Secrets Revealed...Or More Tangled?

"You were a fool to trust those Kuruvansh! You paved the path for our family's destruction Dhriti! Everything that we once held dear is always destroyed by the Kuruvansh. And you chose them over your own family."

Druveda's accusations echoed in her mind, eliciting an anguish that felt like acid was flowing down her veins; the liquid blaze charred her soul. Chipping away steadily at her will to live.

She had screamed her heart out, killing the five men who had flooded her desolated life with joy...even the thought was mind shattering. Yes, they had betrayed her, but the thought of their death pushed her into the deep ocean of despair.

Her airways burned, her heart thrummed with suffering. No...they couldn't die. Her agony vapourized the dark, turbulent, massive ocean of sorrow, into malevolent clear salty liquid, that cascaded down her cheeks. Each drop carried too profound emotions; that wreaked havoc within her.

"You're still mourning them!" His words were too distant, a heavy blanket of hurt muffling the reality.

"Please don't kill them." Her words wavered, they were too fragile, vulnerable. The shackle of relationships weighed heavily on her heart, betrayal biting her core, she would have torn every last one of them to pieces had they been loyal to her.

But she was asking her brother, her own family to forgive the people who had given their father a life worse than death. . .

Guilt swarmed her, shame burned her soul, she hated herself, but she was helpless. She couldn't comprehend her attachment to them.

This instinctive need to protect them, it burned high and bright with each passing second. It didn't matter what burned in it but she wanted them safe.

"Jyest, please!" She sobbed, dread tearing at her heart, flaying it.

He scoffed, fury marring his features. A sick joy thrummed in veins. The Pandavas were the reason his five sisters had died, they had destroyed his family and happiness.

Eroded everything he lived for, and now the woman they loved with everything was nothing but a puppet in his hands.

They deserved it. Every last one of them.

Memories flooded his mind, a searing brand of misery smouldered him.

He lost Kusum's calming presence, Navya's pranking, Gayatri's constant worry and adoration, Leela's sweetness and Ira...

The bright shining smile of his youngest sibling. Ira, her joyous, infectious laughter that always lit his life, flashed in his mind's eyes, he lost her, all because of the five.

Those bastards were the reason his sisters had died a horrendous death in the bloody forest of Kampilya. And this bitch had lived on. She should have died.

He let his shoulders sag putting on a heart broken expression on his face, reaching down he wrapped his hands around the princess' shoulder.

"Don't break my heart Dhriti, I love you. I know I haven't been the most expressive of my love for you, but you are my only living sister and I am very protective of you" Concern dripped from each word, he gazed at the sobbing girl.

Mentally he rolled his eyes, never in his life would he ever care for this whore, fucking filthy piece of crap who married five men.

"Please bhraata..." He could hear the guilt that tore her in pieces, and his glee notched ten points higher. Beg me! He mentally chanted.

He turned away from her, stretching her misery longer, his footsteps echoed against the blue mosaic flooring, he walked up to the humongous windows that lined the either walls of the throne room.

The sun was sinking behind the valleys...so was the reign of Kuruvansh. Arrogance painted his oval face, maliciousness glinted in his once kind brown orbs, his thin faded pink lips that always smiled with affection for his sisters, today held the jagged cruelty of a broken man.

Vengeance flowed in his heart, he craved for it.

"Jyest I would do anything you say..."

Her pain reverberated through each syllable, he bit back a smile, letting her hang a little more longer, he could feel her desperation, like a bird caged in, restless to get out.

The pandavas were her soul...even though she didn't recall their true identity, she still loved them.

And he would use her feelings to poison each one of them.

He rested his hand on the window. "I know you don't remember our childhood, but I have loved my sisters dearly, always."

It was true, he loved them more than his life, the pain and love reflecting in his voice were not a lie, but it took tremendous efforts to hide his hatred for Draupadi.

He softened his gaze, turning to face the youngest born of Panchaal, "I am nothing but a loser in front of your wishes. How can I ever say no to you? But if I let them go...I would want you to do something for me."

A tear trekked down the contours of his cheek, letting his agony break through his face, and tugging down on the disgust that bubbled in him.

Disbelief marred her features, her head shot up. "You would do that for me...even after all that happened?"

And the little fishy is now in my trap...He mentally smiled, evil bubbling deep in his gut.

"Blood is thicker than anything, my loyalties would always be with my sister...it doesn't matter what you think of me dear. I am your older brother, I can never see you in pain, and this thing I am asking you to do is also for your protection. It's a small ritual."

Emotions flickered across her features all too fast for him to grasp any, her tears flowed faster as her cires of relief and guilt bounced across the walls.

Cry more Draupadi...cry. Your innocence is my power.

"I always misunderstood you...and our family..." Agony reverberated through her as he rushed to her wrapping his arms around her sobbing form he patted her head affectionately.

