Prologue

_____________________________________________________________________________

Cherry blossom petals were falling around during spring. At the Saku household, 10 year old Hana was outside with a wooden sword in hand training with her mother Misako Saku. Her mother also wielding a wooden sword.

"Harder Hana don't hesitate." her mother said.

"Got it!" Hana replied and ran at full force towards her mother. She swung her sword, aiming to strike her mother only for her attack to be blocked. Each attack she threw was blocked multiple times. This continued until in the corner of her eyes, Hana found an opening. She knocked the wooden sword out of her mothers hand and pointed her own towards her.

"Very good Hana." she said with a smile.

"Thank you mom."

Both Hana and her mother walked back to their home. When they got home, they heard the sound of a crow. The crow had landed on Misako's shoulder, and tied to its leg was a letter.

"It's a letter from Urokodaki." Misako said as she grabbed the letter and opened it.

"What does it say mom?"

"Thank God. Your brother and sister passed the final selection, I'm so proud of them." she replied with a smile.

Hana smile as well, feeling so happy that Haru and Sayuri became demon slayers. Her smile was then replaced with a confused look. There was something that she was wondering in the past 5 years.

"Mom?"

"What is it sweetie?"

"How come Haru and Sayuri are Water Breathers and I'm not? Why am I doing Cherry Blossom Breathing?" she asked.

"Well, your father use to be a demon slayer before he became a doctor. His breathing style was water, when you were just a baby he would always tell stories about his days as a demon slayer." she said with a smile.

"Haru and Sayuri were always excited to hear his stories, it inspired them to become demon slayers. To rid the world of demons, so that nobody loses families and friends, to live in a world of peace."

"Wow."

"Now," she started.

"The reason why you are Cherry Blossom Breathing is because the gifts you were born with. You were born with sharp eyes that can see things that the naked eye can't, not only that you were born with the power to heal."she said, and continues.

"During my days as a demon slayer, there were members of the Cherry Blossom Clan that had the ability to heal. They were able to heal small cuts, broken bones, life threatening injuries, and some diseases. But they had to train really hard to fully control it because every time they used their power it would drain their energy, it'll take time for you to reach your full potential."

Hana a look of awe on her face after hearing her mother explain. She still had so many questions about her abilities but casted those aside, she had a better understanding as to why she was chosen for this breathing style.

"So that's the reason why I'm a Cherry Blossom Breather." Hana said.

"Yes sweetie it is. It's also why I've been training you since you were 5, so when the time come for you to be a demon slayer you'll be to protect yourself and those around you. As for your healing powers, it will take some time for you to get strong. To withstand the amount of energy it'll take from you."

"I understand mom. I'll train hard to become a power demon slayer, to protect people from demons, to rid the world of demons, and to give honor to the Cherry Blossom Clan. I won't let you down mom, I'll make you proud."she said with determination on her face.

"I'm already proud you Hana. I'm proud of all my children." Misako replied with a gentle smile, giving Hana a hug.

"Now let's go inside we don't want to keep your dad waiting."

"Okay."

When they entered their home, they were met with Daiki. He was fixing up his equipment and medications, since his last patient left not that long ago.

"Dad!" Hana exclaimed with a smile, as she ran and jumped into her dad's arms.

"Hana. How's my little cherry blossom?" he asked smiling while hugging his daughter.

"Great, I just finished training. I finally beat mom." she replied.

"Really? Is that true Misako?"

"Yes it's true." she answered with a chuckle.

"She finally knocked the sword out of my hand. In a few years, I think she'll be ready for the final selection."

"I see. Speaking of the final selection, did Haru and Sayuri pass?"he asked.

"They did, they both made out okay."

"Thank God. I'm happy they made it, but I'm still worried about them." he said, feeling worried about his children out in a world full of demons.

"Don't worry Daiki, they're strong. I know they'll be fine. Besides they said they'll send letters to us from the crow and update us on how they're doing. You need to trust them." she explained putting her hands on his shoulder to reassure him.

"Yeah, you're right. I need to calm down and have faith in them."

"Dad are you going to be like this when I become a demon slayer?" she asked. Her father gave her a gentle smile and replied,

"Of course I will Hana. I love you kids very much, that's why I get worried. I want you kids to be safe in this world and have great future."

"That's why I want to be a demon slayer, like you and mom. I want the world to be free of demons so that everyone can be safe. So that nobody loses someone important to them. I'm going to become a demon slayer to keep everyone safe!"Hana exclaimed to her father.

