The Dark Side of Malfoy- Chapter 3

The Dark Side of Malfoy

Chapter 3

Year 5 at Hogwarts rolled along and it was getting close to Christmas break and Jilli’s date with Harry at Hogsmeade. For the past few weeks leading up to now, Jillianne had been with Harry only a couple of times.

Once they had accidentally ran into each other down by the black lake, both of them had been seeking peace and quiet after a tough day of tests.

Harry had been sitting against a tree when Jilli came over and asked how he was, and he asked her to sit by him and gently grabbed her arm and pulled her down in his lap, Jilli sitting between his legs. Harry was content just to wrap his arms around her and hold her, his face resting by her hair and ear as she leaned back against him. He could smell the sweet smell of her shampoo, a mixture of lavender and vanilla. It helped Harry to relax.

Harry moved her hair back from her neck and began giving her soft kisses along the length of it up to her ear. Jilli could feel herself melting. She turned slightly in Harry’s arms, her lips catching his and started kissing him deeply. They kissed for a while, and then they both broke apart breathing heavy, Harry hugging her tightly.

They talked for a little while and Harry told her about a group he and others were thinking about starting up to learn real defense against the dark arts that Umbridge wasn’t teaching. Jilli thought it was a great idea. She told him about the threats Draco had made. Harry made her promise to tell him if Draco caused her any trouble. They both headed back up to Hogwarts for dinner.

Harry and Jilli headed back in from the black lake, it was getting dark and almost time for dinner. As they walked Harry took her hand, holding it. He asked her if she would like to join the DA. She said she might, but with her being a Slytherin it might not be a good idea because she didn’t want to endanger group. She knew Malfoy and a lot of the other Slytherins had joined Umbridge’s Inquisitorial Squad, to rat people out.

When they got to the doors Harry gave her a quick kiss and they parted, going in quickly to their own dining tables.

Malfoy was eyeballing her. Looking angry, because he hadn’t missed seeing her and Harry enter at the same time.

She avoided Draco. But one evening she wasn’t so lucky. That was the evening Jilli got to experience the dark side to Draco Malfoy. Jilli was leaving the potions classroom where she had met with Prof. Snape to go over some potions homework she hadn’t been sure about. She was heading down a corridor when her arm was grabbed roughly. She was pressed against the wall with two hands on either shoulder, it was Malfoy.

“I told you to stay away from Potter, you Slytherin slut!” he shouted in her face, and Jilli nearly fell over from the reek of fire whiskey coming off his breath.

Jillianne was so shocked that at first she couldn’t react, and then she got angry. She brought her hand up, knocking one of his arms off her and slapped him hard.

“How dare you strike me,” he sneered, one side of his face red. He brought his own hand up and slapped her back, so hard that she fell to the floor. Draco grabbed her up, pressing her back into the wall, his body pressed against hers. Jilli was still in a daze from the blow he’d given her.

“Jillianne, you shouldn’t have done that. I don’t want to hurt you, but you make me so angry,” he slurred in a quiet voice, no longer sneering.

He started to kiss her, but Jilli fought him. Her lips staying shut as he ground his mouth into hers. She tried to push him off, but he kept his body pressed to hers.

“You’re going to put out for Potter, but not for me,” he sneered angrily.

Jilli started fighting him this time, her fists hitting him and she started kicking. She must have got in a lucky kick because Draco doubled over moaning in pain. Jillianne quickly pushed herself out of his grasp and took off running as fast as she could, not knowing where she was going, just trying to get away. Tears were flowing down her face and her vision was blurred.

Jilli ran for a while until she was panting for breath and having trouble catching it. She sank down on a stairway, her head in her hands and started sobbing. Who knew what Draco would have done if she had not gotten away from him. It had been obvious he was drunk.

While she sat there sobbing a hand touched her head and she jumped terrified. “Jillianne, are you alright,” it was Harry looking at her with deep concern. Jilli jumped into Harry’s arms, her crying getting worse.

“Come on,” Harry said picking her up in his arms and he started walking with her, Jilli’s arms wrapped around his neck, crying in his shoulder.

She didn’t know where Harry was taking her, but then she felt the cold night air and knew she was outside. They walked for a bit and then Jilli felt Harry open a door. They were at Hagrid’s.

