10: Study Time Nights

All Through The Night- Sleeping At Last

_______

Jungkook stressfully sighs, gripping his hair in frustration as he stares at his homework in front of him. Calculus was never an issue for Jungkook, more like the amount of homework he has to do that hits him more. Did this teacher lose his mind to assign 20 sheets full of complex problems to finish in one day to the other?

20 SHEETS!

The worst part is that Jungkook has to show his work. These problems he can easily do in his head but noooo, the teacher likes to see if the student is actually trying and shit. He's done 10 sheets, 10 more to go.

"What problem are you on right now?" Taehyung asks from the floor, golden glasses over his eyes as he looks at the same calculus sheets.

Jungkook frowns disappointedly, "10a."

Taehyung groans loudly, "I'm on 15b and I'm losing my mind!" his slender fingers run through his blonde hair in aggravation, "What if I just demand to the teacher that I'm turn it in on Friday instead? That'll give me two days to figure this mess out."

A loud snort escaped Jungkook's lips, "He will probably listen to you."

"Yeahhh but I'm not going to do that, I'm a good boy," Taehyung winks and throws all his papers aside and turns to the raven, "So, where have you been this weekend?"

Jungkook bites his lips to suppress any emotions that were about to escape that moment. His whole weekend was practically spent with Jimin staying here with him. That night on Friday Jungkook didn't mention about taking Jimin home and so didn't Jimin, so he slept on the floor while Jimin slept on his bed; not minding it.

The next day neither of them wanted to leave the room, so they didn't. Jungkook would only leave whenever his parents summoned him, but other than that he was in his room majority of the time being.

Taehyung invited him to go to a party that night, but he decided not to go, much preferred talking with Jimin instead. The two grew a bit closer within that time range, learning more about each other. Jungkook got to know that Jimin's parents were indeed strictly religious people, always ordering him around and giving him a hard time most of the time.

He came to the conclusion that Jimin is someone that's very insecure about himself. Jungkook realized this by the dull way Jimin stares at himself in the mirror. Sometimes he would stressfully run his fingers through his brunette hair, as if it's the most disgusting thing he has ever seen. So Jungkook has sworn to himself that once they grow more comfortable with each other, he will start giving more compliments about his beauty, since Jimin deserves to know he's the most beautiful person Jungkook has ever seen.

If he says it now, it's most likely Jimin would slap him or see him as a creep.

So within time, that'll be in Jungkook's agenda.

"Nothing, just been here, taking time to myself," He says nonchalantly, not noticing Taehyung's bored gaze at him.

Jungkook hasn't mentioned Jimin's presence to his friends, something Jimin has told him not to do. There's something that always flashes Jimin's eyes whenever Jungkook would mention his friends meeting him, almost like a flash of panic. Jungkook could understand Jimin's fear, but he wants Jimin around too just like his friends.

In school, Jungkook would go up to Jimin whenever no one would notice, either giving his hand a reassuring squeeze or use an excuse to talk to him in class. Something that wouldn't be too obvious so those dickheads in school wouldn't bother him. Jimin refused to give Jungkook any names, saying to let it go, but he will find out one day.

One day.

Surprisingly throughout the weekend he hasn't had the need to cut, the urge somehow going mute. That is until Jimin when home that sundae night, it seems like everything once again ached. Jungkook sliced four cuts on each arm, breaking down crying as he scrolls through the message of people sexualizing him, everywhere. Saying he's so hot, so sexy, so fuckable. The list goes on. As if he wasn't even human. Making him feel disgusted with himself for letting it happen. Letting people call him that.

Just to be perfect.

"You've been okay lately? You haven't really hanged out with us lately," Taehyung says, curious eyes staring at Jungkook, observing him carefully.

Hard mask.

Jungkook offers his friend a small smile, "Yeah, everything is great!" That's so far from a lie, but he can't tell that to Taehyung. It's not that Jungkook doesn't trust Taehyung, but what would telling Taehyung do for him? Nothing. Jungkook hasn't even told Jimin about his problems. Just something about telling people that just doesn't sit well inside him. He's always been reserved to himself, hating the idea of people trying to fix him.

He doesn't need anyone to fix him.

He's already doing fine with his usual routine.

Taehyung offers him a soft smile and his phone suddenly buzzed. His eyes scanned the screen with a sigh, "Hobi's picking me up right now, apparently Jin's having a fashion crisis for this formal party this weekend," He says while packing up his stuff.

Jungkook furrows his eyebrows, "And he's stressing about it now because..."

Taehyung stops with a raised eyebrow, "Should that even be a question?"

Good point.

If there's anything about Jin, he's a fashion maniac. Anywhere he goes, he always wants to look his absolute best, nothing in between. He's probably the wealthiest out of all of them, and spoiled, but he is very humble. Jin doesn't like to rub his fortune to people's faces and that's something Jungkook appreciates from him.

"Wait what about your homework?" Jungkook asks as Taehyung rises to his feet.