Daiki looked at his daughter with awe. He felt the passion she had inside of her, how passionate she was about becoming a demon slayer. He had tears in eyes, feeling proud of the person Hana is becoming. Not long after a few tears came out of eyes, slowly falling down his cheeks while he smiles at Hana.

"I know you will sweetheart. You're going to be an amazing demon slayer one day. And when that day comes just know that I'll always love you no matter what." he said as he gave her a strong hug.

"That's right Hana. Know that no matter what happens, we'll always be proud of you and love you so much." Misako said as she joined her husband and daughter in the hug.

"Thank you mom, thank you dad." Hana whispered, hugging them both really tight.

When they broke out of the hug, a small figure was hiding around the corner. The small figure ran out from his hiding place and jumped on his sister's back. This attack surprised Hana, that she almost fell forward but caught her weight.

"Big sis!" the small figure exclaimed. This small figure was Aki Saku, Hana's 3 year old brother.

"Aki! There you are I was wondering where you were." she said, putting her little brother on the floor.

"I was waiting for you to come home, I missed you big sis." Aki replied with a cute smile while hugging Hana's legs.

"Haha, I missed you too." she said hugging him back.

"Can we go play with the Kamados?! I wanna see Rokuta!" he exclaimed.

"I don't know Aki, it's up to mom and dad." she said in a teasing manner.

"Can we mom?! Can we dad?!"

Both Misako and Daiki chuckled at their youngest child's antics. It was still early in the morning, so they decided to let the children go out.

"Of course you two can go." Daiki replied.

"Yay! Come on Hana let's go!" he exclaimed with excitement, pulling his sister's arm.

"Okay, okay calm down I'm coming." she chuckled.

"Bye mom, bye dad!" she exclaimed before running out with Aki.

"Bye Hana, bye Aki." their father replied.

"Remember to come back at sunset, you two." their mother said.

"We will." Hana replied.

Despite their house being close to the Kamado household, it still took them a little while to reach their house. Aki was holding Hana's hand the whole way but was tugging her the whole time.

"Hana hurry I wanna get there quick."

"Aki we'll get there soon, just be patient." she replied.

Not long after their walk did they see a certain house at the distance, the Kamados house. Outside the house were three children, one girl and two boys. Aki recognized the children and started running towards them.

"Hanako! Shigeru! Rokuta!" he exclaimed. When the trio turned around, their faces brightened up when they saw Aki.

"Aki!" they exclaimed and started running towards him as well.

Hana laughed when Aki was tackled by the three and fell over. They were laughing and wrestling around on the ground, just having the time of their lives. Hana's laughing had also caught the trio's attention.

"Hana!"

Hana was then tackled by the children. It made her laugh even more. All of them were laughing and hugging each other, so much joy and energy from these kids.

"What's going on out here?"

Hana looked up when she heard the voice of a woman. This voice belonged to none other than Kie Kamado, the mother of the household. Kie came out to see what the commotion was all about only to see her children on top on Hana.

"Hanako, Shigeru, Rokuta. You get off of Hana this instant." she scolded. The children had gotten off of Hana and ran off with Aki to play.

"Hana I'm so sorry for their behavior."

"Haha, it's fine Mrs. Kamado, they didn't mean any harm." she replied.

"That's good and please call me Kie, sweetheart." she said with a gentle smile.

"Okay, Kie. How's Tanjuro doing, is he doing alright?" she asked.

"He's doing fine. Especially with the medication that your father provided."

"I'm sorry we couldn't find a cure for his illness, Kie." she said feeling disappointed that they couldn't find a cure for Tanjuro.

"Nonsense, it may not be a cure but it does help him. He thankful for everything your family's done for him." Kie replied.

"Anyways, if you're looking for the others they should be outside as well."

"Don't you need any help in the house?"

"No it's fine dear, you should go play with the others. Besides Tanjiro and Nezuko already finished with all the chores."

"Okay, then." she replied.

Just like Kie said, the others were outside as well. She spotted Nezuko and Tanjiro running chasing the children, her guess was that they were playing tag and they were it. It wasn't long until the older children spotted Hana.

"Hana!" Nezuko and Tanjiro exclaimed.

"Nezuko! Tanjiro!" Hana also exclaimed as they ran to her to give her a big hug.

"We didn't know you were coming today. You've been gone for a long time." Tanjiro said when they released from the hug.

"It's only been 3 days since our last visit Tanjiro." she chuckled.

"Yeah but it feels like a long time, we missed you."

