Arohi's pov

Mrs Patel was staring at me in shock, with a duster in her hand.

I didn't know what to do!

Oh God! This is so awkward!

"Uh! Good morning, Mrs Patel." I said and got down from the bed.

"Ahh." I winced loudly when my foot touched the floor.

"Oh my god! What happened to your foot?" Mrs Patel asked in horror.

Before I could respond, Kashinath stormed into the room and shot a ferocious look at me.

"Couldn't you just call me? I told you very clearly that you are not to step down on your own." Kashinath said and picked me up and placed me on the bed again.

Mrs Patel was looking back and forth between me and Kashinath. Her confusion was very evident in her face.

"Where is Mia? When did she wake up and leave the bed? I didn't realise." I asked, making it clear to Mrs Patel that even Mia was in the room with me.

"You were sleeping peacefully. So we didn't wake you up. Now that you are up, you might as well freshen up. We can leave after breakfast." Kashinath said.

He then turned to Mrs Patel.

"Mrs Patel, please serve our breakfast in the bedroom." Kashinath told the shocked housekeeper.

"What about Mia?" I asked, not wanting to dine alone with Kashinath.

"She already had her breakfast." Kashinath said.

Mrs Patel was still frozen.

"Oh darling! This is not how I planned our day today. I wanted to take you out to select the engagement ring. Then a lunch date. All spoiled. Now we will have to go on a hospital date." Kashinath said in a disappointed tone.

What the hell is he talking about?

Couldn't he see Mrs Patel standing just behind him.

"Engagement ring?" Mrs Patel asked, with her eyes wide. She didn't mean to say that out loud. It was evident from the regretful look on her face, as soon as the words got out of her mouth.

"Mrs Patel? Are you still here?" Kashinath asked, as though he was only noticing her presence now.

This man! What has gotten into his head?

"Uh I apologise, Mr Agnivanshi. I will bring your breakfast soon." Mrs Patel hurried out f the bedroom

"What was that?" I asked.

"We have to make our arrangement look legit. Now Mrs Patel has got an idea on our engagement. She will surely talk to Mr Teer about it. But I can trust that the news wouldn't spread further than the two of them. Because they are terribly loyal to my family." Kashinath said.

"You should have given me some signal. I was so awkward when she caught me in your bed." I said and coloured up as soon as the words got out of my mouth.

Me and my big mouth! Couldn't I just shut the hell up?

"Ah those images you just created." Kashinath said with a smirk.

"Shut up. I need to use the restroom." I said and tried to get down from the bed.

Before my foot touched the floor, I was in Kashinath's arms.

"You are the most stubborn and disobedient woman I have ever encountered." Kashinath hissed.

"Look who's talking." I said dryly, to which Kashinath only grinned.

He let me down in the restroom.

"Just call me when you are done," he said and I nodded.

"I need my toothbrush." I said.

"Just use the new ones in the cabinet." Kashinath said and walked out, closing the restroom door behind him.

I took a shower and wore a huge bathrobe, as I didn't have anything else to change into. The towel cloth was thick, so I thought it okay to wear.

I finished my morning business and by the time Kashinath helped me back to the bed, Mrs Patel had walked in with the breakfast.

I could feel Kashinath's eyes on me every now and then. His heated eyes on me made my heart run a marathon.

"Are you naked under my robe, Arohi?" Kashinath whispered huskily and I choked on the food I was having.

"Here, Here," Kashinath mumbled, as he gently patted my back.

Once the coughing stopped, his pat became more of a caress.

My entire body was on fire. All I could think of was to clear the table and pull him over me and let him have his way with me.

Oh dear heavens!

"You gotta stop doing that." I gasped out.

"Hell if I could," Kashinath muttered under his breath.

"There is no need to go to the doctor actually. The wound is just superficial. It will heal quickly." I said.

"Thank you for your expert opinion, Dr Sharma." Kashinath said sarcastically and I glared at him.

Insufferable brute!

"I can hear you cursing me in your mind," he said as my eyes widened in shock.

"How did you know?" I asked and he shot a cheeky grin at me.

"Your face is a mirror of your mind, Arohi. What you think here, is shown here," he said, first touching my head and then pointing to my face.

Great! That's all I needed!

For him to know every single thought running through my mind and brain.

Could my life get any more miserable?

"Are you done?" He asked.

"Yes,"

"You don't like tomatoes?" Kashinath asked, pointing at the tomato slices I had pulled out of my sandwich.

"Uh no." I said.

He casually took it from my plate and popped it into his mouth.

Okay! He is practising so that our acting would be perfect in front of other,

Don't take this seriously!

"Great. I will ask Mrs Patel to clear the table. I will take you to your bedroom so that you can get dressed." Kashinath said and gently picked me up from the bed and carried me out of his room.

His hands were touching against the sides of my breast and I could feel emotions surging deep down my belly!

Damn!

Please give me some control!!

Kashinath's pov

"Nath, long time man!" Saurav Mishra said, as soon as he spotted me sitting in the waiting area outside his cabin.