Taehyung shrugs, "Most likely will finish it while helping Jin or in the morning," He says and leans over, pressing a kiss against Jungkook's head, "See you later sweetie. Don't stay up too late!" He says and skips out the door, leaving Jungkook back in his loneliness.

So, without any more delay, he goes back to doing his homework. Hours upon hours seem to breeze by and he two sheets were left, precisely the hardest questions he has ever seen. His mind falls blank, trying hard to remember how to solve it but nothing clicks. He sends the questions to Namjoon, but he didn't answer. It's midnight, he's most likely sleeping. Jungkook texted his other friends but either they didn't understand it or didn't respond back.

Great.

His body falls back, staring annoyedly at the ceiling. He can't give up, he has to finish these questions, now! The thought of receiving a low grade on this homework grade sends shivers down his spine, knowing exactly what awaits for him. Jungkook grabs his phone and begin to scroll through his contacts, trying to search for anyone that could help hi-

Jimin.

Jungkook sits up instantly to the thought of Jimin, realizing he doesn't have his number. Reluctantly he looks at the time on his phone, frowning deeply when he sees its close to being one in the morning.

He knows damn well Jimin will understand these problems in a blink of an eye. They have this class together too and the times he has put as an excuse to ask Jimin for help, Jimin never seemed to get the hint because he instantly solves the problem, so Jungkook has to back to his seat quicker than he wanted.

Jimin can help.

But he's most likely sleeping right now, and they arrive at different times for school, Jimin being late most of the time.

So, meeting up in the morning is a no go.

Jungkook groans loudly in frustration, thinking deep on what to do.

Well.... He could always...

He knows where Jimin lives...

But it's so lat-

Fuck it.

He wants to see Jimin regardless.

Jungkook shoots up from his bed and puts on a his sneakers and gathers his stuff together. Quietly he moves down the stairs and out the door, instantly getting in his car and driving away, that's when he thought well what he was doing. He's literally going to wake up Jimin just to help him with his homework. This is ridiculous. Jungkook began to feel kinda bad about it, but he wants to see Jimin too. Just to talk to him or something, anything. Just be around the smaller man. There's just something relieving when he's around Jimin, as if he can finally breathe properly without being judged.

Soon enough he didn't regret his decision as he parked in front of Jimin's house. All the lights are off in front of the house. What if Jimin is sleeping, how will he know which one is his window?

Jungkook gets out of the car and began to approach the house, thinking of all the possibilities on how to figure out which window is Jimin's. Seems like luck was on his side because when he came across the side of the house, he catches the brunette looking out the window with sparkling eyes. At first Jungkook didn't call him, more like admired Jimin for a moment. He looks so..... Beautiful. The moon light is caressing his face, his eyes appearing like dozens of galaxies for a split moment as he stares at the night sky.

That connection pulls Jungkook closer and he cups his mouth with his hand, "Jimin," He calls hushly but loud enough for the smaller man to hear.

At first Jimin just furrowed his eyebrows but upon hearing it the second time, he looks down and Jungkook could see the shock vividly playing his eyes, the urge to laugh fills Jungkook.

"Jungkook? What are you doing here?" Jimin hushly shouts back, eyes wide as plates.

"I wanted to see you, duh," Jungkook snickers back, "And kinda need some assistance with my homework, I'm desperate as you can see."

That's when Jungkook saw it.

A twinkling smile.

Jungkook felt like he melted on the spot to Jimin's smile.

Damn Jimin has him wrapped around his finger tips.

"You're such an idiot," Jimin huffs with rolled eyes, "I'll sneak you in through the fron-"

"Yeah no," Jungkook says dismissively, "What if your parents see me and throw a bible to my head hoping it'll burst me to flames? I'll climb up," His eyes scour around the window to thankfully notice a perfectly shaped latter attached to the house, as if made for these types of occasions.

Jungkook begins to climb the latter and climbs through Jimin's window, landing an epic failure of a fall to his face when his foot got caught with the ledge.

He could hear Jimin's hush laughter echo the room as he groans lowly and pushes himself off the floor, rubbing his forehead with a pout on his lips, "That did not go as planned," He huffs and lets his eyes fall to Jimin, who's smiling widely with amusement clear in his eyes. Jungkook will never get tired of staring at Jimin, taking in his whole existance. How did he never notice him before? Even dressed in just a plain t-shirt with baggy boxers, he looked like a whole course meal and a dessert all together.

Jimin licks his lips and sits on the bed, patting the space beside him. The bed is tiny compared to Jungkook's bed. Actually, everything about this room is tiny. The size less than half the size of Jungkook's room. It's completely clean and organized, but the creamy walls are bare, not a single poster in sight, but a cross is hanged up against the wall.

Right, religious household.

He has a small shelf with multiple books on it, making Jungkook smile slightly.

Of course he would like to read.

Everything about Jimin's room feels cozy.

Almost.... Normal.

So tiny, the perfect shape for him.

