Gone

A few days passed, and Florence woke up in her little cubicle, Daryl was sitting in his sleeping set-up, he made eye contact with her as she left her little cubicle and gave her a small smile as she sat beside him. Florence glanced around, seeing that nobody was nearby and rested a kiss on his lips. Daryl brought her head closer and rested a kiss on her forehead.

"Ya sleep alright?" Florence nodded and grabbed Daryl's hand. Her hand was soft against his, while Daryl's skin was rougher, clearly having been used more compared to Florence's undamaged hands.

"I did, did you?"

"Better than last eight months." Florence nodded, the girl took a breath, rested her head on his shoulder and smiled fondly. Daryl wouldn't admit it, but he changed his set-up slightly. It faced Florence's prison sleeping quarters more than before, he couldn't see the entire bed but he could see the end of it, which gave him comfort knowing that he could look after her if she needed it.

Hershel was still recovering, he was getting the hang of walking properly with the crutches. Mason and Beth were helping him out a lot, trying to get ready for Lori's birth.

The two walked outside where Carol, Rick and T-Dog were gathered. They made their way over, beginning to discuss the gameplan of the day, Daryl and Florence would be going scavenging while the new bodies that had turned up would be taken away. The group stared at the guard tower, knowing that Maggie and Glenn would be in there, clearly up to no good.

"Glenn! Maggie!" Daryl called, shaking his head as Glenn approached shirtless. They walked away, T-Dog caught Rick's attention seeing the two remaining prisoners approaching their area. Florence felt bad for them, yet knowing how everyone felt, she wouldn't be caught saying that aloud. They walked over, Rick ordering them to stop, Florence glanced at them and then back at Rick who didn't seem too pleased.

"We had an agreement."

"Please, mister. We know that." Axel began, Maggie and Glenn appeared behind them and glanced at the situation that was taking place.

"We made a deal. But you gotta understand, we can't live in that place another minute. You follow me? All the bodies, people we knew. Blood, brains everywhere. There's ghosts." Florence wanted to help them, she tried to understand that this place has been their second home for however long and these people, or at least most would've had to be close friends.

"Why don't you move the bodies out?" Daryl questioned, glancing at Florence who had a clear sympathetic look in her eyes.

"We tried. We did."

"The fence is down on the far side of the prison. Every time we drag a body out, those things just line up. Dropping the body and just running back inside." Axel seemed more desperate to prove a point, Florence could feel Daryl hovering closer to her, as if he were trying to reason with Rick who wasn't having any of it.

"Look, we had nothing to do with Tomas and Andrew. Nothing. You trying to prove a point? You proved it, Bro. We'll do whatever it takes to be part of your group. Just please, please don't make us live in that place."

"Our deal is non-negotiable. Either live in your cellblock or leave." Florence walked away, Daryl's hand brushing against hers as she left. Florence killed a couple of walkers on the outside of the prison, Daryl walked over to her, glancing at her with a certain look in his eyes, the man rested a hand on her face and brought her eyes to meet his own.

"I'm fine."

"I know ya not." Florence shook her head and rested a small peck on his cheek, Daryl took a breath and walked off. Florence continued shooting walkers near the outside of the prison, a little later Daryl walked over to the brunette.

"We're just gonna take out the bodies, I'll be back soon."

"Be careful."

"I always am." Florence smiled, and rested a kiss on his lips, heading over to the courtyard as Daryl walked away. The brunette girl began fixing some things in the courtyard, oblivious to the danger coming. Florence was away from everyone, her new spear resting in her hands, the girl froze for a moment hearing the familiar growls and hisses. The brunette swung the bladed staff around. slicing the heads off of two walkers, she grabbed her gun, shot a couple and ran into a building away from the others. Florence shut the door tightly, running up some stairs as walkers followed her,  immediately surrounded by darkness.

Florence slowly crept forward, feeling the floor out with her foot, trying to feel for anything on the floor, a scream escaped her mouth as a walker came out of nowhere, pushing her down a hole, falling to the floor beneath her. Florence landed in a bunch of smelly clothes that made her gag, however, there was a wet substance that cover her skin and that scared her. Florence quickly stabbed the walker that pushed her down, the brunette jumped as a light started flickering, she glanced at her hands and cried out.

The brunette was covered in blood from head to toe, she saw animal carcasses littered across the room, and she quickly ran into a broom closet, the only entrance being blocked by walkers. She slammed the door shut,  as walkers stood up from eating the animal carcasses and shut the door, shielding herself from the undead.

The brunette quickly pushed things against the door, and crouched down, sobbing quietly, Florence stared at the door scared. Shaking in fear, hoping it would all go away, the girl didn't know how long she had been waiting and didn't know if she were the last one standing, she hoped she wasn't, that would kill her.

Florence jumped seeing the door open, the girl sobbed involuntarily, shaking violently as she waited for the harm that would come to her. The walkers didn't stop, they were constantly there, hitting the door, trying to get in and trying anything to get to her. The brunette girl snapped out of her daze, she wedged the door open slightly and started stabbing each one as they appeared at the door. Florence walked out of the room, killing each one as she left the room.

Daryl's eyes landed on the girl as she appeared in eyesight, he was worried sick and couldn't find her anywhere. Yet here she was, looking around dazed and confused.

"Flo?" Daryl questioned.

"I'm not bit." She whispered, Daryl examined her body, not seeing any marks just blood across her skin.

"What happened?" Florence shook in her spot, Daryl grabbed her face lightly, causing her to snap out of her shock. He gave her a reassuring look, Florence took a deep breath, smiling as he just waited patiently.

"I was being chased by walkers, I was in complete darkness and I was pushed into a hole by a walker. There was a bunch of blood and animal carcasses in the room that I ended up in." Daryl hugged her, not caring about the blood, he soothed her gently. Trying to do her best to calm her down.

"Flo, there's a lake nearby, go into that, wash off get back here asap. I gotta find stuff for the baby with Maggie." Florence nodded, instantly stepping back so Daryl could do his job.