"Saurav. This is Arohi. She is injured. You gotta check her." I told him, pointing at Arohi who was sitting on the next chair.

Arohi shot a smile at Saurav, and I could see the male admiration in Saurav's eyes when he saw her.

Saurav Mishra is one of my oldest friends. Saurav, Alok and I went to the boarding school together.

Alok chose law, Saurav chose medicine and I opted for business.

"Hello Arohi." Saurav said with his charming smile.

"My fiance." I said, before he could get any ideas into his head.

Haa!! No way he is going to charm her right under my nose!

Saurav looked at me in shock.

"Fiance?" Saurav asked, staring at me as though I told him I am a vampire.

"Yes. Fiance. She stepped on glass shreds last night. I did first aid. But I need to be sure that she is absolutely alright." I said and Saurav nodded, donning his doctor's face.

"Yes. Please bring her into the examination room." Saurav said and I picked her up in a bridal style, shocking both Arohi and Saurav.

"I will ask the nurse to get a wheelchair if she can't walk, Nath." Saurav said and called out loudly for a nurse.

"No need. I will bring her. Lead the way, Saurav." I said.

He nodded and walked towards the examination room.

I followed him and gently placed her on the examination bed.

"Why don't you wait outside? I will call you in once I check her over." Saurav said.

No way! No way in hell I am leaving her alone with him.

When it comes to women, Saurav is as bad as I am.

"No. I will stay here." I said stubbornly.

"Nath, this is the hospital protocol. Bystanders are not allowed inside the examination room. Please stay out." Saurav said, equally stubborn.

"Damn it, Saurav. I said I will stay." I told him angrily.

I shouldn't have brought her here. I should have taken her to some other hospital.

Saurav owns this multispeciality hospital and it is the best here.

"Kashinath, please wait outside." Arohi pleaded and I huffed in annoyance.

I shot a warning look at my old friend, he merely looked amused.

"Stay in your limits, Mishra." I warned him in a low voice.

"I wouldn't dare to step on your territory, Nath," he replied in another whisper..

"I will be outside. If anything, just call me, okay?" I told Arohi, who nodded her head in agreement.

Twenty minutes later, Saurav walked out, supporting Arohi.

What the bloody hell!

"Why didn't you call me?" I snapped at Saurav and scooped up Arohi in my arms.

Why the hell am I being so damn concerned about Arohi? I didn't have answers to any of my questions.

Saurav rolled his eyes and Arohi looked as red as a tomato.

"Let's go to my cabin." Saurav said, without answering my question and walked to his cabin, leaving me to follow him.

I placed her on a chair and sat on the other one.

"The wound is superficial. Luckily, it didn't cut deep. Just apply this antiseptic and antibiotics cream on the wound and leave it open. Don't dress it up. It will heal quickly. It will be better in a couple of days." Saurav said and prescribed the medicine.

"So? Engaged huh? What a miracle, Nath." Saurav said with a grin.

"Well, such things happen." I said with a casual shrug.

"What magic did you cast upon him, Arohi? I never thought I would ever see Nath settling down, ever." Saurav said.

"What can I say? I have that charm. One look at me and he was flat. He begged me to marry him and I took pity on him." Arohi said dramatically.

Saurav laughed out loud seeing Arohi's dramatics.

"Well, you see the dramatics, don't you Saurav? I thought I would marry her and that would save me the expenses of a cable connection. Why do we need television, when we could have live dramatics in front of us." I said dryly, earning a glare from Arohi.

"Excuses excuses," Arohi said with a dramatic roll of her eyes.

"You haven't announced your engagement yet?" Saurav asked.

"No. Will keep it private as long as we can. There is no guarantee when the paparazzi will catch up." I said.

I am getting better at this.

Saurav is a very close friend. Even he seems to believe my relationship with Arohi is genuine.

Good going Kashinath Agnivanshi!

"Ah yes! You are going to make the headlines, Arohi. The sorceress who tamed the playboy." Saurav said with a laugh.

"Too dramatic, Saurav." I said dryly.

"I am sure Arohi would enjoy the dramatics," Saurav said, with a wink at Arohi, who laughed in return.

Damn you Saurav!

Time to get the hell out of here.

"Anyways, we will take your leave." I said, as I stood up from the chair.

"Please bring her in for a review in a week. And yes, when you are free, let's catch up. Call Alok too. Where is he now?" Saurav asked.

"He is in Delhi. Will ask him when it is convenient for us to get together." I said and left the hospital with Arohi.

"The doctor is your friend?" Arohi asked, as I started the car.

"Yes. We went to the boarding school together." I said.

We remained silent for the rest of the ride. After a twenty minute drive, we reached the cottage.

I helped her to her bedroom and went looking for Mia.

Before I could find her, my phone rang and the caller ID showed an unknown number.

"Kashinath Agnivanshi." I spoke, as soon as I picked up the call.

"Agnivanshi, this is Veerendra Maitra," the man on the other side said coldly.

Damn!
