Chapter 16: A Full Introduction in a Round

I arrived early, assessing the location and listening to the thoughts of those inside the building. I watched the building carefully, watching the energy around it move with the energies of those inside. The building contained the energy, to some degree, yet the energy would escape sometimes in short bursting, cord-like waves, then dissipate. 'Ah. Someone seems excited tonight.' I thought to myself.

Earlier I had contacted Dana to see what he could see of the paths. I had not seen anything to be concerned about when I had looked myself, yet his thought to me further reassured me, 'It is safe enough.' He had spoken into my mind, 'The path looks clear.' So, stepping forward after my evaluation, sometime later, I moved to the door and rang the bell.

My hair was loose over my ears, hiding them from the security camera's gaze. I wore a casual loose linen blouse in a soft, almost white, lavender shade and a silk and cotton blend skirt in a deep purple that flowed down gracefully to my ankles. The skirt was so dark that it almost looked black in some lights. I wore sandals on my bare feet and few accessories, with a thin summer coat over my blouse. A simple uncut amethyst hanging on a leather chain, around my neck and wrapped in cured silver, so that it would not burn my skin, was my only jewelry. The stone sat just above the cut of the collar of my blouse, which showed the expanse of my upper chest, but did not expose my skin below the midpoint of my sternum.

I held up a bottle of red wine to where I knew the camera to be and smiled as with my other hand, I removed my sunglasses. Shortly, after I heard a commotion inside, followed by a faint argument, laughter and a suddenly opening door. The scent of Korean food hit my nostrils, and I blinked slowly, lowering my eyelids, then raised my head and half looked through my eyelashes at the man before me. I recognized him as Kim Seokjin, the man with the windshield wiper laugh and amusing disposition. I held up the bottle of wine again, as if to pass it to him, and he reached out to take it from me on impulse.

Seokjin appraised me for several seconds, appearing to forget to invite me in, with a slightly startled look on his face. Then, as he brought the bottle close to his chest, he began to open the door further, as his face broke out into a wide smile, "You must be Felina." He declared. He turned to call into the house, "Felina is here, guys!" Behind him Jimin and Taehyung, followed by Jungkook, approached, staring through the entry way at me. I smiled and in Korean fashion, gave them all a short, graceful bow, to which they belatedly returned. It appeared they were all maybe just a little stunned. I internally laughed as I sought out their thoughts to further assess my safety, finding only blanked, faint movements of the energy around them. They wore surprised expressions in varying degrees, while Seokjin looked to have mostly recovered from his own surprise.

I heard a loud thought from Taehyung, as he seemed to recover first of the other three, 'Wow.' His feelings of awe followed the internal statement, 'She is really pretty. Way more than Joonie and Jiminie said.' And I stifled a laugh, looking down at my shoes to hide my amusement. As my laughter was contained, I looked up again and watched the energy flare, with the typical energy I was used to from many human males, and then dissipate as the rest of them appeared to come out of their state of stupor. Seokjin opened the door all the way and stepped aside, so that I could enter.

As I came from the foyer, into the house, I looked around me from the hall into the living room. I could hear sounds in the kitchen and sensed Yoongi there. The other two of the group, not at the edge of the foyer with me, were somewhere in the back of the house, and another in the living room. One was Namjoon and the other I did not recognize, but assumed it was Hoseok, as I was familiar with the members of the band. I took off my coat and Jungkook took it from me, hanging it on a hook. I removed my shoes, gaining my bearings, as Taehyung, following along with Jungkook's previous movements, offered me a pair of guest house slippers, nudging them towards me.

With these rituals of welcoming a guest, I was given the time to gradually make myself fully aware of all the energies in the house, including with those of the men near me. The three younger men stood half in the foyer, half in the living room, and moved from their position into the living room, as Seokjin shut the front door. I smiled as they ushered me in, Jimin grabbing my sleeve as he lightly pulled at me to enter further into the house. Jungkook began to talk to me of the food they had cooked and Seokjin guided us all inside, walking behind us.

I entered the living room, watching the energy in the room, and around the men. I did not see Namjoon, but knowing he was in the house, it would be a matter of time before I would. Seokjin came up level with me, standing beside me as he engaged me in conversation in the lull between when the other three men spoke, "So you are the mystery woman the guys have been talking about for months." He stated, his comment not phrased as a question, but I could sense the question behind it, as well as his rotating thoughts about the day of the accident and how I had met the other half of his band.

