Chapter 8
I woke with a start and saw the stone wall that surrounded me. Groaning at the pain in my bones as I slept on a rotten piece of wood. My hands and legs where free thankfully so I could get up and stretch. However there was a collar that was laced with wolfsbane in it so I could not shift, my head was also pounding and I was surprised there was a bandage around me head.
There was a whimper from behind me and I looked across the dimly lit hallway and saw Jinx to my horror.
"Jinx! What happened!?" I almost yelled, getting her attention. Running up and grabbing the bars.
"I l-lost my m-mate. Blake k-killed him and threw m-me down h-here." She cried. I felt my eyes swirl black as my wolf tried to take over but only ended up hurting herself, I howled in pain.
"I'll kill him, I promise." I growled in a deadly tone. She looked at the floor tears streaming from her eyes.
"N-not if he is caries out his p-plan." My eyes widen at her words.
"What are his plans?" I ask, trying to keep my anger down.
"He is going to try to force you to join his pack. Then Raven won't was to attack in fear of hurting you." She admits. Her words make me laugh.
"I don't think that would stop her. She killed her own father and almost killed my years ago. So weather I'm here or not wont matter." I chuckle at Blake's thought process. Though Jinx looks more than surprised at my words.
"So it is true that she killed her own father. As for you, why and how?" She asked, I was a little surprised at her question but shrugged it off.
"Well, did she ever tell you about the Lunar Howlers Pack?" I questioned, she nodded.
"Well at the time I was living in that pack and she killed my older brother and almost killed me. I still have the scar." I tell her, removing the hair from around my neck.
"So you mean that even if you are here it won't matter?" She asks, horrified, I nodded.
"She will do whatever it takes to keep her pack safe it does not matter if I'm in Blake's, she will kill just the same." I explained again. Finally she nodded and I saw pain come over her face again as she flinched.
"Maybe then I can join Jackson again." She whimpered. I reached a hand out and patted her shoulder, as the hallway was very small, I could reach over to her.
"Hey! Stop!" A voice called, I growled when I saw guards walking our way, quickly pulling my arm back in and retreating into the darkness of the cell.
Growling as they reached my cage and started to unlock it.
"If you come in, I'll kill you." I threatened. They laughed and I saw one flash a gun out of a pocket.
"I wouldn't recommend it." He stated, making me growl again. The wolfsbane forced my wolf to stay quiet but I could feel as her blood boiled.
They chained my hands behind me and hooked another chain onto the collar before pulling me out and past Jinx who had started crying again. I gave her a sympathetic look before I was forced to pass her cell and up the stairs.
After what feels like forever we finally make it to the pack house where I am led up stairs and into what looks to be an office. After which I'm tied to a chair and left to wait... Again!
"Hello Miss White how are you today?" I hear a cold voice say from behind me. I growl and spin around, locking eyes with Blake.
"Now, don't be like that. After all don't you remember how you felt before you left? Don't you remember telling me to take care of this pack like you knew I would?" He says quoting me from several months ago, making my stomach turn.
"Yes I do, the was before I realized how much of a bastard you are." I spat back, making Blake's smirk fade, he cleared his throat and an evil smile took place.
"Well, if you'll remember correctly, your mate had a machine that could wipe your mind. Well, I have something similar to it. It will take feeling from your past and imprint them now, regardless of how you feel." He smirked at the horror written in my eyes and on my face.
"You wouldn't!" I about yelled.
"Oh I would. But there is a twist here, they can only be imprinted for an hour and the full moon isn't for another two days, and it only works once, so if we can keep you here then we will use it an hour before we can welcome you to our pack." He growls and walks out of the room, leaving me to absorb the news, I could only hope that I could get out of here before then.
Once the guards finally came and unhooked my bindings and brought me back down to the cells where to my horror I found Jinx dead.
I wanted to fall to the floor and cry. Even though I hardly knew Jinx I knew enough to tell she was different from Blake, she was kind, understanding and had a soft spot.
The wolves that held me mind-linked someone and escorted me farther and down more stairs where the door was opened to a slightly larger and nicer looking cell, there was an actual bed and sink along with a rug and a wall that probably had a bathroom behind it, but it was still made out of stone and there where still large silver bars blocking me from the outside world.
The guards pushed me inside and undid the chains around my wrists and unhooked the chain from the collar.
Once they had walked out I started pacing in the cell, my wolf growling in my head. Causing the stone cell to become an amphitheater.
Raven! You there? I called out in my mind and with luck she was still close by.
Shade! What happened? What's going on? Her voice echoed through my head.
I'm locked up in a cell under Blake's house. Don't come looking for me. But here is their plan. With the bomb dismantled they think that if I'm here then you won't attack, for fear of killing me. I paused to let her gather her feeling as I could tell she wanted to rip heads off.
In two days time there is going to be a full moon, they have something that will re imprint feelings from a memory, but it only works for and hour. Then during that time they will try to make me join the pack. If it succeeds don't change your plans. Kill me just the same. I could hear her growl on the other side of the link.
Shade- before she could finish I ended the link. A sigh of both relief and sadness worked is way out of my throat.
I walked over to the bed and plopped down, rolling over I closed my eyes, trying to rid the memories of the day.
