Chapter Nineteen- Lobelia Girls' Academy

As I pack up from my morning class I see girls circle around Haruhi. I walk up to her and wave to the girls. "Really? All the afternoon classes have been cancelled?" Haruhi asks.

"You mean no one told you?" One says.

"It's going to be crazy around here for the next two days. Ouran is hosting an exposition for the cultural clubs," The other says.

"Drama and choral clubs from a bunch of other schools have been invited," The first one says.

"Yeah," I tell her, "It's a big event this school hosts annually... I personally love it. I think you will too."

"Is that so?" Haruhi asks.

"What? You've never tried it?" They twins ask loudly. I look back and see them and poor Renge.

"Didn't anyone tell you that it's the preferred drink of the host club?" Hikaru says to her.

"And you are our manager, so you should drink it too," Kaoru says.

"That poor girl," I sigh.

"Um well, I-I think I've heard of instant coffee before. Oh, that's right," Renge says, "Isn't that one coffee beans that have already been ground for you?"

"Bzzzt!" They say.

"That's just ground coffee. Instant is something completely different. I don't even think there're any coffee beans in instant coffee. You just mix this powder with hot water and drink it. You don't have to brew it. It's pretty awesome," Hikaru explains. I join them as Haruhi packs up her things.

"So, it's basically just like coffee, but not as robust," Kaoru says.

"And yet it's so strangely satisfying," I tell them, "like weirdly amazing."

"Now that you mention it, we just ran out of it, didn't we?" Kaoru asks.

"Yeah we did," I confirm. He and Hikaru look at Haruhi.

"Go buy us some more, Haruhi," They demand.

"Oi be nice," I tell them.

"Why do I have to go get it?" Haruhi asks.

"Because you're the only commoner. No one else knows where to buy it," Hikaru says.

"We've even been serving it to our guests lately," Kaoru says, "And besides, it's part of your job."

"But the cultural club exposition starts soon," Haruhi says.

"Yeah, but it's not mandatory. So if you're not interested, you don't have to go," Hikaru says.

"And with that being said," Kaoru says.

"Be careful out there," They say. I roll my eyes and look at Haruhi.

"Can I come with?" I ask her, "so they aren't always bothering you to do it." She nods.

"If you want," She says. I smirk.

"I do," I tell her, "and since I'm not wearing the ugly banana dress I won't stick out as much."

"You still will," Haruhi mumbles.

"Thanks for helping them out you guys," One of the girls talking to Haruhi says.

"No problem. I just wish they'd buy their own instant coffee," She groans.

"Well, I don't know if that'll ever happen but I'm glad they seem to be having a good time."

"And it's all thanks to you guys."

"All thanks to us?" Haruhi and I ask.

"We've been in the same class with the twins ever since middle school... Like you Y/n... They didn't used to be this cheerful and friendly. They were always quiet and withdrawn. They didn't have many friends. It's like they didn't want anyone to get too close. I don't think they liked school very much. They seemed so bored by it. I guess things started to change when the host club was created. Since then, they've come out of their shells little by little," The girl says.

"Really?" Haruhi asks. I nod.

"But they really opened up since you've joined host club. And since they are getting closer with you Y/n," She says, "Now they talk and joke with everyone in class. That's why we wanted to make sure you knew how grateful we are to you. Because of you, the twins are having fun and enjoying each day to the fullest." I smile at her and bow slightly.

"They are helping me too," I tell them, "well this was a lovely chat ladies. We should get going." They nod and mumble goodbyes as I lead Haruhi out the door. Then she takes lead. We walk from the school a little ways until we reach a small store. She picks out everything and leads me to the register were I pay for her. Them grab candies for myself.

"You don't seem so surprised by everything," Haruhi says noticing my humble actions.

"I come her after school every so often," I admit to her, "I buy these candies and take a walk in the park nearby and I try to act normal."

"Normal?" She asks as we walk back.

"Not this rich kid at this snobby school who flirts with people for her club," I say to her, "sometimes I wish I was a normal commoner kid. Not this show boat prize item."

"Care to elaborate?" She asks. I chuckle.

"I heard my parents over talking the other day about my engagement options," I admit to her, "and I hate that they feel as if they get to choose who I spend my life with. Because what if I've fallen for someone else-"

"You have haven't you?" She asks.

"What?" I ask her blushing madly.

"You've fallen for Hikaru haven't you?" She asks. I roll my eyes and look away from her.

"What makes you say that?" I ask her.

"I assumed," She says, "I've caught you holding hands and such."

"Regardless," I say quickly, "I should be able to have more control over my life than they are granting me and I hate it."

"I understand," She says, "I mean if I was forced to Marry someone I would be upset too."

"Well I refuse to let them sell me off like stock," I tell her.

"Good for you-" Haruhi says as she starts to slip. I try to help her but the bag in my arms prevents me. But some chick helps her before I can.

