Chapter Three: A Visit From Mark
It's been a day since you've been admitted the hospital. You haven't had any visitors. This caused you to have even more questions about your past. You've tried to get some of your questions answered by the doctors and nurses but they refuse to tell you anything. The only things that you know for certain are that (Y/N) is your true name and that you are the only survivor of a deadly car accident.
But even knowing these things caused questions to stir up in your head.
Where were you headed when the accident to occur? Was it really just a coincidence that you were the only survivor of the car accident? You feel even more frustrated now than you did yesterday.
Suddenly, a voice sounded on your speaker. All patients had a 'call for help' button in their room and a speaker that the doctors and nurses could use to communicate with them. You were in a no way above this system in any sort of way.
"(Y/N) (L/N), you have a visitor." You recognized it as the voice of the nurse that brings you your meals. "I'm sending them up."
You were about to respond when you realized that the speakers only worked one way and that they couldn't actually hear you.
You wondered who your visitor was. Maybe they have answers to the questions that you've been asking.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like this visitor was going to tell you anything useful.
Your visitor was Mark.
"Hi there (Y/N)." He said as he walked up to the edge of your bed. "You're looking lovely today."
You didn't understand why Mark was saying that. You were in a hospital gown and hooked up to a bunch of machines. You also remembered that you couldn't keep food down very well and had thrown up last night. Or maybe you thrown up because the food that they served was so bad. It certainly didn't smell too good.
"What the hell are you doing here?" You asked. "You act all creepy yesterday and now you're here visiting me? Do you know how weird that it?"
"I understand that it's really weird." He said. "I just wanted you to make sure that you had someone to talk to you besides the nurses and doctors."
"While I appreciate that you care about me like that, you just met me yesterday." You said. "You barely know anything about me. The only thing that you know about me is my first name."
"I know your last name too." Mark said like he had just found the cure to cancer (Wouldn't that be the day?).
"And how exactly do you know my last name?" You asked.
"The lady at the front desk." Mark said. "She asked me if I was looking for a (Y/N) (L/N) and I decided to take a chance and figured that there aren't too many (Y/N) (L/N)'s out in the world."
"Uh, there are plenty of (Y'N) (L/N)'s in the world." You said. "But I suppose that your risk paid off."
Mark looked at his watch and said, "Well, I best be going. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Wait, tomorrow?" You ask. "What do you mean?"
"I'm going to pay you a visit at least once a day." Mark said. "I can't let you get lonely. That would make me feel terrible."
Before you could protest, Mark left the room.
You learned one thing from his visit today.
You sure as hell didn't like the sound of Mark visiting you more than once a day.
