That's the smile
"Sofia honey, don't cry. It's not real. I'm okay!" Jessica chuckles as she softly strokes her hair.
"It wasn't that good." Arabella says.
There was a monitor backstage so the kids were able to watch.
Jessica turns to her and Arabella smirks.
"The twins even fell asleep, I just be playing by myself up here!"
"You didn't like it?"
"Nope."
"Well thanks!" Jessica chuckles.
"Sof, don't cry, sweet girl."
Sofia looked into Jessica's eyes and held her cheeks in her hands.
Tears were still falling down her face.
"I love you so much, momma."
"I love you more, baby girl."
Jessica hugs her tight as Jackson walks over and places his hand on her back.
"That was really good, momma. You're good!" He smiles.
"Thank you, my boy!" Jessica gives him a big hug.

A week later.
The kids were at Danny's for the weekend so Jessica called Sam and asked if he wanted to come over. He of course accepted. Jessica cleaned up the house and cooked the two of them a delicious meal.
"Okay, the food is almost ready.. My house still looks a wreck but whatever!" Jessica mumbles to herself before letting out an exhausted sigh.
"Why am I nervous? This is Sam. You're okay, Jessica. You're fine!"
*Doorbell rings*
"Ah!" Jessica jumps and grabs her chest as her eyes shoot to the front door.
She walks over to the front of the house and takes a deep breath before opening the door.
"Hey!" She smiles.
"Hey! You look beautiful." Sam smiles and kisses her cheek.
"Thank you! Come on in."
"I brought some wine."
"Mmm! Thanks!"
"Dinner is just about ready." She smiles softly.
"Great! It smells good in here!"
"Thank you. Oh and excuse the mess! I cleaned up but.. well I have three toddlers so..."
"Heh! It's fine! You have a nice place."
"Thanks!"
Jessica went to the stove quickly and Sam snuck up behind her. He placed his hands around her waist and kissed her neck.
"Mm.. You smell so good."
Jessica giggles and moves her head.
"Stop it, that tickles!"
He chuckles and pats her butt before sitting down.
Jessica could feel his eyes staring her body down.
"You're a mess, Samuel Shepard."
**
"Oh gosh.. Jess, that was so good!"
"Really? I'm glad you liked it! Ready for dessert?"
"Mmm.. Yes I am." Sam smirks.
"Calm down, big boy! I made a cake!"
"Well we can use that!"
Jessica chuckles and rolls her eyes as she stands up to grab the cake.
Sam grabs her wrist and pulls her onto his lap.
"Ah!" Jessica giggles.
Sam places one hand on her back and the other on her thigh.
Jessica wraps her arms around his neck and looks into his eyes.
"You're so beautiful."
Jessica smiles and pecks his lips.
"Mmm Sweet!"
Jessica chuckles and taps his shoulder before standing up to grab the dessert.
**
After dinner Jessica and Sam sat in the living room drinking wine and talking.
"It's getting late.. I guess I should get going." Sam says checking his watch.
Hearing that made Jessica a little upset. The days the kids were with their father Jessica felt so lonely. She absolutely hated the silence.
"Just stay." She tells him.
"You sure?"
"Yeah." Jessica smiles softly.
"Thanks." Sam sat back down as Jessica slipped her heels off before putting her feet up on his lap.
Sam started massaging her feet and Jessica laid her head to the side.
"You look sleepy."
"I am. I run crazy all day, everyday."
"I don't know how you did it on Broadway plus taking care of the kids. You're supermom."
"Hah, thanks. It's hard.. but I love them so much so it's all worth it."
Sam smiles before moving her legs and crawling up her body.
He kisses her neck then her lips. Jessica readjusts herself and wraps her arms around him.
Jessica lifts her leg up on his side and Sam places his hand on her thigh.
She runs her hands through his hair as she intensifies the kiss.
Sam slides his hand between them and cups her center.
Jessica lets out a small moan as he slips his hand in her underwear.
"Sam wait!" Jessica stops kissing him and lightly pushes him away.
"What's wrong?"
"I'm sorry, I just.. I can't do this right now."
"It's okay.."
"I'm sorry."
"No Jess, don't apologize, I understand... I'm sorry!"
"No Sam, don't be!"
"I uh.. I should go."
"No, please stay.
I mean if you want to go you can.. I just hate being alone.."
"No, it's fine.. Of course I'll stay."
Jessica sits beside him and cuddles into him.
"It's stupid because we've already had sex.. I'm just so fucked up lately."
"No you're not, Jess. You're going through a lot right now, it's alright."
"Thanks.."

A few days later.
It was nap time so Jessica was packing up a few things before Danny came to get the kids. He was going to take them for a few hours so Jessica could get a little more packing done.
"Momma, my sink is broken, I'm gonna call daddy to come fix it!" Sofia says walking into Jessica's room.
"No! No, don't call him.. I can fix it."
"You can fix it?" Sofia slightly raises her brows.
"Yeah.. yeah, I can do it!" Jessica smiles.
"Okay.."
"Don't look at me like that! Don't you think I can do it?"
"Heh, no I'm sure you can.. Can I watch?"
"You little booty! Let me get my tools!"
Sofia laughs and follows her mother.
**
"Okay.. Well it's not broken. I think I take this.. this thing and tighten this pole, and I think that should be it."
Sofia smirks and nods her head.
"I'm gonna show you, little missy!"
...
"There we go! All fixed!" Jessica smiles so proudly just seconds before the pipe bursts and water goes everywhere!"
Sofia lets out a high pitched scream.
"Ah! Dammit!" Jessica yells.
"I'm calling dad!"
"No!" Jessica grabs her arm.