"I missed you guys too, especially Aki he really wanted to come over."she said looking over at Aki playing with the younger Kamados. In the corner of her eyes, Hana saw something or someone slowly creeping near her. She waited for them to get closer until she grabbed them.

"Gotcha!"

"AH!" they shouted. The person that tried to sneak up on her was none other than Takeo. He tried to scare Hana, but had failed in doing so.

"Nice try Takeo, but you have to do better than that."

"That's not fair, how did you see me?!" he yelled.

"It's like how Tanjiro has a good sense of smell. I have sharp eyesight, I can see things that you can't. That's how you got caught."she said as she put him down.

"Whatever, it's not like I care." he said crossing his arms, while pouting.

"Takeo got caught! Takeo got caught!" Hanako, Shigeru, Rokuta and Aki teased, pointing and laughing at Takeo.

"Shut up you little brats!"

"There, there Takeo." Hana said as she patted his head.

"Quit it!"

"There, there." she said again, continuing the pats.

"I said quit it!" he yelled, shaking his head away from her. Everyone just laughed at his outburst. Takeo just kept on yelling at them to stop laughing at him, but they didn't. Hana was the first to seize her laughter at turned to see Tanjuro sitting on the engawa, smiling at the children. She departed from the group and walked over to where Tanjuro was.

"Mr.Kamado, how have you been?" she asked as she bowed greeting the man.

"I'm doing well, thank you for asking Hana. And please, call me Tanjuro." he replied.

"Tanjuro, I'm really sorry that my father couldn't find a cure for your illness. He tried so hard to find a way to cure you so that you could live a long life with your." she said with a sad voice, keeping her head down to avoid his sight.

"Don't feel that way Hana. I know your father did his best and I'm thankful for the medication he's given me. I feel a bit stronger than I was before and that's good enough for me." he explained. Hana lifted her head up, listening to his explanation.

"Besides even if I don't live long enough, I'm still grateful for the life God has given me. Not everything lasts forever, we just have to make the best of it before it's time. We may not get everything we've wanted but should be grateful for what we have." he said as head reached his hand to Hana and rubbed her hair affectionately. She had a look of awe from his words, such a wise and beautiful meaning.

"Where did you learn that?" she asked.

"Nowhere. It's just the way that I see life. The world is a cruel but beautiful place, do you understand?"

"Yes. It's a beautiful way to see the world, to see life." she replied.

"Hana!" she turned around to see that Nezuko had called her.

"Hana we're going to play hide and seek, come on!" Nezuko exclaimed.

"Okay hang on!" she replied. She turned back to Tanjuro to see him with a gentle smile on his face. He continued to smile while rubbing Hana's hair.

"Remember Hana, live your life to the fullest. Find yourself in the world, find your purpose." he said.

"I will, I promise." she said as she ran off with the others. Tanjuro smiled as she ran off to his children.

"I know you will." he whispered.

"...8...9...10! Ready or not here I come!" Hana exclaimed. She uncovered her eyes and started looking for them. Hana studied her surroundings, using her sharp sight she was able to see footprints that led to different directions.

She notice that there were two sets of footprints that went the same way, tiny footprints. Hana concluded that Aki and Rokuta had ran off and hid together, so she decided to get the little ones first. She followed the footprints and they led to the inside of the house. Slowly, she made her way to the house without letting them know.

"You think she found us yet?" she heard Rokuta ask.

"Hopefully not, but we have to stay quiet." Aki replied. Unknown to the toddlers, Hana was on the other side of the shoji. Just when they thought they were safe, the shoji quickly slid open startling the boys.

"FOUND YOU!"

"AHHHH!!!!" they shouted.

"I got you two!" she exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around them. They wiggled around in her hold trying to escape.

"No fair! You have good eyesight!" Aki exclaimed.

"Life's not fair, kiddo. We're not always gonna get want we want."she explains as Aki pouts. She carries the toddlers back to the engawa and continues her search for the others.

Like she did with the toddlers, Hana followed the footprints to see where the others had gone to. She then noticed three pairs of footprints, two small one and one big one. The small ones were obviously Hanako and Shigeru's footprints, the big ones had belonged to Nezuko because even though they were bigger they were a bit smaller to be Tanjiro's.

_____________________________________________________________________________

"Do you think she knows where we are?" Hanako asked. Her, Nezuko and Shigeru were hiding behind some bushes, being on lookout for Hana.

"No I don't think so." Nezuko replied.

"Thanks for helping us Big Sis." Shigeru said.

