Bret: I'm rather awesome but I'll let ZhoaFei tell you why I'm the Best pony.

I'll start off with telling you that Bret Bookspree is indeed the Best pony. I'll back up my reasons for my claim with facts. First off his his design...There's isn't anything to flashy about Bret really but he sticks a lot for having a simple design. A simple grey coat and blue everything else makes him very easy to create in a short amount of time. He is very simple that it's Brilliant and he couple be easily picked out of a group of MHBians and other ponies. With him being a earth pony, I had to give his life purpose. So the Forever stone was born and Bret is the guardian. Being the guardian of the Forever stone, he has high responsibility of keeping is locked and safe from any who wants to abuse its power. He takes pride in being chosen to such and honour and he has successfully defended most of his life and it ties into his role as in the MHB universe.
Character Development
Bret Like everyone else I'm MHB is a important to MHB character. Being part of MHB has been a major factor in how this character has developed over the year. I'll start on telling you how he's developed by going deep into his past.

As a young colt Bret was devastated when his parents were killed and he was branded a outcast to his family at the time. In the cold Araden winter Bret was taken into a apprenticeship from a pony that he only knew as "Mentor". His mentor taught him a solid foundation of knowledge for to build upon into his years. One thing he couldn't not teach him was to get along with other ponies besides him. Bret was pretty much a villain in his colthood and despised pretty much any and everything that stood in his past. He had no potential to grow as a character, until Lynal came into his life. Colt Lynal was the definition of annoying in Bret's eyes as Lynal would never quit trying to be Bret's friend. It worked and Bret's character development was underway. Lynal showed things to Bret that no book he's read can amount to the same result. Having his first friend Bret over time developed into a better pony and had a warmer heart. He no longer tried to shut anypony out and he tried to embrace others. In fact he started loving to meet new ponies and He noticed the differences between them and he respected their differences.

Going into another big factor of his character development was joining/creating the MHB Community. He found comfort in the other MHBians especially in his wife.

Before he got married he really developed into a pony who unintentionally offended others but he was oblivious to the harm that he was doing. He was more of a wise-ass than he is now and pretty much lacked the caring about to all others beside Lynal. Enter the mare of his Dreams, Diamond Dream is a nice looking mare(I don't want Bret to attack me :-) and Bret has a recurring fear that he might upset her and another stallion will come take her away from him. With her by his side, she has molded him into a much better stallion as he was capable of love and trusting others.He has gladly accepted the role of being supportive husband,loving Father and overall leader for the group. He's development of growth as a character is no where near complete due to him always having problems and he's facing these problems with confidence. He is more aware to others feelings and will due anything necessary to fix the problem.

More Proof
Besides the fact that he's growing as a character and begin to understand his social life more. Bret has other reasons why he's the best pony.

*He is best friends with a king
*He has a apprentice (No one else got one!!!Originality right there baby!)
* He's a character that you can love and can play many roles in different books. He can play the main character,supporting character and he can pass as a antagonist of the story.
* He has the Forever stone (makes his qualify as one of the strongest members in the magic ability category. )
* Unlike many people who believe that having a fancy design determines originality. He has a simple but yet brilliant design but a complex backstory and understanding on himself.
* And Simply I just make him work.
