Momma
Jessica's alarm went off early the next morning.
"Momma?" Coltan rubs his eyes.
"No sweetie, it's Jessie."
"Silly Jessie!" He chuckles and turns to give her a sleepy smile.
Jessica smiles and messes with his hair.
"You go back to sleep. I'm gonna get in the shower."
"Okay. We're gonna see daddy today, right?"
"Yep! We can bring him the pictures you and your brothers and sister drew for him."
"Yeah!" Coltan says as his eyes start to fall.
Jessica chuckles.
"Get some more sleep, honey."
After taking a shower and getting dressed Jessica went back to her bed to wake Coltan up.
"Okay now it's time to wake up.. come on, Cole. You want some breakfast?"
Coltan rubs his eyes and holds his arms up.
"You lazy boy!" Jessica laughs and picks him up.
Coltan lays his head on Jessica's shoulder as she walks down the hall to wake the kids up.
"Bella Boo, wake up princess."
"No not yet."
"Heh, yes get up."
"Momma I need you to get out of my room... Now."
"What's up with all this laziness this morning?"
"Mom."
"Mom? Mom?!" Jessica tickles her.
"My name is mommy, you butt!"
Arabella giggles but gets extremely irritated with her mother.
"Momma stop it! Stop it!
I'm gonna tell grandma on you!" She says in a serious tone.
Jessica laughs.
"You silly booty. Come on, so we can get ready to see daddy."
"Oh my gosh I almost forgotted! I need to get dressed so I can se my poor daddy!"
Arabella jumped out of bed and ran to her closet.
"Baby, let's eat some breakfast, then you can get dressed."
"My daddy's waiting, mommy!"
"Your daddy is in therapy, little girl. You have time."
"Fine! I want bacon and eggs with toast." Arabella points her finger at Jessica.
"And don't burn it this time!" She shouts as she leaves the room.
"She's a mess!" Jessica chuckles.
**
Finally after a bit of a struggle to get all of the kids fed and ready, Jessica loaded them all up and drove to see Danny.
"Oh daddy! I've missed you so so much" Arabella runs to him.
"Oh princess! I've missed you too, baby!"
All of the kids got so excited to see their father.
"Daddy, you get out of this chair right now!" Arabella points demanding her father listen to her.
"Bella, remember what mommy told you?" Jessica says calmly as she grabs her hand.
"But it's so sad.. I want my daddy to pick me up high! So high I almost touch the stars. You member, daddy? You say catch, catch, catch the stars!"
"Of course I do, baby. I promise you I'm gonna get better, okay?"
Arabella looks at Danny with sadness in her eyes.
"Oh Bella Boo, it's okay!" Jessica picks her up.
"I don't want my daddy here! It smells like old people!"
Danny and Jessica couldn't help but chuckle.
"Honey, he'll be home soon."
Once Arabella calmed down Danny spoke to all of the kids, and told them how his therapy was going.
"Daddy, I wanted to see you because I thought you died!"
"Oh Coltan, I'm alright. Don't think like that, bud."
"But I'm scared you're gonna die like my mommy. Then I won't have a mommy or a daddy!"
"Cole, you're too young to be worrying about things like that! Just be happy and be a kid. You don't have to worry about me. I'm okay."
"Good! Daddy, I got to sleep with Jessie last night!"
"You did?! Sleeping with Jessie is always fun!" Danny chuckles.
"Very funny, Daniel." Jessica chuckles.
"He had a nightmare so I told him he could sleep in bed with me."
"Oh he did?"
"Yeah and she cuddled me all night long! I love her so so much! She's my Jessie!" Coltan smiles at Jessica.
"Awe, how sweet." Danny smiles.
As time went by Danny could tell Sofia was a little upset.
"You okay, Sof?"
Sofia softly nods but stays silent.
"Are you sure?" Jessica rubs her back.
Sofia looks up to her mother and immediately tears up.
"Oh honey, what's the matter?"
Jessica hugs her daughter as she sobs into her chest.
"Why would someone do this to him? What if he never walks again? I want him to be normal. I want him to walk me down the aisle when I get married, he's too young to be this way!"
"Sofia honey, the doctor said that daddy will be okay. It just takes a lot of work.. But he can do it. Your daddy will be just fine. We have to look on the bright side of things.. *Sighs* Things could have been.. they could have been so much worse."
