07|| the fight of a lifetime
"And this is when I start to freak out and piss my pants at the same time. Just kidding, I'd probably just scream."
Germany Airport, April 2016-
"Suit up," Ali muttered to herself, looking at the surrounding superheroes. "How an I supposed to suit up?" All of them were walking towards their designated modes of transport, so Alison just straggled along behind Wanda.
Once everyone had grabbed their superhero garb, the seven lingered by the back of the van, waiting for the chance to change. Surprisingly enough, superheroes still had to change into their uniforms, even if they hated admitting they did.
"Here," Steve, already in his suit, delicately handed her a folded black catsuit, with refined red lines outlining the suit, giving it a slight pop. "Sharon gave it to me, just in case we had an extra member. I had no idea why, but now I realize she might have because she knew you were coming."
"That was my doing!" Clint hollered proudly. "Told Sharon about Alison and to bring an extra suit, I mean." He muttered sheepishly. The statement was so out of the ordinary for the serious man, that Alison gave out a small laugh.
"That man is so unpredictable," Alison sighed, earning a small chuckle from Steve. "Thanks," she replied fondly to Steve, taking the uniform. "Now I won't have to go out in a floral dress smelling slightly of alcohol and a tight leather jacket."
Wanda hopped out of the van, nodding at Alison. "Your turn, now get out of that nasty outfit." Crinkling her nose from the smell, she pulled her fingerless gloves on, finalizing the last bit of her outfit. "Come on, we don't have all day."
Alison gave her a quick nod, and hopped into the van. She struggled getting the suit on, as it was so tight. She eventually got out of the van, the temporary suit on. Alison nervously crossed her arms in front of her chest, her cheeks flushed a tiny bit red. Ali's hair was pulled back into a high ponytail, out of the way for when she had to fight.
"Whatcha hiding under there?" Wanda gestured to her crossed arms, teasing the girl. Wanda was comfortable in her outfit, clearly used to the outfit on her. It wasn't as comfortable as the one she had worn in Sokovia, but it would suffice for. the battle ahead.
"It shows my cleavage." Alison admitted embarrassingly, dropping her arms down to her sides. While the catsuit did do a little of exposing her cleavage, it didn't seem as bad as the girl said it was.
Wanda chuckled, and patted her on the back. "Be grateful you have some. I have to wear a corset to push my already small ones up. But look on the bright side. Now you can look semi-sexy and still kick ass. Besides, it just looks like you're wearing a copy of the Black Widow suit. Doesn't look too bad."
The two shared a laugh, as Clint, the last one dressing out, finally got out of the van. "Wanda and Ali stay with me." He said, pulling out his bow and slinging his quiver of arrows across his back. "I don't want either of you to get hurt, you guys are my responsibility today. I don't want either of you to leave my side."
"Geez," Alison replied, shifting her position as if to get used to her new attire. In truth, it wasn't that bad, compared to some of the dresses and rompers she owned. "I'm fifteen, not two. I can take care of myself. It's not like I don't know how to fight or anything."
"Same here." Wanda agreed, looking at Alison for a quick moment. "Except I'm eighteen." She added, earning a small smile and a shake of her head from Alison.
Clint sighed, grabbing his final belongings (aka his phone and a picture of his three kids and his wife, with another of a 16 year old kid) he needed from the back of the car. "But if I lost either of you, it would be on me. You guys stay with me."
"Fine." Ali and Wanda grumbled, each rolling their eyes at each other. It seemed that the two girls weren't so different after all, and that they both hated being babied. "But if anything goes wrong, you can bet that I'm going to the Star Spangled Man With A Plan." Alison added, giving Clint a pointed look.
Clint responded with a roll of his eyes, quickly falling back in line as Steve seemed to be ready to start. "Alright gang," Steve called everyone's attention, taking his shield from the back of the blue punch bug. "Let's go."
Alison, Clint, and Wanda were watching from up on a deck while Steve did a heroic slow walk out to the tar mac. "Everyone in position?" Sam asked, pressing into his comm. There was no one in sight yet, but everyone was sure that that was about to change.