I looked at him, questioning his statement, "Months?"

Immediately he laughed, his ears turning red and rejoined, "Well not months, but off and on, yeah. You have been a topic of conversation."

I smiled at the man with a soft laugh, "That's flattering." I retorted with a teasing gleam in my eyes then finished my statement, continuing to tease him, "You never gave me your name." I said as I looked at the rest of them, "Actually, none of you did." When all four of them looked at me with mild embarrassment, I laughed again, and assured them, "It is okay, though. I know who you are." They laughed with me, the laughter flowing over their previous embarrassment, soothing the moment, and began to talk over each other, introducing themselves again, even though I knew their names already. I was greatly amused, grinning at the men as I engaged them in conversation. The reverberation of both their energies and their thoughts danced inside my head and around me. I relaxed more and took the suggestion to move into the living room and sit on the couch.

Hoseok was sitting on the couch, listening to music, through ear buds placed firmly in his ears. He did not notice us in the room, as he listened intently to the music, his feet, arms and body twitching a small amount as if he was dancing to it inside his mind. Jungkook sat down with a heavy bounce next to him gaining his attention and then elbowed him slightly. Hoseok looked at his band mate, then up at me from his position on the couch, then Jungkook gestured in my direction. When he saw me, he took the ear buds out and stood up quickly. The expression on his face was both mildly stunned and a little embarrassed, but he recovered quickly and grinned at me with his bright, sunshine smile. I smiled back and gave him a short bow, which he returned.

"Hello." He told me. "I'm Hoseok."

I smiled back and again teasingly answered, "I know. It is good to meet you." I told him, then looked at all five men, "It is good to meet all of you." I said and bowed again. As I spoke, Namjoon walked into the room, and I looked over at him and smiled again.

He assessed me and then slowly smiled back, "Hey Louvre girl." He said to me, feigning a casual tone I knew that he did not feel, and I shook my head and laughed softly.

"Hello Joonie." I said, returning his greeting, my voice on the edge of sensual, low and with the echo of laughter in it. His face turned subtly pink, blushing at my greeting, as he caught my tone exactly as I had intended it. Despite his blushes, he did not look away, but continued to watch me from his position where he had stopped to greet me.

The air was electric in that moment as we regarded each other, the others peering at us as if watching a particularly interesting scene in a movie. The moment was broken by Seokjin as he cleared his throat suddenly and commented, "Yoongi is in the kitchen working on the food. I will send him out soon to say hello." He told me, "Make yourself comfortable." He suggested, to which the other men agreed as Seokjin left the room for the kitchen. I nodded and sat on one of the other sofas and was joined by Jimin and Taehyung who sat on either side of me. I looked over at Namjoon, who also sat, but on the arm of the couch.

Soon the men were asking me questions and chatting with me, with Namjoon mostly silent. I answered what I could and evaded other questions skillfully, having had much practice over the centuries with humans. I looked up at Namjoon who was listening to our conversation, observing me with his friends, then looked back at Taehyung who took out his phone to show me pictures of his animals, which I wholly appreciated. There was a gentle weight in Namjoon's gaze and even as I spoke with his friends, I could feel it heavy and warm against me.

I sat on the couch, attentive, as the men spoke, watching the energy in the room. The loud thoughts of the others were telling me everything I needed to know. I half avoided the weight of Namjoon's gaze, but listened to his thoughts, which were composed and focused. I looked at him again, then raised my brow a fraction of an inch, as if to say, 'I see what you are doing.' His face flushed and he looked down at his hands. I tilted my head and asked, "Why so quiet, Joonie?" The teasing light was back in my eyes.

He gazed back at me, answering me evasively, "Just watching the interactions." He told me.

I grinned retorting, "See anything that interests you?"

He blushed more as he continued to gaze back at me and though he was clearly feeling a little shy, he said, "Yes. I do." The other men laughed and ribbed each other.

I grinned back at him, "Then join in." I suggested. "I promise I won't bite." Then finished my statement, "At least not tonight." I said playfully, unable to resist myself.
