Hayley flew up, having to almost catch Tom as he broke down, she got him over to sit on a chair, trying to calm him but to no extent.
She didn't know what to say, it was the most heartbreaking thing she had ever seen and right then she cursed Sarah to hell, how could she do this to him ?
It was almost 10 minutes before he had regained enough control of himself, that he was able to speak. "Fuck, Hayley what am I to do ?"
She couldn't answer that, she didn't know. "I am so sorry Tom, all odds were against you, you must have driven like hell to get here in that time".
"Let's just say that it is a miracle that I am not locked up in a cell somewhere between here and London for speeding and reckless driving". He got up and started pacing the room.
"I know you just wanted to get here, but for Gods sake it was stupid and dangerous driving like that, especially in you state of mind". She kind of regretted telling him, he could easily have killed himself or others on the way.
Suddenly he slammed his fist into the wall, leaving a dent. "Fuck, oh shit and then for nothing at all".
A security guard came running, but luckily Hayley got him to understand and back down with an apologetic glance and a wave off, she didn't dare think how Tom would have reacted to being told of by an angry guard right then.
"Tom, you have to make a decision right now before Sarah comes out, where you are standing after this". Hayley put a hand on his shoulder.
He sat down on a chair. "I just don't get it, why didn't she come to me ? We could have talked about this, we could have worked it out".
"She didn't know when she arrived and I don't think she could get herself to tell you over the phone, she thought you had so much pressure on you already". Hayley sighed.
Then she went on. "She was completely convinced that you didn't want children provisionally, after what you said to me and you said something similar to a friend".
He hid his face in his hands. "There is a big difference between planning it and when it just happens, and no I wouldn't have made plans to have a child right now but for Gods sake, that doesn't mean that I wouldn't be ecstatic".
Hayley put a hand on his shoulder. "But done is done Tom, I know she did wrong, very wrong, but it can't be changed, and she needs support not condemnation, if you can't do that, you better leave, for the sake of the both of you".
"It is my fault too, if I hadn't said those things, it would have never happened, and I love her, I am here for her no matter what". He breathed in deeply, steadying himself.
At that moment he door opened and Sarah walked out, she was confused and tired and first she thought she was hallucinating, there were no way he could be there. "Tom ?"
He turned his head and saw her and it only took him a second to get to her, pulling her into his arms. "Don't be angry with Hayley for telling me, promise ?"
"Oh okay, but when ? How did you get here ?" She was looking at him like she wasn't really sure that he was actually there.
Hayley cleared her throat. "He called me around midnight last night in panic, he thought you had left him, so I couldn't lie, he has driven all night to get here".
"Tom for Gods sake, you could have gotten hurt". Sarah slapped his shoulder, she was quite aware that he shouldn't be able to make it there in that amount of time.
He just shrugged. "I know, but I had to .." He had been about to say stop you, but stopped himself. "Had to be here for you, how are you baby ?"
"I so sorry Tom, I know you are not ready to have kids right now, but I couldn't, I just couldn't go through with it". She looked down at her feet.
Toms eyes went so wide she seriously feared they would pop out of his head. "Do you mean ? Are you saying that you are still pregnant ?"
"It is okay if you don't want to do this, you wont have to pay or anything, and nobody needs to know". She was rambling, and she couldn't get herself to look at him.
"Sarah ? Baby, I couldn't be more happy right now, why the hell do you think I drowe here like a mad man ? I came in hope of stopping you, you silly little fool". His voice were breaking with emotions.
She looked at him utterly confused. "Are you happy ? You want to keep the baby ? But I thought".
"Sarah all I was saying was that it was to early to plan having children, it doesn't mean that a child wont be welcome, I love you and I couldn't imagine anything more wonderful than having a family with you". He pulled her into him.
Sarah started crying from relief, relief that she hadn't gone through with the abortion, just because she had thought, that was what he wanted and relief that he was actually happy about the baby.
"I am so sorry Tom, I panicked, I should have talked to you, trusted you". She looked up at him, her eyes telling him how heartbroken she was about it, he just brushed the hair from her face and kissed her ever so softly.
"Maybe we could go home now, cause honestly I could kind of use a nap, it has been a very long night". He yawned loudly.
"That sounds like a great idea". Sarah said smiling, maybe everything would be okay after all.