"Of course! Big Sis will watch for you and we'll be Hana for sure this time." she exclaimed. While she was talking to them, she didn't notice Hana silently come up behind her. Hanako and Shigeru noticed and gave her a closed eye smile when Hana brought a finger up to her lip, signaling them to be silent.

"What is it?" Nezuko asked, confused as to why her siblings were smiling. Her question was answered when Hana placed a hand on her shoulder, frightening the girl.

"Found you." Hana said with a gentle smile.

"Yeah I guess you did." she sighed but still smiled.

"Five down, one to go." Hana whispered as she smirked.

"Hana you coming?" Nezuko asked.

"You guys go without me, I still have Tanjiro to find." she said as she ran off.

"Tanjiro's a goner." Hanako said.

"Yeah, with Hana's sharp eyes she'll easily find him." Shigeru replied.

_____________________________________________________________________________

Hana was walking around, looking at her surroundings to spot Tanjiro in the forest. She continued to follow his footsteps, and kept a sharp eye on anything that pinpoint his hiding place.

"Hmm...he has to be here somewhere."she thought. She kept looking around until from a distance she saw something that stuck out. From a distance she saw a bush and with her sight, she was able to see small strands of burgundy hair sticking out of the bush.

"There he is." she thought with a grin.

Thanks to her training, she was able to silently sneak up on him like she did with the others. There was only one problem though, even though he couldn't hear her he can smell her. So the moment she was getting closer, the stronger her scent was. As soon as her scent got stronger, Tanjiro ran out of the bush. Hana started running after him, she easily caught up to him because of her total concentration breathing. She speeded up and tackled him causing them to roll on the ground. When they stopped, Hana was sitting on top of Tanjiro both blushed at their position. Hana just laughed at the situation.

"Found you." she giggled which cause Tanjiro to laugh as well.

"Yeah you caught me." he replied. They laughed for a bit before Hana stood up and stuck her hand out to help Tanjiro up, which he gladly accepted.

"That was fun." she said as she dusted herself.

"Yeah it's fun for you. You can easily spot us with those eyes of yours." he said with a smile.

"Please like you're one to talk, with that nose of yours you can you can find out where we're at." she replied.

"Yeah fair point."

"Come on let's go Tanjiro." she said as she grabbed his arm and dragged him back to his house.

"Okay." he giggled.

_____________________________________________________________________________

Tanjiro and Hana were sitting on the engawa, while the others were running around playing. The sky was turning orange due to the sun setting.

"Hana, how come you didn't visit in a while? Sometimes it takes days for you come over." he asked.

"Well my mom's been training me. It takes so much time and energy for me to complete it. It why I take a while to visit."

"Training for what exactly?"

"To protect people. I want to protect my loved ones, I don't want anything to hurt them."she replied.

"Ohh! You must be very dedicated in your training then."

"Yeah I am. Hey Tanjiro, have you thought of your future?" she asked.

"Hmm...I haven't thought about it that much but I still want to support my family selling charcoal, and I want to have a family of my own. What about your future Hana?"

"Well...to be honest I don't know. Since I was five my future has already been made up. I want to protect people in the world. It it wasn't for that that then I would probably work in medicine like my father, I would still get to help people as well. Not only that but I want a family of my own, a big family with lots of kids. But I don't know if I could have that."

"You can. I know you're strong Hana who said you can't have it all. Remember the future isn't set in stone."he said giving her a gentle smile.

"Yeah maybe you're right." she said, giving him a smile as well. they continued to stare into each others eyes, both blushing when they realized it. Their trance was broken when they heard one of the kids cry in pain. They turned to see that Rokuta had tripped and scraped his knee, they ran up to him see if he was alright.

"Rokuta, are you okay what happened?" Tanjiro asked as he pulled Rokuta in his lap.

"I-I...was playing w-with A-Aki and I wasn't looking and f-fell." he whimpered in pain. He showed them his knee, the skin was gone and there was lots of blood from the wound.

"Don't worry, let's get to cleaned up and we'll wrap it up. Okay?" Tanjiro said. Rokuta's responds with a nod, tears still in his eyes from the pain. Tanjiro was about to stand up to treat the toddler's wound when Hana placed a hand on his shoulder to stop him.

"What is it Hana?" he asked.

"Let me treat it." she replies. Her response earns a confused look from him.

"What do you mean?"

"Just trust me." she said.

She gently places one of her hands on Rokuta's knee. Hana closed her eyes and focused her energy on the wound. Her hand started to glow light pink, indicating her healing powers. The Kamado children watched in awe as her hands were glowing and that the wound had started to heal. Hana furrowed her eyes as she used her energy and felt dizzy, luckily the wound had completely healed.

