Spring Break 2020.

Due to Jessica's health the Huston family had to stay in.  Luckily the kids didn't mind.  As long as they were with their mother nothing else mattered to them.

Currently the kids are all in their parent's bedroom.  The younger four were coloring with their mother, and the older two just sat around enjoying the sound of their mother's voice and laugh.

"Mommy, I'm so glad you're back to give me my medicine!  Daddy doesn't do it right!" Arabella pouts.

"Aw he doesn't?" Jessica chuckles.

"Nope!"

"Well I'm sorry!  But mommy's back, and she's not going anywhere, Bella!" She says with a gorgeous smile.

"No she's not!" Coltan says cuddling into his mother.

"I love you so so much, mommy!"

"I love you so much more, Coltan!"

"I'm gonna take a nap on you, okay?"

Jessica giggles.
"You go ahead, baby boy!  There's no better place to sleep on than mommy, huh?"

"Yep.."

Jessica laughed at how quickly Coltan went out.

"Momma, maybe you'll be okay for us to all go to the beach?" Joshua randomly asked.

"Mommy has to stay home, JOSHUA!" Joseph shouts.

"I just meant one time only JOSEPH!"

"Boys don't fight.  I don't see why we couldn't go at least for a little while.."

"Are you sure momma?" Jackson asks.

"Yeah buddy, I'm feeling great!" Jessica smiles.

"We should talk to daddy about it first." Sofia says.

"Daddy is gonna do whatever I say because I'm the boss!" Jessica says making her children laugh.

After some convincing, Danny decided to rent a beach house for the weekend.  If Jessica wanted to go to the beach, he was going to grant her wish.  But with the health of his wife, and the current scare in the world, he wanted to take the more safe approach.

Jessica was still weak in many ways, so Danny would push her around in a wheelchair so she wouldn't get too tired.  He also had to stay on top of all of Jessica's medications even though they were on a mini vacation.

Sofia admired the love her parent's had for each other.  She knows that they have gone through hard times, but the fact that after all of that.  After the lying, cheating, yelling, and ex lovers coming in to ruin things.  After all of that, her parents are still together, and stronger than ever.

On their last night at the beach house they all sat around a bonfire roasting marshmallows.

"I love this." Sofia smiled.  Her eyes twinkling like the beautiful stars above.

"It's been a fun weekend, huh?" Jessica smiles.

"The best!  I'm so happy we're all back together."

"Nothing will ever tear us apart, baby girl." Jessica says. "I'm so happy God has given us second, third, and fourth chances!  I will forever be so grateful."

"Me too." Danny agrees earning a beautiful smile from his wife.

Danny had his music connected to a bluetooth  speaker.  The music was on shuffle, and the next song to play was, "You're still the one" by Shania Twain.

"May I have this dance, my beautiful bride?" Danny stands.

"Well of course, kind sir!" Jessica laughs, speaking in a accent.

Danny helps her stand, then holds her small fragile body as they slowly sway to the music.

"Did you ever think when we danced to this at our wedding all those years ago, that we would be here now?  Having gone through separation, depression, loss, grief.. So many things!  Did you ever think we'd be here.. so in love?" Jessica asks.

"I never imagined we would go through the things we've been through.. but Yes, I knew I'd always be crazy about you, angel."

Jessica smiles and scrunches her nose as Danny leans down to kiss her.

"You okay?  Are you getting tired?"

"A little bit.." Jessica says with heavy lids.

"How's this?" Danny scoops her up and continues dancing.

"It's wonderful!" Jessica giggles and wraps her loving arms around him.

"Ain't nothin' better

Both Danny and Jessica sing to each other, and end the song with a slow but passionate kiss.

Two weeks later.

Jessica laid in bed with a bad cough and chills.

"Here's your medicine, honey.  You'll feel all better soon, okay?" Danny says in a nice soothing voice.

Jessica coughed and coughed, and coughed!

"That doesn't sound good.  How bout we go to the emergency room?"

"NO!  No, please!"

"Honey, we have to be on the safe side.  You haven't been exposed but.. well we both know that a lot of people are coming down with this Coronavirus thing and-"

"I don't have it, Danny!"

"I know baby, but what I'm saying is, we can't take any chances with you.  We just want to be safe, right?"

"Yeah.." Jessica struggles to speak due to her cough.

Danny then places his hand on her forehead.
"Shit, you're burning up!  I'm taking you in right now!"

"No Danny, please!  I'll go in the morning!"

"No, right now.  Come on.  Then they can give you some medicine to knock it out of you."

"I'm already on medicine!" Jessica shouts and hits the open medicine bottle he brought up, making a mess on the floor.

"Jessica.. baby, please please cooperate with me.  I'm doing this for your own good."

"I don't want to go back there, Danny.  I can't be away from my kids for that long again.." Jessica cries. "I won't make it, I know I won't!"

"Baby girl, I won't leave without you.  You are not going to stay there."

"Promise?"

"I promise." Danny looks deep into Jessica's eyes.

"Okay."

"I love you so much, beautiful girl."

"I love you too, Danny."

Danny smiles softly and kisses Jessica's lips.

There are five more chapters of this book, and to be honest I am very very stuck on the ending.

This family deserves a happy ending, but I'm still not sure if that is the direction I'm going to go in.  I keep going back and forth!

I have a few ideas for some new stories and I'm really really excited about them, but I need to end some of my older stories before starting.
