Chapter 2

{Star's POV}

I didn't realize how crowded the janitors closet until now. We were both surrounded by mops, brooms, and glass cleaner. It was cramped to the point that our noses were an inch apart. It was really awkward but I really couldn't go anywhere as Marco was on the side with the door. "Do you really want to know why, Star, I'm not greeted like you are?" he said to me. It sounded like he was sad about it though, and I think he might feel better if the talks to someone about it. "Yes, I'm pretty sure that's why were in here," I responded, sounding as nicely and supportive as I could. "I don't have many friends, Star," he replied softly. He started counting on his fingers. "I only have like three; you, Ferguson, and Alfonzo." He sat down on an overturned bucket. I didn't know what to do some put my hand on his shoulder. "What about Jackie?" I asked him. "I like her but she wouldn't notice someone as lame as I am." he murmured.
"Marco Diaz, you are NOT lame. You are the coolest guy I know, my best friend, and you fight monsters of crying out loud!"
"I guess your right."
"Do you want to go to class, or do you want me to tell Ms. Skullnick that your sick?"
"Tell her I'm sick."
"Okay, I will bring you some food at breaks and stuff okay?"
"Okay."
I didn't know what to so after that. "I have to get to class."
"M'kay bye, Star."
And then I leave the janitors closet, wondering if Marco will be okay.
