The Call - Regina Spektor

Jungkook holds the diploma in hand, a proud smile on his lips as he wears his purple cap and gown for this day of his graduation. Many people around him are celebrating with their families on this glorious day that their child finally graduated High School, now moving on to bigger things in life.

He did it.

He made it through high school, and now.... He will face what's left to come in the future.

"Jungkook!"

And he won't exactly face it alone.

With his smile widening, he whirls around to see a happy Jimin running towards him while shoving through the bundle of people aside. Jungkook couldn't help but laugh to this as his tiny boyfriend finally reaches him and wraps his arms around his neck.

"We are High School graduates lovely! We passed through hell and to now go onto another hell!" Jimin squeals joyfully as Jungkook hugs him back tightly before putting him down.

Jungkook leans and presses a tender kiss on his happy boyfriend's forehead, "Wow so exciting," He giggles in sarcasm that caused Jimin to burst out laughing in return, practically glowing in his purple cap and gown with the sun hitting him exactly at the perfect angle.

Jimin is such an angel.

These months that passed by that finally lead to this moment right here was anything but easy, but they held each other strong though it all. Jimin recovered rather well. He would get checked a lot through the first few weeks on the wound and slowly began to be more progressive with his movements in general. After four months he was able to run more freely and dance to his heart contents. Since they were closing in their senior year, they had to study and look for colleges for the next following years, and it was such a stressful time in general. Jimin ended up getting a whole scholarship to one of the colleges in Korea, while Jungkook also got a full scholarship for a college of Arts, only being a few blocks away from Jimin's college.

How convenient.

As for his business with his father, they made a deal. Jungkook would take over his father's company as the heir, but he would continue to pursue his love for music as well. So they made a branch for his father's company as an entertainment company. Jungkook would have managers to help him with his music and he will also be encouraging and accepting new artists to put their music out there for those who enter the industry.

He hasn't thought of a name yet, but that'll come when the time arrives.

As for Jimin, he will continue on with his years in college majoring Literature and minoring in law and Psychology. Mrs. Jeon has guaranteed an open slot internship with her in her office, in that way he will be able to get more experience in the law field. From there he plans out to become a social worker for families after trial who have been through a domestic abusive household to help aid them back to their happiness.

All the while writing his books as well.

They will face a lot of pressure, maybe even have moments where they won't see each other often by how busy they will be in college, but they have spoke to each other about that and have agreed to continue having on an open and honest relationship. Even if they may not communicate often, but to never stop voicing out any concerns or just anything that's going on in their lives.

To be their shoulder to lean on

They got this.

This is only another obstacle they must face, but they will do that together.

They will be okay, especially because of their love for each other.

"My boys are graduates!" Mrs. Jeon suddenly appears out of no where from the crowd, bringing both boys into her embrace before pulling back with a squeal, "Who's ready to face the most hardest four years of your life!"

Great...

"Mom!" Jungkook whines while rubbing his face annoyedly, " You're suppose to be motivating us, not making us dread going to college."

Mr. Jeon suddenly emerges from the crowd as well, a proud smile on his lips as he places his hand around his wife's waist, "Is she lying though?"

Jimin starts chuckling to Jungkook's dreadful face but then suddenly squeals with glowing eyes, "Mom!" The small boy runs to the direction of the familiar, now blonde, haired woman. A wide smile forms her lips the minute she sees her son and she hugs him tightly with a proud glint in her eyes.

Throughout these months Jimin and his mother began to only develop a stronger bond within time. She filed the divorce papers and now officially goes by Kim Yongsun once again. With that she also began to go see a psychologist to get through her trauma of what she went through all these years with Mr. Park, and she has recovered well.

Jimin suddenly hugs the woman standing beside his mother, who wears an equally proud smile on her face to the graduate.

Recovered all too well indeed.

Around two months ago Jimin's mother has started seeing someone by the name of Kim Jisoo. They met during a parent teacher conference and instantly clicked well. She knows about Yongsun's past with her husband and Ms. Kim has been nothing but supportive through it all, most especially since she's been through a divorce herself as well.

