Chapter Forty Two - Bossanova Has A Crush

"M-my bad," Kasanoda says as we finally reach the room. I see the twins and Tamaki fuming with anger before me.

"Peeping tom!" They scream at him attacking him on-sight.

"You saw," Hikaru says.

"Didn't you bossanova," Kaoru says harshly.

"No! I didn't see!" He exclaims, "I mean I caught a glance but it was all so fast. It was just an accident I swear I'm not a pervert." Dropping all annoyances I keep my harsh glare focused on Kasanoda. He couldn't let Haruhi's secret out.

"Of course you would say that," Honey says harshly also maintaining a protective stance, "Sure sign of a guilty conscious." Kasanoda yells slightly in fear as we all look on harshly. Seconds away from the kill.

"So then Fujioka's a girl?" He asks.

"Red alert! He's on to Haruhi's secret," Hikaru says.

"That's not good," Kaoru says. I step forward.

"Especially for his gang if he decides to tell," I say crossing my arms, "The Rose Syndicate hasn't had any issues in a while. So let's not make this one."

"So let's hear it," Hikaru says, "How much her maidenly Terra incognita did you actually see?"

"Well She was changing, so I saw her underwear," Kasanoda says and the twins explode.

"You saw Haruhi's underwear!" They scream loudly.

"So what do we do?!" Hikaru screams.

"There is only one thing left to do," Kaoru says, "we have to induce amnesia. Hold him." Hikaru moves to grab the boy.

"That's enough you two," Kyoya says, "leave assault and battery to the professionals."

"What are you made of ice? How can you be so calm about this?" Kaoru asks.

"Look! The boss is so deep in shock he's regressing!" Hikaru says pointing to the shell shocked boss. His slight whimpers proving he's still alive.

"Kyoya and I have actual pawns to play in this move. So let us handle it," I say to the twins as Kyoya and I step forward.

"Well, now that it appears the proverbial cat is out of the bag. Let's talk," Kyoya says pushing up his glasses. Sending shivers down Kasanoda's spin. "Haruhi is compelled to hide the fact she is a girl due to certain migrating circumstances. While we can't physically force you to cooperate exactly there is something I would like for you to bear in mind coming from a sort of family you do, I'm certain you hear all sorts of juicy little rumours, enough to know what is true and what is not. Take the Otori family's private police force, the black onion squad. It is said that they can be mobilised against our enemies in the blink of an eye. You have heard of them right?"

"And Besides Rose Syndicate outnumbers yours 3:2 meaning that with the combined efforts would could ruin you over night," I say as he looks on fearfully.

"Come on guys stop scaring Kasanoda," Haruhi says as she leaves the changing room, "sorry about all this."

"Hey Fujioka," Kasanoda says.

"Look it's alright it doesn't really matter to me you can tell whoever you want to," Haruhi says.

"Well well Bossanova," Hikaru mocks.

"Since you know she's a girl are you in love?" Kaoru mocks along with his twin. Tamaki screams loudly.

"That's enough boys," I say to them, "we have class."

"Fine," Hikaru says turning back. I lace my fingers in with his and we leave the room. Why does he care so much?

******

As I sip the coffee with my clients talking about the classes and everything with Halloween. I see the heads of people around me snaps to an empty table. I look in the direction and see Kassanoda sitting at the table alone. He looks to Kyoya awkwardly.

"I'd like to request Fujioka," He mumbles. Loud joyful screams erupt from the room.

"What is this?"

"Is he for real?"

"The genuine article, at long last," Renge says as her rig raises. Her loud cackle fills the room beyond the screaming.

"Renge, is it true? is he really?"

"Could be really be of that kind of persuasion?" Another girl asks Renge. Kasanoda looks around awkwardly as the eyes of guys and girls alike stare at him in disbelief and hope.

"Forget entertaining," I say to Kyoya, "this is more interesting." He smirks slightly.

"All of the clients think so too," He says as Haruhi approaches the table with Kasanoda at it.

