The corridor to the main office was dimly lit with only repetitive typing sounding over and over again in the background; Although prominent, faint.

The brunette's green eyes paced around the hallway as she tapped her feet impatiently.

To say Alaska Velazquez was bored of waiting would be an understatement.

She was sitting and debating just getting up and leaving for the past fifteen or so minutes, but deep down, there was nothing that screamed 'SUSPICIOUS' other than a person who had been called into questioning, showed up, and left.

Her impatience was so demeaning that she almost missed the familiar blonde woman walking towards her with a single black pen in her hand and her ponytail swaying behind her.

"We meet again." Alaska said sarcastically as the woman beckoned her forward. Swinging her handbag over her shoulder, she followed the older woman into the office without another word.

-

The vibration of the ground Alaska and Alejandro felt as soon as they stepped out of the car was quite obviously due to the repeated thumping base coming from inside the club.

While Alejandro resisted the urge to jump up and down in the air from excitement, Alaska was trying not to shit bricks as her strappy, silver heels clicked on the pavement. Another thing she was about to do was fall flat onto her face because time had taken a toll on her rememberance  of how to walk in high heels.

Over her white teddy coat, combined with her nerves, the amount of warmth she was feeling was overbearing and the club's atmosphere didn't make it any better.

"Where did Valerio say we'd be?" Alaska asked her twin, taking off her coat to hand to the small-ish looking lady at the cloak room.

"VIP."

"I know, but at the bar, or the dance floor, or what?"

"Let's just find him first and . . ."

Alaska couldn't help but zone out at the fact that she began to tune him out when her gaze  was stuck on the flashing lights of red and blue hues in front of her.

Sure, she had been to the club a couple of times with her cousins during her short time on the French island, but those were smaller, more casual, more easier to let loose in type of clubs. The type where she didn't have to care about wearing a fancy dress and heels to, but rather, the right pair of jeans and sexy bralette would do just fine with some sneakers.

The other major difference was the company. All around her, her surroundings were filled with people she didn't want to see. It gave her an. unsettling feeling in the pit of her stomach as she felt  her twin put an arm around her shoulder and lead them both through the crowd of people to make it to the VIP section of the club.

Meanwhile, from the glass windows, Guzman took another sip of his Hennessy on the rocks as he tried not to crush his glass he was clenching tightly in his hand as he set his eyes on the new girl, Nadia, and the one he hated most, Samuel walk descend the stairs. Slamming his drink on the nearest table, the blonde stomped quickly towards Samuel.

"What're you doing here" he asked sarcastically, "let's get you out."

He gritted tightly and tapped Samuel firmly on his shoulder.

It had to take Valerio who saw Guzman's heavy descent from the bar , to quickly interfere and attempt to separate the two of them by leading Samuel to the bar.

"You can see the bar is huge. You can order whatever you want," Valerio said proudly, waving at the bartender, "they know who I am-"

But his speech was cut short when Guzman yelled:

"Let him order downstairs, where I can't see him!" before proceeding to shove Samuel roughly in the back.

At this point, quite a lot of attraction had been drawn towards them as Guzman's friends dropped what they were doing to try and thaw the situation. Even Nadia had to step in, realising how bad the tension could be.

"Do you think I want to look at your face?" Samuel replied, standing his ground.

"What was that? I must have misheard you."

"So let's see if you hear this right. I'm not to blame for Marina's death because my brother did not kill her!" Samuel was beginning to feel like a broken record repeating that phrase over and over and over again. And frankly, he was getting sick of it.

"Really? So who did? Dazzle us with your foresight, champion! Who killed her?!"

Valerio held Samuel back while Nadia held Guzman as they began to near each other.

"I don't fucking know! I'm not a detective, but at least I'm trying to find out!"

Samuel broke through and shoved Guzman far back, which angered him even more.

"And do you know who is a detective? The one that put your brother in prison, where he'll rot for the rest of his life. I hope they crack his head open, so he knows what it feels like."

Everything was moving so fast paced after that comment. There was almost a punch thrown by Guzman but luckily, Ander and Lu had stepped in to push him away, while Valerio dragged Samuel away from the scene.  Guzman was so livid that he didn't even know the words spewing out of his mouth towards Ander for defending Samuel.

"Guzman, you're one of my best friends, so let me give you some advice. Stop forcing people to take sides. You'll end up finding yourself alone. And incase you haven't noticed, the girl you want to make amends with is standing at the entrance, and we both know she'd hate to see you like this."