"Wow! Big bro look she healed my leg. It feels better!" Rokuta exclaims. Tanjiro had looked over and was both amazed and shocked that the wound was gone.

"Hana. That was amaz-" he paused when he noticed that Hana was kneeling on one of her knees and looked tired.

"Hana, are you okay?" he asked as he placed Rokuta back on his feet. She looked up to meet a concerned look on Tanjiro.

"I'm fine. It's just that when I use my healing abilities, it's takes some of my energy." she replied, taking deep breaths.

"Here, let me carry you." he offered, only for Hana to decline.

"No it's fine Tanjiro. Besides the sun's setting and we have to head home already." she said. She was replied with a bunch of whining from the younger ones.

"No!"

"You have to leave already?!"

"Don't go!"

"Do we have to go home right now Big Sis?!" Aki complained.

"Yes we do. Mom and Dad told us to come home when the sun sets. We don't want to disappoint them if we don't come home on time, do we?" she said.

"No." Aki muttered while pouting, staring at the ground.

"Then let's go. Come on say, bye to the Kamado family."

Aki was hugged by Rokuta, Hanako and Shigeru. Sad that they had to leave already. Because of Hana's training, they don't get to visit as often as they wanted to. Kie and Tanjuro came out to say their farewells to the two children, sad that it'll be a while until they come visit again. The three children surrounded Hana and gave her a group hug.

"Don't worry we'll come back soon, I promise." she said. They nodded and separated to let their parents say bye as well. Both Kie and Tanjuro gave her a tight hug.

"Bye sweetie, get home safely." Kie said.

"Bye Hana, take care of yourselves." Tanjuro said.

"Yeah we will." she said with a smile. She looked over at Takeo to see that he was looking away pouting. She walked over to him and gave him a hug.

"Bye Takeo, we'll see you soon."

"Yeah, whatever just don't take too long." he muttered, causing Hana to chuckle as she rubbed his head. She then gave Nezuko a hug.

"Bye Nezuko, I'll braid your hair next time I visit." she said, making Nezuko laugh.

"I'll see you next time Hana." she said when they broke out of the hug.

All there was left was Tanjiro, he had this sad smile on his face when Hana walked up to him. He was sad to say bye, she was as well. The longest time for them to visit was a week, the least 3 days and as much as Hana wants to come over she can't when she's training for something she was destined for.

"Bye Tanjiro, I'll try to visit soon I promise." she said giving him a tight hug.

"Don't worry, I don't care if you take a long time to visit. As long as I get to see you I'm happy." he said with a sad smile, tightening the hug. Sadly they had to break the hug so that Hana and Aki could go home.

"Come on Aki." she said gently, grabbing his hand.

"Bye guys, we'll see you next time!" she exclaimed and waved at them. The family waved back as well as saying goodbye.

"Bye!" Rokuta exclaimed, followed by Hanako and Shigeru.

"See you next time!"

"Come back soon!"

"Take care kids!" Kie exclaimed.

"Stay safe, you two." Tanjuro said.

"Bye guys!" Nezuko exclaimed as well. Tanjiro on the other hand, had stayed quiet and just waved as their figure got smaller and smaller. He wanted to spend more time with Hana.

Tanjiro heard stories from his parents of how they fell in love, how they felt when they were around each other. It's the same thing he's feeling now with Hana. Everything time they're alone together he always has this warm feeling inside of him, it's a feeling that he doesn't want to end.

"Bye, Hana" he whispered.

_________________________________________________________________________________

"Mom! Dad! We're home!" Hana shouted as they came into the house. Luckily they got home before the sun completely set.

"Oh good, just in time for dinner. It's both your favorites." she teased. They gasped when they realize what she made for dinner.

"ODEN!" they exclaimed with joy. They ran to join their father at the kotatsu.

"Dad!" they exclaimed and came up to hug him. It surprised him at first but quickly disappeared when he hugged his children.

"Hey you two, how was it at the Kamados?" he asked with a smile. Hana and Aki talked about how they had an amazing day with the family. How Hana was able to spot all of them during hide and seek with her enhanced vision, playing with Rokuta and just how they had fun.

"Oh that reminds me. Dad, Tanjuro wanted to thank you for the medication you provided him. He says it makes him a bit stronger than how he was before." she said.