"Maximoff, Marnell, and I are good." Clint spoke into the comm, glancing at the two girls beside him. Alison was still fidgeting with her comm, trying to figure out a comfortable position for it. Wanda was laughing at her trials and tribulations, reassuring Alison that she had this happen when she first joined the Avengers.
"And we're clear." Bucky replied, casually walking inside of the airport's terminal with Sam Wilson by his side. "Nothing to see over here yet." His eyes were darting from side to side, as if he was constantly uneasy about something. It was probably the fact he could turn into a mindless serial killer at anytime that made him uneasy.
"Then let's get this show on the road." Ali muttered, waiting for the legend Tony Stark to fly out of no where, with some heroes obviously in tow with him. When crashing a superhero party, always bring some friends with you, right?
Steve started to walk out towards the chopper, when a small mechanical device flew onto the back of the chopper and fried its circuits. Alison looked up, and saw two suits flying down from the sky- Iron Man in his red and gold glory, along with War Machine. "Holy crap." She whispered in awe, realizing that freakin Iron Man was a few hundred feet below her.
The two landed across from Steve, Iron Man's mask flying off to reveal Tony's face. "Wow, it is so weird how you run into people at the airport. Don't you think that's weird?" Tony asked Rhodey, a clearly pissed off expression donning the billionaire's face.
"Definitely weird," Rhodey agreed, his voice projecting out from inside of his War Machine mask. His voice could only be heard with a hint of amusement, nothing more and nothing else detected in the war hero's tone.
"Hear me out Tony," Cap requested, "That doctor, the psychiatrist, he's behind all of this." Steve wasn't sure if his friend would be lenient enough to listen, but he seemed like he would sure try to convince his friend to see his side.
Suddenly, a man in a black panther suit jumped out from behind an airplane loader, commanding the presence of everyone around him, almost like a king. Steve turned to stare at him, almost as if he was expecting for the new hero to be here. Maybe the two had past experience?
"Captain," The man in the panther suit nodded in a greeting, his words laced with a hint of venom. The man stood up gracefully from his crouched landing position, as gracefully as a cat would.
"Your highness," Steve greeted back, unsure of what else to say. It wasn't as if this was a normal way to meet someone, but a hostile hello from past experiences. His position changed, more protective in stance and gripping his shield even tighter than before.
"Your highness?" Ali whispered, her face looking at the man below in shock. "As in, your highness, your highness? A king?" Her mind suddenly went to how badly this would go if they were facing a freaking king and this went south.
"Shh." Clint tried to quiet Alison, pulling a hand over her mouth loosely, reaching across Wanda to silence the girl. "I need to listen to this." Alison pushed his hand away as quickly as he placed his hand over her mouth.
"Anyway," Tony continued, tilting his head in a classic Tony Stark manner. "Ross gave me 36 hours to bring you in. That was 24 hours ago. Can you help a brother out?"
"You're after the wrong guy." Steve smoothly rejected the offer, a small and unnoticeable smile forming on his face. Steve wasn't backing down anytime soon, that was for sure.
"Your judgement is askew." Tony spat out in disgust. "Your old war buddy killed innocent people yesterday." His expression was one of disappointment and sadness, as if this was something he didn't want to do but he had to.
"And there are five more super soldiers just like him." Steve fired back, proving his point to his friend. Steve clearly wanted his friend to join him, and not fight him. "I can't let the doctor find them first Tony, I can't."
"Steve.." A bold redhead, Alison assumed it was Natasha Romanoff, yeah, it was most definitely Natasha Romanoff from Clint's reaction to her walking onto the tarmac, walked up behind Tony. "You know what's about to happen. Do you really want to punch your way out of this one?" She questioned.
Steve turned back to face Tony, staring at him for a few straight seconds in silence, the quiet of the airport almost awkward. "Alright," Tony sighed. "I've run out of patience. Underoos!" His hands came to his mouth, as close as they could be together with his Iron Man outfit.
