Lucia was soon brought to a recovery room, one that she shared with a 'roommate' of sorts. They had a curtain separating them. They could open it if they wanted to socialize and close it if they needed privacy for a little bit. She liked the idea of it, as she wouldn't really be staying long.
Her roommate had the bed closest to the window, Lucia closest to the door.
Her little roommate was a kind looking woman. Dark, curly black hair with a soft round face and dark brown eyes. She greeted Lucia warmly from where she laid, her child on her stomach, "I'm Caroline."
"Hello there" Lucia replicated her welcoming smile, and looked at the woman's child "my name's Lucia."
"Awe, they're so cute..boy or girl?" Lucia asked.
"It's a boy!" She said in excitement, "oh, I have a five year old at home..he wants a baby brother so badly! He said he's going to teach him how to catch a ball..still has a while to go though" she chuckled.
"That's lovely..so, just the two kids?" Lucia asked.
"Oh, no I have another boy, he's turning three in a few months..and when I tell you he wants a sister, he wants a sister" she laughed, "and i've miscarried twice before this little stinker. Though I consider them just as much as my children as I do my other's."
"Oh..i'm so sorry" Lucia began, giving her a soft, empathetic smile,"you're not alone, I've miscarried a couple of times both naturally and because of some trauma to the stomach. I have the same viewpoints."
"Oh...do you have any other children?" She asked, looking saddened. Miscarriages really did suck. She felt her pain.
"Oh, yes! My son, Virgil, he's seventeen-woah, this is a huge age difference now that I think about it!" She chuckled.
"Oh, what made you wanna do that? Felt spontaneous one day?" Caroline asked.
"Oh..my ex husband raped me, but i'm glad for the opportunity to have a second chance to raise a daughter, though, little Bethany here isn't going to be just a replacement-"
"Woah woah-back up! That was a huge bomb that you just dropped! You can't just say that so casually, are you okay?!" Caroline asked, a shocked look on her face.
"Oh-sorry! Just slipped out there! Lucia said quickly, and yes i'm fine! Kicked Andrew out a while ago."
"Oh my god I knew you looked familiar! Your story is all over the news!-"
"LUCIA THESE GOD DAMN NEWS REPORTERS-LOOK AT THIS!" Alice exclaimed, -quieter than normal because there were babies present-bursting into the room, a police ticket in her hand, her shirt stained with blood.
"Oh my gosh, Alice! The blood-"
"Huh? Oh, don't worry it's not mine-"
"WHAT?!"
"That news reporter was trying to film you nursing Bethany" Alice said, clearly upset, "I punched her and got a police ticket."
"Oh, people really need to mind their own business, i'll just have Virgil make a tweet about this later or something, i'm sure It'll pacify the news for now" Lucia sighed.
"So, you traumatized your roommate yet?" Alice joked, trying to get Lucia's mimd off the whole thing.
"Oh, trust me i'm not the one whose traumatized" Caroline said sheepishly.
Alice looked at her, and then her baby.
The kid was practically a mirror of his mother in terms of features like eye and hair color. The baby's eyes were wide, a dark shade of brown and a tuff of black hair on his head.
"Oh my god that kid is going to have beautiful curly hair I can feel it. Look at him!" Alice said, smiling, "gosh, babies just get me so happy I can't even."
"Babies are the one thing you get soft over" Lucia said with a smirk.
"Oh, let me see your little girl" Caroline said, sitting up a little more.
Lucia turned over to her direction and showed off her baby.
"Oh, she-really is abnormally tiny! Oh, her eyes! Their beautiful!" Bethany's eyes were a bright shade of blue, the outside rimmed dark, filled with a baby blue color. She had some light blonde hair on her head.
Lucia sighed, "this has been such a wonderful day...nothing could ruin it."
"I agree" Alice chuckled, "for once something isn't going wrong in your life."

The drive from their hometown to the hospital took just an hour or two to complete. Andrew drove, and Raegan kept him updated from her laptop.
