Chapter 3: Warning
"Hello! Is anyone there!" Brine said, heaving after every word. Brine squatted his eyes to try and see where he was. "Am I, dreaming?" Brine then heard a faint whisper behind him, "It's good to see you again, grandson." Brine turned around to see his grandpa, Herome. "G-g-grandpa!" Herome nodded and hugged Brine. "I-I thought you..." Sadly, about 3 years ago, when Brine was 7, his grandpa died trying to defend the town from their enemy, The End. Herome sighed and said, "Brine, I came to warn you about something." Brine jolted back and gave Herome a confused face. "What do you mean grandpa?" "Has Briana and Rian told you about something, odd?" Brine shook his head. "Just, watch out for our family." "O...." Herome then slowly began to fade away slowly. "Grand..." Just then everything overcame in darkness.
"Brine sweetie, it's time to get ready for school." Shoot! I forgot school is today! "Okay, I'll be downstairs in 10 minutes." Briana nodded and left his room. What should I wear for school today? Brine thought, walking over to his closet. "Hmm.." Brine dug around in his clothes until he finally picked something out. He took out a yellow shirt, green pants, and his normal brown shoes. "Brine! Breakfast!" "Okay mom!" Brine rushed downstairs. "Hey mom! Hey dad!" Rian looked up from his newspaper and smiled. "Happy to see you're awake. And sorry that I forgot to remind you that school was today." "That's okay." Briana placed down a plate and pointed at the chair. "Sit down and eat breakfast." Brine sat down and ate his cookie. "Brine! You have to eat your rabbit soup first." Rian laughed and grabbed Briana's hand. "Let him be Briana." Briana nodded and got up. "I have to get ready for work." Briana left the kitchen. "So son, what are you going to do today?" Brine looked up and answered, "Listen and pay attention." Rian shook his head. "And?" Brine sighed. "Stay away from Steve and.........Alex." Rian looked up at Brine with a curious look. "Do you have feelings for this Alex?" Brine blushed and looked down at the floor. "Maybe...." Rian patted Brine on the elbow. "Sorry son, but you know what your mother said." Brine nodded. "I need to get going soon." "Want me to walk you to school?" Brine shook his head and gulped down his last spoon of soup. "Bye dad!" His dad waved and continued reading the news. Brine grabbed his blue backpack and searched for what he needed. "Okay, I need my ink and feather, books, and...." Brine then ran upstairs to get his Alex figure. "In case I get lonely." He rushed back downstairs and ran out the door.
When he was half way to school he got stopped by a familiar voice. "Hey Brine!" Brine looked around to see Steve running up to him waving. What do I do? Brine looked away and kept walking. "Brine wait for us!" He turned around again to see both Steve and Alex! Brine stopped and looked down. "What's wrong man?" Brine looked up and saw Steve with a worried look on his face. "I...." Alex came up beside Brine. "You what?" A tear came down Brine's face as he thought about what his mother said. Alex and Steve exchanged glances at each other and then looked at Brine. "Why are you crying?" "B-b-because..." Brine collapsed to his knees and cried even more. Steve hugged Brine, then Alex joined. "Come on dude. What's....." Steve was then interrupted when the two bullies came up behind him. "Awwww, white-eye is crying." Alex turned around with a mad look on her face. "I thought I told you two to leave us alone!" The two boys just stood there with straight faces. They then both took out enchanted diamond swords. "Yeah, how do you like that?" Alex stepped back and poked Steve. "Can't you guys just leave him alone. He's suffered enough already." The two just laughed. "Pft, as if." Brine then began to heave quietly. "Brine, you okay?" Brine looked up and stared at the two bullies. "Why don't you two just leave me alone!" The two kids jolted back at the response Brine just said. "Wow! Brine is standing up for himself!" Brine stood up. "Yeah, lets go Brine." Steve grabbed Brine by the hand, but Brine just stood where he was. "Brine? Are you okay?" Brine turned around. "Go ahead guys. I'm just going to, talk, with these two." "B-brine?" Alex said, with a worried tone. Steve nodded and grabbed Alex. "Let's go Alex." Steve and Alex left, leaving Brine and the two boys. "What ya going to do?" "I'm gonna talk." The two boys exchanged glances and smirked. "Why do you guys bully me? It's not going to do anything to your lives." One of the boys looked guilty, while the other was just getting angry. "It make us feel happy. Am I right Uro?" The boy looked over at Uro. "Uro?!" The kid looked up and shook his head. "I don't......want....to hurt anyone." Uro walked over beside Brine. "I would rather stay with this guy then hang out with you!" Is this guy serious!? The other kid just looked at Uro for a minute and stormed off. "So, will you accept me?" Brine smiled. "Sure." Uro smiled. Kill him for what he has done..... "Huh?" Brine looked around. Who said that? "Yo Brine, you okay?" Just then Brine lost control of his own body by something. "Hahaha...." Uro stepped back. "Brine, that's creepy." Brine stepped forward and looked up. Both of his eyes were white! "Brine!?" "Who said I would ever want to be your friend?" Uro looked both shocked and scared at Brine. Brine then, somehow, got a dark red sword. "W-where d-did you.....get that?!" "From a new friend of mine!" Brine then slashed the sword, hitting Uro right in the chest. Uro coughed and collapsed on the ground, bleeding. Brine then began to get dizzy, and eventually collapse.
