Chapter 8
I ran back to class, and then it looked like everyone was planning and working on their projects already. I went to Ash who was standing in the corner.
"Hey Ash," I waved.
"Hello, so what's our plan?"
"My house isn't open, I have... company," I lied.
"It's fine, Calem and my parents only come home like five times a year, so it's usually just us at the house anyways."
"So you guys have a pretty strong bond?"
"Yeah, or not. We usually just stay in our separate rooms and never come out, and our house is like five stories tall," Ash explained. "I don't know why I'm telling you all of this, but I guess that's how it's gonna work from now on huh?"
"Guess so," I smiled. "So, is your house that house?" I pointed to the five story house.
"The one that's across from that red brick one that has a white roof? Yeah."
"Hey, that's my house!" I called. "We're neighbors!"
"You must be rich to be able to get that house, it's 3 stories."
"Yours is 5!"
"Yeah yeah, whatever," Ash laughed, and since he was laughing I was laughing. We kind of just chit chatted through all of those 35 minutes of class left.
"See you after school at 3:30?" I asked.
The club was at 5, so we'd have an hour and 10 minutes to work. (Since we have to walk that'll add another 20 minutes probably, better to be early than late.)
"Sounds cool," Ash nodded, and then the bell rang, and he dashed out of the room.
I ran over to Ash's house and knocked on the door, and he opened the door.
"Now I already told Calem not to leave his room, but if he does, don't blame me," Ash said strictly. "Go to the third room I'll meet you there soon."
"What changed your attitude all the sudden?" I asked.
"None of your business." Ash said, as he went into the room next to the.. elevator?? Dang he's rich, he could buy all of the Pokémon cards he wanted to.
I then saw the buttons, and then I looked at floor 5, "Strictly Forbidden."
Huh, wonder what that's for? It's none of my business, I'll just go to floor 3 like Ash told me to.
I then clicked the button, and then Pokémon music went on, "I stand tall cause I know I'm a winner..." I then heard the elevator ding to say that I was on the right floor. I then went out as quickly as possible because it seemed like that piece of programmed metal would break at any minute.
"I'm here." Ash said, as he appeared right behind me.
"How did you do that?" I jumped.
"None of your business."
"Sure whatever, where's your computer lab?" I asked.
"Are you blind? Look in front of you, idiot."
"Why are you being so mean all the sudden? You're not the Ash I was playing with in Oak's lecture room."
"It's the Ash out of that torture room." Ash said, as he went over to a black colored computer. "Mom and I regularly chat on Skype, but Dad never talks to me, he never comes back actually, I don't even remember him."
"Don't remember him? Why did he leave you when you were like two or something?" I asked as a joke.
"I'll be honest with one thing to you, he actually did." Ash admitted, while he pulled up a google doc. "So we need to make a plan. There were the two battles already, and everyone was surprised with the newbie winning so we can put that annoying fact in..."
"Why are you being so MEAN and NASTY right now??? Are you just upset that I'm your partner? Wait no, I already know that. Are you pushing me away? Are you mad that I beat your brother? I'm done with all of this nonsense bickering you're doing! Just tell me what I'm doing wrong!"
"You - aren't doing anything wrong," Ash explained. "You're just slacking sense into me that I never really noticed in my life."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"That you could beat my brother, that girls can actually be strong in Pokémon battling, that I'm not a super strong dude in some people's minds, that I can... no I'm not gonna say that one."
"Wait, you didn't know that before?" I asked.
"No, honestly. Once you came around I kind of changed, and Calem had a fight with me yesterday about how I was mean around you, I don't know."
"Speaking of which, I have your phone number, Calem gave me it, do you want me to keep it or?"
"You can keep it if you give me yours," Ash said. "Keep us up to date with the project, don't want to forget something."
"Yeah it's all about the project," I chuckled, as I gave him my phone number. "I'll keep you up to date with the Pokémon schedule too."
"Alright," Ash giggled. "We gotta get going to the third game."
"Yeah, let's go!" I cheered, and ran to the elevator.
"Wait for me!" Ash yelled, as he got in the elevator.
We then went down with the music:
"I stand tall cause I know I'm a winner
Knock me down I'll just get up again
You've met your match yeah I'm no beginner
Pokèmon
Pokèmon
Gotta catch em all!
I stand tall cause I know I'm a winner
Pokèmon
Pokèmon
Gotta catch em all!"