Once inside Harry used his wand to light a candle and the fireplace and he set Jilli down in a chair. He took out another hanky and started gently wiping the tears from her face, when he touched the left side of her face she winced in pain. Harry moved the candle closer to look at her. The left side of her face was red as fire and already turning a blackish purple around the whole area. It looked as if she had hit something hard or something or someone had hit her.

“What in the world,” Harry murmured, taking her chin gently and looking closer. He could barely make out a hand print. Anger washed over him and he stood up, grabbing his wand and headed for the door, “Malfoy. I’ll kill him!”

Jilli jumped up quickly, grabbing Harry’s arm as he went, “Please Harry, no,” she pleaded, wrapping her arms around him and starting to cry, “He’s not worth it.”

Harry hugged her tightly to him, “I care a lot about you Jilli, I can’t let this go.”

“Harry, I don’t want you hurt or in trouble because of me.” Jilli went on her toes, grabbing his face in her hands and kissed his lips. Malfoy was temporarily forgotten as their kiss intensified.

They both got so caught up in the kiss that the next thing they knew they were lying across Hagrid’s bed. Things got pretty heated as Harry undid her shirt while they kissed and began running his hands along her body. Jilli did the same with Harry and began kissing his neck, sucking on it gently, leaving a mark like the one he’d given her days before.

They both slowed down a bit, afraid of carrying things too far. They just lay there holding each other, Harry running his hands through her silky blond hair.

“I could stay like this forever,” Jillianne whispered against Harry’s chest, starting to get sleepy.

Harry leaned down and kissed her forehead, whispering back, “Me too.”

That was the last Jilli remembered, she fell asleep against Harry’s warm body.

When she woke it was to Harry thrashing about, moaning. She grabbed him, whispering desperately, “Harry, please wake up,” she finally got through to him, because his eyes were suddenly open, he was covered in sweat and panting.

            “Are you okay?”

Harry didn’t know if he was. The dreams which were more like visions were getting worse. He was afraid, scared he was going mad or worse, becoming like the dark lord. Tears sprang to his eyes.

“Harry, please tell me what’s going on,” Jilli said wiping his tears with her hand.

He grabbed Jilli tightly; glad she was there with him when it had happened so he didn’t have to be alone. He told her some of what was going on with him, the visions, the visions of Cedrics death, and things to do with the people he loved. Harry told her how he was afraid Voldemort had some kind of control over him and he was becoming like him.

“Harry, you are nothing like you-know-who,” Jilli hugged him close.

“But I feel so angry all the time. My temper is always on edge, and I’ve had terrible thoughts on my mind lately about the people I care about.”

“That’s normal behavior. Everyone goes through it at some point, with you it was only a matter of time when you would feel the anger, look at all you’ve gone through in life,” she said, smoothing his unruly dark hair.

“I thought that at first, but these visions have me scared.”

“Maybe you need to see Dumbledore.”

“I can’t, he’s avoiding me,” Harry said frustrated.

“I’m sorry, but if you ever need to talk I’m here, okay?”

It was getting close to morning so they headed back up to the school, before they separated Harry kissed her lovingly, looking at Jilli’s face, “I’m not going to forget about what Malfoy did to you, Jilli.”

Jilli sighed, “Just please don’t retaliate Harry. Please?” she begged him.

Harry just kissed her lips, leaving her near the Slytherin Common room. She quickly went in with no one around, made it to the dorm and quietly lay down to get a couple hours more sleep.

            …………

Jilli woke , showered, got dressed and headed down the stairs, as she entered the common room one of her fellow Slytherins, Agatha Stevenson, gasped, “Good Merlin, Jillianne, what happened to your face.”

Jilli walked over to a mirror to take a look, she could feel others eyes on her. She didn’t want her humiliating run-in with Malfoy made public, “A flying accident,” was all she said. One half of her face was a huge dark purple bruise.

Draco was coming down the stairs as she turned from the mirror and when he saw her face he actually blanched and got paler than usual, a sick look coming to his face. It was more than Jilli could take; she angrily headed off to Madam Pomfrey at the hospital wing.

She told Madam Pomfrey the same story about a flying accident, but she looked at Jilli with skepticism, but didn’t say anything, just gave her a potion and within 10 minutes the bruise was almost non-existent. Jilli headed down to breakfast.
