriend are at the same party as me. Let me snort every last piece of this too-" as she spoke, the boys noticed that she had began pouring the powder onto the counter, but Valerio quickly snatched the bag from her before she could and as much as it pained him to do so, blew the little that was on the counter into the air.

"Cuál es tu puto problema?-"

"Look I understand what you're trying to do-"

"So you don't want me to hurt you, to break your heart seeing me snorting up this shit but you think it's fair for me to see you doing it?"

Silence.

With that the brunette picked up her bag off of the counter and turned her back to walk out, leaving the two boys ashamed and slightly embarrassed.

Outside the bathroom was suddenly beginning to feel warm, and she had only just gotten there. If her hair wasn't in it's tight bun, she'd run her hands through it. Sighing in frustration, Ala looked around to see if she could find Alejandro. To her dismay, she found him, but he looked to be in a conversation with Rebecca and Nadia. Ander was next to try and find, but right when she noticed him, he was walking out through the doors of the VIP section.

It was beginning to seem as though the night was over even though the clock had barely touched 9pm and for a Friday night, to was becoming a disappointment.

From a distance, Guzman had exited the bathroom, still feeling ashamed that he had been caught by Alaska, but deep down he wasn't sorry. It felt like he was watching her for minutes and he couldn't stop. The way her hair glistened with its new darker colour, the way her clothes seemed to fit her body just right . . . the way her green eyes lacked sparkle and instead just looked sad; he couldn't stop staring, he didn't want to stop staring.

"I know what you're doing and believe me, it won't work." A new voice said from beside him. Startled, Guzman looked left to face the same very girl's twin.

"Huh?"

"You've never done a single drug in your life Guzman. Acting out, using drugs, getting drunk all the time, is going to make her upset at you, which isn't good attention."

Looking from Alejandro and back to the girl to see her taking a sip of a cosmo, Guzman sighed and continued.

"Any attention from her, good or bad, at this point is better than absolutely none at all." He replied quietly. Ale looked at him for a few seconds longer while he continued to stare at his sister, completely heartbroken.

Alejandro sympathised, he really did; But there was nothing that he could do. In a sense, Guzman brought what happened upon himself. He'd always believed that you never knew what you had until it was gone. Guzman's undoing was because he didn't know how much of a catch his sister was until they weren't together anymore. Additionally, he cheated on her several times so if he knew what he was doing was a mistake, why would he do it over and over?

Ale wasn't surprised that he was basically begging for attention from her.

"At Cayetana's house the last time, that was the first time she actually talked to me. And that was because I was drunk and had the freaking courage to say hi first. I just thought if I-"

"If you act out more, she'll talk to you?"

"She did just now, didn't she? Sure, it was to tell me how disappointed she was . . . but she still talked to me."

Neither of them said a word after that.

Cayetana was having a crisis of her own.

She could tell Lu and Carla were having a disagreement with the way they each went back and forth at each other the entire time they were seated.

Then it was time for one person to get the next bottle, and with her luck, it was her turn.

Her heart completely dropped to her toes and he gut sank as she walked slowly towards the bar to figure out how she was going to afford a bottle that was more expensive than her shabby apartment. At least if she couldn't afford the bottle, she was figuring out the excuse she'd use the she returned empty handed. As she neared the bar, she noticed Valerio's bouncy brown hair hunched over the table talking to a brunette girl from her class. Immediately, she devised a plan.

"Valerio-" she fake sighed, but she was cut off by Valerio talking to the girl.

"Valeria, por favor-"

"Qué? Por favor, qué? I said leave me alone because I don't want to talk to you right now."

"No, because I know you. If I leave you right now for the rest of the night you're gonna be mad at me all day tomorrow. I can tell you're upset right now."

"Oh? No me digas," she replied sarcastically and grabbed her drink and hiked her shoulder bag up, "maybe then you'll realise how stupid you look right now. Leave me alone."

With that, she took a sip of her drink, ignoring him.

Cayetana saw how frustrated Valerio looked after she was gone, and was even skeptical about continuing with her plan but continued regardless.

"Valerio . . . let's see if this works." She said, pretending to reach into her bag for a debit card. Sometimes my card works, sometimes it doesn't. I've worn it out from too much shopping. What are you doing?"

The brunette didn't even give her the time of day before he was walking past her, hardly hearing a word she said.

From the corner of her eye, Alaska saw Cayetana's disappointed expression and couldn't help but chuckle. The blonde was evidently looking for someone to buy her a bottle. A large hand cupped her shoulder, making Ala flinch and turning back only to find that it was only Alejandro. The blonde nodded her head at her and towards Cayetana, to which she replied:

"She wants a drink or something, no se y no me importa."

Alejandro looked at her, slightly bewildered and walked closer to the blonde.

"Cayetana, verdad?" He confirmed, outstretching his hand.

The girl didn't even see him coming, let alone for her to be prepared to shake his hand. Stuttering, she joined her smaller right hand with his and said:

"S-Si."

"Alejandro Velazquez; a bottle of Black Label for my friend, por favor." He replied with an ever so charming smile and alerted the bartender.

Alaska, from behind them, rolled her eyes and scoffed. The brunette picked up her drink and walked off to find someone else she could talk to because she knew that Alejandro was going to be occupied. Just then, her phone buzzed:

De: Christian -

'How's the night going babygirl?'