Out of all Ander had said, that was what Guzman caught as he looked up behind Ander to see that really and truly,  his ex-girlfriend was standing at the door. Guzman's heart felt like it was caught in his mouth as he marvelled at her beauty. She was looking at the seating area, with a confused look as she scanned the area, almost as if she was searching for someone.

It was Lu repeatedly tapping him and motioning for him to follow her that made him break his daze and suddenly feel some embarrassment for his behaviour.

The night was just beginning as Alaska spotted Christian upstairs with a  button up shirt and a ridiculous smile on his face which contradicted the frown he had on before he saw her.

When Alejandro noticed Christian descending the stairs, he nudge his sister slightly to tell her that he was going to get them some drinks.

The brunette turned back to face her friend with a grin on her face which didn't quite match his, but nonetheless, brought him in to a quick but deep hug, and he couldn't help but give her a small peck on her cheek.

"When I picture the woman of my dreams, she looks exactly like you do right now." Christian flirted playfully, to which Ala couldn't help but laugh a little.

"You don't look too bad yourself, guapisimo."

And Ala didn't know whether it was the lighting in the room or a figment of her imagination, but she could have sworn that Christian, for the first time, blushed slightly, feeling bashful.

"Are you getting fucked up? Because I am." Christian said, slightly jittery, as the two walked together to where Christian was seated.

The brunette didn't want to call out his strange mannerisms because she had concurred that this semester, Christian was not completely himself  but everything in her wanted to blame it on the fact that he was also struggling with Marina's passing, but she felt like she was lying to herself.

"I'm not too sure yet," she replied as they both sat on the leather seat, "we still have school tomorrow,  guapo. Don't forget that."

"That's  what you say  at  every party."

Alaska was about to retort when Alejandro appeared in the corner of her eye with  two drinks in his hand.

"A cosmo and a mojito."

"Virgin I'm guessing?"

"My body is a temple."

"Believe me, when I tell you what just happened, you will wish you were drowning in tequila."

With that, Christian continued to explain what happened just seconds prior to the twins arriving at the vip section, and upon the realisation that the atmosphere was probably still awkward yet tense, in true fashion, Alaska was up and at the bar shortly after Christian was finished.

Two shots turned to three, and being the lightweight that she was, she was borderline between tipsy and drunk as she got up from beside Christian to force him to dance.

"Just one dance! I love this song!"

"You don't even know this song."

"I don't need to know it to love it; Christian, por favor!"

"Dance with Ale."

That wasn't going to happen because Alejandro was still at the bar, sipping on one of his virgin drinks as he looked to be carrying a conversation with a lovely girl everyone knew as Vivica.

"Can you see that he's doing whatever the hell he's doing, por favor!"

This was another reason why the brunette wanted to confront her friend, because he had never once turned down a dance with her; sober or drunk. It didn't annoy her, it was just very worrying.

"Chris-"

Alaska was cut off by the feeling of a palm encircling around her lower stomach area, and the cold metallic rings piercing her through he dress alongside the curly hair tickling her cheek was more than enough for her to know that it was someone she was yet to see all night.

"I'll dance with you."

Christian let out a breathe as he watched her walk away with Valerio over to the dance floor. His smile he felt like he'd been plastering on his face for way too long finally fell again. He grabbed his drink, looking around the club and seeing various people dancing and having fun. He didn't understand how everyone was able to move on so fast from Marina as if it never even happened.

When his eyes landed on Polo, he couldn't help but clench his jaw with anger.

How could he laugh, smile, and dance when Marina never would do any of those things again . . . because of him.

He was so focused on Polo that he barely even noticed Carla slide in the seat opposite him where Alaska was seated merely seconds ago. The two didn't say any words to one another, and the more Christian tried to ignore the blonde, the more he began to become frustrated with other things.

Like his drink.

"I don't like seeing you like this," she spoke, making him quickly retort:

"Well . . . let's see if you can pull a few strings to make me smile." With a sarcastic smile, he leaned forward, "that's why you want me by your side, no? So you can play me like a puppet."

Carla took a deep breathe and leaned even closer to him.

"Christian, I'm not with you because of what happened. Before that day, I had already kissed you .  . . fucked you, and laughed at all your bad jokes. I already really liked you. Why can't we go back to the way we were before?"

"Because before, Nano wasn't in prison because of me, sweetheart."

"They have no evidence against him, he will be released in no time."

"That's all bullshit. Prison is filled with plenty people like Nano. His only crime is not having enough money to hire some big shot lawyer."

