Chapter 93
A/n: alrighty, here we go,
TW: really mean kid, like, seriously, this kid is a douche bag, bullying, panic attacks, making fun of abuse.
The door opened, and Lucia's mom, Maya, greeted them.
"Why hello there dears! Oh my goodness is that my grand child? Oh you are so precious!" She smiled.
Virgil's cheeks turned red and he wished he was at an age where it was socially acceptable to hide behind his mom.
"Yeah, he's a real darling isn't he? Oh! I have a great idea, how about you go and meet all of the other kids?"
Virgil felt really awkward. These were his mom's siblings. He was their nephew. They weren't even cousins to him, just aunts and uncles.
He looked around the living room shyly as he saw everyone, aside from Amelia and Julia, who were out.
He looked around and saw Cecelia and Olivia doing a tik tok. So he had a four year old aunt and a twelve year old aunt. Nice.
Kids. He could do kids. Kids were funny and nice most of the time. There was a tiny baby on the floor, laying on his back. 'This must be Isaiah' He thought.
Then he saw Jerry, the two year old.
He smiled. That was everyone, he supposed. They were all kids. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad.
But then, he heard a toilet flush, and someone washing their hands.
He looked to the door as the person exited the bathroom.
Victoria.
She was sixteen.
All of a sudden, Virgil felt scared. Kids his age, girls especially, are jerks.
No—Virgil had just turned seventeen. He wasn't scared of a Junior.
"Uh, hey" she said awkwardly, "I'm Victoria."
"I'm Virgil" he said in an equally awkward tone.
"Cool" Victoria muttered, going to sit on the couch.
After a few minutes of staring at Virgil, she became amused. He was so tense. Looking around as if he was worried, shaking just a little bit, and standing in one place, staring at the floor.
"You know, you can sit down you know?" She laughed.
"Hm? Oh right!" He jumped, "sorry" he mumbled, sitting down on the floor.
She chuckled, "no you doofus, I meant on the couch" she smiled, patting the seat next to her.
"Oh, yeah, right right right, sorry..." he whispered, going over to her and sitting next to her.
He began to become very interested in his hands as he intertwined them together, wringing them, and peeling the skin around them off.
He was pulled out of his mind when he felt a tugging on his leg. He looked down to find the absolute cutest baby he had ever seen in his entire life.
The baby made grabby hands and Virgil slowly picked him up, bouncing him on his lap.
Virgil smiled.

"Linda" Remy smirked, "what are you doing?"
Linda jumped and said, "I-i'm sorry..."
"No, hon, it's alright but you know you could've asked, right?"
"Yeah, but, my mommy doesn't let me color..she says it's too childish..."
"Well, you're mom's a needy bit-" he stopped himself, "coin. Bitcoin. Yep."
He grabbed the crayons and the coloring book from the top shelf and handed them to her.
She thanked him and ran off with a smile.

Wednesday was a day spent fully getting to know everyone. Amelia and Julia came over and told countless childhood stories of them and Lucia being troublemakers.
"Oh you should've seen Julia the day she turned twenty one! She hit up all of the bars in town!" Lucia exclaimed, chuckling.
"What happened the day you turned twenty one, Lucia?"
Amelia asked with a smile.
Lucia smiled back. "The day I turned twenty one, I was at home with my lovely three year old son who made me a birthday cake with the help of my friend, Katlin"
"Awe that's so sweet" Victoria smirked at Virgil.
Virgil pouted.
"I decided I wouldn't drink. Andrew drank all the time and I feared that If I did too, I would become horrible and mean, just like him. I didn't want to hurt Virgil."
"Awe, overprotective mom" Maya smiled.
"Hey! Wasn't Katlin the one who shaved off Rose's eyebrows on April fool's day?"
"Yeah, Rose was surprisingly cool about that"
They began to play card games while they talked, and had a grand time until Amelia and Julia had to go home to their own kids. "We'll be back tomorrow with them for thanksgiving. I hope Virgil will have fun with his cousins!"

The next day, Virgil's cousins came over at the literal ass crack of dawn. They brought all sorts of food, and Amelia and Julia's husbands side of the family.
Virgil was filming it for Remus and Janus. They wanted proof that he was being social and not standing in a corner having a panic attack.
There were a lot of kids, a lot of teenagers, and a lot of adults.
Everyone was told stories of what happened to Virgil and Lucia based upon their ages. Younger kids got a sugar coated story, and were told to choose their words carefully around them.
Older ones were told the full story.
Everyone piled into the house, and things were going well until Julia came inside of the house and this one punk kid entered the room. He seemed to be Ninereen. He was Julia's kid. He looked around for a little bit, and was severely bored. He needed to pick on someone.
His eyes fell on Virgil.
"Hey isn't that kid mental?" He asked loudly with a smirk, "gross don't let him near me I might catch his disease!"
"Brady!" Julia yelled, smacking hum over the head, "shut up!"
Virgil's eyes began to water as soon as he was put on the spot. He didn't like attention. All eyes were on him.
"It's true! The freak has an eating disorder, anxiety, and-"
"Brady, that is enough!" Julia screamed in anger, putting the food down and stalking over to him.
He smirked at Virgil, watching as he cried, "No, maybe this wouldn't be happening if he had a dad who actually loved him! Freak was so weird his dad had to beat it out of him!"
Virgil froze in shock, almost dropping his camera. Everyone else in the room did the same. They stared at him, waiting for a response. The tears in his eyes spilled over, and he began to breathe heavily. All of the adults were yelling at Brady, Brady was continuing to insulting him, too much hate, too much noise.
In for four, hold for eight, out for seven-
Or was it the other way around?
Virgil couldn't remember.
"What?! It's not my fault his dad never loved him!"
Julia's husband, James smacked Brady across the face. "THAT'S ENOUGH!" He yelled.
Virgil jumped as he watched Brady get hit. Hit. It was too much. He ran upstairs as a sob escaped his throat. Everyone looked over as soon as Virgil began to cry.
"Virgil!" Victoria yelled, kicking Brady in the dick as she ran passed him, and after Virgil.
Virgil ran to the room he shared with Isaiah and Jeremiah, and threw his camera to the side, it was filming the whole time.
Victoria entered the room. She didn't say anything. She just tried to comfort him through his panic attack. She began to do a different exercise to ground Virgil that didn't involve focusing on breathing.
"I want you to name an animal after me that begins with the next letter of the alphabet, okay? Okay. A is for Alligator"
"B i-i-is fo-or blue foot-foot-ed boobie" he said shakily.
"C is for cat" she said softly.
"D-D-D is for Dolphin" he whispered, the game taking his mind off of what had happened.
He began to breathe more clearly.
"E is for elephant"
"F is for -for Flamingo" he said, wiping his tears away.
They kept going until they got to the end. "Good" Victoria smiled. Now breathe, in for three, hold for three, out for three..here, do it with me."
After he calmed down he felt exhausted. He leaned into Victoria and fell asleep. Victoria held him for comfort, and played with his hair. Like a good aunt would.
Downstairs, things were going horribly, and they could hear it.
But Victoria ignored it, and continued to play with Virgil's hair.
And that's how they spent their whole thanksgiving, Victoria, who wasn't very social herself, was glad to have gotten out of speaking and socializing with her relatives.
