"I can't leave them at home, but if someone finds them at school I'm utterly screwed!" I mumble, paving around my room. Gold sits in the closet, watching as I pace around my room at four in the morning. I sit down on my desk chair and turn on my computer, looking up my school's website.
I click on the handbook and scroll to the part about the rules, reading through them. I realize that there isn't anything that says you can't bring an animal to school and I smile, walking over to Gold, who's now relaxing on my bed.
"You're coming to school with me!" I whisper to them excitedly. They look up and me and almost seem to smile at me. I gently pet their head and look at the clock on my computer, seeing that it's already five. I decide to take a shower so I lock the door to my room, not wanting my mom to walk in and see Gold walking about.
I walk into my connected bathroom and take a shower, quickly getting out and wrapping a towel around myself. I walk out of the bathroom and pick out an outfit, changing in the closet. I walk back out and hold my arms out, letting Gold decide if it's a good outfit.
They nod and I smile at them, walking over and petting them on the head. I check the time and decide that I have time to do a little research to find out what gender Gold is. I look it up and then walk over to Gold picking them up and looking them over.
"Sorry Gold," I say as they glare at me. I finish and walk back over to the computer, looking through the articles and figuring out that Gold is a girl. I nod and turn off my computer, grabbing my backpack from off my chair and setting it down on my bed.
Gold walks over to my laundry basket and pulls the small bag out of my pocket. She picks out one of the bracelets and walks over to me, dropping it in front of me. I pick it up and slide it into my wrist, realizing that it fits perfectly.
It's a black band with purple and yellow stones on it. Gold brings over the bag and I put it in a pocket of my backpack as Gold jumps into my folder. I pet her before closing the bag and walking downstairs. I smell my mom cooking and I quickly set my backpack down by the front door before walking into the kitchen.
"French toast and bacon," she says before I can even ask what she's making. I smile at her and she kisses me on the forehead before handing me a plate. I think her and sit down, eating my food and putting a few prices of bacon on a napkin to feed to Gold.
I put the napkin in my pocket before walking over to the sink and putting my plate in the soapy water. My mom kisses me on the forehead before telling me to go to school. I walk out of the kitchen and put on my shoes by the front door, slipping pieces of bacon out of my pocket and feeding them to Gold.
"Bye mom!" I yell as I put my backpack on my shoulders. I walk out the door and lock it, starting the walk to school. I get lost once or twice but quickly figure out where I am. I make it to the school and throw my napkin into a trashcan by the gates.
I walk along the crowd of people, trying not to bump into anyone. I walk up the steps of my high school and quickly walk through the halls, trying to get to my first class before the bell rings and everyone gets hectic. I walk inside just as the bell rings, the only other person already in the class is a girl with short brown hair.
The pixie cut looks good on her and complements her. I look around and see that not even the teacher is here yet. I take off my backpack and set it down beside my chair, hearing Gold meow at me as I set it down. Our of the corner of my eye I see the girl look up at me in shock.
I pretend not to notice as I reach into my bag and move Gold slightly so I can grab my folder. She meows again and the girl looks up, staring straight at my backpack. I pull my folder out and zip up my backpack, setting my folder down on my desk.
"Do you have a cat in there?" She asks, her voice soft and quiet. I look up quickly and shake my head no. She goes to say something but then people start walking into the classroom. The teacher walks in and smiles at all of us.
The bell rings and he starts class, talking about the periodic table of elements. I write down the notes and then quickly do the worksheet, knowing that the girl is still watching me. I put my pencil down and wait for the class to be over.
I feel someone tap my shoulder and I look up to see the boy next to me holding out a note. I raise my eyebrows and he shrugs, handing me the note. I take it and put it on my desk, unfolding the paper and smoothing it out.

I look over at the girl but she's doing her work and I decide to not interrupt her. I put the note in my backpack along with my folder, seeing that there's only a few minutes before the bell rings. I check over my worksheet one more time out of boredom.
The bell rings and I quickly get up, grabbing my backpack and putting it on my shoulders. I grab my worksheet off my desk and hand it to the teacher before walking out of the classroom. I walk to my next class, deciding that I'm going to talk to 'B' after school.
I quickly text my mom that I'm hanging out with a friend after school so she doesn't get worried and walk into my next class, wondering if the 'B' knows about Gold.