"So what about you?" Carla responded, "do you want to end up like him? Because if you admit that you lied, you will be an accomplice to murder."

Christian felt a sudden heat overwhelming him and immense annoyance at the fact that she was right. This made him stand up and take a few steps away from her, just trying to escape her bubble for a few seconds because at this point, he was choking. But her 'comforting' words were doing nothing to relax him either.

While Carla continued on about his 'bright future' in America that she had the power to secure for him, the things she could do for him, and many more attempts to buy his silence but it still wasn't working.

He definitely tuned her out as he looked over the railing towards the club. And it was as if the mere sight of his favourite girl making an absolute fool of herself is what he needed to feel relaxed all over again.

Alaska's short but perfect ponytail she had in earlier was out and the hair tie was no where to be seen and instead, her hair was swaying back and forth as she had her fingers clasped around Valerio's neck and similarly, he had his around her waist as they swinged their hips playfully against each other.

What was most important to him out of anything was the large smile on her face. That's what made his heart grow fonder. Knowing that she wasn't happy all the time, still heartbroken, and probably had panicked on the entire car ride to the club yet had a massive smile on her face and genuinely seemed to be enjoying herself even though she may had been slightly drunk made him feel even more guilty about rejecting the dance from her.

He felt guilty because Valerio was making her smile and he wished that it was him instead.

"I find it funny how you prefer her company over mine."

Christian scowled again, turning around.

"Vete a la mierda."

"I hope you didn't tel-"

"Don't worry, I haven't gotten round to it yet."

"Christian," Carla coo'ed walking closer, "I don't want to fight with you but Alaska or Alejandro can't know anything. We don't know how trustworthy they can be and actually, I think if it's too difficult you should give yourself some distance from her-"

"Vete a la puta mierda." Christian cursed, stepping closer to her. Carla could toy with him as much as she wanted, but when it came to his Loski, it got personal.

"You've been pulling my strings all summer and this great life that you speak of,  if I have to betray my brother and stop being friends with my fucking girl to live it then it's not a life. It's nothing."

With that, he dropped his drink onto the table and walked on, having had enough.

-

The dance floor was definitely a force to be reckoned with.

As the vibrations thumped harder, each beat was adrenaline mixing with the ciroc from earlier that coursed through Alaska's veins.

"Are you having fun?" Valerio yelled over the music with a sarcastic smile on his face.

"Fuck you! Of course I am!"

The tall boy laughed, looking down at her as she danced not so coordinately and nor ladylike. But she danced like someone who left her worries at home, which is all he wanted.

"I love seeing you like this." Valerio complimented, leaning in closer to her so she could hear him better.

"You bring it out of me!"

It was possibly true. He definitely had brought out a side of her she needed so badly and she appreciated that. But Valerio didn't miss each glance his newly brunette friend took behind him towards his sister and her boyf- well, now ex-boyfriend. The look she tried to suppress revealed that she was still most likely hurting and all he wanted her to do was forget.

"If you keep staring at them, they might stare back."

It took a lot for Ala to get surprised but that did surprise her. She thought she was being slick and lowkey whenever her eyes drifted to Guzman and Lu who weren't dancing, but rather, Lu was standing in between his legs while he sat on the bar stool, daydreaming.

It hurt to see, but the pain was now a dulling ache. She almost felt numb to the heartbreak.

"It's, it's hard, Rio."

I know, but tomorrow is for worrying, today is for remembering who the fuck you are. You're Alaska Velazquez, and you're probably drunk, but you're having a sick time."

"I love you, you know that?"

"I only know that because I love you to- woah!"

Valerio was stopped when he gazed behind her towards the bathroom, making Alaska turn too.

Coming out of the corridor was Rebeka, the new student, and-

"Is that the hijabi? Shit, I forgot her name."

"Nadia."

"Shit, yes. Nadia! Damn . . ."

As Valerio rolled on, Alaska zoned off. He was right; Nadia definitely looked good. She literally had her hair down, and looked like she was enjoying herself a lot before and after she got here. It was nice to see, but the betrayal aura leaked off her for sure, making Alaska turn back to face Valerio.

One person who couldn't stop staring though was Alejandro. When he saw Nadia walk out with her dark lipstick and fluffy hair, his heart beat faster and faster knowing he was surely attracted to her in that moment.

The two had made eye contact as she walked towards the bar to Samuel, but it was very brief. Brief, but strong enough to reignite a flame they both thought was gone.