"Mom, you're flooding the apartment!"
Sofia takes off and Jessica sighs.
"I want him to see that I can handle these things!"
"Well then fix it, mom!" She shouts as she calls her father.
"Hello?"
"Daddy! Are you almost here? We need you!"
"We don't need him, Sofia!" Jessica shouts.
"What's wrong, Sof!" Danny asks now worried.
"My sink is broken so mom tried to fix it but now there's water everywhere and she can't stop it!"
"I'm coming. I'm parking right now."
"Okay I'm coming to open the door!"
Sofia hangs up and Jessica gives her a look.
"Why did you call your father?"
"Mom, stop it! He's just going to help!"
Sofia lets him in and Danny runs upstairs.
Jessica was still trying to fix it when he came in.
She turned to him with a sad face.
Danny smiled softly. She looked so cute and innocent.
Danny bent over and quickly fixed it.
He looked at Jessica and she lowered her head.
"Thanks.."
"You're welcome.." Danny tried hard but he couldn't hold back his laughter.
"Why are you laughing at me!" Jessica whines.
"I'm sorry! I just.. Jessica, what did you do? You're all wet!" He laughs.
"Danny, will you just go get the kids and leave!"
"I'm sorry.. Let me just clean this up for you."
"I've got it!" Jessica snaps at him.
"Alright.. Sorry. Let me just look at this... Being serious, what did you do?"
"I just tightened it!"
"I was just asking. Jess.."
"What?"
"Did Sofia mess with it?"
"I don't think so. She told me it was broken but I looked at it and thought all it needed was to be tightened.. She wanted to call you but I told her I could do it."
"Hm.. okay."
"What?"
"It just looks like someone messed with it."
"Why would she do that?"
"I don't know." He shrugs.
"Where's Coltan?"
"I left him downstairs. He's not really feeling well today.. Don't worry I'll keep him away from the kids."
"Well hopefully it's nothing to bad and it'll pass soon."
I hope so.. Well I guess I better go get the kids ready to leave. You want me to bring you back anything later?"
"No, I'm fine.. thanks though."
"Sure. Are you sure you don't need help cleaning this up?"
"Yeah, I've got it. You go."
"Alright. I'll see you."
"Bye."
Danny left and Jessica sat their staring straight ahead just thinking.
Sofia came skipping into the bathroom.
"Whatcha thinking about, momma?" She smiles.
Jessica takes a deep breath in.
"Nothing. Hey, did you mess with this?" Jessica points to the sink.
"Me?! Nuh uh!" Sofia nods.
"That's what I thought.. Alright, well go get your things so you're ready when your father is."
"Okay!" Sofia smiles then quickly kisses her cheek before she runs back into her room.
**
"Daddy, where are we going?" Sofia asks once they are all in the car.
"Well I was gonna to the P-A-R-K." He spells so the babies don't start bugging to go to the park.
"But I think Cole is getting sick, Arabella's moody, and the twins are pretty fussy as well. How about we go home and put a movie on for the kids while you and Jax help me make some cookies."
"That sounds fun!"
"It will be fun!"
"Yeah!"
**
"What do you guys wanna watch?"
"Tangled!" Arabella shouts.
"NO!" Joshua says.
"We wanna watch Paw Patrol." Joseph says in a more quiet tone.
"Oh no way! I am NOT gonna watch that!" Arabella nods.
"Okay you guys, enough. I'm gonna put it on Cars. You all like that movie."
"Noooo! Tangled! Tangled! Tangled!" Arabella marches and holds her hands in fists.
Danny can't help but laugh a little.
"I'm putting it on cartoons, and if you three continue to fight then I will turn it off and you will all lose your cookies."
"Okay we be good! We be good!" Joseph says softly petting his brother and sister.
Danny chuckles and changes the tv.
**
"Daddy, this isn't the way mommy makes them." Sofia nods and makes a face.
"This is my own special way, Sof."
"Well I want mommy's cookies." She pouts.
"Your mom does make the best cookies, doesn't she?
... Her snickerdoodle.. Man those are SO good!"
"Make them!"
"Sofia, I don't know how she makes them."
"Then call her!"
"We're not gonna call her, your mother's busy right now."
"It's okay, we can call her, she won't mind! Can I have you phone, please?"
Danny sighs, "Alright, here."
"Thank you!"
Sofia runs out of the kitchen and calls her mother.
"Hello?" Jessica answers sounding a bit winded.
"Hi mommy!"
"Hi baby, everything okay?"
"Yes! Well no!"
"What's wrong?"
"Daddy needs your help!"
"With what? Does he need my plumbing skills?" Jessica jokes.
"Haha! No!"
Jessica laughs.
"Well then what's up?"
"We're making cookies and Daddy and I really really feel like eating your special ones!"
"Ohh.. My special snickerdoodle cookies?"
"Yes, he's trying but he's failing, momma!"
Jessica laughs, "Well.. it's a lot to text him right now."
"Well you could make some when you're finished packing! Please momma, we all really really feel like eating them right now!"
"Alright well I'm about to stop soon anyway. I'll go ahead and make some special just for my Princess."
"YAY! Thank you!"
"You're welcome, baby."
"Okay bye!"
Sofia hung up and laughed.
"I'm so good!"
..
"Here's your phone, daddy! Momma said that she knows how much you love her cookies so she's gonna make some special since you helped her with the sink earlier!"
"Oh really?" Danny smiled big.
"Mhm!" Sofia nods.
"Well that's really nice." Danny looks down but he still had a smile on his face.
"There it is! That's the smile! I have to get them back together! Only momma makes him smile like that!" Sofia thinks with a smile on her face as well.
