Chapter 28

(Mark's P.O.V.)

Today is the day Jack is flying back to Ireland. Alone. And it's sad, cause I don't want him to go. I don't want to go back to just texting and Skype calling. I want to be able to hold him, and kiss him, and talk to him in person. But he isn't ready to leave Ireland yet, and I don't want to leave LA. So, we'll make it work. We always do.

He's already packed, in fact we're heading towards the airport now. We got an Uber so I don't have to drive. We're both sitting in the back seat, with his head on my shoulder, my head on top of his head, and our hands clasped together, fingers intertwined. We're silent, just enjoying the others company. It's nice, but also sad knowing this will be the last time I'll be able to hold him for a while.

The drive is short and sweet, but though it's nice being together in silence, I can't help but wish that the airport is farther away. I hate long drives, but driving like this... I could do it all day. Sadly, Jack's plane takes off in about an hour and he needs to be there. It doesn't help that I'm tired as all hell either, since it's about six in the morning. But again, if it means I'll be with Jack then I'll put myself aside. I'll always put myself aside for Jack.

The drive doesn't last nearly as long as I wished it would, and before I know it we're walking into the large airport. It isn't to busy, since it's a weekday and early. We're still silent as we walk, neither of us talking. We just walk, hand in hand. Jack goes up and gets his boarding pass, checking his bag before coming back to me and taking my hand again.

We walk slowly towards security, where we'll have to say goodbye. We don't get far when I hear Jack mumble something. I stop moving, looking over at him.

"What was that?" I ask. He looks up at me quizzically before shaking his head and looking to the ground.

"Nothin'." He responds. I just shrug and we keep walking. Then he mumbles again, followed by a quiet giggle. One that I recognize... I stop walking again, looking over at Jack and when he looks up at me my eyes widen. His one eye is fine, but the other is Anti's black and green eye. Jack's head twitches a bit and he smiles, giggling again, before his expression returns to panicked and confused.

"Mark what the hell is going on?" He whispers. I shake my head, holding his hand tighter.

"I don't know." I say, but I do know that we can't stay here. Not in front of people. I put Jack's hood up, and he looks to the ground, understanding a bit, and I start walking quickly. I look around, hoping to find somewhere we can hide. I hear giggling again and then Anti's voice, just soft talking, something that sounded like "one, two, Anti's coming for you".

Then it goes back to Jack, who whimpers quietly. I squeeze his hand, whispering soft, reassuring words. And finally I spot it. A janitors closet. Let's just hope it's unlocked. I rush him over, looking around before turning the handle. The door opens, thank god, and I push him inside, me following.

I close the door behind us, finding the keys and locking it. I look over at Jack, who is now sitting in the corner of the closet, whimpering, with his knees up to his chest and his hands over his ears. He giggles again, and then cries quietly. I walk over, sitting next to him and putting a hand on his shoulder.

"Jack, you can block him out. Come on." I say and he shakes his head wildly, but he doesn't say anything. Well, he doesn't. Anti does.

"I'm always here!" He says, giggling, before Jack comes back and yells back "Get out of my head!" It hurts to see him like this. It hurts so much. But I don't know if I can help...

"Seán, look at me." I say, strict but quiet and calm. He just whimpers and curls up more. I put my hands on his shoulders. "Look at me. Please." I beg. He does, looking up slightly. His eyes are glossed over with tears, his one eye still green and blue. I nod. "Good. Now just listen to my voice and block him out." I say, and he nods, taking his hands off his head and closing his eyes. "Block him out." I say again, and he sits still and silent.

But then his eyes snap open and he laughs. No, not him, Anti. He doesn't giggle but laugh. And he laughs loud. It scares me so much I fall into a shelf behind me. But then it goes back to Jack, who once again puts his hands to his head.

"I can't! I can't do it! He's to loud!" He's crying at this point, and I know I have to find some other way to help. I sigh. I really don't want to do this, but I don't have much choice.

"Seán, look at me. Look at me, please." I say, calmly. He shakes his head, crying into his knees. I bite my lip. "I swear to god if you try anything." I say, closing my eyes.

"Wait, what?" Dark asks, confused. But soon he understands as I let a few of the walls down, letting him have some control. Just enough to make my one eye turn red and black. I open my eyes again, putting my hands on Jack's shoulders.

"Look at me." I say softly. And he does, looking up at me with his one blue eye and his other black and green eye. Tears fall down his cheeks, and I wipe them away. "If I can control him, you can too." I whisper.

"Or you could help Anti out and we can have some fun." Dark tries to persuade me, but I ignore him. Well, I ignore him as much as I can. Jack shivers, staring at my eyes. I stare back, smiling softly. "You can do it. You are stronger than him." I say, and he nods.

"I'm stronger." He whispers. I nod slowly, my smile widening.

"Yes. Yes you are, and you always will be." I say and he nods more, smiling a bit as Anti's eye disappears and Jack's wonderful blue eye comes back. I sigh, putting all the walls back up, despite Darks protests. I put my hand on his cheek. "See? I knew you could do it." He chuckles and nods, putting his hand over mine.

"Yeah..."