Rebeka was a different story, the club was fully pumping, and she was trying to teach Nadia how to play her smash or pass game. They laughed and giggled until her eyes landed on the petite brunette from school earlier who was standing by herself just seats away from them.

"Oye, bonita!"

Nadia nearly choked on the drink as she realised who Rebeka was calling.

"No no, Rebe. Why're you calling her-"

"She's all alone, she looks like she needs company. Bonita!"

That made her look sideways, noticing the taller brunette with the friendly wave on her face.

Completely sober, she would have ignored her completely because she stood with Nadia and it would be awkward for her to go over, but she wasn't even half as sober so she reluctantly walked towards them.

"Join us. You looked lonely over there. Rebeka, but call me Rebe." She introduced, extending her hand out for a shake.

"Gracias; Alaska Velazquez." Ala mumbled, taking the seat near Rebe, and shaking her hand.

"We were playing smash or pass, and right now," Rebeka paused, looking around the club, "he over there, I'd smash him after a sip of water. What about you girls?" Both Nadia and Ala turned to look at who she was talking about and when Ala realised, she instantly made a gagging noise and turned to face the brunette and shut it down immediately.

"My twin brother, next."

"Really, shit! I didn't even notice the resemblance until just now."

They continued on with their little game and even though Nadia wasn't too involved she caught herself giggling at drunk Alaska's comments every now and then which made her miss her even more. It was going great, well going great until Christian's appearance halted everything.

"Loski, I'm leaving. I just wanted to say bye before I left."

He was so anxious that he didn't even wait for a reply until he was off towards the exit.

"Un momento, por favor." Ala quickly said to Rebeka before setting her drink down and following after Christian until they reached outside.

"Christian!"

He didn't really want to stop, but he couldn't resist.

"What's up?"

"Nothing I just don't feel well right now."

"Are you sick or something."

"I-I think so, I just want to lay down and relax."

"Well then let me come with you, I can take care of you, come on." Ala said, attempting to grab the helmet from his motorcycle.

"Loski," Christian stopped, trying again to halt her from mounting behind the bike, "I love you, I do. But I just need to be alone right now because there's something I have to do."

Alaska looked at him confused.

Christian was keeping secrets and as much as she tried to ignore that thought all night, it was finally getting to her and he was doing nothing to ease her suspicions as he plastered on a fake smile and tried to pretend like nothing was wro-

"Christian, what the fuck are you hiding from me?"

The question/accusation took him aback but did not surprise him. He should have known that she was way too smart to not realise that something was definitely wrong with him.

"W-What do you mean?"

"Don't lie to me. You think I don't notice how you literally sulk around everywhere? How nervous you are about everything- joder, the fucking fake smile on your fucking fake face?"

Christian wasn't even hurt because she was right. He had been living a complete lie. All he felt was the disappointment radiating off her and how he felt scolded like a child.

"Christian puto Valera-"

"Varela."

"Varela! You better respect me now and tell me what's going on right this second."

Christian looked down at her, feeling that familiar guilt again building up from keeping his walls so high and neglecting his friends as well as his self for people who probably didn't even care about him to ever do the same.

"Mi vida, escúchame," he said, lifting up her right hand, "you mean so much to me and you're right, I've not been honest with you and I promise, I promise you that I just need tonight off. Just tonight, so that I can figure out how to say what I want to say to you, okay? We will talk tomorrow. I'll find you tomorrow."

Looking into his eyes, Ala could tell that whatever was bothering him was eating him alive. So when she noticed the sincerity in his voice, she clasped her fingers around his that was already holding hers, bringing him into a hug.

"You know I've always got your back. Always Christian. Take care of yourself tonight."

Christian didn't reply as he gave her a small peck on her cheek after they broke the hug, and he gently took the helmet from the bike handles and put it on.

"Tomorrow!" Alaska yelled as he rolled off straight ahead with full speed.

The rise of his thumb to give affirmation made her turn around and step back into the club to find Valerio again.

Unbeknownst to her, tomorrow was going to be far from anything she would have seen coming in a million years.

A/N:

know I said I'd try to be on time but oops, this took too long in my drafts. Next one is already underway because I'm so excited about season 2.

I'm really gonna miss writing about Ala and Christian's friendship because he's not a prominent character in season 2. I'll include him in some parts but obiously not too much.

Either way, I hope you liked this, if so, let me know!

QOTD: How do you guys feel about the cast of season 4? There's no Valerio so I'm heartbroken, but we'll see.