"Well, I'm glad that he feels stronger. I just wish I can find a cure for his illness...that man doesn't deserve to be sick." he said sadly. Hana felt sad with the words that came out of her father's mouth. It's true that Tanjuro doesn't deserve to be in that condition, he deserves to be able to run around with his kids and be able to do everything. Then she thought about the conversation they had earlier when she went over.

"I know how you feel dad. I wish I could fully master my healing abilities so that I could take his illness away. But, he told me that he's thankful for what you've done for him and his family. He also said that he's grateful for the life God gave him. He may not have everything but he's grateful for what he has." she explained with a gentle smile, looking at her father.

"I see. He's a very strong man, a very happy man despite the condition he's in." he said.

Before they could continue their conversation, Misako had placed dinner on the kotatsu. Oden, onigiri, and tempura were all set for them to eat.

"Wow! Mom it's looks great!" Hana exclaimed. Aki had his mouth watering over the dishes in front of him.

"Thank you Hana. Don't be shy you two dig in, I know you have a big appetite from playing today." she said. Not long after, the whole family was eating and enjoying their time together. Hana had remembered what happened before they left the Kamado residence.

"Mother! I just remembered, before we left Rokuta had fallen and injured his knee. I was able to fully heal him with my abilities. It's that amazing?"

"Yeah she healed Rokuta!" Aki exclaimed.

"That's fantastic Hana, you're already becoming a great Cherry Blossom Breather. It's that right Daiki?" she asked her husband.

"That is great sweetie, you're going to be strong demon slayer." he replied. Hana felt so happy making her family proud of her. She felt like she's accomplished so much already in her training. Then, she started wondering if she'll have time for Tanjiro and the others before she becomes a demon slayer.

"Mom. Dad. Do you think I can have some time away from training for a bit?" she asked. Her parents looked at her a bit shocked, wondering why she would want to stop her training.

"But why Hana, you've come a long way?" Daiki asked. Hana started fidgeting in her seat, she didn't want to disappoint them.

"Well...it's just that, in a couple of years I'll go to the final selection and become a demon slayer. All of my training hasn't given me enough time to spend with the Kamado family. When I become a demon slayer I won't ever have time to spend with my loved loves, I...I just want a few breaks from my training every now and then." she explained, looking down at the kotatsu after she finished speaking.

Daiki and Misako looked shocked. They didn't know that their daughter felt this way, and it hurt them to not see this before.

"I mean you have been training her really hard Misako. Maybe she deserves to have a break from time to time." he said.

"Hmm. I guess you're right sweetie, I've been pushing you too hard. I think you earned a break from training for a while." she replied. Hana looked up surprised with their response, she thought they would be disappointed that she stopped her training.

"Really?Thank you so much!" she exclaimed and hugged her parents.

"I thought you guys would be disappointed in me. That I wanted to have some time away from training." she said with a tear falling down her cheek.

"No, no sweetie that's not true." Daiki said hugging her back.

"Hana, we'll never be disappointed in you. You have been training since you five, and you're far ahead where I was at your age. You deserve to spend time with others and enjoy your life." Misako said.

"Yes, mom. You hear that Aki? We can visit the Kamados more often now." she said as she faced her little brother. His eyes were bright and his smile was so wide.

"Really! Yay!" he exclaimed and started jumping around in excitement. The whole family stated laughing at his antics.

"Now you spend more time with Tanjiro, Big Sis!" he exclaimed, making Hana heavily blush.

"Aki!" she yelled feeling embarrassed. Her parents were just smiling, knowing for a fact that their daughter has a crush on Tanjiro.

Not long after, the family was getting ready for bed. Before Hana went to her room she was called by her mother.

"Hana, before you go to bed there's something I want to give you." she said. Hana looked at her in confusion as Misako put her hands behind her neck and unclipped her necklace. It was a necklace with a beautiful cherry blossom pendant.

"Mom, it's beautiful." she said with a look of awe.

"Yes, it is. It's been in my family for generations, since the very first Cherry Blossom Breather. In every generation, this necklace was passed down to a member of the family that would become a Cherry Blossom Breather. Now it's for it to be passed down to you." she said as she clipped the necklace around Hana's neck.

"Hana, as long as you have it on your family will always be with you."

"Yes, mother."

"Now get some rest Hana, you're going to need all your energy for tomorrow when we visit the Kamados."

"I will, goodnight mom." she said as she hugged her mother. Misako hugged back and gave her a peck on the forehead.

"Goodnight, sweetie."

________________________________________________________________________

It was in the middle of the night that Hana had woken up. She her noise coming from inside the house, it sounded like her parents were...fighting. Hana got out of bed and quickly ran to where her parents were. She was met with the sight of her parents holding their Nichirin swords, covered in cuts that were bleeding. They were fighting a demon that had a hat and suit on.

