KALPI MEETS RAGHAV

Kalpi smiled at the girl who introduced herself as Renuka who seem to have taken a liking for Kalpi"you don't seem to be from here." spoke Renuka. admiring Kalpi's beautiful eyes......you seem to have a far away look......" continued Renuka...............Kalpi became lost for words.she stood silently trying to figure out what to say to Renuka...........Soham arrived behind Renuka and saved Kalpi'She is my distant cousin from Amritsar.........lied Soham"..she is here from her college break........'and you must also meet her friend Charmaine............."..a sweet girl. so bubbly and cute.."continued Soham ,Charmaine who was close by heard these words blushed and her cheeks turned crimson as Kalpi began to laugh...and quickly grabbed Charmaine by the wrist and introduced her to Renuka..who was delighted to meet new friends.the three girls were later joined by Renuka's college mates.......they all got along well at the party and a few even danced to catchy Bangra tunes and were having a marvelous time and from time to time Kalpi caught Soham looking at her.what went through his mind she could not fathom.Kalpi just enjoyed herself watching the merry makers .Charmaine just followed the girls dancing ................Kalpi slipped away from the crowd and slowly crept out of the farm house..the night was bathed in moonlight as she set out to the well kept lawn.... a gentle breeze ruffled her hair ,the fragrance of jasmine filled the night air....she sat at the edge of the farm well and looked up the star filled sky and as she watched she saw a falling star..".If you wish upon a falling star...'" Kalpi sang and made a wish............ to meet the man destined for her.who was he?,what was he like?.was he tall dark and handsome as the way heroes were depicted in fairy tales or will he be like an ogre with a good heart.all this thoughts occupied her wild heart ,she just sat there in the moonlit night oblivious of the hectic world ,she was at peace.....just gazing at the sky.....stars twinkling...............the gentle breeze turned windy all of a sudden..and her dupatta just flew away from her shoulder..Kalpi ran after it .....trying so hard to catch but to no avail..the dupatta flew further and landed on a moving vehicle and obstructed the view of the lorrry driver...causing the lorry to swerve to the side of the back lane and turn on its side splling vegetable on the road and on kalpi who had managed to catch hold of her dupatta at the very moment the lorry crashed on the side'Kalpi felt another thud and a whole basketfull of flowers and cabbage fell on her ..and a a jar on tomato sauce spilled on her face and a man fell on her........head resting on her heaving chest.Kalpi struggled but the sauce on her and him made it more slippery and they both could not get up......Raghav saw the pale yellow Dupatta again a second time..the glass bangles rattled against a fair wrist........ the wisp of yellow material he has seen earlier was there again in front of his eyes,and he got a wiff of soft perfume in the girl 's hair........they both tried to get up but kept slipping...." I I err am sorry ''Kalpi tried to speak'' but she only managed a croak.......her fingers reached her eyes and wiped the sauce off her eyes trying to see ,,a pair of dark eyes was looking down at her......and he suddenly caught hold of her arm and shielded her from another falling basket......this time his cheek resting on hers..Kalpi gulped hard at this close proximity.......she had led a sheltered life .her body went limp as he slowly moved away from her..and after another attempt got off her and he gave her hand to kalpi and pulled her to her feet .,Kalpi was made to stand on her feet but kalpi's feet were wobbly and she began to sway only to be caught again by this man covered in tomato sauce.....Kalpi began to giggle nervously...at him.....she looked at herself ,she was also covered in tomato sauce....she laughed uncontrollably holding her sides.....her laughter filled the silence of the night..Ragahv was stunned at her behaviour then a glimmer of a smile appeared on his lips. then he too roared with laughter.....two people covered in tomato sauce....Kalpi could see his tall well built physique and for a few minutes was drawn to his eyes.....they were like two black diamonds......he watched her too.....her face was covered with sauce .................Kalpi felt a new sensation going through her body as they just stood there.............................'Oh my god" someone exclaimed''what has happened?........Soham ran up to the lorry lying on its side.............."are you allright......he asked. ..Charmaine rushed to Kalpi's side and caught her.......and led her away...Kalpi turned and looked back at the man still standing beside the lorry.Talking to Soham........as she watched the Stranger turned back and looked at her............she could not see his face clearly..............................TO BE CONTINUED
