Chapter Fifty-Four: What On Earth Is Happening?
"Where the hell am I?" You asked yourself as you saw an seemingly endless blue sky above you.
You stood up and realized that you were standing on a cloud.
"What the hell is going on?" You asked. "Hey! Someone tell me what's going on here right now!"
Suddenly, you saw the scene disappear right on front of you. And, before you knew it, you felt as if you were floating once more.
"(Y/N)! Wake up!"
You heard Mark's concerned voice just then. You opened your eyes to see him looking at you, concern in his eyes.
"Oh. Thank God." He said, breathing a sigh of relief. "I thought you were dead."
"Me too." You said. And it was true. You really thought that you were dead. You thought that the place you were just at was Heaven. "I think I saw Heaven."
"Now, (Y/N)." Mark said, getting you back on your feet. "Let's not get too crazy here. Saying that you saw Heaven is a bit of a stretch, don't you think?"
"Maybe." You said. "I mean, all of the events that happened prior to the whole thing we're pretty weird."
"Okay. I'll give you that." He said. "Now, come on. Lets just forget about the whole thing and go watch the sunset, okay?"
"Okay." You said. But you were certain that you weren't going to be forgetting about this whole thing anytime soon.
As you walked hand in hand with Mark, you thought a lot about the events that had just unfolded. Why were you even laying on the grass in the first place? You didn't remember being at the park, that's for sure. And you were certain that Mark said that he was leaving for L.A. and he made it very clear that he wasn't going to come back for a while.
"What's going on here?" You wondered to yourself. "Why was I on the grass? And was what I really saw Heaven?"
"It's quite lovely, isn't it?" Mark asked you, pulling you out of your thoughts.
"Huh? What?" You said, darting your head around rapidly.
"Woah! Calm down (Y/N)!" He said. "I was just talking about the sunset. What's your deal?"
"Oh." You said, calming down and breathing a sigh of relief. "I was just thinking about...stuff."
"What sort of stuff?" He asked.
"Just thinking about the events that have just occurred." You said.
"Oh, here we go (Y/N)." Mark said, groaning. "I thought that we agreed that we weren't going to talk about that."
"I never agreed to anything!" You protested. "You were the one who thought that I agreed with it!"
"Listen," he said, clearly annoyed. "Let's just enjoy our time together. Aren't you happy that I'm staying?"
"Well, of course I am." You said. "Why wouldn't I be?"
"Well, it seems like all you care about right now are the things that just happened to you!" He said. "I just want to be with you and enjoy every moment that we get together."
"I understand that." You said.
Before you could finish your sentence, the world seemed to melt around you. It blurred even more every single second and it felt like you were floating again.
"Seriously," you said. "What's going on?"
Just then, a bright white light blinded you, causing you to squint and shield your eyes. When you could open them again, you saw that you were back at the University.
"Why am I back here?" You wondered.
You decided to see if Mark had experienced the whole ordeal with you.
"See Mark?" You said. "I told you that these events are of concern. I'm not so crazy now, am I?"
Just then, you heard a laugh. And this laugh didn't sound like Mark's at all.
"(Y/N), you're so hilarious." The voice said, still laughing. "Mark's not here. I'm sorry to disappoint you but you're stuck here with me."