"I know. It just scares me. Did they catch the man who did this?"
"Yes, honey."
"Why did he do it to him?"
"Your father just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. He's safe now, honey."
"Sof, come here, Princess." Danny holds his hand out for Sofia.
Sofia takes his hand and he guides her onto his lap.
"I know this is something we never ever thought would happen but.. *Sighs* Sometimes life is unpredictable.. We know that. We as a family have been through a lot, and I know this time just like every other time.. we'll be okay."
Sofia looks down and nods.
"Don't cry.. you're way too pretty for tears." Danny wipes her cheeks and Sofia hugs him tight.
"Oh I love you, Princess."
"I love you more, daddy."
"... Plus just think if this doesn't all work out.. You and I could speed down the aisle in one of those super fast motorized scooters!"
"Daddy that's not funny!"
"Hey I tried!" Danny laughs and shrugs his shoulders.
"Oh and uh.. I'm sure you know by now that your wish came true."
Sofia smiles.
"What? About you and mommy?"
"Yep!"
"I knew you two would be together. You belong together. You're both insane!"
"Thanks!" Jessica laughs.
"Heh! It was hard seeing momma so sad being away from you.. and it was hard seeing you that way too! I didn't understand why you guys were being so freaking stubborn! If you love each other then just SAY IT!"
Danny chuckles.
"Well we're together now."
"Yeah, and nothing will ever break us apart. I promise you that, sweet heart." Jessica says making a smile appear on Sofia's face.
**
Some time passes and the subject of school comes up.
"Bella Boo and Cole will be starting school this year! Are you two excited?"
"NO!" They both pout.
Jessica laughs and Danny says, "Come on, you guys! It's fun! Isn't it, Jax?"
Jackson turns to him and nods his head.
"Heh! You know better than to ask him, honey!" Jessica laughs.
"Jackson hates school! I've learned to love it!" Sofia smiles.
"Yeah well you're not normal, Sofia!"
"That's mean, Jackson! You're just because I'm smarter than you are!"
"Heh! O-Kay!" Jackson scoffs.
"We talked about it and we not going to school." Coltan nods.
"Oh you've already discussed this, have you?" Jessica laughs.
"Yeah we gonna stay home together and play." Arabella says.
"Arabella, you're a big girl though!"
"Well Danny, I was thinking and since Bella isn't as advanced, which is totally fine! But since she's a little behind, I was thinking maybe waiting a year and she can start with the twins."
"Bella's smart, babe."
"Well I know, it's just.. I worry about my baby, Danny. You know it's different with her.."
"I understand what you're saying. I guess a year wouldn't hurt her."
"Thank you. But Coltan, you can still go, buddy." Jessica smiles.
"No way, Jessie!"
"Oh sweetie, it's fun!"
"Yeah Cole, you'll make so many friends in school!"
"I have enough friends."
Jessica laughs and Danny asks, "Well how about you just try it out and see how you like it?"
"I guess so.."
"Good job, buddy! I bet you'll love it." Jessica smiles.
"Probably not." He says making his father and Jessica laugh.

August.
After weeks of therapy Danny is ready to live back at home. He can do a lot more now but is still not at a hundred percent. He is still in his wheelchair so Jessica has been getting a lot of help from her in laws, brother, and Coltan's aunt who visits quite often. Jessica's parents and sister do not approve of her now raising Coltan so their relationship has been rocky. Also, since Danny's home is big enough for all of them that is where they are currently staying.
Jessica is in the middle of cooking dinner while Danny is in the living room with the kids.
"Daddy, how does this look for the first day of school?"
"I think you look beautiful, doll." Danny smiles.
"Thank you! I'm in the seventh grade now so I have to look my best!"
Danny chuckles.
"Well don't worry. Like your mother, you Always look beautiful." He says as Jessica walks in handing him a glass of water.
Jessica smiles and Danny pulls her onto his lap.
"Daniel! My buns are gonna burn!"
"Honey, your buns are always on fire!" He mumbles and kisses her neck making her squirm.
"Daddy!" Sofia whines.
He laughs and Jessica lets out a giggle.
"Momma, I'm hungry!" Joseph yells.
"I'm trying, honey!"
"Try harder!" Joshua says.
