Chapter 4
It's been about a week Catherine and Liv are mostly comfortable around us and they even went to church with us on Wednesday night, but I have to get my youth pastor to agree on letting Liv stay upstairs with us because she is to scared of the kids her age. I've also been trying to convince her to go to school and it would be good for her to have friends. I've been sleeping in my room well on my room floor because my mom doesn't like me sleeping on the couch, mostly because she wants to sit on it when she gets up.
" so what are we going to do about your sister? She can't stay home all the time my mom has to work." I say to Catherine at lunch. Catherine shrugs. I've been working on helping Catherine not be as shy and the only way I can think of doing that is me stick by her side when I can.
"I don't know but we're going to have to do something." She says finishing the apple I gave her. I nod a little.

School went by fast and we got home in no time. When we walk into the living room we see my mom sitting on the couch with Liv on her lap as she reads a children's bible to her. I look at Catherine and she has a small smile. We both head up to my room not wanting to ruin the moment.
"So do you have a bible?" I ask. She shakes her head.
"I don't really believe in it anymore, ever since grandma die I've seen no reason to believe and after that all was brought to me was pain, as for Liv she doesn't know much mostly because she was never out of the house unless we went to my grandma's house." She shakes her head as she tells me these things.
"Why don't you believe?" I ask and she looks up at me.
"Because he took everything I loved away from me and all I have is my sister to give me a reason to live." A few tears slip from her eyes. "I've been bullied all my life and I always prayed everyday it wouldn't happen but it always happened and being abused at home didn't help at all." Her sadness turns into anger.
"I didn't know but..." She cut me off.
"No! I just (she takes a deep breath). I'm just gonna take a walk." She finally says calmly and she walks out of the room. I shake my head as I hear the front door close, she's got it bd she is definitely broken. I just need to help her and the only way I can do right now is pray.
