Doll
Shane stomped over to Rick, shaking his head and pointing at him, Rick seemed to be doing his best to keep everyone calm but Shane seemed to be the hardest to keep controlled. Florence glanced at Mason who stared at the barn a little horrified and she didn't know what to do to help him.
"You cannot tell me you are alright with this." Shane hissed at Rick, shaking his head, the group stared at the barn all with different emotions.
"No, I'm not, but we're guests here. This isn't our land." Florence could respect Rick, he clearly had morals and didn't want to cause any issues.
"God, this is our lives, man!" Shane shouted.
"Lower your voice."
"We can't just sweep this under the rug."
"It ain't right. Not remotely. We've either got to go in there or we just leave. Now, we have been talking about Fort Benning for a long time." Shane tried persuading, Florence shook her head, resting a hand on Carol's shoulder.
"We can't go!"
"Why, Rick? Why?"
"Because my daughter is still out there." Florence stared at Shane, wanting to see how stupid this man could be.
"Okay, I think it's time that we all start to consider the other possibility." Shane shook his heading, smiling in irritation.
"Shane, we're not leaving Sofia behind." Daryl approached the angry man, shaking his head and trying to prove his point.
"I'm close to finding this girl. I just found her damn doll a few days ago."
"You found her doll, Daryl. That's what you did. You found a doll." Florence stepped in, angry with Shane and the fact that he wanted to give up.
"You're a coward! Wanting to run away! This is a little girl, she's gotta be close. You are still playing dictator! We aren't leaving until that little girl is found, Shane-" Florence stumbled as Shane shoved her, she fell into Daryl's arms and felt him pull her closer, the girl could feel Daryl's rage and it only seemed to increase with Shane's words.
"Don't talk to me you little whore, you've been a goddamn problem since you and your stupid brother got here." Florence had never been called a whore, she stared at him shocked and watched as Daryl pushed her behind him and tried attacking Shane but Rick pushed him away.
"I'm just saying what needs to be said!" Shane shouted at his group, the men started shouting at each other, Shane riling Daryl up the most. Florence pushed Daryl away from Shane and glared a the taller man that seemed to be doing more bad than good.
"Daryl's done a whole lot more than you've ever done. You've just been screwing whatever jumps on your damn lap!" Florence shielded her face as Shane went to throw a punch, Daryl grabbed Shane's fist and shoved him away.
"Raise your hand to her again and I'll fucking bury you in the ground." Daryl protected Florence's body with his own, not letting his guard down, the group all turned in fear once they saw the barn doors shaking rapidly.
They all moved away from the doors, Florence sat in her tent, sobbing quietly and curled under her blanket.
"Flo, can I come in?" Florence nodded seeing Daryl's face from the tent opening, Daryl sat across from her, staring at her and handed her a tissue. Florence smiled lightly, she dried her eyes and took a breath.
"Carol's lucky she has you looking after her," Florence whispered, smiling once she saw Daryl look away and glance down.
"She's lucky she's got you as a friend." Florence thanked him, glancing at him as he brushed her hair away from her face.
"If G.I Joe lays a hand on you, you tell me. I'll kill the bastard the moment I see him." Florence nodded, the girl pushed herself closer to Daryl and hugged him. The man froze for a moment before awkwardly hugging her back, Daryl pulled away and sat back.
"Back at the CDC, you told me that you had a shitty dick of a boyfriend in high school." Florence sighed, shaking her head and rested her face in her hands.
"Shane raising a hand to me brings back bad memories."
"I hope that fucker is dead- ain't no girl like yourself should be getting hurt by someone you love." Florence nodded, she dried away her tears and took a breath. Florence walked out of the tent with Daryl and grinned seeing her brother talking with Beth, they both looked so happy. Mason said something to Beth and she laughed loudly with a blush.
"I'm going to look with Carol. You stay here." Florence nodded, waving at Daryl and watched as he walked off. Florence was alone, Glenn was talking with Maggie, and Daryl was with Carol. Everyone else was by themselves and didn't want to be approached.
Florence grabbed the guitar from the RV, sat in the shade and softly began strumming. She sang to herself, finding peace in the music, something she hadn't heard in a while. The girl glanced to see Daryl walking back with Carol, he shot her a look and the brief friendly look disappeared as he spoke with the others. Florence quickly placed the guitar away, following the others. She listened to Shane, she shook her head and walked away. Shane grabbed her arm, dragging her back and grabbed the gun from her belt and forced it into her hands.
"You're gonna stop being a little girl and you're going to help us." Florence shook her head, forcing herself back and glanced at Mason. Everyone ran down, listening to Shane shout and scream at the group as he raved on about what the Greene family was doing with the walkers, Florence ducked to the ground as Shane started shooting the walker, Mason grabbed her arm and clutched to his sister just as worried as she was.
"Go get our shit packed. Now." Florence ordered, Mason nodded hesitating for a moment but ran off quickly as she shoved him in the direction. Florence was terrified as Shane let the walkers out, she watched as one by one they came out. Florence stood back with Carol, holding onto the woman, her gun resting in her belt. Florence flinched every time a bullet fired, she sobbed with Carol and they both held each other tightly.
The shooting stopped, and their whimpers could be heard amongst Hershel's sobs and Maggie's whimpering. The bodies were scattered amongst the dirt, Florence rubbed Carol's bag and took a moment as she saw all the fear from everyone. They heard a moan, a hand exited the barn door and the sight horrified her eyes. Sofia walked out, a cry of anguish exited Carol's mouth as she ran over leaving Florence alone. Daryl held onto Carol, Florence turned away with tears in her eyes and blocked her ears before she heard the gunshot. Florence's lip quivered as she heard Carol sob and stare at her baby girl with sadness.
