Byron's POV:

When we left Alli's old home, Mom started to head toward a tall mountain. A few minutes later Mom stopped and said, "Alli I know you're there, you can come out now," and I was surprised. When I turned around and saw Alli -and the ghost like version of her- come out of the shadows, I jumped...realizing she was in combat form. She cocked her head and said to Mom, "How did you know I was there, are you a goddess too?" I looked at her and said, "No she isn't, don't you remember me telling you that Alli?". She ponders that for a second, then points her blade at me and says, "Don't try to twist my mind, mortal," and spats mortal out of her mouth like its venom. After she said that, my mom stepped in between us and said "Alli what are you doing, you know your not supposed to harm a mortal unless they have threatened you!" Both Alli and I have a confused look on our face, then Alli shakes her head and says " Who taught you about the Code? And I wasn't going to kill him, only show him a minor fear." Behind me I hear a deep voice that said, "I did."
