"I'll be fine. It's just a hero's day at work, right?"
Staten Island Ferry, New York, 2016-
"Your bag?" Charles exclaimed, the bag being slung over his back. "Why do we need it?" He swung it over so it hung on one shoulder instead of two.
"Charlie," Alison gestured to the ferry that was being attacked by some criminals and a flying vulture. "If I don't get out there, people could die!"
Charles looked at her. "But you could die! And even if I give you the suit, you'd have to run on water to get there?"
Alison glanced over at Charles, trying to place a brave and confident look on her face. "Charles, I have to try. If people-"
"You have to travel at least 30 meters per second to do that Ali." Charles interrupted, standing beside Alison's chair.
"Yeah yeah, well, I'm going to have to run that fast someday." The banter was dragging on longer than Alison would of liked, and it was clearly displayed through her antsy position in her chair.
"It took the Flash two seasons to even run on water. Two! You've barely become a superhero and you think you can do this?" Charles protested, throwing his hand out at the water. "I can't lose you Ali! You're the last real family I've got."
Alison stood up from her chair, snatching the bag quickly with her super speed, then changing into her suit hidden in the backpack, in a matter on milliseconds. "Yeah well, screw the Flash. I've always thought that skimpy man in the Scarlet suit was dumb anyways."
Pulling her visor-like mask onto her face, Alison pulled her hair back into a ponytail. She had decided to ditch the blue extensions in her hair, and go with a more basic look.
"Ali-" Charles hoarsely whispered, seeing Alison suited up in all her glory. "Please, be safe. With your back and everything-" He paused, slightly scared for his sister.
Alison glanced down at her younger brother. "My back is totally fine." She reassured. "And hey, if a kid named Dash who's years younger can do it in the first movie of Incredibles, can't I?" She tried to keep her brother's hopes up, wishing herself that nothing would go wrong.
"Just be safe." Charles pleaded, holding onto his sister's sleeve one final time. "And please, please, please, don't drown on the way there. I don't want to go explain to Jackie why my sister is down at the bottom of the New York Harbor."
Alison gave Charles a small wink. "Don't worry, I'll be back in a flash." She rustled his hair, and quickly sped off into the distance.
Charles looked at her with exasperation, throwing his hands up at the girl, who was speeding away. "How am I supposed to explain an empty wheelchair? Or do anything with an empty wheelchair?" He called out into the air, slowly realizing Alison probably couldn't hear him from how far away she was. "Ugh!" Charles let out an exasperated sigh, and sat down in the wheelchair, watching his sister go play hero.
By the time Alison actually realized she was speeding across the water- and actually doing something impossible- she was at the ferry. All around her, there were thugs, and one Vulture. Alison gave a glance over at Peter, erm, Spider-Man, who had just blindly thrown a grenade spiderweb bomb at a thug.
"Well that looks like fun." Alison smirked, giving a mischievous smile to the Spider-Man. "What do we do next?"
Spider-Man looked gratefully at Breakout for a second. But not even seconds later his face molded into an expression that didn't seemed happy. "I have this under control!" He exclaimed, glancing over at a loud slam on a white truck.
It was a man with a devilish expression and a truly villain smile. Alison and Peter could both tell that he was truly the Vulture. Alison thought he looked familiar, but she shook the thought out of her head quickly. She could of just seen him on the street, or in a comic book store. It wasn't uncommon. Her focus quickly changed from trying to solve who the Vulture was to a bigger problem on hand.
"FBI!" Some agents screamed, holding their guns over the Staten Island Ferry rails, looking rather menacing. "Put your hands up!"
Peter looked confused, his hands quickly flying up, asking Karen what they meant by FBI. The conversation included many interruptions of Karen by Peter, and some troubled questions.
Meanwhile, Alison stood her ground, casually crossing her arms in a resting position. An almost annoyed look rested on her face, a laugh quickly coming out of her mouth.
"You know, the last time I was told to put my hands up, it really didn't go well." Alison warned, looking down at her exposed hand in the crossed arm position.
