80: Years Later

Young Forever - BTS

_______________

"JUNGKOOK! WHERE IS MY ROUGH DRAFT OF THE NERDS?"

"YOU HAD IT IN YOUR FOLDER!"

"WHICH ONE? I CAN'T SEE IT ANYWHERE! ARE YOU SURE YOU DIDN'T ACCIDENTALLY TAKE IT LIKE YOU DID WITH UNSTEADY  WHEN YOU MISTAKEN IT WITH YOUR MUSIC!"

Jungkook storms into the bedroom, running a stressed hand through his long hair as he looks over Jimin's desk with focused eyes. Suddenly his face falls and he looks at boyfriend, "Really? You can't see it anywhere?" And Jungkook takes the packet that was mixed with the mess of other papers on his desk.

Oh.....

There it is..

Jimin's lips gapped and he grabs the packet, his cheeks flushing a bright red, "I swear I did not see it!"

"I swear I did not see it," Jungkook mocks back in a high pitch, making Jimin shove him back playfully with an embarrassed smile.

Jungkook gawks back at him and takes his hand, yanking him to his chest, "Did you just shove me? How dare you shove the next star of the world?"

Jimin bursts into a fit of laughter and thumps his forehead with his finger, "A star to everyone's eyes, but to me you're still my idiot."

"Correction," Jungkook cuts in and wraps his arms around his waist, "I'm your lovely."

The smaller smiles back tenderly and presses his lips against his, "And I'm your angel."

It's been three years of intense hassle that the pair had to deal with; college, friendship drama, mental break downs and busy schedules. They were right when they talked about not seeing each other that often when they were in high school, even though they live together. However, they never fail to demonstrate their love whenever they get the chance to.

They still feel like how they did three years ago, if anything even more attached because of the distance.

Jimin has gotten an internship at a publishing house and with Mrs. Jeon's law off, giving him credits at school for it. At the publishing house, he has given them a few books he has written to be published and because of that, he's now the reason for the successful prosperity in the company.

His most famous book being named 'Flames' and then 'Unsteady', now he's writing a new book called 'The Nerds' and he's been very invested in writing it, almost finishing it actually.

As for Jungkook, he's working in his father's business company and has actually helped rise the marketing numbers at an outrageous rate, which was no surprise for Jimin since he knows his lovely has always been smart. He's still studying music and has released a few songs, but he doesn't want to be that type of famous where he wouldn't even be able leave the apartment or go outside without paparazzi's being in the way.

More so be able to reach out to people and keep his base small. His songs 'Euphoria' and 'Begin' has reached #1 in the charts and he's been getting well recognized and paid for it. His industry, JK's Entertainment, has been very effective as well. There's a group he put together by the name Got7 and they have been rising popularity fairly well.

They have this tendency to treat Jungkook like an actual child, even though he's their manager, but they give him his well deserved respect.

Even with the amount of money the pair has been getting from their jobs, they still live in their homey apartment that they got three years ago and have been doing things just like any regular person out there.

They've been stable and happy together.

Jungkook pulls away and nuzzles his forehead with Jimin's, "We're still going out tonight right?"

"Yes!" Jimin gleams and puts his book down on the desk, "You're still going out with Seokjin and Namjoon?"

"Yeah, but after that I'll be free," Jungkook assures and pulls away, "You're still going out with Tae for his wedding plans? I know Hoseok has been stressing a lot about it lately."

Jimin nods solemnly and instantly goes to the closet to grabs one of Jungkook's hoodies and slide it on, "Yup, poor guy is stressed as hell, but that's why I'm there to keep them motivated."

Jungkook giggles lightly to this and approaches his boyfriend, pressing another peck against his lips, "See to tonight baby."

And the pair split off to their own destinations, fighting off their own pain to have lied to each other's faces so smoothly. It really hurts them to have to do this, lying to each other for a while now on where they've been or who they were with. It's not like they want to, but some secrets are meant to be kept.

So many all is not so stable as it seems.

Until tonight, where they're going to be open and honest about it.

It's been going on for far too long, and they hate lying to each other.

The whole day passed by in a massive blur, and by the time Jungkook got back home, he was panting hard with his body in utter exhaustion, wanting nothing more but to just curl up in his bed and sleep for the rest of the night.

He really outdid himself today, even though he shouldn't have.

Minutes later Jimin arrives back, complexion completely flustered and his hair sweep back and away from his face messily than from how he left.

The two make eye contact for a moment, eying the state they both are in and didn't say a word.

Maybe he went to the gym with Seokjin and Namjoon...... In his jeans.

Maybe Taehyung had a lot of planning to do.

So with those comforting thoughts running through their head, they smiled and approached each other, instantly melting into their arms.

That was a close one...

"How did it go with Tae?" Jungkook asks, pressing a tender kiss against his boyfriend's heated cheek, not wanting to overthink his state.