Suddenly to the scene, Taehyung approaches them and latches onto Jimin's body in a hug, wide smiles on their faces as the two females beam in utter happiness.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, Kim Jisoo just so happens to be Taehyung's mother.

After her divorce with his father, she apologized to Taehyung about her behavior while it was happening. She was not in a stable state of mind and has been emotionally frustrated by her marriage so she didn't mean what she said to him, and so they both went to counseling on how to improve their relationship together as mother and son, and Taehyung has been happier since then.

Regardless his father would be the one to depend on her for money since she has a professional job to keep her going, meanwhile he didn't do shit at all.

Jokes on him for losing an amazing women.

So with the two women developing a relationship, Jimin and Taehyung's friendship has also been sealed tight.

Mostly since they're practically brothers now.

"Ms. Kim Yongsun and Ms. Kim Jisoo! It's so good to see you!" Jungkook's mother gleams as she rushes over to them, Jungkook and his father trailing behind her as well.

Jimin's mom smiles widely and hugs the woman back, "You too! How you've been?"

Jungkook's mind completely blocked out their adult conversation of the four and turns to Jimin and Taehyung. This sudden feeling of appreciation consumed his entire feelings, not holding himself back from hugging the two in utter joy, "Fuck, I'm so glad to have you two in my life."

And he is.

They mean the world to hi-

"What the fuck are we then? You know what, I can't handle this unfairness," The three males break apart to see Seokjin with arms crossed looking away from them stubbornly, meanwhile Namjoon rolls his eyes to his boyfriend's sass.

Yup, the famous Namjin friendship are finally officially a couple, and they just love to rub it on everyone's faces at any chance they can get, mostly Seokjin while Namjoon is more on the laidback side. Let's just say Seokjin has always had a crush on the other male, and Namjoon always had feelings for Seokjin for years.

So, look at that, now they're together, thanks to Yoongi persuading them to ask each other out.

"Don't say that, come here," Jimin cooes as he paddles towards Seokjin, snuggling against his chest with arms around his torso.

To this Seokjin couldn't fight back. He smiles softly and hugs the tiny male in return, "Congratulations tiny."

The five of them stayed there for a while, discussing their plans for the summer before college is in session. They have mentioned of going to a trip before just the seven of them, but only briefly. Now it's something they actually want to do before they enter the stressful life of a college student.

Hoseok joined them moments later, wrapping his lanky arms around Taehyung's waist with a peck on his cheek.

Ah yes, the high school sweethearts are back together. After Jimin and Taehyung has settled over their friendship, and Hoseok talked things over with Yoongi, the pair has slowly came back to each other naturally. They started all over again, falling in love all over again, even though they already love one another since the start.

Since then, they've been much more stronger together than how the were previously.

As the rest spoke to each other, Hoseok ended up approaching Jimin, smiling tenderly as he pats his shoulder, "Congrats, you did it! How does it feel to finally leave high school?"

A relief smile escapes his lips, "So glad honestly, now I'm ready to face life with what's to come ahead."

"Hopefully dancing is still going to be part of that too."

Jimin shrugs, "Eh we'll see- Wait," His eyebrows furrowed together, slowly looking at Hoseok's widening smile, "H-How..... Wait, were you the one this whole time that would watch me dance in the studio?"

Hoseok chuckles lightly and sighs, "Well, I guess it's time to finally reveal myself huh? I was hoping you wouldn't notice."

So he was the one.....

It's always been Hobi?

This whole time?

"W-Why didn't you say anything?" Was all Jimin could must shuttering out.

Hoseok doesn't say anything first but then sighs, "I guess I've always been too shy. I thought you might've pushed me away or thought of me as a creep, so I kept quiet. However now that we are at the topic," Hoseok grabs both of Jimin's hands, a sincerely gleam in his eyes, "You are so talented Jimin. I've danced my whole life and I've never seen someone pour so much emotions or energy in dancing before. I admire you, I sincerely do, and please don't give up on that talent, it's absolutely amazing."