"Ma'am, I need you to put your hands up." One FBI agent spoke sternly, aiming his machine gun towards the teenager. "You are in violation of the-"
"Sokovia Accords." Alison interrupted, quickly brushing off the order. "Yeah, yeah, I've heard of them. Still haven't signed them, and never will. Might I remind you I'm underage?" She chided, shaking her head in a mocking way.
Before the FBI agent could speak another sentence, the Vulture popped out of the white van hiding within the cars. The villain looked rather menacing, his wings ripping the car metal apart.
When the Vulture finally fully made it out of the van, he was holding a purple gun in his hand. Alison knew that the gun could only mean one thing- chaos.
Peter was trying to tell the FBI agents to move out of the way, and he seemed almost desperate to do so. "Get out of the way!" He warned, his voice getting higher and higher with every word.
Alison saw the look of desperation in his eyes as an FBI agent tried firing a few rounds at the Vulture to no avail, and she sped the FBI agents up to the main tourist deck, safe and out of harm's way.
By the time Alison had made it back from dropping the FBI agents off upstairs, there was a car floating in the New York Harbor, and some of the safety railing at the back of the boat burned off.
"Get to the top deck!" The Vulture told one of the crew members, flying away from the boat. "We're getting out of here." He loaded his gun and fired some more blasts at the ferry in an attempt to distract the two heroes on the bottom level.
Spider-Man decided to take action, and threw a web onto the foot of the Vulture's clunky boots. Pulling down firmly on the web, Peter could see he would probably not keep the hero down. "Al-Breakout! A little assistance here!" He stumbled over his words, almost calling his superhero comrade by her actual name.
"And how can I assist you over there? It's not like he's flying towards-" Alison was interrupted by more blasts of the purple energy coming from the Vulture's gun.
The blasts kept coming towards the heroes, one after another after another. One of the blasts hit a car behind Spider-Man, causing the car to screech towards the hero. Spider-Man quickly reacted, and jumped to the next deck above. He had lost ahold of his grip of Vulture, so he tried to reach out for the villain again.
More blasts were thrown as Spider-Man strained onto the grip of the Vulture's foot, and was flung into the air below the villain. Alison stood on the deck, trying to find her web-slinging friend and or ally. She felt kind of helpless down on the deck, and had an itch to do something.
However, Spider-Man regained his footing on the boat in a matter of seconds. The Vulture broke free of his restraints, and turned around to face the boat. "Breakout!" Spider-Man hollered from the deck above Alison. "Now would be a good time to get ready to fight!"
Alison nodded, looking at the ferry supplies around her. There was a chain nearby, perhaps that could be used to grab ahold of his gun. Taking ahold of the chain, and yanking it down in the process, Ali made a lasso like item out of the chain.
Swinging it around her head in a high loop, she latched the mini lasso onto the gun in the possession of the Vulture. "I've got the gun, Spidey! Now just web it up!" Alison's statement was quickly followed by a web appearing on the gun.
"Keep ahold of it!" Alison chided, watching Spider-Man slowly loose his footing, and fall straight into the pole. Eventually, the weapon was pried from the villain's grasp, and ended up clattering to the floor of the ferry.
Alison started to run over to grab it, but the weapon started firing randomly. Peter, or Spider-Man, hurried over and tried to put out the weapon's system as well.
"You're messing with things that you don't understand!" The Vulture warned, looking down at the two teenagers who were scrambling to stop the weapon.
By the time the weapon was smothered with Spider-Man's webs, the Vulture has begun to fly off, and the weapon stated to shoot beams everywhere, almost tearing the boat apart.
"And this is where we probably need backup." Alison looked around at the boat that was smoking around them, and slowly falling apart.
"Right now is when we definitely need backup." Peter agreed, starting to talk to Karen. He scrambled to put webs on all of the barriers, hurrying around the boat to try and keep it together.
Meanwhile, Alison was calmly taking out her phone and dialing a number. "Hi yes, Sky? Right now would be a great time for my gal in the chair to help me out. Uh yeah, me and Spider-Man kind of blew up a ship and I need your help."