Adding a touch of affection to his long stretches drama. His skin crawled where he touched her.

"No matter what the child may think dear, their family will always love them, like we love you. I know we aren't the closest but I can't do anything to harm you permanently.

"Please forgive me jyest."

"There is nothing to forgive. You are just too innocent, it's why we are always so worried, our father has been terrified of losing you ever since we lost our five sisters. It's why he did what he did."

The fake touch of emotions and the smooth lies always worked the best to trap the naive, and women have always been emotional morons.

He held her as she cried her grief and the guilt that coated her soul.

He ran his fingers through her hair smiling over her head.

"Assure me completely and do that ritual for me Dhri, I promise, I will let the five go."

When she nodded, sniffling as she held him, he bellowed "Guards!"

A couple of soldiers that he had posted earlier came in rushing. "Let the Kuru's go. Escort them outside the borders of Vairatgad and see that they don't enter back."

He hammered in the final nail in her coffin to win her trust. The first part of his plan had gone smoothly.

"Thank you Bharata." She whispered, her voice hoarse from all the crying, he gave her an affectionate smile that masked his filthy intentions perfectly.

"For you, I will always do anything. Now go and get some rest, see what you have done to yourself, I want my sister happy and smiling, not this broken shattered mess. Clean yourself up, and get some rest." He pressed his lips to her forehead.

Helping her stand he watched as the young princess left, the smile on his face falling away replacing it with a hard mask of loathing.

Athiran, his loyal general, who had been hiding behind the huge white pillar, walked out, his lips pulled back to reveal an arrogant grin. "Well played my lord, well played. One little girl in our grasp, and soon the whole Kuruvansh will be on their knees."

Though the words reached his ear, his face revealed nothing. Druveda continued to stare at the door that the princess had left through. "They messed with my family. I would destroy their's. A slow long suffering hundred times worse than what they had done to mine."

Detestation rang through each word, like acid that ruined everything it touched.

"But what I don't understand, it was Kunti who had rejected the proposal of the five princesses' marriage, since the relationship of Maharaja Pandu and our king has always been strained. Why are we punishing the Kauravas, Duryoshan was our biggest ally for destroying the Pandavas for the longest?" Athiran asked, confused.

Druveda's jaw set, his gaze hardening, "Duryodhan is loyal to his so called cousins, that bastard abandoned our friendship because suddenly his heart changed after the arrival of Panchali." He growled.

"When I had attacked his wives I had thought he would go insane with his overprotectiveness and destroy the pandavas but that bloody moron ended joining forces with them."

He paced agitated, running his fingers through his dark wavy locks.

"But he had no idea you were planning to destroy the pandavas."

The general stated, he recalled when the news of Panchali's wedding had reached Vairatgadh, the king and prince Druveda had lost their sanity. Their sorrow had fuled their fury.

"My sisters wanted to marry the five, and because they had refused the marriage proposals, my sisters' went to do the Pooja in Kampilya! And ended up losing their lives in such a brutal manner."

Druveda roared, flinging the vase across the room, shattering it on the wall. So many pieces...his beloved sisters were choped down, his heart thrummed agonised.

His little sisters, all died...in such a gortsque manner. And why?! Because of those five!

"What I hadn't done?! I searched the sky and land for the murder...but there was nothing...and now all that remains is...the Pandavas...they will face my wrath. I'll make each one of them suffer, like my sisters did. That bitch had no right to live! She should have died, but she survived...while my sisters...they didn't. . ."

A choked sob passed through his lips, agony flamming his chest.

"I swear on my dead sisters...I will kill every last one of the people who are responsible for their death...every last one of them..."

His voice thundered with determination and the need for revenge.

"Till I don't find their murders, I'll kill the rest who are responsible..." He vowed, glaring around angrily.

Suddenly a maniac laughter passed through the young prince's lips. "Who knew...a family member would want them so desperately dead. The betrayal will flay the Kuruvanshis more than any blade could ever cut them."

"A family member?" The young general gazed at the price confused.

"Obviously... destroying the Kuruvanshis is not possible as long as they have each other. For the destruction of Ravan how Vibhishan was important. I have a Vibhishan too."

His insane laughter rang through the place, the young general gazed at the crowned prince of Viratgadh a little confused.

"What are you talking about your highness?" Had the prince finally lost his marbles?

"How do you think I got to know it was Pandavas who had infiltrated our place? How do you think the attack at Hastinapur has happened? Who do you think told us all about their weaknesses and military strategies?"

Realisation dawned on Athiran's face, a sick twisted glee lit his face, he grinned.

"Oh wow..."

The two gazed at each other, before their laughter filled the air, joyous and evil.

The end of Kuruvansh was near, and nobody could do anything to stop them. . .