Jimin's lips wobbled slightly as inhales those words. It feels nice to hear it from a different perspective, it honestly does. Sure Jungkook tells him all the time how great he is at dancing, but to have someone that's not close to him that we'll just.... Say this to him..... It just feels warm.

And sentimental, but mostly warm.

So Jimin rubs his knuckles tenderly, "Thank you Hobi. That..... That really means so much," he whispers, only brightening Hoseok's smile as he pulls him into a hug.

Jimin has good friends now. Ones who care and cheer him on through his best while also being there through his worst.

In a more genuine environment.

Jimin smiles happily at his friends before his eyes as Hoseok goes back beside Taehyung, talking amongst each other, appreciating how they overcame their slight stumble and are now much more considerate for one another. Jungkook opened up about what's been going on with him, and they either didn't know that this was going or cried that they didn't notice, all except Taehyung who only carried guilt in his heart. After Jungkook opened up, the rest began to blossom their problems as well.

Namjoon has been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, so he would get fits of anxiety attacks every once in a while. He's been doing better though, but he would still get small episodes.

Seokjin has actually been battling with his own persona. He never told anyone in the group that he was raised by loving Christian parents, and he just decided to brush it away due to the bully he received at school before he met them. Now he's embracing who he is, and that's one of the reason why he feels so connected with Jimin. He understands the struggle.

As for Hoseok, he's stated that he's been feeling numb for the past few years. He always shows his hyperactive attitude to not worry anyone, but now he feels like he can openly be himself without putting on this sunshine happiness all the time. So he's slowly getting now, especially with Taehyung being his backbone through it and his friends.

Taehyung even opened up about his crisis with his family's divorce, maybe cried a little, but now he feels free that his friends now know what's going on and can understand his situation with more clarity.

They all struggled, and kept it hidden from each other.

Now they are genuine to each other, and have this sense of freedom to be themselves, and they love it now more than words could describe.

As Yoongi, he has been keeping more of a distance with all of them. Yeah every once in a while Jungkook or Jimin would pop in his apartment just to hang out or to talk, but he's not around as much anymore. When Hoseok opened up how he felt about him, he gave him advise instead and told him that they could never happen, never explaining why.

Even now as the six of them are here, Yoongi isn't.

However, how could Jimin and Jungkook's guardian angel hide from them? So that's how the couple noticed the now dirty blonde haired male in a distance, walking towards the exit of the field.

Where is he going?

Didn't he see them?

Jungkook and Jimin both glanced at each other and they didn't hesitate before running after him.

Today is a big day for them, he shouldn't be isolating himself like this, or at all.

After everything he's done for them and after everything they've been through, Yoongi deserves to feel wanted and loved.

So why is he distancing himself?

"Yoongi! Wait!"

The small male turns his head upon hearing his name, cap and diploma in hand as he sees his favorite people reach him before his eyes. Jungkook instantly hugs him tight, not wanting to let him go. It's so ironic the way of life at this very moment, from being the man that irritated Jungkook's whole cells in his body to being the man that he loves and cares for, besides Jimin.

Their friendship means so much to Jungkook, and he wants to understand why Yoongi has been distant so he can be there for him if he's going through a difficult time.

"Ah! Why are you being so emotional around me!" Yoongi playfully huffs, making Jungkook smile widely and pull away, along with Jimin who was hugging him from behind.

"We graduated! It's kinda the perfect time to be emotional," Jimin jokes as he takes Yoongi's hand, "Come! The other's are over there and-"

"I have to go."

Both Jimin and Jungkook's facial expressions dropped as they freeze in their step, trying to read Yoongi's expression either if he was kidding or not, but he is completely serious, only adding more worry to the pair for their friend.

So Jimin speaks up, "Go where? Why are you being so distant with us?"

At first Yoongi didn't want to say anything, but seeing the pleading expression behind Jungkook and Jimin's eyes only ached him more, "I didn't want to tell you guys, at all, I was just going to leave since I hate.... This... but.... I'm moving away.... So today..... This is the last you'll see me."

