Fred's POV

George was waiting at the door, arms folded and tongue clicking. Why so impatient? I combed my hair to the side and checked myself in the mirror once more before leaving. I planned to meet up with Lizzie in the Great Hall, with George and Jessie.

I walked across, feeling very self conscious. Lizzie was waiting, holding a piece of toast in one hand, a book in the other. I walk up to start a conversation. She looked good today. She put her hair in a bun and was wearing a purple top, black leggings and high boots.

"Hey.. uh.. Hi?" I started.
"Hi!" Replied Lizzie, happily.
"So.. do you want to... uh.. Bemygirlfiend." I whispered fastly.
"Huh?" Lizzie asked. I went red. Hearing George snigger behind me didn't make it any better.
"Do you.... wanna be.... my.... girl.. friend..?" I asked, feeling colour rise up my cheeks. Suddenly I felt embarrassed, mortified. She didn't like me that way. I made a terrible mistake.

Jessie and George walked backwards. It was me and Lizzie. She stood awkwardly for a minute before..
"I'm really sorry. But I.. No. I can't." She muttered. That was the end. I felt my throat burn and ran back to the common room.

Lizzie's POV

Fred walked down the stairs, looking awkward. He wore a red shirt and black jeans, with slicked hair. George stood behind him, occasionally sniggering.

"Hey.. uh.. Hi?" He started awkwardly.
"Hi!" I replied, happily.
"So.. do you want to... uh.. Bemygirlfiend." He whispered fastly. I didn't understand half of it.
"Huh?" I asked. He went red.
"Do you.... wanna be.... my.... girl.. friend..?"
George walked away, closely followed by Jessie
Shock rushed inside. I liked him, but my dad said no boyfriends until 13. I felt loads of remorse but..
"I'm really sorry. But I.. No. I can't." I muttered. He hid his face and ran, all the way up, closely followed by George. I slammed my book (Magical Plants and Fungi) on the table before I ran to transfiguration. What had I done?