Jimin gulps thickly and strains his smile, "Great, really exhausting," He sighs and looks up at Jungkook sweaty hair, also no wanting to overthink his state, "How did it go with Seokjin and Namjoon?"

"Good, gotta love spending time with them," He beams, his heart aching slightly, "So, lets get ready for our date, yeah?"

Jimin strained smile makeshifts to a genuine smile, giggling lovingly as he drags Jungkook to their room and stripping down as they go into their shower together.

Mind as well, saving water.

They may have gotten a little distracted a few time, unable to keep their hands off from each other or stop the sneak heated kisses here and there. Their desire for each other only grew and grew but they were on a tight schedule, so they had to wrap it up and quickly change into a formal attire.

Well..... Formal while keeping their style; Jungkook wears a pair of black skinny jeans with a black turtle neck shirt and a blazer over it, keeping his wet long her down. As for Jimin, he wore an olive green, loose button up shirt that's tucked in comfortably in his dressed pants, brunette hair brushed to the side and away from his face effortlessly.

As Jungkook stares at his boyfriend, he couldn't help but think of how utterly beautiful he looks right now. Jimin always looks good in everything, he's just so beautiful. This brings him back to that one time he actually had to chase Jimin around his room until he admitted that he looked good on anything.

And now...... Jimin can look at himself and the mirror and smile lovingly at himself, knowing he looks perfectly fine.

Jimin soon whirls around, meeting Jungkook's loving eyes and feels heat spread throughout his chest, straight to his heart.  He loves feelings this sensation whenever he catches Jungkook staring at him, it just makes him feel so..... confident in himself.

Someone really loves him this much huh?

Not just anyone, his lovely.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Jimin whispers, slowly walking up to him.

Jungkook continues with his marveled daze and cups Jimin's cheeks, "I want you to remember that you're the love of my life Jimin, okay?"

Why is he saying that to me?

D-Does he know?

The smaller smiles weakly and closes his eyes, "You're the love of my life as well Jungkook," and they press their lips together in a soft kiss.

Knowing deep down that this will be their last kiss to their beautiful relationship.

The two pull away, their own little light of their relationship ticking down second by second, and they're growing more anxious to reach the time of their confession, not knowing how this may result to each other. So with heavy hearts they walk out of the apartment and walk hand and hand down to the lobby and into Jungkook's car.

The air in the vehicle is thick, the two dozing off into their own world as they figure out the words to say to each other. Not once did they speak out or asked each other about their day, they just let the silence weigh them down as the rush of memories flashed through their minds.

More so right through their eyes.

They passed familiar areas along the ride; Jimin's old home, the familiar church, their old high school and the neighborhood of their midnight walks when they were young.

Such beautiful and youthful memories.

With the pressure building up in Jimin's stomach, he turns to Jungkook, "So, where are we going?"

Jungkook blinks from his distracted mind and glances at his boyfriend, "Somewhere special."

And nothing else from there.

Painful moments pass by and the car suddenly stops. Jimin looks outside, seeing nothing but a side walk and a few houses around, and his curiosity raised even more, seeing the familiar area of the park just up ahead.

Before he could even ask, Jungkook gently grabs Jimin'a hand, making him slowly turn to look at him.

And Jungkook's smile widens, "Lets go for a walk."

In this warm night of complete silence and tranquility, the two held hands as they walk down the familiar pathway of the park. The more they walked together, the more better atmosphere it felt between them; their conversations becoming slowly more lightweight and it just felt like how it was back then..... When they were just teenagers.

And now they're grown adults, entering their first few stages of life.

They got so lost into their own world that Jimin didn't realize where they were  until Jungkook suddenly stopped. Jimin furrows his eyebrows and looks where Jungkook's gaze is looking at, his heart nearly squeezing to the familiar two blossom trees and the rocky edge that separated the tender water of the river, up ahead showing the beautiful view of the city.

The spot where Jungkook found Jimin...... That night they connected, which is also the the night Jungkook defended Jimin from being assaulted in the alleyway.

This spot...... Is where their connection blossomed, just like these beautiful flowers from the tree.

"Wow, it's been a while since I've been here," Jimin chuckles admiringly, leading Jungkook to the spot right between the trees. The wind caresses their skin and the grass below them, making this scenery look much more precious than it already is.

Jungkook smiles softly as he takes it all in, "I remember I didn't even want to come to this damn park in the first place, but the guys really wanted me to come," He admits amusingly, slowly looking down to the spot where his younger self sat down with Jimin, almost seeing the memory play before his eyes, "And I'm glad I did, because I got to meet you better."

That was the first time Jungkook ever heard Jimin laugh, seeing the cute twinkle being his crescent moon eyes and the crooked tooth behind his wide smile.