"The baby was born an hour ago. Lucia is in room 302 on the 3rd floor of the building. I have a digital image of the whole building, and I can map out exactly where that is. You can go in through the window. She should be in bed next to the window, with a baby carriage next to her bed. The carriage should be closer to the window than she is. Kill the kid, get in get out. Easy" she said.
She flipped the mirror in the car down to look at herself, "does the ladder we brought extend high enough? This would be about 30 feet of a climb."
"Ladder goes 45 feet. Should be enough" Andrew told her.
"Good. By now she and the baby should be asleep. It's 11 pm, the perfect time. Nobody would think to check up on them unless they got some sort of alert. I got someone, a nurse from the inside to unlock the window and leave it open. I hacked her nurse friend's phone and texted that it was getting too hot in the room. Now go on, do what you do best."
"Alright babe" he smirked, kissing her neck sloppily before exiting the car with his ladder, and rope for a quick exit. He had a pocket knife for a quick kill if he ran out of time.
————————————————————
For Lucia and Caroline, the rest if the day went pretty smoothly. They talked to each other a lot, and found that they had so much in common, they were becoming fast friends, and Alice couldn't even be annoyed when they wouldn't shut up. She was happy for Lucia.
It was around 9pm when they both decided to clock out. Lucia closed the curtain between them, and laid her baby in the crib. The crib was closer to the door than Lucia was, so that spiked her anxiety a little bit. Alice was forced to leave because she 'wasn't the father.'
Which they both were distressed about. Alice wasn't too far away though, as she never really was. She had her ways of sneaking around.
She called goodnight to Caroline, who was rocking her baby to sleep. Caroline called it back, putting her sleeping baby in her crib, and looking out the window at the stars for a bit, enjoying the night chill that came in through the open window.
She fell asleep peacefully, and couldn't wait for her kids and husband to get there the next day to see the baby.
————————————————————
Andrew extended the ladder up to the room number that Raegan had given him. She had gotten out of the car to help him, and stayed outside for the four minutes It took him to completely climb all the way up because he kept pausing every time a gust of wind passed.
She ran back to the car to start it, and he finally began.
As he finally got up to the window, and climbed in, the room was engulfed in darkness. The only light he had was from the stars, which were being covered by storm clouds that were now making light rain.
He quickly tied his rope to a stable part of the window for his quick exit. He looked over, and a quick flash of lightning gave him just enough light to see the crib where the baby was laying near the window.
He smirked, looking at the woman on the bed, running a hand across her cheek, "my dear Lucia..."
He grabbed the baby's fingers and quickly bent them backwards, a sickening snap following as he did the same to the baby's wrist. Immediately, the child began screaming. He wrapped his strong hands around the baby's neck and began to strangle it. He squeezed so hard that the neck turned a horrible, ugly shade of purple, yellow, back and blue within seconds.
The baby's big brown eyes looked cold and lifeless as it tried to reach for air.
He heard a rustling from Lucia's bed, and the woman sat up. He quickly took his pocket knife out and sliced the child's neck.
Heavy rains poured outside, and another strike of lightning flashed as he ran towards the window, pouring baby powder all over his hands. He saw the woman-who he thought was Lucia-look back at him. In horror.
He looked at her with complete shock, sputtering. He quickly scrambled for the window, sliding down the rope as fast as he could, leaving the ladder there, he bolted to the car. Raegan was in the driver's seat for his quick exit.
"Drive" he said quickly, "DRIVE!"
She obeyed immediately, and they quickly drove off. It wasn't long before Andrew was screaming at her. He got the wrong one.
————————————————————
Caroline turned her bedside lamp on, hurriedly reaching for her child, before feeling something wet. She looked down at her hand. Red. She moved her hand and looked at her child.
She screamed. She screamed in horror, in anguish-the sound that escaped her lips echoed with the thunder that boomed from outside. Lucia woke up with a start, and asked what was the matter. But she couldn't stop. Tears filled her vision as she continued to scream. Lucia called a doctor, but everything just blurred together for Caroline.
