16|| peter knows spider-man!

"What makes you so special if you know Spider-Man?"

Midtown High School, October 2016-

Alison's mind was still buzzing from the night before. Her thoughts were up in the clouds, still thinking about what she had done.

"Put on your safety googles," Her chemistry teacher instructed, turning back to the board. "The chemicals we're using today are dangerous."

"Yeah," Tara peeked over at Alison. "Dangerous enough to bore you into not paying attention, huh Alison?" She waved her hand in front of Alison. "Hello?"

Ali looked up with a start, turning over to see Tara. "Uh yeah." She pulled the goggles over her eyes. "Sorry about that. Let's get to work." Alison nodded briskly.

The two girls began mixing together the substances. In front of them were two boys clustered together.

"Can you spit venom?" One of them asked. Ali recognized the voice as Ned.

"No Ned, no." Alison could hear someone, presumably Peter, mutter back to Ned.

"Spit venom?" Ali asked herself, curious. Who the hell could spit venom? She shook off the thought as mishearing it, and went back to measuring out the mixture she was creating, the comment still bugging her.

Not a few minutes later, Alison saw Ned turn his head back at Peter. "Can you summon an army of spiders?" He asked wistfully.

There it was again! Mentioning spiders and stuff. Were the two scheming to try and find out who Spider-Man was or something? Was one of them Spider-Man?

"Alison," Tara yelled sharply. "Are you still here? You keep zoning out." She turned up the Bunsen burner's flame.

"Yeah, yeah," Alison brushed off the comment yet again. "I'm totally fine. I'm just distracted today." She stirred the boiling blue chemical concoction.

Ali wasn't sure of what was going on, but she sure didn't like it. Something was up with those two dorks, and it wasn't right.

As the bell to the next class rang, the labs still not fully cleaned up, Alison grabbed her books and rushed up to meet Jess, who was leaving another science class.

"Hey-" she tapped Jess on the shoulder. "So I just heard Leeds ask Parker if he spits venom? And then he asked if he could summon spiders? Am I getting that sickness you got last week and I'm hallucinating?"

Jess laughed, pulling up to her locker. "You are definitely hallucinating. No one in their right mind would ever say that."

"You're right." Alison nodded, walking across the hall to place her books in her locker. "I must be going insane or something, huh?"

"Yeah," Jess agreed. "Insane from being stuck with rambling Parker in almost every one of your classes. I don't know what's worse- the fact that you're stuck with him 24/7- or that you could be getting sick."

"I think the first one's worse," Alison placed her binder and supplies in her locker, looking at Jess from across the hall. She grabbed her books for history.

Jess walked over to Alison from across the hall. "I think that's agreed upon. Now come on, I've got to get to English, and you've got history to do."

Alison was bored already. She had just walked into the classroom, and found that Skylar's seat next to her was empty. Yet again. This bug that was going around was really hitting hard.

When she had finally settled in, all some in the curved room, Ali had seen what had been scrawled out on the board.
"THE SOKOVIA ACCORDS"

Just great. Another topic that was off-limits for her to talk about. What side are you on? Who do you support? It was the debate that was tearing apart everyone, even small history classes like these.

Alison's teacher had walked into the room, and settled down on his podium. "The Sokovia Accords is our topic today." The teacher said blandly. "Although this isn't in our books yet, I thought I'd give you a little crash course on how they work."

Ali sat back in her seat. This was just fam freaking tastic. Another lecture on responsibility for your actions, even if it wasn't directed towards her.

"The Sokovia Accords were put into place after the Avengers were becoming too reckless, the prime example Lagos." The teacher stated, looking down at the papers he had gotten on the ordeal.

"How far can you shoot your webs?" Ned asked.

"I dunno man, shut up." Peter replied, whispering back over to Ned.

And there it was again! What was that boy rambling on about?

Alison stared at the two from her seat on the side of the classroom. And they thought that they were talking quietly.

"If I was you, I would stand at the edge of a building and just shoot it as far-" Ned began, thinking about doing it himself.

"Just shut up Ned!" Peter exclaimed, drawing the attention of all the kids around him. He looked almost embarrassed, and ducked his head back into his desk.

Alison gave a confused look at the boys, before turning back to the lesson. This day couldn't get any weirder.

The bell to leave class rang quickly, and Alison scrambled out of her seat. She wasn't sure of what was going on with those two boys, but she was pretty sure whatever it was wasn't good.

"Hi. I'm Captain America." Steve smiled through the vintage TV. "Whether you're in the classroom or on the field,

"Do you know him too?" Ned whispered to Peter, both all decked out in their PE uniforms.

"Yeah. We met." Peter dismissed quickly. "I stole his shield," He looked over at Ned proudly.

"My good friend, your gym teacher-" Cap gestured to the left, while the gym teacher was on the right of the TV, reaching his hand up. "Will be conducting the Captain America Fitness Challenge."

Alison, sitting behind the two boys was laughing right next to Jess. "Captain America does your fitness test?" She snorted, trying to keep ahold of her laughter.