He can almost feel how he felt at that moment, completely mesmerized by the beautiful angel.

Jimin turns his head to look at him, a flustered smile on his cheek and he leans and pecks Jungkook's cheek, "I'm glad I decided to come here too."

So the pair stayed there at that spot a while longer, just reliving those moment moments once again as they joked around their conversation and took a few pictures with the view. The stress of work and college didn't weigh on them at this moment, only the utter tranquility of being in each other's presence once again. After a while they continued off walking to their journey.

Despite the fact their both feel happy in their presence at the moment, that little voice in the back of their heads only continued to nag to their conscious.

By now both of their hearts are thumping in anxiety as time continues to tick by slowly. They know that this happy moment is about to reach a turning point, and they don't know exactly how to approach it.

Everything feels so perfect right now.

Just.... Refreshing after all of the problems that they had to face.

So why not make it even more memorable and travel all the way back to the beginning?

As they feet slowly came to a stop to their next destination, the nostalgia hit both of their hearts much more heavier than the spot on the park.

The bridge.

Here they are, to the beginning.

To this they didn't say anything unlike the park, only seeing their ghost reenact that scene before their eyes and only filling their hearts with a sense of...... Peace. Jimin has tried to avoid this bridge any chance he could get, but now..... This is exactly what he needed.

To face his younger past.

So smaller walked over to the same spot he was on when he was seventeen and breathes heavily as he leans over to the railing, staring at the same water he let himself drown in. He remembers all too well that feeling of wanting to die so badly, to just stop existing in this world for good.

What a bittersweet memory.

Now..... Now he wants to live and continue to accept various parts of himself that he didn't appreciate before.

Being in this scene right now just gave Jimin the confidence he needs for what he's about to say next.

It's time.

"Jungkook, I have to tell you something," Jimin whispers painfully, feeling his tears burn his eyes as his anxiety only grew worse and worse.

He can do this.

Just.... Be honest.

He bites his bottom lips down when Jungkook traps his body over the railing, arms around his shoulders with his face near his ear, "Yeah, me too Jimin."

Jimin stares at the river ahead with the beautiful park they were walking by, his lips wobbling as he closes his eyes, "Being by your side has made me the most happiest I've ever been  in my life Jungkook. I-I.... You sincerely have transformed me into a better person, showed me to accept myself in my own way, and I don't think I would even be here right now if it wasn't for your patience and consistency, I genuinely appreciate it so much."

Jungkook's own lips wobbled to his angel's tender words as he encouragingly presses a kiss against Jimin's head and holds him tighter. The smaller takes deep breathes and digs his hands into his pocket, letting more tears spill down his cheeks as he slowly pulls out a small navy blue box.

It's time indeed.

Jungkook's breath hitched his throat the second Jimin opens the box in front of them, revealing a golden ring with small diamonds right across the center, glimmering under the precious moonlight in this beautiful starry night.

"Will you marry me Jeon Jungkook?"

Jimin's heart is sky rocketing against his chest at an uncontrollable rate, his whole body falling into an immense sense of panic the longer Jungkook doesn't say anything.

Shit, what if he says no!

Was it too soon?

What if I startled him?

Suddenly Jungkook reaches into his pocket, pulling out a similar small maroon box and opens it, right in front of Jimin. A small gasp escaped Jimin's lips. Even though Jungkook can't see his reaction fully since his back is still towards him, he can vividly imagine the weak smile on his face and his tears glittering his eyes.

That explains why Jimin and Jungkook have been pretty secretive lately to each other. They've been investigating wedding rings, possible places for their wedding and upon other things in relations to that as well. Well Jungkook has also been working on a project just for them, but it all depends on Jimin's answer. Of course they had to lie so the other wouldn't grow suspicious, but now it all came down to this sensitive moment right here.

Where they were going to propose to each other on the same day, without even planning it.

This is so ironic.

Finally Jimin turns around, his cry baby tears streaming down his mochi cheeks as he stares at the ring in Jungkook's box.

It's the same ring Jimin bought for him.

They actually share one whole brain cell.

Jungkook suddenly chuckles amusingly, "Well, won't you look at that," He mocks and takes out the ring, "Guess we had the same idea going on."

Jimin breaks out a weak laugh and cups his lips with his hand, looking up at Jungkook with his hopeful eyes, "So..... Is that a yes?"

"Depends..... Do you say yes to me? Because I can just throw this ring over the river and you'll have to dive in this time to get it," Jimin laughs to this and nods eagerly.

"Yes, lovely, yes!"

Jungkook's smile widens and he slides the ring down Jimin's ring finger, "Then it's a yes from me too."

So Jimin slides in his ring as well and they molded their lips together, feeling an utter burst of happiness to this precious moment that they are sharing together.

The last kiss to their relationship, but the first kiss as an engaged couple.