"It would be a shame if any harm would come to that cute face of yours, young lady," The girl says to Haruhi.

"Thanks," Haruhi mumbles.

"Hello," I tell the girl, "I'm Y/n L/n 1st year. And this is Haruhi Fujioka."

"I'm Benibara," The lady says, "Lobelia 2nd year."

"Lobelia Girls Academy," I say, "impressive.... We need to get these to our club but It was nice seeing you-"

"What club?" She asks.

"The Host Club," I say proudly. She smirks.

"Actually how about I come with?" She asks.

"Sure," I say. I lead her and Haruhi up to our club. Meeting the boys in knights armor and two Lobelia girls.

"Maybe, something like 'I would never leave my lover alone,' If we fight, it'll be together. If we fail, we fail together. Even if I were to die, I promise you that I will never leave your side, my love," Benibara says kissing Haruhi's hand then mine.

"Benibara, we thought you'd never show," One of them says

"What are we going to do with you? So tell us where you found these lovely young ladies,"  The other asks.

"I just met them outside of the school. They may be dressed as boys, but I knew the truth. She has such pretty maidenly eyes," Benibara says to Haruhi and looks to me, "and she as such delicate lovely features."

"Uh thanks, I guess," Haruhi mumbles.

"Wait what the hell are you saying I look like a boy?" I ask them. The girls harass us touching our arms and such.

"Wow, her skin is incredibly soft," One says about Haruhi.

"And she smells like roses," The other says about me.

"Okay no no no no," I mumble as I pull away. I take the bag of coffee and sit it down before returning to the madness.

"I think these two  going to be little diamonds in the rock," The other says.

"Don't go touching my Haruhi without asking my permission," Tamaki says.

"Yeah hands off our girls!" Hikaru yells.

"Leave them alone," Benibara says punching Tamaki.

"She punched me. She's so violent," He whimpers.

"Hey no one gets to punch these losers but me!" I say to the Lobelia girls.

"Guess the rumors we heard are true. You guys are just a bunch of weak little punks with no sense between you," Benibara says.

"Those uniforms. I assume you ladies are from Lobelia girls' academy," Kyoya says.

"That's correct," Benibara says.

"Lobelia!" They sing. As they rip of their uniforms to reveal costumes.

"St. Lobelia academy, high school 2nd-year, Benio Amakusa," Benibara says.

"2nd-year student, Chizuru Maihara," The one now known as Chizuru says.

"1st-year student, Hinako Tsuwabuki," The other aka Hinako says.

"Lobelia!" They sing.

"We are the members of St. Lobelia academy's white lily league, also known as..." Benibara says.

"The Zuka club!"

"The Zuka club?" Tamaki asks.

"Oi," I groan as I sit down on the couch to watch this unfold.

"Oh man, what a stupid name. The Zuka club. My stomach hurts," Hikaru says laughing.

"The Zuka club. That's priceless. And they had those get-ups on under their uniforms," Kaoru says laughing too. Tamaki was on the ground. This was a mess.

"You shouldn't underestimate the Zuka club," Renge says. Her rig raising again.

"She gets a rig that follows us everywhere and I get the copyright for a song every 2-3 episodes!" I scream at Kyoya who shrugs.

"I may not know much about instant coffee, but I'm fascinated with girls' schools," Renge says, "St. Lobelia academy, it is truly a woman's world there. The Zuka club is a group of strong young maidens who consider women to be superior in every way. The club prides itself on its 30 year history. It's a society of maidens, by maidens, for maidens. The Zuka club activities include maidens' tea parties, the maiden debate forum, and most importantly, musical reviews performed by the society's top members."

"You sure have a vast world of knowledge, Renge," Kyoya compliments.

"Well, I've always admired St, Lobelias. I just couldn't go to school there, though. What would I do without any boys?" Renge asks as she decends.

"A maiden's beauty. It means possessing a spirit pure enough to not give in to power or to lust."

"As a girl, you... For a girl, you... We've had quite enough of all your oppressive male contempt for woman kind."

"And our pride... comes from having meaningful relationships based on equality. Because with the same sex. And yes, that includes relationships of love."

"Yeah, you tell them, Benio."

"You're awesome, Benibara."

"Whatever. We're so over it," Kaoru says as he and Hikaru join me on the couch.

"Why don't you gals just scram?" Hikaru says he plays on his game.

"Jump," I say as he goes through the level. I rest my head on he shoulder as I watch him play. "They're still here?"

"I find it hard to believe that you silly boys have nothing to say about our sublime female love."

"What the hell is she talking about?" Hikaru asks.

"They like vagina," I say outright no censoring.

"Oh okay," Hikaru says.

"Hey, I haven't seen this one before. I guess it's a new one," Kaoru says.

"Let me see it," I tell him he shows it to me and I nod, "oh yeah I picked out some different ones for us to try."