A slinging noise could be heard from ahead, and another hero swung his way over to Tony, locking Cap's shield in a web along the way. The webs caught onto Steve's hands locking them together. Sticking the landing, Alison could see that it was a hero donned in red and blue, spider web designs throughout the supersuit.
"Nice job kid." Tony complimented the spider-like dude. His face shifted to one of relief rather than one of disapproval at Steve. Letting his arms fall back down to the side, Tony gave a breath of relief.
"Thanks. I could've stuck the landing a little better, it's just new suit- wait, it's nothing Mr. Stark, it-it's perfect, thank you." The spider super hero stuttered. The hero was obviously a newbie, and it was showing. Then again, Alison was a newcomer as well, and she couldn't blame the guy for being nervous.
"Yeah, we don't really need to start a conversation." Tony gestured to the kid, hinting for the kid to stop talking. It was an awkward encounter, that was for sure.
"Okay." The spider superhero nodded. "Cap. Captain." The hero saluted Captain America, really excited to even be in the presence of superheroes. "Big fan. I'm Spider-Man." His voice wavered, hinting to everyone that he was probably a young kid.
Alison snorted with laughter, hearing his voice slightly crack. "Oh my god, that kid is such a dork." She had to cover her mouth lightly to keep herself from cracking up any further.
"Yeah, we'll talk about it later." Tony told Spider-Man, gesturing a hand over to the kid. Just... good job." The kid was clearly distracting Tony from the task at hand, and Tony wasn't having that much fun rambling away.
"Hey everyone," Spider-Man said smoothly, regaining some sense of confidence. He recovered from the awkward conversation that was clearly a tad embarrassing.
"You've been busy." Steve remarked with a smile. The man had been too, but he wasn't about to reveal such things to Tony. After all, it would just mean more trouble for everyone involved.
"And you've been a complete idiot." Tony snapped back. "Dragging in Clint, 'rescuing' Wanda from a place she doesn't even want to leave, a safe place. God knows what else you did. I'm trying to keep..." He looked nervous as he said the next words. "I'm trying to keep you from tearing the Avengers apart."
"You did that when you signed." Steve replied with a slight frown. It was the truth, so to speak, and it seemed as if Tony agreed, but was too scared to admit such a fact.
"And that-" Alison said from a higher look, pretending to be a sports reporter as she spoke her next words. "Is what we call a roast kids." An unmistakable smile was plastered on her face, as if she was having way too much fun with the whole ordeal.
"Shut up Alison." Clint muttered, shaking his head. The duties of a father never ceased, even on the battlefield. Escaping teenagers and kids never seemed to work for the ex-SHIELD agent, or even making them quiet didn't work.
"Alright we're done." Tony replied, clearly impatient, "You're gonna turn Barnes over and you're come with us, now, cause it's us, or a squad of J-SOC guys with no compunction about being impolite." He pauses for a dramatic flair. "Come on," Tony whispered.
"We found it," Sam talked over the comm, looking through the eyes of his little robot Redwing. "Their quinjet's in hangar five, north runway." The little robot zeroed in on the final location of the quinjet.
The next events happened within seconds. Steve's face hardened, and he raised his arms above his head. Clint notched and arrow into his bow, locking it in. He released the arrow, the sharp tip puncturing the webs around Cap's hands.
Tony turned around, his Iron Man mask closing in around his head. He was suddenly aware that now there were more parties at play than he wanted.
"Alright Lang," Steve acknowledged the small Scott on Cap's shield. The little hero stood up on the shield, clanking around a little bit before getting into position.
"Hey guys- something- !" Spider-Man remarked, before Ant Man grew to size, licking the hero square in the face. There was a grunt- from who, Alison had no clue, as Scott flipped back over to be side by side with Steve.
"Whoa, Wha-what the hell was that?" Rhodes questioned, his eyes darting around his suit. The heroes on the opposite side clearly didn't expect that Steve had brought anyone more than Clint, Sam, Wanda, and Bucky.