"H-huh?" Brine got up to see blood on his hands. He then looked next to him to see a dark red sword. "What the heck?" Brine then looked to his right and saw a kid on the floor dead. "U-u-u-Uro?!" Brine rushed over to his side. "Are you okay?" Uro coughed and looked up. "Wh-why did you........" Uro then heaved and then laid down. Isn't it nice to see a dead soul right in front of you? "Who are you?! And who said that?" Don't worry young Brine.....we'll meet very soon. Just like that, the voice was gone. Brine then heaved scared and yelled. "Someone! Help!" Just then three guards came up to Brine. "What is it....." The first guard then looked at the body. "Kid, what happened?" the second guard said, bending down next to Brine. "I-I don't know sir." The guard nodded and stood up. "Me and Garit will take the body to the medic. You can deal with this one and take the sword." The first guard nodded and grabbed the strange sword. "Come on kid." Brine nodded and followed the guard. Brine looked behind him to see the two other guards investigating the body. Did I do that?
Brine waited in a room inside the guard tower. "What's your name? And, where are we?" The guard looked at Brine and grinned. "I'm Kako. And right now you're in the waiting room. We sent an endermessage to get your parents." Brine nodded and sat down.
You now may be wondering, "What's an endermessage?" An endermessage is pretty much a message sent through a strange chest called an enderchest. Now back to the story.
After a few minutes his mom bursted through the door. "Brine!" his mom screamed while running to him. "Mom!" Brine got up from his chair and hugged his mom. "What happened sir?" Kako looked at my mom and sighed. "We found your son here yelling for help. When we came over, he was sitting next to a dead body and a strange sword." My mom looked down and sighed. "Thank you for telling me. Brine, lets go home." "Wait! What about school?!" Brine's mom looked down at Brine and sighed. "You're going to go to school tomorrow." Briana picked up Brine and walked home.
"Mom, what do I do now?" Briana went to the kitchen, still carrying Brine. She put him down in a chair and sat in one herself. "I want you to tell me what happened." Brine sighed and nodded. "Okay. Where do I start?" "When you started walking to school." Brine then told her what happened, about the bullies, Steve, Alex, the voice and the kid. "Then everything was red. The next thing I know, I wake up and see Uro....... dead. And then I hear a voice in my head say, "Isn't it nice to see a dead soul right in front of you?" Briana had a worried look on her face. "Mom, I had a dream, about Grandpa Herome." Briana looked up and had a shocked look on her face. Brine started talking before she said anything. "When I was in the dream, grandpa told me that bad things will happen soon. And he said you and daddy know what's going to happen." Briana sighed and got up. "Wait here." Briana left the room and went upstairs. Maybe I should follow her. Brine quietly followed his mother to the small library. When she was in the library, Brine saw her pull a book and then a door opened. She walked inside. Brine followed her down a long hallway that eventually led to a room. In the middle of the room was a little white pillar that had something in a case on top. "Why did this day already come? Why my son?" What is she talking about? She lifted up the cover of the case and took out a strange necklace. "May as well explain to him....." She began to get closer to Brine. What do I do?! Brine then saw a pillar and stood behind it. His mother passed by without seeing him. "Phew, that was close." Brine looked at the case and walked up to it. Hello again..... Brine looked around. "You again?" Hahahahah......yes Brine, it's me. "Who's 'me'?" Don't worry Brine. Your mother will explain all...... "Brine! Where are you?!" Shoot! Brine snuck and ran into his room and then sat on his bed. "I'm in my room mom!" Briana walked into his room and sighed. "I told you to stay downstairs." Brine looked down, pretending to be sorry. "Sorry mom." Briana chuckled and sat next to him. "What are you holding behind your back?" Briana sighed and showed the necklace to Brine. It was black with a dark red dot in the middle. "What's that?" A long moment of silence passed until his mother said something that shocked him very much. "It's the curse of Hero."