Jungkook sits beside Jimin and unzips his backpack, "I'm literally having a mental break down, close to passing out, full blown emotional distress," Jungkook states and takes out the calculus folder and takes out the sheet of paper, "It's been an hour and I can't solve this!"

What Jungkook didn't realize as he was too busy getting his stuff together is the fond smile on Jimin's lips, so intrigued and slightly giddily with Jungkook's entire existence at that moment.

Jungkook looks up to Jimin to see the smaller man blink at him and then glances down at the two papers. Not even a minute later and Jimin nods, "Okay, I get it, but Jungkook.."

"Yes?"

Jimin bites back a smile, "You kinda asked me how to solve this during class the other day."

That's so embarrassing.

Jungkook cheeks tinted rosy pink and he looks down at the problems, now seeing how they look pretty familiar. He's literally an idiot, but doesn't mean he doesn't need help.

They look like hieroglyphics to him.

"I'm sad to say that my brain is currently dead and is in need of assistance to reboots," Jungkook says, following with a confident head nod. His lips form a soft smile when Jimin only rolls his eyes and sits closer to Jungkook.

Just like that, Jimin began to tutor Jungkook over how to solve the questions. Jungkook couldn't believe how easier he understood it when Jimin explained it but not with the damn teacher! After doing the first four questions together, Jungkook was able to solve the rest of the questions on his own, asking Jimin for help every once in a while when he didn't understand something.

An hour later passes and Jungkook slams the sheets of paper on the bed, shooting up, "Finally! It's done!" He sighs, feeling a massive weight escape his shoulders. He won't face his father's wrath, everything is going to be okay.

All thanks to Jimin.

He turns to Jimin and tackles him in a hug on the bed, "You have no idea how much you saved my life!" Jungkook says, caressing Jimin's fluffy brunette hair, "Thank you for helping me."

Jimin actually saved his life. The tiny boy doesn't know how crucial it is for Jungkook to get good grades.

He'll do anything to not go back into that horrid room.

Jungkook feels Jimin's body shake with giggles as he hugs the taller back, "No problem, anytime."

Jungkook grins and peels off Jimin and lays down beside him, both staring at the ceiling. Nothing rings the air at the moment, only the silence of the night outside. It doesn't even feel awkward for either of them. It just feels like a calming moment for both of them. With the company of each other.

Jimin suddenly turns to his side to face the raven haired boy, "I have something to ask you."

Jungkook turns to look at Jimin, a small frown moving his lips to Jimin's unsure eyes, "What is it Jiminie?"

The small man sighs to the nickname, feel much more relaxed than how he was earlier and begins to awkwardly stare at the space between them, "Do you think people will love me more if I was different?"

Jungkook blinks at Jimin, taking in his words with a deep frown now. How could Jimin think of something like that? In Jungkook's eyes, Jimin is absolutely perfect, wanting to not change anything about himself.

"Jimin," Jungkook breathes, turning over to his side so he can see Jimin's face better, "I believe there's nothing to be changed about you... If people can't see how amazing of a person you are then it's their fault."

A small smile forms Jimin's lips and he looks up to meet his eyes with Jungkook's, "Really?"

I nodded surely, "Yes, I'm sure about that."

And just like that a frown forms Jimin's lips, "But I'm not perfect as Taehyung... People love him and I don't blame them... I just wish maybe I was as beautiful as him so people won't hurt me," Jimin admits lowly, a lost daze in his eyes.

Jungkook's breath hitches to the mention of Taehyung. Not expecting that what so ever. Staring closely at Jimin, Jungkook could see the guilt yet jealousy behind his eyes to the mention of Taehyung.

Why would he want to be anything like Taehyung?

Sure Taehyung is attractive, smart, rich, loveable, but..... He isn't Jimin.

There's something about Jimin that just.... Fits.

That makes him special in Jungkook's eyes.

He is special.

So Jungkook places his hand over Jimin's small hand in between them, gently caressing his knuckles, "People don't like what they can't understand. You.... You are so specially unique Jimin. You spark a light.... You don't need to be like Taehyung to be loved, just by being yourself is enough," Jungkook tells him sincerely, practically begging him to see himself through the raven's eyes, "You breathing alone matters to me.... You matter to me."

A small spark cascaded over Jimin's eyes. It was quick and in a fast motion but Jungkook saw it. He saw that spark of hope through his dim eyes. Something inside Jungkook's chest filled him with that warmness, that.... Feeling.

Something besides feeling empty.

Something...... Nice.

Jimin sighs and curls himself into a small ball, his hand still remains under Jungkook with no intention of removing it, "If only everyone thinks the same way you do.... Maybe I wouldn't feel so useless."

Jungkook only frowns, finally interlacing their fingers and curling into a ball as well, slowly feeling sleepy on the bed, "Don't let people define you, it will only ruin the beauty in what make you who you are," And just like that they both drifted off to a heavy slumber, with a small smile laying on Jimin's lips.