"Welcome Kasanoda! So you're our guest today huh?" Haruhi asks him as she sits down at the table with her tea set.

"Yeah I guess," Kasanoda says nervously. He's fidgeting slightly. He has a huge crush on her.

"Would you like to have some tea? How much sugar do you normally put in it?" Haruhi asks.

"Here, let me help," Kasanoda says reaching for the kettle but Haruhi pulls it away.

"Now now. You're our guest, it's okay," Haruhi says as she prepares his tea. "So tell me. Is this your first time in a place like this?" Kasanoda jumps slightly. "Ha ha, gotcha."

"You sure have this down, Huh?," Kasanoda says as he watches Haruhi carefully.

"This is so freaking cute," I say to my table, "but also a little sad. So if you'll excuse me." I get up and join the whispering twins as they watch.

"Well trust me, it didn't come naturally at all, at least not a first," She says, "but then I realised if I just say back and had fun with it everything sort of fell into place on its own."

"Hey, just don't stand there Kyoya Senpai! Get him out of here!" Kaoru exclaims.

"If he's getting along with his goons so well now, why does he need to be here in the first place?!" Hikaru asks angrily.

"You have a girlfriend why do you care so much?" I ask him. He drops his anger and looks at me.

"I might not like her like I like you but I still don't think he's right for her!" Hikaru says, "you get him out of here. Use the gang."

"No," I say simply.

"He has kept Haruhi's secret so far, and since he is after all a paying guest. I can see no reason to eject him," Kyoya says.

"There isn't one," I say to him, "you both need to chill out."

"But the other guests are afraid!" The twins exclaim.

"Yeah sure," I say sarcastically as I look to the girls watching Kasanoda and Haruhi's every mood.

"Oh I think not," Kyoya says, "observe." We look around at the girls watching them everyone on the eve of their seats.

"The look on his face is just priceless."

"I've never seen someone so in love before."

"Hello Sumire?" Renge says on the phone, "forget about your stupid violin lessons and hightail it to the host club! I'm telling you this is a one in a million chance to witness something truly amazing." The other girls also loudly gush.

"See, we're just fine. Thanks to him we might even set a new record," Kyoya says.

"You, money grubbing enabler!" The twins scream at him. I scoff.

"They're having fun," I say to them, "let them."

"Can I pour you another cup of tea?" Haruhi asks.

"Ah yes thank you," Kasanoda says.

"Oh no she's giving him that adorable smile," Hikaru says.

"The one which no man could resist!" Kaoru exclaims.

"Wow usually you guys wouldn't waste anytime interrupting the two of them," Honey says as he walks over seeming proud of the two boys.

"Yeah but our hand are tied," Hikaru says, "y/n clear wants us out of it and because of how we act in Karuizawa. Haruhi would never forgive us."

"How you acted in Karuizawa," Kaoru and I correct him both at the same time.

"Hey boss," Hikaru asks Tamaki who was laying against one of the support beams still completely shell shocked. "Are you done being shell shocked yet?"

"Yeah we could really use our king right now," Kaoru says. Out of frustration they pull him up and push him out to the center of the room. In the most forced robotic movements he makes his way over to the table.

"Tamak- Senpai?" Haruhi asks as he walks towards them. "Um, just what exactly are you doing?" As he goes to sit down between them Haruhi moves him over. "If you're going to sit down please sit over there. You can play with this if you need a distraction. It's a little freebie I got at the super market when I bought the instant coffee earlier." Tamaki takes it and fiddles with it. Breaking it apart fairly quickly.

"Look I solved it Haruhi," He says in the least charismatic, least princely, most robotic voice I've ever heard.

"His gonna die," I say softly, "he's embarrassing me and I'm all the way over here."

"Wow, that was fast," Haruhi says, "okay now try and see if you can put it back together."

"Ma," he says returning to his puzzle.

"That Moron," the twins groan as Hikaru pulls out his phone.

"Ma?" Tamaki asks.