"MOM! DAD!" she yelled in fright.

"Hana! You and your brother need to get out of here!" Daiki exclaimed as he did his best to block the demon's attacks.

"No! Let me fight with you!" she yelled with tears in hers eyes. This was something her prepared her for, wasn't it? To fight demons. She needed to help her parents or else they'll die.

"NO! You need to leave now! Get Aki and get away from here!" her mother yelled.

"But you trained me for this, you guys need help!"

"Hana please! Listen to me and leave! Get your brother and run to safety!" Misako exclaimed. She had tears in her eyes, she didn't want to put her children in danger. They needed to get away or else they'll all die. Hana at that moment just listened to what her mother said and ran to get Aki. When she entered his room, she saw him awake in his futon crying from all the yelling he was hearing. She kneeled down and picked him up, making their escape.

"Come on Aki, we need to leave."

"But what about mom and dad...we can't leave them behind." he whimpered, tears falling down his cheeks. As much as Hana didn't want to leave them behind, she had to. It was one of her toughest choices to make, but if her parents wanted them to be safe and sacrifice themselves then so be it. She has to at least listen to their final wishes.

"I'm sorry...but we have to." she whispered to him while crying. She ran out his room only to pause when they heard their father scream very loudly. Hana had to continue, she has to make it out no matter what. She continued to run to the front shoji, but froze when she saw the sight of her father dead, laying on the floor all bloody with his sword in his hand. Misako continued to fight the demon, her eyes widen in shock to see her mother still fighting with many injuries that were heavily bleeding.

The demon then swung his claws at her, cutting her so badly that she collapsed and didn't have enough strength to stand up and fight. She opened her eyes to see her youngest children staring at her, she had tears in her eyes knowing this will be the last time she sees her children.

"Mom." Hana whimpered.

"Go...please stay safe...I love you." she said in a weak voice. Hana didn't stop her tears from falling, this was her final moments with her mother. As much as she wanted to fight for her mother's life, she couldn't. She had to leave for the safety of her and her little brother, it's what her mother wants.

"We love you too mom, I'm sorry." she cried as she ran out of the house. She looked back to see her mother fighting with her last breath, as that demon was staring at Hana. Even though she had really good sight, all she could remember was his red demonic eyes. She turned her head forward and continued to run away.

"I'm sorry...mom...dad." she thought.

The sun was starting to rise, Hana continued to her destination holding Aki in a tight grip. She didn't stop until she made it to the Kamados house. Hana collapsed onto her knees when they were in front of their house. She couldn't hold it in anymore and started sobbing, letting everything out. Aki was awake as well and started crying with her, holding onto each other as if they were going to disappear.

"I'm sorry...I was too weak." she thought as she continued to cry. The siblings continued to cry when they heard the sound of a shoji slide open, Tanjuro had appeared.

"Hana? Aki? What happened? Are you two alright?" he asked as he came up to them.

"Mom...and dad...red eyes." she said as she was breathing heavily.

"Hey, calm down. Take deep breaths and tell me what happened."

"Mom and dad...a demon came in. They w-were fighting it and told us to leave. D-Dead...they're dead, they d-didn't make it." she said as she was crying.

"Hana, please take me to them." he said. She decided to take him to their house, she had to leave Aki behind but luckily Kie was already awake to take care of him. Hana guided Tanjuro on the way to the house, when they got there is was heartbreaking. They saw Daiki and Misako's bodies laying on the floor unmoving, eyes closed. With the daylight Hana was able to see all the blood in the room, it made her sick to see such a sight.

Not long after, Tanjuro and Hana carried their bodies out to give them a proper burial. After burying her parents, Hana grabbed their swords and stabbed them into the ground to be used as their headstone. Both Tanjuro and Hana were praying over their bodies and just sat in silence. Everything just fell apart. Her parents are gone, her older brother and sister aren't here either. It was just her and Aki.

"Hana. You and Aki should stay with us." he said breaking the silence. She thought about it. They barely make enough money to feed a family of eight, with two more mouths to feed they would struggle even more. She didn't want to burden them.

"Thank you for the offer Tanjuro, but I can't. You already have on your hands, we'll just be a burden to you guys." she said in a quiet voice.

"You two are family, it's the least we can do after everything your family has done. I know we struggle a bit but as long as we're together everything will be okay. Come it's time we go home." he said with a gentle smile. Hana teared up, despite their struggle he still wanted to take them in. A new home, a new family.