"I believe this is yours, Captain America," Scott handed the shield back to Steve. There was a glint of pride in Scott's eyes, and a giddy tone in his voice as Steve took the shield back from Scott.
"Oh great," Tony muttered, starting to look around for extra heroes hidden around the airport. "All right, there's three on the parking deck. One of them's Maximoff. I'm gonna grab her. Rhodey, you wanna take Cap?" He questioned, knowing that his friend was up for the challenge.
"Got two in the terminal," Rhodey added, picking up on their heat signatures. Their outlined bodies ran through the terminal, clearly realizing that the battle had begun. "Wilson and Barnes."
"Barnes is mine!" Black Panther ran off towards the terminal, ready to exact revenge on the man who had killed his father. His vibranium claws were unsheathed, ready to injure or kill Barnes at any moment.
Cap threw his shield at War Machine, the shield hitting its mark in the center of the suit's arc reactor. Within seconds, the shield bounced back to Steve, who caught it with a jump, overestimating the angle that the shield would bounce off the suit with.
"Hey Mr. Stark what should I do?" Spider-Man questioned, cocking his head to the side. The boy was still getting used to the comm as well, although he couldn't adjust his as easily as Alison could.
"What we discussed," Tony said through gritted teeth, looking at all of the flashing lights inside of his suit. F.R.I.D.A.Y. was informing him of many things, all of the lights around him almost distracting him. "Keep your distance, web 'em up."
"Ok, copy that," Spider-Man slung off in a different direction, latching onto an airport device. He whistled through the wind, trying to keep up with all of the chaos around him.
Steve threw his shield at the Black Panther engaging him into a fight of his own. Ant Man also started to pick a fight with Black Widow, shrinking down to a miniature size to take her on. The two seemed to have their hands full, and Alison was fixated on the fighting going on below.
Clint grabbed Alison and Wanda, dragging them down the parking deck's flights of stairs. "Hey!" Ali screeched. "Where are we going?" Stairway after stairway they climbed down, running through at least 5 flights of stairs in a hurry.
"Down," Clint tersely replied, running down towards the concrete and destruction below. Taking his bow and gripping it even more firmly in his hand, the three burst out of the stairway door, the sunlight beaming down into their eyes.
"Well no shit Sherlock," Alison shot back, unsure of what else to say. She was too overwhelmed at the moment to even comprehend everything down below. When she was watching with a bird's eye view, everything was much clearer. Now, it was much harder to see everything around her.
"Just shut up, and stop being an smart aleck for one second okay?" Clint asked Ali, trying to focus on the situation at hand. He had to make sure that the three made it out to defend Cap, and not get injured in any way, shape, or form in the process.
"Fine." Alison muttered, not even trying to rebel at this point. If she was going to stay alive or even make it through this battle, she had to trust Clint, and whatever he was doing. Even if Alison didn't agree with it at this point.
They make it out further onto the tar Mac, when suddenly Iron Man came swooping down in front of them. Missiles fired all around them, and Clint bent down, shielding the two girls from debris.
Tony leveled out in front of them. "Wanda," he began, a teasing tone evident in his voice, while also trying to scold the poor girl. "I think you hurt Vision's feelings." His face was devoid of any expression, but Alison could imagine there was a snarky Stark smile beneath the mask.
"You locked me in my room." Wanda snapped back, cocking her head towards Tony. Hostility was evident in her voice, and a slight bit of fake shock was as well. She was still a little insulted that Tony didn't trust her enough, and had locked her away in a huge facility.
"Ok first, that's an exaggeration. Second, I did it to protect you." Tony replied smoothly, giving ample excuses to the three below him. While Tony was sure that these were proper excuses, he earned a scoff from both the girls.
Wanda raised an eyebrow, and Clint held steady to his bow, ready to fire at will. Alison just stood firm beside them, shaking her head with disbelief. Telling a girl that locking them in their room was for protection never went over well. Her cousin (and guardian) had tried doing that a few times, and it had only made Alison that much more mad.