Her child's wrists and fingers were unnaturally bent. An ugly bruise shaded his chest and neck, and a perfectly straight slice ran across his neck. Blood was seeping out, flowing everywhere, soaking into everything it touched.
Doctors rushed in, she couldn't breathe, all she could say was, "a man, a man! He was right there!" But it was shaky and stuttery and nobody could make sense of her cries.
A chill ran down Lucia's spine. She knew. She had a strong idea of who it was. Shakily, she got her phone out. Her mouth went dry as she pulled up a recent picture of Andrew.
"H-him! IT WAS HIM!! That bastard MURDERED MY CHILD!" She screamed, shaking violently, thrashing around, "where is he?! Where's my baby?! Is he alright?!" She sobbed loudly, forcing the doctors off of her.
She was getting too violent, and they were forced to sedate her. Caroline's eyes began to flutter, closing as she fought to stay awake.
Lucia couldn't believe it, but she should have known. Of course he would try. The cameras were pulled up and the police were called. It was Andrew, no doubt about it. By now they were probably heading back home
Formulating a new plan. How would the police catch him?!
They couldn't.
He would always be out there torment her. Just when she thought she was free, he'd come back to try and get her. To take her down. She'd never get away.
————————————————————
Alice sat outside near the hospital, angered at the stupid rules. 'Your visiting hours are over' she mocked in a high pitched voice. She glared at the floor. She was nearby in a forestry place, wondering why she was even still there. Her thoughts were interrupted as she squinted, a dark car pulling up.
She hid behind a tree when she got a bad feeling. The two people in the car were talking for a little bit, before they both got out with a ladder and rope, and began to sneak off towards the hospital.
She squinted.
She held back a gasp as her eyes grew ten times in size.
It was Andrew and Raegan.
When they got out of her line of sight, she quietly ran off to their car, turning on her phone's flashing, snapping focused pictures of the car and license plate. She opened the trunk of the car, and hopped inside.
It was like a jeep of sorts. The trunk was connected to the rest of the car, so if she sat up completely she could see the rest of it, and the people inside.
She called the police, but the call didn't last long, as Raegan soon came back. She gave the hospital's address and said she'd text the police pictures of the car they were driving.
She sent all the pictures she took, and texted to hurry up. She was in the trunk. She would keep them updated.
Was it a good idea to he in the trunk of two serial killer's? Probably not, but she'd be damned if they weren't behind bars in the next 24 hours. She began to record as soon as she finished texting.
Andrew came back about fifteen minutes later, and she filmed them quietly from the trunk.
He began to yell at her, saying things like 'we got the wrong one.' And, 'that wasn't Lucia'
They had a scream fight about the whole thing and figured this would be good evidence. She was beyond worried for Lucia, but by the sounds of it, Caroline was the one that she needed to worry about.
She was in the car for about an hour and a half, before they parked. She glanced up, wondering where the hell she was.
She noticed certain landmarks, and knew she was certainly back in their hometown. They even drove past Lucia's house at one point. They parked in a secluded area, where a large abandoned grocery store was.
When they left she ended the video, snapping pictures of the place. She sent the video and pictures to Carl and Paul, basically being on first name basis with them by now, and told them to get the hell to the old abandoned Grocery store.
She caught both of them up on the whole spill over a hushed call, and said that he attempted to kill Lucia's newborn baby, but by the sounds of it accidentally got another one instead.
They of course, got an entire team on the case, driving over, about fifty police officer's enclosing the entire place in a circle.
Alice sighed in relief, when after thirty minutes, Andrew and Raegan came out in handcuffs, passed out from probably being tazed about 400 times.
Paul came and removed her from the trunk and gave her a ride back to the police station to fill out a few reports, and so that she could get a hold on Lucia.
Andrew was finally behind bars-again.
