Briar's POV;

The sun peaked above the horizon and through the open widows of my room.

I felt the warm rays on cheeks and arose.

I yawned and saw,through the blur of colors that it was seven in the morning.

I sat upright in my bed when I remembered last night.

I swooned and sighed my share and hopped out of bed.

With a newfound enthusiasm, I quickly changed into my usual jeans and a black tank, put on a slight amount of makeup ( for the occasion ) , and left my hair down in beach waves.

I ran down the stairs, excited to go to work when I bumped into my stepmother which immediately damped my mood.

" Hi sweetie! Where are you of to this early? And why are you so excited? Wait a minute- are you wearing makeup?!", she asked as sweetly as she could.

" Why would you care?! It's not like you care about me anyway! Besides, wouldn't you want to get rid of me?!"

She struggled to keep her mask on now but managed to spit out, " Why of course I care about you darling!"

Sure she did! Not!

But I played along and said,"I am going to the marketplace a bit earlier than usual to,um.......uh......help more people and earn more money? Yah! I am going to the marketplace a bit earlier than usual to help more people and earn more money!"

I  nervously smiled and rushed to the kitchen.

I grabbed another apple to go and rushed out the door.

I ran down the stairs and out the apartment, thinking about his exploding dimples, his smile.

Sigh.

I stepped out of the lobby to a busy road, filled with people going from here to there, hovers zooming past me making my hair fly with it as well.

I waited for the stoplight and ran to catch up too the other citizens that were crossing the street with me.

Over multiple huge speakers, I heard the morning news;

"Good morning citizens! Welcome to another spectacular dawn at Avalor! Moving on, 30% our fellow citizens are sick and dying or dead from laystrom. Our countries bests are busily working-as we speak- on a cure to the terrorizing disease, but we can do a few things to save ourselves! Try your best to steer clear of germs, anything you do can spread germs so try to be a bit more cautious! Try to cover open wounds, germs can easily spread through them. And finally, if you see any of the symptoms of  laystrom, immediately go to a hospital. Next, our beloved prince, Prince Killian that is, is coming of age and will soon be king of our fair country! Rumor has it, he might be having a ball to find his future bride! That is right ladies! Get your best clothes and be prepared to look your best! Thank you for listening citizens! That will be all for today!"

I barely listened to the morning news in the mornings but today's had really made me want to go punch those speakers and let them free fall from the tallest skyscraper in the world.

He was looking for a bride!

I had competition!

I mean, I did know that almost all of the girls in Avalor where head-over-heels for him but didn't expect any of this to happen!

Feeling discouraged, I dragged myself,slowly,taking my time, to the market place.

I walked over to my booth, sat down, and waited.

*time-lapse*

I am practically snoring at this point, my hand supporting my head ( possibly drooling ), dreaming about how things were supposed to be. How I should be Killian's "one-and-only", how I would soon be his queen, how things should have worked out, snoozing peacefully when a felt a soft hand gently shaking my body.

My eyes fluttered open and I jerked awake once I saw a figure with a blue hood and jeans.

I heard a familiar voice say," Hi pretty girl."

I immediately started extremely swooning over the fact that he is here when I remembered the morning announcements.

I immediately deflated and nervously asked," So, is the morning news real?"

Then I realized I was talking to royalty so I added," Your majesty?"

"Don't called me that pretty princess! Just call me Killian! And yes, it is actually true. Dear old dad insisted of it so I had to agree."

I couldn't help it but my face just drooped at the thought that he wouldn't be mine after all.

He instantly noticed and asked," What's wrong doll?"

Nothing except for the fact that you could end up with someone other than me!

" Oh wait. I know the answer to that question, you are jealous that I might fall in love with someone else!"

Wait. What? No, not again! No wait, I didn't say anything how does he know? And did he say someone else?! Wait, does that mean what I think it means?! Squeeeee!!!!!!!!

"Wait a minute!" I ask," How do you know that?"

"You talk when you sleep love. It is actually rather cute!"

For the second time this week, I start blushing profoundly, unable to stop.

He looks at me a smiles, obviously enjoying my repeated embarrassment.

Then I start blushing even more and say, " Exactly how long were you here?"

"Since about the time you probably fell asleep, why sweet stuff?"

I basically explode at that point and almost die of embarrassment.

"Peaches! Calm down! Like I said before love,you are cute when you sleep! Besides! All you said was my name- a lot- and I think something about a yes?....."

Oh.My.Geez.

No! Why am I so weird?!

"Anyway, I came here to ask you if you were going to go to that ball by any chance."

And oddly enough, for the first time in forever, I finally saw mister smooth blush!

Yes! He was actually blushing!

I decided to seize the moment and asked with a smirk, " What's wrong? No more peaches or princess?"

Annoyed, he replied," Nothing doll! But are you love?"

I knew my stepmother would disagree,extremely, but I decided to try to convince her so I said," Sure."

I could see a huge smile break out of his face as he said," Great! See you soon love!"

I couldn't help but smile too and said," Bye Killian."

And after that, I looked like a insane lunatic, as I sat there smiling, waiting for the day to be over.