Jessica laughs and taps Danny's arm.
"Honey, I have to go!"
Danny lets her go and slaps her butt.
"Daniel!"
"It's been over a year, babe. Give me a break!"
At the end of the day after the kids were finally asleep Jessica helped Danny into bed and laid beside him.
"You tired?" Danny asks.
"Tired is an understatement." Jessica chuckles with exhaustion.
"I'm sorry. You know how much I appreciate you, right?" Danny asks taking Jessica's hand.
Jessica turns to him and gives him a soft smile.
"I do."
Jessica scoots closer to Danny and lays on his chest.
"This is a nice place you've got here, mister,"
"Thank you! You know I.. well I bought this big of a home with the hope of one day.."
"You hoped we would one day get back together?"
"Yeah.."
"That's sweet." Jessica smiles and squeezes him a little tighter.
"It's been way too long since we've done this."
"I know. I've missed sharing a bed with you. I've missed your cuddles.." He says making Jessica smile.
"I've missed.. I've missed a lot of things, Jess."
Jessica laughs and looks up to him.
She gently rubs her hand on his chest and repositions herself to give soft kisses to his neck.
Jessica runs her hand down and into his pants. She softly strokes him over his underwear as she takes a bite of his neck taking him by surprise.
"Jess baby.. I want you."
Jessica gives Danny a smile as she straddles him.
Jessica kisses his lips passionately then moves down his body to pull his pants and boxers off.
She took him in her hand and stroked his member back and forth.
Danny laid his head back and his breathing became a bit heavier.
"Come here." Danny spoke in a low voice.
Jessica quickly removed her clothes before climbing up to the position Danny wanted her in.
Jessica lowered herself over Danny's face then bent forward and continued her work on his member.
Her moans vibrated on him and his hot hair only added to the intense feeling between her legs.
Jessica bobbed her head back and forth as she felt herself getting close. Her body shook but she tried her best to hold on.
"Jess-" Danny mumbled just before Jessica switched her position.
She guided his member into her and began riding him hard.
Danny grabbed her hips and dug his nails into her skin as he felt her warm slippery walls tighten around him.
Jessica's breathing quickened and she threw her head back as she let out a moan.
"Oh Danny.." She whispered loudly.
Jessica slapped her body down on his as intense feelings filled their bodies.
"Ah! OHH!" Jessica moaned loudly as her body shook.
Jessica slowed down her movements and road out the last of her orgasm.
Slowly she opened her eyes and smiled down at Danny.
"That was awesome."
Jessica laughs and lays her body forward.
"You're amazing.. you're the best ever, honey.. I love you." She says before kissing his lips.
"Mmm.. I love you more. I love you with all my heart, Jessie."
Jessica smiles and Danny moves a piece of her hair from her face.
"A year without you was pure torture.. But we have a lifetime to make up for all the stupid things we did. I love you more than you will ever know, Jessica Lange. I swear to you that I'll never ever leave you. You're stuck with me, babe."
Jessica giggles as she softly plays with his curls.
"Well good! Because I never ever want to live without you again. I've missed my big ole teddy bear! I love my little jackass." She laughs.
"Haha! Oh it's good to be home!"
Jessica laughs harder before kissing him passionately.
***
The first day of school came and Jackson and Coltan were dreading it.
Sofia was excited to see all of her friends, and Jessica was happy to have a little break, although the three wildest ones were the three that were still at home.
That morning Zoey came to watch the younger ones so Jessica and Danny could take the older kids to school.
Bringing Danny along came with some difficulties, but of course he wanted to be there for Coltan's first day of school so Jessica was going to do whatever it took.
Coltan sat on Danny's lap on the way into the school. He sucked his thumb and hung his head.
"Coltan, give Jessie a smile, buddy!" Jessica smiles holding her camera up.
Coltan laid on Danny but looked up at the camera.
"Don't look so sad, baby. Smile for Jessie!"
Jessica snapped the picture right before Coltan pouted and reached up for Jessica to grab him.
"You little cutie. Don't be sad, okay?"
Coltan's teacher came up and spoke with him but he wanted absolutely nothing to do with her.
"No. No. No." He said nodding his head and facing towards Jessica who was bend down beside him.
"Coltan, this is Ms. Joans. Can you say hi?"