"Yeah," Jess shrugged. "Midtown does things the old school way." She tried not to laugh beside her. "We still follow the old man."

"I would too," Alison shrugged. "That guy's pretty cool. If you've ever met him." She rushed out quickly, ending any questions.

"Thank you Captain," The gym teacher said, drawing the attention of the gym class. "Although I'm pretty sure this guy's a war criminal now, but whatever. I'm still supposed to show these videos they're required by the state. Let's do it." He blew his gym whistle shrilly.

"So-" Alison began her sit-ups at a rapid pace. "You know how I was talking about Peter and Ned talking about weird stuff ?"

"Yeah." Jess held her feet, as Alison was popping back up to face her. "What about it?"

"They've been doing it all day!" Alison kept doing her sit ups. "I don't think that I'm hallucinating."

"Good job Alison," The gym teacher looked over at Ali and her form. "Your form is great, keep it up."

Jess looked over at the gym teacher, and back at Alison, impressed. "Well, I think that they are just being dorks. Let them have their fun."

Alison laughed. "Alright Jess," She hopped up, grabbing Jess' hand. "Let's go take a break on the benches."

The two walked over to the other girls on the bleachers, catching them mid conversation. "For me it would be F- Thor, marry Iron Man, and kill Hulk. " Betty counted out on her hands.

"Hey girls," Liz smiled quietly. "Nice to see you."

Jess and Alison nodded politely, taking a seat with the other girls. "Well what about the Spider-Man?" Jess asked, interrupting the girl's game.

"It's just Spider-Man." Liz dismissed. "Have you seen the bank security cam on YouTube? He knocked out four guys!"

"Yeah, and that new girl kicked ass with him." Ali added in. "I think that she's pretty cool, huh?" Her cheeks flushed red. "Sorry for interrupting."

"It's totally fine." Betty dismissed the apology lightly. "You're right. It's nice to finally have a girl in this town showing who's boss. But I think Liz is crushing on Spider-Man." She teased.

Peter and Ned looked up at the girls with shock. Alison gave them a weird stare. Only now they were looking into their weird conversation?

"Do you Liz?" Another girl pressed the blushing Liz Allen.

"Kind of?" Liz questioned herself, her blush going deeper. "I dunno," she threw her hands up in exasperation.

"Dude, he could be like, 30." Betty looked at Liz weirdly. "That's gross."

"I don't think he's 30." Alison disagreed. "Have you listened to his voice? He sounds like a pubescent 15-year-old."

"But how do you know what he looks like?" Another girl argued. "He could be seriously burned."

"I wouldn't care," Liz shot back, "I would love him for the person he is on the inside." She tapped her heart to make her point.

"Oh my god, that's so cheesy." Alison laughed. "But it's so cute. I think you should go for him Liz." She put her hand on Liz's shoulder.

"Peter knows Spider-Man!" Ned exclaimed, rushing out the words quickly.

Peter looked back at Ned with a shocked expression, and then back at Liz and the rest of the group. The whole gym seemed to freeze up at the prospect that someone knew Spider-Man.

"Maybe that's why they were talking about those weird things." Alison whispered to Jess, semi breaking the silence.

"Yeah," Jess nodded back. The two then turned back to the commotion going on before them.

"Uh no I don't!" Peter rushed out. "Uh- I mean-"

"They're friends." Ned interrupted Peter's stutter, covering up the quiet boy.

Flash dropped off his rope he was climbing, walking towards the two boys. "Yeah, like Coach Wilson and Captain America are friend?" He teased.

"I-I've met him." Peter stuttered. "Yeah, a couple times." He said, slightly more confidently. "But it- it's um- through the Stark Internship."

Flash gave Peter a skeptical look. "Mhm." Peter continued. "Well I'm not supposed to really talk about it." He clenched his teeth, staring back at Ned.

"Well that's awesome." Flash said sarcastically. "Hey, you know what? Why don't you invite him to Liz's party? Right?" He looked over at Liz.

"Yeah, um, I'm having people over tonight." Liz looked over at Peter. "You're more than welcome to come. "

"Having a party?" Peter stuttered, still staring awkwardly over at Liz.

"Yeah," Flash interjected. "It's gonna be dope. You should totally invite your personal friend Spider-Man."

"Um-" Peter looked nervous, as if he was embarrassed about something.

"It's ok," Liz sighed, looking over at Peter. "I know you have the Stark Internship. You're way to busy for parties anyways, so." She continued sarcastically.

"Oh come on," Flash egged on the conversation. "He'll be there. Right Parker?"

The bell rang, ending the commotion. Alison walked past Peter. "You know Spider-Man?" She asked.

"Yeah, why?" Peter asked her cockily. "Got a problem with that?"

"Oh no." Alison shook her head, crossing her arms. "Are you crazy? I was just wondering how the hell a small kid like you could know such a big star." She shrugged. "And hey, if you ever find your friend Spider-Man, ask him about that new chic Breakout for me, will ya?"

"Alison!" Jess hollered. "Time to go." She nodded towards the girls locker room.

"Anyways," Alison turned towards Peter. "See you and your web-slinging friend around Parker."