Back at the bar, Cayetana was blubbering to spit out her words.

"Thanks. It's just-" she paused, holding up her card she knew damn well was empty,  "it's worn out from too much shopping." She lied.

"You're paying by card? That's a little . . . vintage. No?" Ale asked as he whipped out his phone to activate the Apple Pay.

Cayetana's heart dropped with angst but she was quick on her feet.

"It's just that when I activated mobile payments, I ended up killing the battery at a Prada store in Goya. I had to wave for a taxi on the street. That's what's vintage." She boasted.

Alejandro cringed ever so slightly because he couldn't care for shopping, but he didn't know her and he was only trying to be nice to the pretty girl, so he changed the subject.

"So? How do you like Las Encinas? I've never had a proper conversation with you before."

"It's a dream come true," she said with a small giggle, holding the bottle up towards him, "thank you for this."

Alejandro nodded his head towards her as she backed away to walk back to her table.

She was cute.

When he turned around to go back to ordering a drink (which was the reason he headed towards the bar in the first place), he noticed Nadia, with her beautiful brown eyes, staring at him.

"When did you get here?" he asked, leaning over the stool.

"Not too long ago . . . but log enough to see that grin on your face from talking to Cayetana." she teased, faking a smile. Nadia knew damn well, it hurt to see him smile at her like that.

"What are you implying?" he asked.

To be honest, Alejandro found her cute; very cute in fact.

But it just ended at that.

She appeared a bit too superficial, and after dating Yves and still having to deal with her bullshit even to the current day, he never wanted to date a superficial girl ever again.

Cayetana, she was cute.

But until he found a reason to move on from Nadia, he would always have his feelings lay with her.

"I'm implying that that look was more than just a . . . look. Are you interested? We're friends now, you can talk to me." Nadia replied, leaning closer to him than he was expecting. So close she could feel his warm breathe on her face; that right there, that's what made his heart skip a beat.

"She's not my type." He said, confidently.

"What's your type then?" Nadia responded, daring to lean even closer.

Ale nodded his head in mock contemplation.

"I don't have a type, I just know what I don't like. Besides . . . I'm kind of into somebody else at the moment."

Nadia was disappointed.

Blinking twice, she leaned back and towards the table, much to Ale's confusion.

"Can I have some water please?" She asked softly, feeling stupid all of a sudden.

Rebecca and Samuel- well, Rebecca had a plan to get Carla's phone. Samuel just didn't know about it yet. The tall brunette girl had been thinking of ways to distract the 'elite' group of kids for minutes and she still didn't know how to go about it until she noticed Alaska Velazquez about to walk past their table with her phone in her left hand and a drink in the right, typing rapidly.

Immediately, she told Samuel to follow her lead. The brunette strolled and then when Alaska was right in front of Carla but still focused on her phone, put her own glass to her lips and bumped her shoulder on her shorter frame, causing her phone to almost drop to the ground, but her drink to spill in a big dose over Carla, Cayetana, and just a drop on Lu.

"Shit, watch where you're going!"Ala quickly turned, towards Rebecca, annoyed as ever.

"Lo siento-"

"What are you doing?! What's wrong with you?!" Cayetana yelled in fear, facing Rebecca.

Alaska turned back again to Cayetana who was busy dabbing the velvet dress while yelling if the drink was Jaegermeister.

"Relax, princesa. It was clearly an accident, no need to be ru-"

"It's calimocho. Bebita, I know you didn't come here with a good outfit tonight, but that actually stains." Lu jumped in, coming to Cayetana's defence.

"Are you talking to me? Cause I know damn well you're not talking to me with that much bass in your voice." Alaska squinted, walking towards her rival.

"Hey break it up, like I said, it was an accident." Rebecca quickly interrupted, not wanting to see a cat fight break out.

"You should be sorry," Lu pointed to her with a fake smile, "sorry for even existing."

"Don't talk to her like that." Ala decided then, defending her.

"Or what?"

Alaska blood was beginning to boil, and honestly, she didn't feel like counting to ten to knock Lu's lights out. She turned and grabbed the drink in Rebecca's hand and in a flash, dashed the glass towards Lu's face, spilling the contents of cold drink all over her face. Whilst Carla was in shock, Cayetana jumped to help Lu out by yelling at Alaska. The brunette dropped her Chanel shoulder bag immediately and balled her fist, ready to strike but at once, a strong hand wrapped around her waist, pulling her away.

"Drop me! Drop me now, whoever the fuck you are- Who are you?!"

"Ala, Ala, Ala! It's me, it's me." Guzman's voice said from beside her, and she felt herself getting even more angry than before, but she physically couldn't do anything because he had her in a locked position.

"I can't let you go until you calm down, okay?" Guzman continued, unable to predict what would happen if she let her go in that moment.

He pulled her away and towards the bar where it was far enough away from their booth where she wouldn't be able to see Lu and possibly prevent an altercation.

When they were out of view, Ala shut her eyes and heaved deeply, counting to ten. All the while Guzman holding her in place. She almost forgot that they were in a difficult place in that moment because it felt all too familiar. Too familiar that she struggled to finally push him away, feeling tears gather in her eyes, but not daring to let them fall.

The night was over.

A/N: How'd I do y'all? NGL, I had to cut it here cause it was getting to lengthy haha. But still?