"No. Jessie, I want you!"
"You'll see me after school, okay?"
"I want youuuuu!" Coltan bounces up and down as he begins to cry.
He grabs onto Jessica and bawls.
"Cole.. let go of her and say hello."
"No! Jessie makes me safe and I'm not safe here!"
"Coltan, you Are safe here, buddy." Jessica rubs his back.
"No I not! Someone's gonna take me!" Coltan says as he struggles to breathe.
"Honey, shh, shh, shh. Look at me." Jessica says looking into his eyes.
"No one is going to take you. These are nice people here, you're gonna have fun."
"No I'm not! Please Jessie! I'll be a good boy! I promise!" He said sobbing into her chest.
"Daddy, let me go home with you! What if you get hurt and Jessie gets hurt? Who's gonna pick me up?"
"Honey, everyone's fine."
"Come on Coltan, you're okay." His teacher grabs his hand before he yanks it away.
"NO!"
"Can we just have a second, please?" Jessica asks.
"Usually once the parents leave the child will calm down."
"Okay. Give us a second."
"Yes ma'am."
Coltan was just crying and crying and wouldn't let go of Jessica.
"Honey, you're fine."
"No.. I'm not!" Coltan struggles to say.
"What do you think is going to happen, baby?"
"The bad man might come in here and shoot me like he shooted my daddy!"
Jessica looks at Danny. They both felt so bad for him.
"Cole, that's not gonna happen."
"How do you know!" He yells at Danny.
"Because I just do. Everything will be okay."
Coltan continues crying.
"Listen, you stay here today and if you still don't like it, then we'll see what we do, okay?"
"Okay."
"But you have to stay the whole day!"
"No!" He cries harder.
Danny sighs.
"Jess, we have to just leave him."
"What? We can't leave him like this, he's so upset and scared!"
"Jessica, we have to. He'll never stopped if we don't leave."
Jessica sighs looks at Coltan.
She knew Danny was right. She just felt so bad for him.
"Daddy's right, Cole. I'll see you in just a little while, okay?"
"But Jessie, I love you!"
Coltan knew his father wasn't going to budge, but he thought he had a little hope with Jessica.
Hearing Coltan tell Jessica he loved her made her heart break. I love you too, sweetie.. but you have to see how you like it.. Daddy and Jessie can't stay."
After a lot of tears Jessica and Danny finally left. They heard the sobs as they left down the hall.
Jessica couldn't help but cry.
The new receptionist at the front saw them and asked, "Awe! Is this your first?"
"Heh, no. It's just hard when you ave to leave them screaming and crying." Danny answers.
"Oh I completely understand! Don't worry, I'm sure your child will love it by the end of the day!"
"I hope so. Come on, Jessie.. Why don't we go out for lunch just us two? My mom won't mind."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah I already asked her." He chuckles.
"Okay. What do you feel like eating?"
"It doesn't matter to me. What do you prefer?"
"Something quick so I can go see my babies!"
"I thought you'd want a little time out of the house."
"Well I guess time out without the kids could do me some good."
"Of course it can! I'm taking you to Millers."
"Mmm that sounds good!"
**
"You know Danny, I was so worried about Arabella going to school but I never thought of Coltan."
"What do you mean?"
"He has separation anxiety. I was that way when I was a child but nothing that traumatic even happened to me! I can't even imagine how horrible that must feel. I hate knowing he feels unsafe. It breaks my heart."
"I know and I feel terrible but... What?" Danny asks when he sees Jessica's expression change.
"Well he's your son so I'm not going to interfere with what you want for him.. But.."
"What? You think I should take him out of school?"
"Well I just think sending all four of them next year would be better."
"Jessica-"
"It's just preschool! Some parents hold off for a year anyway."
"I'll watch him and see how he does. I don't want to pull him right away, it's barely his first day."
"You're right. I just feel so bad. I'm such a push over when it comes to children!"
"Jess.. thank you for caring for him. I know he's not your responsibility at all but I really appreciate everything you're doing and have done for him."
"Oh Danny, it's no problem.
.. at the beginning of all of this I never would have thought a year later this is what my life would be... But that little boy stole my heart, Danny.
Yeah at first every time I'd look at him I was reminded of what happened.. but over the past few months Cole and I, as well as our children.. we've created so many memories. When I see him, I don't think of what happened in the past as much.. how he got here doesn't really enter my mind. He's just Coltan.
