Chapter 6
Early this morning Erwin came by and dropped some things off that were necessary. School supplies mostly, along with clothes, and something called an "allowance". But all it was, was a one hundred dollar bill. I've honestly never touched money before and I could only find a single word to describe it. Filthy. It was covered in countless germs by who knows how many people.
Erwin also talked to me about a few things. He gave me a credit card looking thing that was completely white aside from the black barcode on the back and the school's insignia on the front. "For the cafeteria, you go in get a meal and swipe this before you eat."
He spoke to me about the three strike rule that applies to everyone in the school: students, teachers, and even myself. Basically if I got into big trouble three times I would be expelled. And due to me being educated here for free, if my grades dropped to anything below a 75% for any classes lasting longer than a two week period, I would be kicked out.
So now, with the miniature lecture finished, I was on my way to the college's main school building.
Ever since I met him I could tell there's something I can't quite place. A reason, if you will, as to why I should run as far away from him as possible. Don't ask me what it is because even I can't tell, and honestly that's mostly why I'm bearing this.
Levi walked beside me showing me small things about the university's yard and buildings. "The large rock over there is a usual hang out for stoners and such." Then he'd point to it, wait a few seconds, and move on. Some of these actually had a little meaning, or warning. "Stay clear of the football field after classes, lots of jocks hang around there. Trust me their roudy, dirty, hormonal brutes who can't control themselves. And no one's safe considering half are bi or pan." I hummed along seeming cool and unfazed on the outside.
'What's bi or pan?'
Sexual orientation, I think.
'But what kind.'
Bi is short for bisexual, they like both girls and boys. Pan is short for pansexual where you don't identify gender or just don't care.
I'm so thankful for Armin.
"Yo Levi!" A loud voice called. Both of our heads turned to look behind us where a group of five or so guys were jogging to catch up to us. They were a little less muscled than Levi but still qualified as what kids my age would classify as "hot".
Levi looked very annoyed that they came his eyes were darker than usual. "What do you want." He groaned continuing to walk not even caring if they replied back. Silently I stayed by his side my books loosely held against my chest. "Wait don't leave! Practice times changed! Levi please!" They kept calling trying to get the very exasperated raven to stop. And finally he did.
In the middle of the path outside, the school doors were a couple yards or so away. "Eren go inside, I'll be right there." I didn't I stood in the same exact place, he just turned around to face the blonde that had been yelling at him. "What!" He snapped his arms crossed. He was not happy. "Practice is at lunch today." The blonde mumbled looking like that of a pouting toddler. "I knew that's not all you came to say. Fess up." A small blush spread across his cheeks. "Well, it's just. He's cute and who is he?" Levis posture did not look the least bit pleased at that. "His name is Eren and he is out of your league. So back off Reiner, don't even try it. You can tell everyone else who followed you the same exact thing." When he finished his sassing he swiveled on his heel and walked towards the doors.
How did they not notice I was less than five feet away?
Levi showed me to my classes, which ironically we had together. Well a few. Some such as my art, creative writing, and just a reading class were not the same as his extra curricular activities. The ones we did have in common were the core stuff like advanced algebra, history, and science. It's weird, he was two years older than I yet we were in the same classes. Odd but I didn't question it too much.
Currently it was midday. The classes were boring and only went over stuff I already knew, at least the teachers didn't make a fuss over me. They simply said hello, briefly went over the rules then sat me next to Levi. Who stood next to me the entire time.
We strolled out of the classroom, I had yet to meet anyone that Levi interacts with besides the blonde who I assume is named Reiner. The beings here all appeared human. Well some did have a tail hanging out, small wings showing, a faint glow, sharp teeth, or their nails looking similar to claws. Then there were stray ears and horns. I guess it's common courtesy to keep your traits under tight security while you're in public or school. But then again, a portion didn't even have traits. Spirits and such.
I wasn't actually surprised to find that Levi was fairly popular amongst mostly females with an occasion male. You could tell just by how when he would walk throughout the hallways groups would giggle and blush then of course there where the few that would call out to him, he never payed any attention to them.
But this feeling I had was annoying me to no end. Something in me told me to stay as far away as possible, but then something else told mr to stay as close as possible. Like being lost :/ the dark and shown two doors. One has a growing beast the other had a scream echoing inside. Neither could ever be good.
"Oi." I looked up to see Levi staring back at be. "Pay attention you almost ran into three different people." Quickly I looked back but everyone was already doing their own thing and rushing to their separate rooms. "Sorry." I mumbled as he started walking again. "I'm not the one you need to apologize to, but seeing as they are gone already you're in the clear."
We had walked rather slowly compared to everyone else in the proximity, I was honestly a little confused as to why. Well that is until we came upon the cafeteria. Then it sort of made sense.
"Okay so here's the thing," Levi said not looking at me, without any reply he carried on. "I have practice during this time so if you want to stay with me you'll have to eat in five minutes." Still I didn't reply instead using the time to evaluate my options.
I didn't get enough time and was still caught between being alone or with Levi.
My thoughts were cut off by the raven handing me a plastic trey. He took a gracious amount of food. Three chicken legs, two oranges, a muffin, a sandwich, two cartons of milk, cookie, and a few pieces of buttered bread. I went with a muffin, orange, and water.
He eyed me suspiciously, looking at my food and back to me. "Is that enough?" "Yes."
Let's just say I wasn't sure if I should be impressed, scared, or disgusted that he could eat all of that food in less than five minutes. But nevertheless we were off to his "practice" which I was quite curious about.
I mean he's obviously in football but whatever they do in "football" I have no clue.