A crow had arrived and landed on her shoulder. The crow had a letter wrapped around its leg. She grabbed the letter and opened it to read the message.

'Dear Mom and Dad,

Haru and I are doing fine. We're just waiting to retrieve our swords at the moment. When we do we'll visit before we go to our first mission. It's been 2 years that we went to train and we want to spend time as a family before we go on our journey. We also want to see how much Hana and Aki have grown, we miss you all so much.

Sincerely,

Sayuri and Haru'

Haru and Sayuri, they don't know about the events that happened. It pain her to tell them that their parents are gone, but they needed to know. She told Tanjuro that she had to send a letter to her brother and sister. When she finished the the letter she sent the crow, telling it to not come here anymore.

After that, Hana and Tanjuro made their way back. Tanjuro had his arm wrapped around her as a way to comfort her. By the time they made it back, everyone in the household was awake. He told them about Misako and Daiki passing away, how Hana and Aki are going to live with them from now on. All the family can do was hug them, they were shocked and sadden about the news. They were going to be there for them, to help them heal and find happiness again.

At Urokodaki's home, Sayuri was working on her haori while Haru was doing some extra training with Giyuu until they received their swords. They were mainly focusing on their breathing techniques and their speed.

"Hey Sayuri, how long until we get our swords?" Haru asked.

"They said in about 15 days we'll get our swords." she said as she finished her haori.

"The sooner we get them the sooner we can visit home, I miss them."

"I miss them too. Hey Giyuu, if you want you can come with us to meet our family." she told him. All he can do is reply with a blank look.

"I'll think about it." he replied. Urokodaki came to them with a crow, with a letter on its leg.

"Haru. Sayuri. You two have a letter." he said.

"It must be from mom and dad." Haru said. He came up to the crow to grab the letter and opened it. When he read the letter he froze, he was in shock with what the letter said. Sayuri was concerned as he didn't say a word.

"Haru, what's wrong?" she asked. He still didn't respond and gave her the letter, with a tear coming down his cheek. When Sayuri read the letter, she was shocked at what the letter was.

'Dear Haru and Sayuri,

It's been 2 years since we last seen each other. It's hard to say this but mom and dad passed away. It was in the middle of the night that they were attacked by a demon. Their final wish was for Aki and I to get to safety. All I remembered was his demonic red eyes, I'll never forget those eyes. I'm sorry for not being strong enough to save them. We're living at the Kamados house, they'll take good care of us. I don't know how long until we meet again but I'll be stronger by then, I'll avenge them and kill that demon. This is a goodbye for now.

With love,

Hana'

Sayuri broke down at the moment, she couldn't believe it she just couldn't. She continued to cry and let everything out. Giyuu wrapped his arms around her to try and comfort her, she hugged back and placed her head in his neck.

"They're...dead." Haru whispered as tears continued to fall. Urokodaki was sad to hear the news as well. Daiki Saku, a former Water Breather of his is gone. Their parents are gone and there's nothing they could do but move forward. All they could do is get stronger for their younger siblings.

It's been 3 years since that incident, 3 years that they've lived with the Kamados and 3 years Hana has been training to get stronger. She was still determined to become a demon slayer, and she won't give up.

It was winter at the moment, Hana was staring at the sky gripping the pendant her mother gave her before she died. She remembered what her mother said to her when she gave her the necklace.

"Hana, as long as you have it on your family will always be with you."

"You're always with me...mom...dad." she whispered. In the corner of her eye, she saw a figure come up to her. She turned around to see that it was Tanjiro, he's changed over the past 3 years. He got tall and his hair grew long to point where he had to wear it in a ponytail. Tanjiro looked so much like his father, it was sad that he passed away. It really made an impact on the family and the responsibility fell onto Tanjiro to be the man of the house at so young.

"Hey Tanjiro."

"Hey Hana, how are you feeling?" he asked.

"I've been good, I'm just thinking about my parents again. Not just them but your dad as well. They were really good people." she said in a quiet voice.

"Yeah they were. Even though they're gone, they're still alive in our memories." he said giving her a gentle smile.

"Yeah, I guess you're right." she said smiling back.

"Hana do you want to help me sell charcoal in town today?"

"Of course I'll help, come on let's go get the charcoal and the basket." she said. It's not the first time she helped him sell charcoal, she loved helping the family after they've done so much for her. Even though she won't forget the events that took place 3 years ago, she can move forward to protect those around her.

Little did Hana know that tragedy was going to strike again.
