"Cloud, wake up!" I hear a voice say. I reluctantly open my eyes and see that Bree is standing over me, her hands resting on my shoulders. I sit up and look around the room, simultaneously rubbing the sleep out of my eyes as I do so.
"The queen wants to meet us in two hours," she says to me. I nod and get off the bed, walking into the bathroom to take a shower. As soon as e first few drops hit me, I'm awake and ready for the day. I wash up and get out, quickly getting dressed in some clothes that Bree out on the counter while I was in the shower.
I walk out of the bathroom and see that Gold and Bree are ordering food from the podium. I walk over and wrap my arms around Bree's waist, resting my head on her shoulder as they order breakfast. The order goes in and a cook informs us that it will arrive in half an hour.
Bree turns around in my arms and plants a quick kiss on my lips before walking over to our bed and sitting down. She takes out her phone and plays a game when a message comes to the podium, informing us of our appointment with the queen.
"Well it only took them two weeks," Gold says sarcastically from where she's sitting by the podium. I snort and nod, seeing Bree smile from the corner of my eye. I walk over and sit down beside her, watching as her fingers fly across the screen as she plays a game.
After a while there's a knock on the door and I get up to open it. A lizard wheels in A cart full of food and leaves it in the middle of the room I thank them as they walk out and they smile at me as they close the door behind them.
"Yay, food!" Bree exclaims, looking up from her phone and seeing the loaded cart. I smile and shake my head, walking over to the cart and putting some food on plates for me and Bree. There are some raspberry pastries on the cart, like the ones that we took back to the hotel from the picnic when I asked Bree out.
Bree smiles at me as she picks one up off of the cat and takes a bite of it. I shake my head and smile back at her, taking my plate over to a small table and setting it down. I sit down on one of the stones and eat a forkful of eggs while watching the hologram that Gold puts up.
Bree sits down beside me and we all eat in silence, watching as the hologram plays out. It's almost like a try not to laugh video but instead of having humans in it, it's all talking reptiles. I shake my head as Bree and Good crack up over the video and I pick up a raspberry pastry from my plate and take a bite.
We finish our food and then walk out of our room, following a lizard to where we are going to meet the queen. I brush my shirt off, making sure that I don't have any crumbs on me. I reach over and grab Bree's hand as we walk down the hallways, drawing the attention of a couple of reptiles as we walk by.
Most of them have gotten used to the two humans and a lion being in their castle but some still haven't seen us before. The lizard brings us to a huge door and two guards let us through. The queen sits at her throne, coiled up on the seat of it.
"Well what do we have here?" The queen asks, slithering off of her throne to stand in front of us. She waves the lizard away and they now before walking out of the room, the guards closing the door behind them. The queen turns back to us and smiles.
"I assume you would like to know the whereabouts of the cat kingdom, yes?" She says. I nod and we follow her over to a podium by her throne. She sets her tail on it and the hologram shows up. She spins the holographic globe around before suddenly stopping it and jabbing her tail at the hologram.
"That are staying here with the dog kingdom. They are most likely staying there," she says to us. Gold looks over at the snake happily as she tells us where they are. She shows Gold the way that she would need to go and pulls up some old pictures of their planet.
"Though, it is a long way away. So you may have to stop at the rodents kingdom to replenish your energy," she says to Gold. Gold frowns a bit but nods, listening as the queen shows her how to get to the rodents kingdom.
"Let's call the rodents queen so she knows that you are coming," she says to us, pressing some buttons that pop up on the podium. We should have asked the other queens to notify the next planet we were going to as it would have saved us a lot of time.
"Hello Queen Python! How may I be of your assistance?" The queen of the rodents says. She's a small gerbil with a tiny flower crown that sits on her head. The hologram of her looks over at us and her jaw drops in shock.
"Queen Gerbil, this is Princess Gold and her two humans," Queen Python introduces. Gold looks at us apologetically as Queen Python calls us her two humans. I shrug and pat her on the side, silently reassuring her that I don't mind.
"They need a place to stay before teleporting to the dog kingdom from here. They will be leaving my castle in about two hours," Queen Python says to Queen Gerbil. She nods and calls someone over, talking to a small rat for a minute.
"Okay, the accommodations are set up for when they get here," Queen Gerbil tells the reptile queen. Queen Python nods and ends the hologram before turning to us. She picks up a rattle with her tail and shakes it, the doors to the room opening and reptiles walking inside.
"Replenish their food and other supplies before they leave," the queen says, pointing at Gold. The reptiles nod and scurry about the room, grabbing supplies and putting them into the saddle bags. One gecko tries to take out our clothes to put more food in but Bree quickly stops them and tells them that we need our clothes.
I laugh quietly and she glares over at me. I cover my mouth and shrug, still trying my hardest not to laugh. The reptiles get done and the queen decides that it is time for us to leave. We get onto the saddle and look at the queen who is sitting on her throne.
"Thank you!" I call as Gold starts running around the room. The queen nods and smiles at us just as the yellow light gets too bright for me to see through. We make it to the rodent kingdom and I look around as rodents try to sell stuff in the market we teleported to.
The air smells like all kinds of bread and fruits, an intoxicating smell that leaves me somewhat sleepy. Gold looks up at us and smiles, starting to run around the market.
