Chapter 9
A/N: Okay. So before we get into anything, or you guys comment anything, let me explain. I love music. I am an absolute music geek. SO... You will often see songs in my stories. I used to be reckless and added them all the time, now I'm more controlled. You will only see songs if they contribute to the story, or if I needed a filler chapter and I was bored. Most of the time, it'll contribute to the story. And as for Mark and Jack, Mark sings all the time and he has a beautiful voice. Jack rarely sings, but if you really listen, he has a pretty damn good voice too. Anyways, I just wanted to explain myself. Enjoy the chapter.
(Jack's P.O.V.)
I've been up in my room for a while. Anti tried to escape again so for the past two, three hours I've just been on my laptop. Now that I'm absolutely, positively sure that he's back in check I'm going back downstairs. Yay! I sigh, walking down the stairs slowly. I walk into the living room, silent. I smile. There, Mark sits on the floor, an acoustic guitar in his hands. He's playing, and from what I can tell it's a song I know, and it's almost over. I just stand there, listening. He plays beautifully, perfectly, wonderfully. It's relaxing, pleasant and just over all perfect. He is just overall perfect. And I know he can sing too. God, more reasons for me to love him. He finishes the song, going to fix up the tuning a bit. I walk into the room more.
"I didn't know you could play." I say. He looks up, smiling.
"Yeah. I've known how to play for a while." He says, and I sit on the floor next to him. "You okay?" He asks. I nod.
"Yeah, fine. I was just doing some stuff on my laptop, then I ended up falling asleep." I say, which isn't a complete lie. Mark nods, looking back at his guitar. "Play something else." I say, begging slightly. He sighs, shaking his head.
"I don't know..." He says. I sigh.
"Please? For me?" I beg, staring with wide eyes. He looks at me and laughs, making me smile.
"Sure." He says and my smile grows. He starts playing softly, and I recognize the tune. I know this song. I start singing, Mark joining in an instant.
Both:
Du du du du
Du du du du
(Mark: du du du du)
Jack:
Du du du du
(Mark: du du du du)
Du du du du
Jack:
Feeling my way through the darkness
Guided by a beating heart
I can't tell where the journey will end
But I know where it starts
They tell me I'm too young to understand
Both:
They say I'm caught up in a dream
That life will pass me by if I don't open up my eyes
Well, that's fine by me
Both:
So wake me up when it's all over
(Mark: Get along with the voices)
Jack:
When I'm wiser and I'm older
(Mark: You're trying to save me)
All this time I was finding myself and I
Didn't know I was lost
Both:
No, I ain't much of a poet but I know somebody once told me
To seize the moment and don't squander it
Mark:
She never know when it all could be over tomorrow
So I keep conjuring, sometimes I wonder where these thoughts spawn from
Both:
My ocd is conking me in the head
Mark:
Keep knocking, nobody's home, I'm sleepwalking
Both:
I'm just relaying what the voice in my head's saying
Mark:
Don't shoot the messenger, I'm just friends with the
Jack:
(Mark: Monster that's under my bed)
So wake me up when it's all over
(Mark: Get along with the voices inside of my head)
When I'm wiser and I'm older
(Mark: You're trying to save me, stop holding your breath)
All this time I was finding myself and I
(Mark: And you think I'm crazy, yeah, you think I'm crazy)
Didn't know I was lost
Mark:
Well, that's nothing
Jack:
(Mark: du du du du)
Du du du du
(Mark: du du du du)
Du du du du
(Mark: du du du du)
Du du du du
(Mark: du du du du)
Du du du du
Jack:
I didn't know I was lost, I didn't know I was lost
(Mark: I'm friends with the monster)
Didn't know I was lost
(Mark: I'm friends with the monster)
I didn't know I was lost, I didn't know I was lost
Both:
I'm friends with the monster that's under my bed
Get along with the voices inside of my head
You're trying to save me, stop holding your breath
And you think I'm crazy, yeah, you think I'm crazy
Well, that's nothing
Jack:
Didn't know I was lost
Mark:
Well, that's nothing
Jack:
I didn't know I was lost
Mark:
Well, that's nothing
Jack:
I didn't know I was lost
Both:
I didn't know I was lost
Mark claps, and I soon join in.
"Mark you're a really good singer and guitarist." I say, smiling. Mark nods, smiling as well.
"Thank you. You're a really good singer too." He says. My smile grows.
"Thank you." I say. He nods as a you're welcome, standing up with his guitar. I stay seated on the floor and we just stay there staring at each other for a minute. Then Mark turns and starts to walk away. My smile falls. "Mark..." I say and he turns, tilting his head to the side. I smile again. God he's so cute. "Really... Thank you." I say. He smiles.