Something broke inside both Jimin and Jungkook's hearts upon hearing those words from their friend, especially in Jimin's since he is much more closer to him. That explains why he's been distant, so they would start to detaching themselves from him and it would be easier to just.... Leave.

Well, he's wrong.

Not once did Jungkook and Jimin detached themselves from Yoongi, so this makes the news so much more harder and painful to hear.

"What? W-Why didn't you say anything sooner? Where are you going?" Jimin bombards with questions, making Yoongi only gulp thickly and look to the ground with a heavy frown.

This hurts him so much to have to do this.

"I didn't want to get you guys much more attached to me, or me to you both, more than I already am," He shutters, rubbings his cap with his thumb before looking up at the distraught pair.

So Jungkook tried to see from the bright side, "Well, we can always visit you! And video call whenever you have the chance."

Oh his sweet boys.

How kind they are to him.

If only that was the case.

If only he could stay...

"I can't give you false hope but.... One day, yeah, you'll definitely see me again. As for now..... I can't tell you where I'm going, you're just going to have to trust me that this is how it's suppose to be," Yoongi assures with a forced smile, only making Jimin's eyes leak in tears.

Oh no he didn't want to make him cry!

Fuck this is why he didn't want to say anything, he didn't want them to be hurt.

Not them...

"W-Why does this feel like a goodbye? We will still talk, right? We can manage together! W-We need you Yoongi," Jimin whimpers with his pouring emotions, only making Yoongi swallow down the lump in his throat as he clasp Jimin's hand with both of his.

Yoongi smiles, "No you don't, everything will be fine, I promise," He whispers and looks at the two, "Well this isn't a goodbye, if you behave then we'll definitely see each other again, in which I don't doubt that. However as of now..... Communication won't exactly be too available for me."

Jungkook and Jimin knew better. They knew this is a goodbye, and they knew will never see their precious guardian angel again, no matter how much they're trying to understand.

However he did promise they will, so they'll hold onto that hope that they'll see him again.

As for now..... They have to let him go.

So with that the pair hugs their friend, their savior, their..... Angel for one last time. They let the memories flow in their minds, remembering everything Yoongi has advised and taught them, along with the beautiful joyful memories the three spent together along with the hard ones of the battles they faced.

They have something beautiful together, now it's time to remember them as just beautiful moments.

"Take care of yourself, wherever you're going, okay?" Jimin hiccups, making Yoongi's eyes start to burn in tears as he burries his face to Jimin's neck.

"You always will be our angel, thank you and we love you," Jungkook whispers afterwards, pressing a kiss against his head as the blonde haired male fights back a sob and pulls away, smiling as he wipes his tears away.

He will always treasure these two in his heart. They have showed him so many amazing things in life, made him grow and feel so hopeful.

They're precious, and Yoongi will always love them, no matter where he is.

They will be okay.

"Take care of each other, yeah? I didn't stress my time and patience for nothing," Yoongi winks, earning weak smiles from the two in return. After a longing stare, Yoongi slowly walks back and exits through the gates of the school.

Disappearing from Jimin and Jungkook's life.

Jungkook and Jimin stared at the spot where he was once standing, their hearts aching but they knew their older friend was going to be okay. For whatever reason he's leaving; if it's for college or somewhere new, Yoongi will be okay.

So Jimin leans against Jungkook's shoulder as they walk back to their friends, "He never said where he was going. Do you think he will be at peace?"

Jungkook remains silent for a moment, smiling softly to the thought of him and wraps an arm around Jimin's waist, "Guess somethings are better off left unsaid angel."

And that was enough reassurance for the smaller boy.

Yoongi is one tough and good person, wherever he'll go, he will only ignite in light. He will be a blessing to someone's life because of how wise and tender hearted he is.

Yoongi..... Is an angel, and Jungkook and Jimin will always see him as an angel in their eyes.

When they returned back to their friends, Taehyung and Hoseok instantly noticed Yoongi wasn't with them, "Where's Yoongi?"

Jimin gulps thickly and looks to the ground, while Jungkook looked away from his friend's faces that slowly dropped to panic.

Hoseok instantly steps forward, "Jungkook, where's Yoongi?"