"Earth to boss! Will you snap out of it already?!" Hikaru yells into the phone, "the longer you sit there like an idiot and playing robot, the worse the situation becomes for all of us."

"Counterpoint keeping doing the robot thing!" I say over Hikaru.

"Shush," Hikaru says covering my mouth with his hand.

"Ma." Tamaki repeats.

"Now listen to me carefully," Hikaru says as I try to pull his hand off my mouth. "You can't let this happen! If she and that two-bit thug hit it off, she's going to spend the rest of her life as a mob wife!"

"Ma!" Tamaki says finally understanding, "what no way?" He jumps up in anger. "Daddy won't stand for that."

"Please don't do this," Haruhi begs. My eyes go wide as Tamaki grabs Kasanoda's shirt fiercely. Hikaru lets me go.

"Bossanova! Just what do you think you're trying to do here?! You've established a bond with your henchmen didn't you? Why aren't you with them right now?!" Tamaki screams angrily.

"You tell him, sir!" Hikaru exclaims.

"Yeah!" Kaoru yells.

"What about kick the can? You remember that? You should be out there enjoying life to the fullest with your friends while you're still young enough to appreciate it, before it slips away right under your nose!" He screams, "why are you harassing my Haruhi?! As her father I forbid you to see her!"

"Wait what?" Kasanoda asks now confused, "you're telling me that you're Fujioka's dad? That's just not possible."

"Oh no," Hikaru says.

"Oh yes," I say on the verge of losing it.

"He's painted the boss into a corner," Kaoru says.

"Yes!" I say laughing now.

"Well we might not be related by blood," Tamaki says.

"Okay so what?" Kasanoda asks getting annoyed, "okay, so what, are you married to her mom then?"

"No, as a matter of fact, I've never met the woman," Tamaki says nervously. No one has ever confronted him about this.

"So I guess you really aren't her father are you?" Kassanoda asks. Tamaki collapses in dramatic fashion.

"Wah! Tama-chan I'll catch you!" Honey yells catching the bigger blond.

"He's right you know, strictly speaking, I'm not Haruhi's real father," Tamaki says sounding defeated. I take a deep breath and attempt to feel sorry for him. But nothing helps.

"Uh, strictly speaking or other wise," The twins say. The man for whatever reason passes out. In this moment deciding leaving him passed out in Honey's arms was too embarrassing. Honey places him on the ground and I grab him by the legs and drag him where the other hosts were gathered.

After about 5 minutes finally he wakes back up.

"Hey look! He's waking up!" Kaoru announces.

"Good," I huff, "now I can tell him how much of a drama king he is."

"I need to sort this out," He says as his purple eyes flutter.

"Sort What out exactly?" Kaoru asks.

"If, supposing I'm not Haruhi's dad after all..."

"We don't have to suppose it, boss," Hikaru says.

"And the more you say it the weirder it gets," I say to him.

"Then how can it be that I find her so utterly adorable?" Tamaki asks.

"Ah What are you talking about?" Kaoru asks as all of Our eyes go wide. Was he finally realising this?

"When she's with another man, why is it that I become so insanely jealous?" Tamaki asks, "I'm not her father, I have no right to be so protective, no right whatsoever."

"So then uh, tell me what exactly is with the whole making Haruhi your wife some day thing?" Kaoru asks pushing Tamaki to get to the right conclusion.

"I know!" Tamaki says, "daddies don't typically want to marry their little girls when their all grown up, do they?"

"No not at all," I say to Tamaki, "that's fucking creepy."

"What about keeping her from kissing anyone?"

"Kaoru," I say cautiously.

"I only wanted to preserve those precious lips," Tamaki says.

"Preserve really?" Kaoru asks, "that's a very interesting choice of words, sir. You think everything is absolutely perfect just the way it is now and having this family setting will keep it all from changing, right?"

"Hey Kaoru?" Hikaru says softly.

"I don't understand," Tamaki says softly. Still laying on the floor.

