Avneet was shaking... Her hands were trembling but she stood there without showing any emotions. She herself said yes to all this... She knew what she was getting herself into. But she wanted to get it over with!

Rahul slid the diamond ring on ring finger holding her trembling hand so tightly that she froze in her place.

She faintly heard the claps of family members.

There she stood in front of the man who ruined her innocence once. She closed her eyes not wanting to remember the dreams she had with this man who was 10 years older than her, trapped her in his sweet talks... Made her sign the contract that would ruin everything for her... Only she knew what it took for her to gather courage to break up with this man. And now he was there standing in front of her as her fiance... Her soon to be husband!

She was looking beautiful... How will she not, Siddharth himself handpicked every piece of jewellery she was wearing. He made sure everything was perfect.

"Mom!? Where is mom?" Avneet asked before she continues the ceremony.

"Oh... Wait she is in her room... I will call her." Vaishnavi said.

Avneet nodded and looked at Rahul who looked unbothered.

Vaishnavi brought Anika... She looked so pale and weak. She was still grieving her husband and her son still not recovering was not any help. And in all these circumstances Avneet had not talked to her once. Siddharth took care of her... She was shocked when Siddharth told her his decision to divorce Avneet and marry her to someone else. And that too this soon!

"Mom...!" Avneet muttered in low voice. She didn't want to face her... Ever! She was guilty... For not being able to save anyone. She was the reason all that happened to her family!

But when she saw her in that state, so weak... She couldn't stop but feel more guilty. She walked towards her and said...

"I am sorry mom." She couldn't say any further.

"Congratulations!" Her mother said.

"Mom... It's not what you think... It's just..." She tried to explain.

"I know Avneet... There must be some reason. I trust you." She said. Before kissing her forehead.

"Can we go ahead with ceremony then?!" Siddharth interfered.

Avneet nodded. And came back in front of Rahul and they continued the engagement.

Avneet also slid ring on his finger hesitantly.

"Give it up for this beautiful couple!!!" Siddharth said and popped off the champagne and everyone there cheered.

Engagement party went for like 2 hours and guests were congratulating the couple.

Rahul seemed to be enjoying it very much, whereas Avneet still looked emotionless. She just nodded to every blessing. Rahul never left her side and his hand on her waist as she was his prized possession he wanted to show off everyone.

As soon as guests left. Rahul pushed Avneet against a pillar. He holds her neck harshly pulling her closer to kiss her.

"Rahul... I am not feeling well... Can we please not today." She said pushing him away.

"Don't you dare push me away ever again. I do not care how are you feeling or do you want it or not... If I want it you will do it! Do you get that slut?!"

He dug his finger into her arms to hurt her. She very well knew what he meant. It was all him... Everything was about him, what she felt never matters... She was just a slut for him to use.

He started kissing her neck leaving red marks and she stood there lifelessly.

Only she knew how difficult was for her to get out of this toxic relationship when she was so in love or maybe too attached to him.

Why it had to be him that Siddharth chose for her. Of course he paid Siddharth a ton for her or maybe Siddharth already knows that's why he is doing it to take revenge.

She sighed before looking at person in front of her raging with anger and his eyes full of lust.

And then here she was again falling into the same pit she dig herself.

She made mistakes which can't be redeemed. Some path she chose as young teenager will ruin her life forever, not only hers but everyone around her.

"Pardon me for interupting the steamy moment of yours." Avneet pushed Rahul away as soon as she heard Siddharth. She tried to read him but he didn't look bothered at all or maybe he was doing actually really good job at hiding it.

"Mr. Nigam... Sorry for inconvenience. Come Avneet we will go elsewhere." Rahul said with smile which looked fake.

He held Avneet's wrist and pulled me along with him and she followed as lifeless doll.

Siddharth who was standing on door didn't give them way making Rahul confused.

"Mr. Raichand, you cannot touch my property until we have signed the deal. And I suppose we have 1 week left for that. It will be better if you calm your hormones and be in your fucking limits till then. She is mine right now." Siddharth said adjusting Rahul's collar, more like threatened him.

Rahul's grip of Avneet loosened as fear creeped in... He was standing in front of mafia king... Who looked very pissed at very moment.

"You are right... Mr. Nigam. I am sorry... I promise I haven't crossed my limits yet. I will leave now." He said and left the room.

Avneet was shocked. Rahul she knew was very powerful, he had underground connections and everyone feared him. Seeing Rahul act so scared in front of Siddharth was indeed very shocking.

Was Siddharth actually that powerful?

Siddharth didn't say anything but walked to bed and lay down on his side.

"Why him?" She asked her voice only loud enough for him to hear and no emotions on face.

"No reason. He just offered me a good deal. It seems you knew him already. And you two are really close. Good for you!" He said.

"Is that it?" She asked.

"Hmm." He said.

"Siddharth... I hope you know that I am doing this for my mom, my brother, Reem... If anything ever happens to any of them..." She couldn't say any further.

"I know. I will make sure everyone is safe until you oblige." He said.

"And about Rahul... Do you like him?" He asked.

"Does it matter?" She let out a sad mocking chuckle.

He stood up and walked closer to her.

"I want to know how do you know him." He asked. His voice sounded much darker.

"He was my first." She said as a lump formed in her throat.