"He's gone, Hobi," Jimin whispers, hands rubbing together with a clench throat, "He said that he has to go."

No words were said after that, and it didn't take long before Hoseok and Taehyung ran off to the gate of the school where they last saw the man talking to the couple, rushing through the parking lot in attempts to finding the smaller male. So much confusion and panic ran through their minds at once to the thought of Jimin's words, not understanding what the fuck it means, but that all disappears when they see the sullen boy approaching a white vehicle.

That was the first time they ever ran that fast in their lives.

How could Yoongi just leave without saying anything to them?

No.... No! They have to convince him somehow to stay!

T-They have to tell him...

Right when Yoongi was about to open the car, Hoseok shouts with his whole chest, "Wait!"

The smaller boy tenses up, slowly turning around to see the pair stopping a few feet away from him, now with confusing tears beaming their eyes.

This only weighs heavier in Yoongi's chest, but he blinks back his tears.

This is going to be so hard...

"Why are you leaving? Were you just going to go without saying anything?" Taehyung exclaims painfully, trying to understand the other's intentions behind this but he doesn't even understand himself.

Yoongi sighs heavily and slowly approaches them, "Sometimes goodbyes are too painful for me to bare, so I apologize for being discreet."

"You can't just leave," Hoseok says after, taking a step forward, "We want you here.... With us."

Yoongi's confused stare follows the way their hands interlaced together and Taehyung extends out a shakily hand to him, "W-We want you to stay..... Be w-with us Yoongi, p-please."

A massive wave of pain hits Yoongi's body, making his hand cup his mouth as he fights back his tears, not believing what is going on right now.

They want him to be part of their relationship.

They shouldn't have gotten attached to him.

That's why he kept his distance, so this wouldn't hurt even more!

So with a heavy heart, he shakes his head, "As much as I would like to... I don't belong with what you two have," He says lowly and shakes his head, "You have to let me go."

"Why!" Hoseok exclaims, the tears now streaming down his cheeks, "Just.... Why?"

Yoongi bites his lip and inhales a deep breath, "I only came here for one purpose alone, to be there for Jungkook and Jimin as they go through what they did in life. I'm done, and now I must go and start a new chapter in my life. Or how they phrase it as, be someone's guardian angel."

Taehyung bites his lip painfully to prevent a sob to escape his lips, "Then be ours! We can go through this new chapter together."

The smaller inhales deeply and shakes his head, "Just..... Trust me-"

"Yoongi."

All heads turn towards the white car, windows down to reveal the Kang family, who have been watching the scene with a pained heart, and Mr. Kang nods his head to Yoongi, "We have to go kid."

Time is up, he has to go.

Yoongi sighs heavily and looks back to the brokenhearted pair, "Stay together, be strong and love one another unconditionally like you both do already, okay?"

The pair didn't say anything, knowing there's no point anymore in begging anymore. So after a long debate in Yoongi's head, he said fuck it and strides towards them. He grabs Taehyung's face and slams their lips together. The taller was clearly surprised by the sudden act, but slowly wraps his arms around Yoongi's waist, letting the tears stream down his cheeks freely.

Yoongi pulls away, smiling softly as he caresses his cheek before turning to Hoseok and pressing their lips together as well. It pained him so much to have pushed him away when he opened up about his feelings, but this is something he has to do.

He must go with the Kang family and continue moving on to his purpose in life.

To be a good friend for those who need him, and learn many things along the way.

Yoongi slowly pulls away, staring at the glittering emotions behind Hoseok's eyes as he grabs both of the pair's hands, glancing between them with his own tears, "This won't be the last time we'll see each other, I promise. As for now, enjoy this relationship and life itself. It's going to get better from here on out."

And that's a promise.

The two males slowly nods to him and Yoongi gives them one last hug before approaching the car, seeing the sad smiles on Mr and Mrs. Kang's faces as they pull the windows up and Yoongi piles inside the car.

And they drove away, leaving many broken hearts behind but filling them with hope all together for their future, now to continue spreading their wings and fly to a new chapter in their life.