"Actually he's got a point," Kyoya says, "I mean you're delusional yes. Any half wit could see that, but who knew you were so...?"

"Out of touch with reality? Fucking stupid?" I say, "the list could go on."

"Tama-chan is completely blind when it comes to himself!" Honey cheers.

"Kaoru, just want did you mean by things changing?" Hikaru asks, "that's not about us because of Y/n and I-"

"It's not, it's nothing okay?" He says, "just a little theory I'm probably completely wrong about."

"You sure?" I ask him, "we can talk about it."

"No no it's fine."

"Did you hear that lady and gentlemen?" Tamaki says getting right up from the ground. Instantly 100x more princely. "Apparently in some ways, I'm like Haruhi's father."

"Well-"

"Are you really gonna try Kyoya Senpai?" I ask him.

"I think I have to," He says then looks to Tamaki, "to be more precise, I think what she's saying is that you and her father do share some personality traits, in actuality-"

"I've got it! I've got it now," Tamaki says whimpering happily, "I'm like a father to her!"

"And we've lost him once again," Kyoya says.

"Fujioka, do you think that we can maybe do this more often?" Kasanoda asks, "because I was just thinking since you entertain girls all day long, it might kind of give you a break from all that. You know if I came around. I mean if, if you want that is..."

"Absolutely!" Haruhi says happily, "that way you and I can get more acquainted."

"Here it comes!" Renge squeals with the other girls. Tamaki freezes in fear as Kasanoda starts shaking.

"Fujioka I..." Kasanoda starts.

"Oh no," I say grabbing Hikaru's hand.

"I, uh, have something to say," Kassanoda says nervously, "I just wanted to tell you... I just wanted to tell you...that I'm..."

"That you're excited to have someone you can relate to, aren't you" she says you could tell the whole room freezes waiting for her next words, "I know I sure am. A conversation like this is a rare thing for me. We're going to be great friends." You could see it from a mile away. His heart shattered. The room fills with pity for him.

"Uh Oh hung out to dry," Renge says.

"Yikes," I say softly.

"He totally just got shot down."

"He didn't even get a chance to profess his love."

"Oh, the friends thing that really stings."

"I bet that rejection haunts him for the rest of his life."

"Aw the poor guy."

"It's so tragic."

"Of course the two of us are gonna be friends. Best of Friends. Forever!" Kassanoda says pained.

"Bossanova!" Honey and the twins yell.

"Kassanoda!" The girls yell.

"Casanova!" Renge yells. The people surround him to make him feel better.

"We broke a record yet?" I ask Kyoya who smirks.

"Of course," He says. We look to see Tamaki on the floor.

"What's the matter Tamaki?" Kyoya asks. I sit down beside the blond and place my hand on his back.

"When I think about how Bossanova must have been feeling, my heart goes out to him a little," Tamaki says.

"It's only natural," I say catching myself before saying anything else.

"That's strange isn't it?" Kyoya asks, "I mean as Haruhi's father you shouldn't feel sympathy for the man who was trying to take your precious little girl away now, should you?" His face unreadable to many others. But us host could tell deep down he knew how he feels about Haruhi. Even if he won't admit it.

******

"Hyper Starlight Kick!" Tamaki yells kicking the can as the girls and guys alike play along. The next game is hide and seek and like always I stick to Hikaru's side. We all make it to the rose covered gazebo with Kyoya.

"Hey what are you doing?" Tamaki asks as he sees us, "this hiding spot is only for Haruhi and Me!"

"What kind of rule is that?" Kaoru asks.

"A lame rule I'm breaking," I say to them.

"And for that matter why do you and Haruhi have to hide together in the first place?" Hikaru asks.

"It's perfectly natural for a father to hide with his daughter!" Tamaki defends himself.

"Some might disagree," Kyoya says.

"Would all of you just be quiet?" Haruhi says shushing us. We all climb into the gazebo under the table. As we all talk are argue slightly I smile at my friends around me. I wouldn't have it any other way.