I've seen how he can be a happy and funny child to being scared and alone. My heart actually breaks to see him so upset. Danny, he's told me that his mother took medicine, and that he didn't understand why she still took it because it made her even more sick. I hate that woman with a burning passion. Yes she's a home wrecker but that was you too.." Danny lowers his head and Jessica continues.
"But when you do that in front of your child.. I know you're not supposed to speak ill of the dead but fuck her for doing that to him! He deserves so much better."
Danny reaches over and holds Jessica's hand.
"He's getting the life he deserves now, Jessie. He's in a home full of people who love him. Thank you so so much for loving him. You have no idea how much it means to me."
**
Coltan's POV.
"Please call my daddy! I want to go home!"
"Sweetie, you're okay. Mommy and daddy will be here to pick you up soon."
"My mommy's dead! She's not coming to get me!"
"Oh goodness, I'm so sorry!"
"My daddy and my Jessie are coming to get me!"
"You'll see them soon, dear."
"I want my Jessie! She holds me and says I'll be okay. She makes it better, PLEASE call my Jessie!"
"I'll tell you what.. you sit with me and color this picture for your daddy and Jessie-"
"She's MY Jessie!" Coltan pats his chest.
"Your Jessie! You can draw them a picture and give it to them when they pick you up. That would be so nice, wouldn't it?"
Coltan sniffles and nods his head.
Coltan drew his picture but silent tears ran down his face the entire school day. He just wanted to be with his family. He was so scared being left alone.
**
After lunch Danny and Jessica went back home until it was time to pick Coltan up from school.
"Momma, where you going?" Joseph asks.
"We are going to pick up Coltan."
"But not Sofia and Jackson?"
"No they won't be home till later."
"Okay, you be carful momma!"
Jessica smiles.
"I will, baby! You be good for grandma."
"I always am! Bella and Josh are bad kids!"
"I am not!" Arabella hits Joseph.
"Arabella no!"
"He says I mean!"
"You hit him!"
"Cause He Said I Mean!!"
Jessica chuckles and says goodbye to her children before she and Danny head out once again.
"Thanks for loading me and unloading me everywhere."
"Heh, no problem honey."
Jessica and Danny waited out in the schools courtyard for Coltan to walk out with his class.
"There he is. Oh Danny, look at him!" Jessica says as Coltan walks out with his head hung low and his little hand scratching his eye.
"Coltan!" Jessica calls him.
Coltan looks up and the happiest smile appears on his face.
"Daddy! Jessie!"
Danny smiles and holds his arms out just to be dissed.
Coltan ran into Jessica's arms and she hugged him tight.
"I missed you!"
"Oh sweet boy, I missed you too! Don't you want to hug your daddy?" Jessica giggles.
"Yeah! I missed you so much, daddy! I don't want to come back to this place ever ever again!"
"Oh bud, I bet it wasn't that bad!"
"Yeah, your teacher is really nice and you met so many new friends today!" Jessica says.
"No I didn't! I didn't like anyone!"
Jessica can't help but laugh.
"What did you do today, bud?" Danny asks.
"I colored you and momma a picture!" Jessica's eyes shot towards Danny and he looked right to her.
Coltan didn't even realize what he said so Danny and Jessica didn't mention it.
"Look it's daddy in his moving chair and Jessie in the kitchen making me some cookies!"
Jessica chuckles and rubs his back.
"And who are these little munchkins? Is that your brothers and sisters?" Jessica asks pointing to his drawing.
"Mhm! And this ones me! Can you put it up on the frige?" Coltan asks handing Jessica the sheet of paper.
"Of course I can!" Jessica smiles and kisses his cheek.
**
Dinner.
"Sofia and Jackson, how was school?" Jessica asks.
"Great!" Sofia says with a smile while Jackson makes a face.
"Terrible!"
"Oh Jackson, I bet it wasn't really that bad!"
"It was awful!"
"Heh, but your day was okay, Sof?" Danny asks.
"Yes! I love my teachers and it was so nice seeing all of my friends!"
"Well that's good, honey!" Jessica smiles.
"How was your first day, Cole?"
"Sofie it was not good!"
"Awe, I'm sorry!"