"You should feel sorry for them, Hinagiku. Their patented host skills don't work on us. Now they're all flustered and they don't know what to do with themselves."

"True. I must say I'm glad we decided to perform here. It was fun to sneak a peek at the notorious Ouran host club."

"Actually my skills are for both men and woman you three just seem annoying," I tell them.

"And she's been corrupted by these men!" The Hinagiku one says pointing to me. I roll my eyes.

"Hey guys, are we really notorious?" Honey asks.

"Yeah," Mori says.

"And to think they're dragging these sweet young girls down with them," Benibara says, "The host club's president may be a pretty little halfer. But he shouldn't be using his looks to create a fictitious romance. Attempting to fool the heart of a pure young maiden is demeaning. Your so-called club activities are nothing more than debasing macho fantasies. I promise you. We will bring you guys down. The Ouran host club will be abolished."

"All hail Zuka club," They chant.

"Hikaru I want a nap," I whine. He lifts up his arms so I can lay on his lap. While I lay my legs on his twin. He places his arms back down on my chest and sighs.

"Damn," He groans.

"I see. I understand your concern. But do you think maybe we could finish this later?" Kyoya asks.

"Are you saying that you're not going to face us?" Benibara asks.

"Not at all. It's just that our president is still bed-ridden from the initial culture shock," Kyoya says.

"You see, Tama-chan is having his nappy time right now," Honey says.

"Tamaki Senpai can't handle the girl gay," I tell them.

"Wake him up!"

"You, girls have it all wrong! Don't you see there's nothing to be gained in a romantic relationship between two women? If that were the case, then why did God create Adam and Eve?" Tamaki yells his hand slipping in the coffee, "Hot, hot, hot, hot, hot..."

"You gotta be more careful, Senpai," Haruhi says.

"Hey Tamaki Senpai, you need to be more progressive my dude. Because we are seen as a super progressive anime so get your homophobic head out of your ass and not be against the lady gay. Okay?" He nods then looks to Haruhi.

"Thanks, Haruhi. Do you always carry bandages around with you?" Tamaki asks.

"Nah, the supermarket was giving them out with the purchase of instant coffee. You always get free stuff at the supermarket," Haruhi explains.

"Free stuff?"

"This little conversation doesn't seem to be going anywhere."

"Neither does this one," I groan.

"Now that we know what's going on, we can't allow this maiden to stay here. We'll prepare her paperwork and have her transfer to Lobelia at once and welcome her into the Zuka club," Benibara says as Hikaru, Kaoru and I stand up.

"Hey just wait a second, will you? There seems to have been some misunderstandings here. I mean, first of all, you called senpai a halfer," Haruhi starts.

"'Cause he is a halfer. He's half French and half Japanese," Honey says.

"Oh well. Uh anyway, I don't think it's fair for you to pick on the host club just because you don't think they have the same history as you do," Haruhi syas.

"We barely have any history. We were just founded two years ago," Hikaru says.

"Yeah, the boss created it whenever he started high school here," Kaoru says.

"And I'm the only woman they let join and unlike the others I had to prove I was good enough. While the others didn't have to do anything," I tell her.

"Be that as it may, saying their club activity is only held to satisfy their appetites is just wrong. I mean, it's not like the host club's charging their guests or anything," Haruhi says.

"Well, I wouldn't call it a charge. We do have a point system. We offer priority services based on the winning bids of auctions held on our website. Check this out, Haruhi. Your used mechanical pencil just sold with a winning bid of 30,000 yen. Good for you," Kyoya says.

"What! But I thought I'd lost that pencil. Why didn't you tell me about this before, Kyoya senpai? I had no idea you were collecting money," Haruhi yells.

"So, you thought we were all just working here as volunteers?" Kyoya asks, "While it's not much because of the expensive organizing events, we happen to make a small profit from the online auctions."

"You can't sell other people's thing without asking permission. That's stealing!" Haruhi yells.

"It wasn't stealing. You dropped that pencil on the floor," The twins say.

"Waah. I'm sorry, Haruhi. It's not like we were hiding it from you. Here, you can have mine. It's got a cute teddy bear on it," Tamaki whines.

"Senpai, I don't want your pencil," Haruhi says.

"Then to make it up to you, how about I do this? I'll tell you the secrets to my success in my fondest memories," Tamaki says.

"Not to be rude, senpai, but I'm not really interested in that information," Haruhi says.

"No one is Tamaki Senpai, and no one ever will be so stop offering it," I tell him.

"Not interested?" He whimpers.

"Oh, you poor dear. I can't believe they've been deceiving you."

"Hey, why don't you just dump these losers and come with us?"

"Hold on, Hinagiku. This young maiden's had quite a day. We'll give you some time to think about it. We'll come back for your answer tomorrow. Well then, adieu."

"I better be going," Haruhi says, "I've got some thinking to do."