"It's okay, I'm not going back anyway."
"Yes you are!" Danny chuckles.
"NOOO! I hate it!"
Arabella gasps.
"You said a bad word!" She says before slapping his face.
"Arabella Kaiden!" Jessica raises her voice.
"He said a bad word!"
"Just worry about your self, little missy."
"Okay... OOhh! Ooohhhh! I almost forgoted to tell you!"
"What baby?"
"The twins pushed me and pulled my hair!"
"Jashua and Joseph! Why did you do that?"
"We didn't, mommy! Hers is lyin!" Joshua defends himself.
"We be good boys today!" Joseph says.
"Bella Boo, are you telling stories, missy?"
"Okay, okay, I lied!" Arabella lifts her hands.
"And why did you do that?"
"Cause I no like being the only one in trouble!" Arabella crosses her arms and pouts.
"Heh! You little stink butt!"
"My booty's clean, mommy! You got the wrong girl!" Arabella lifts her hand and gives her mother attitude making her laugh.
"I can't with this little girls sassy personality!"
**
"Okay bed time, bed time!" Jessica hums.
"NOO!" Joshua runs from Jessica.
"Joshua no sir! You either get to bed or I'll give you a pow pow!"
"I already going to bed, mommy!" Joseph smiles as he walk to bed with a warm bottle.
"Good boy! Thank you so much, baby."
"I wanna stay up and watch tv with daddy!" Joshua says.
"Daddy's going to bed too, now come on."
"Ugh! I never get to have any fun!"
"Oh isn't being three years old just so hard!"
"Yeah cause you're a meany!"
"Joshua Daniel!"
"Just leave me alone, mommy! I can go to my room by myself!"
Jessica turns to Danny and he nods his head.
"Remember when those two were cute little babies? Now we have little monsters!"
"Those two have always been little monsters, Jess." Danny laughs.
"Yeah I guess.. Coltan, are you ready for bed?"
"Can I stay with daddy just five more minutes? Please!"
"If your daddy says it's okay, then yes."
"That's fine, buddy. I need to talk to you anyway."
"Alright, well I'll be back down in a minute."
"Okay, Jessie! I love you!"
"I love you too, sweetie!" Jessica giggles.
Coltan smiles then says, "What do you wanna talk to me about, daddy?"
"I just.. *Sighs* Coltan, I know you don't like school but-"
"I HATE school!"
"Hate isn't a very nice word."
"Well school isn't a very nice place!"
Danny chuckles and continues.
"I just want you to know that school isn't a bad place. It isn't an unsafe place. It's very nice and very safe!"
"But I'm so scared when you and Jessie aren't with me. I don't even like sleeping in my room because I'm alone and someone might try and kill me."
"Coltan, I promise you Jessie and I will always keep you safe."
"What if they kill you both first?"
"Cole, don't think that way, buddy."
"I can't get it out of my head!" Coltan shouts as he starts crying.
Danny rubs his back and tries comforting him.
"It's okay..
You're okay, Cole... I'm gonna find someone you can talk to, okay? They will put your mind at ease."
"What's that mean?"
"They'll make you feel good and you won't have those bad thoughts anymore."
"Jessie does that, daddy."
"I know but you need to talk to someone else too."
"Why? Where's she going?!" Coltan begins to panic.
"Is she moving back to her house?!"
"No! No, she's not leaving. I just want you to talk to someone besides, Jessica."
"Jessie!" Coltan corrects his father.
"Jessie." Danny chuckles.
Eventually Coltan drifted off to sleep on Danny.
When Jessica came back down she smiled at the sight and sat beside Danny.
"He's exhausted, isn't he?"
"Yep."
Jessica places her hand softly on his back trying not to wake him.
The feeling made him wake up anyway. He turned to Jessica with sleepy eyes and smiled softly.
"You ready for bed now?" She chuckles.
Coltan nods and climbs over so he is now laying on Jessica and resting his head on her shoulder.
Jessica rubs his back as she hears Coltan speak in a low voice.
"I love you, mommy."
Jessica looks at Danny and takes a short pause.
"... I love you too, baby." She says softly as she gently rocks him.

Okay so no it's not realistic. There's no way in hell I'd be doing what Jessica is doing, but it's NOT REAL! 🤗💖