"Who's the newbie?" Tony asked, curious as to who the girl was. She was a teenager, and one that would probably not be fit to fight in this battle as the rest of them. Then again, he had just brought in a new teenager himself.
"And that's none of your concern." Alison fired back at Tony, arching her eyebrow at him. Her arms were casually crossed, a smirk smile on her face. If this was what superhero battles were like, then Alison could get used to this. "After all, it sounds like you just brought on a newbie to your team as well."
"One with attitude, eh? Surprising. Normally Steve and then can't handle that. You remind me of Pepper's secretary- Jackie. Although she's more quiet. The facial structure- that's what makes me believe that you remind me of her. The jawline." Tony rambled, not even caring that the banter wasn't appropriate at this time. "Any relation?" He asked, holding up his hand with a repulser noise at the ready.
Alison's mind had a million thoughts flash through it, before quickly brushing the ideas out of her head. She wouldn't let a cocky man like Tony Stark distract her from what she had to focus on- which was basically not straying from Clint. "Nope." She lied smoothly, shaking her head. "None."
"Ah well, it was worth a try." Tony then turned to the next person over, giving a shrug. "Hey Clint," He greeted, shrugging his shoulders as he did so. His position of holding out a palm towards the three didn't change as he spoke.
"Hey man." Clint nodded back, loosening the grip on his bow ever so slightly. If he was about to start using his bow, it had to be easily accessible and not stuck to his grasp in the same tense position.
"Clearly retirement doesn't suit you." Tony said snidely, a bit of laughter in his eyes (although no one could see them). "You got tired of shooting golf?" He asked, assuming that was what Clint had been doing when he was "retired."
"Well," Clint began, "I played 18, shot 18. Just can't seem to miss." He quickly pulled back his bow and shot off three arrows at once, firing off into different directions. Tony immediately fired them all down with his blasters. He quickly turned back to Clint.
"Well, first time for everything," Tony replied, sounding a little sympathetic. His voice reverberated through the small area, but was quickly blocked out by the slight rumbling of cars. Alison smirked, as she knew exactly what that sound meant.
"Made you look," Clint smirked. The plan the three had made earlier- one can never be too careful!- just in case they got ambushed was going to work perfectly in this circumstance. Wanda's magic came in at perfect timing, Alison rushing Clint out of the way as cars that Ali set up on the edge of the parking deck rained down on Tony. He tried to blast all the cars away, but ultimately failed, and was crushed under the weight of them.
"Multiple contusions detected," F.R.I.D.A.Y.'s voice chimed over Tony's suit, flashes of red blaring all around the tech. "Yeah I detected that too," Tony muttered to F.R.I.D.A.Y., clearly under some amount of pain.
Alison and Wanda gave each other a small high five, and Clint smiled at the two's teamwork. The three were pretty compatible, even if Alison wouldn't shut up, and Wanda egged her on by laughing at her remarks. "That was easier than expected." Alison huffed, brushing off a few dust and gravel pieces from her super suit.
"Well, it's about to get a lot harder," Clint disagreed, issuing a warning. "Cause we're not going to be facing just one of them anymore. We might have to face all of them at once." He grabbed an arrow from his quiver, naturally notching his bow.
Not even a minute later, an explosion of a truck occurs behind them, and a small "Alright, now I'm pissed," could be heard from Rhodes. The man came out unharmed, of course, but his ego was probably a little bit damaged.
A few feet away, Tony helped Nat up. At the moment, Alison could only wonder how Tony had recovered from their parking garage ambush so fast. "Is this part of the plan?" Natasha asked, hopping back up to her feet.
"Well, my plan was go easy on em. They have two more than expected though. You wanna switch it up?" Tony asked the redhead. Their tactic clearly wasn't working, and so Natasha gave Tony a small yet firm nod.
Clint, Wanda, and Alison, way ahead of the other two, come running into the main area, Clint pointing out the quinjet. "There's our ride." Soon Cap and Ant Man joined the sprinting heroes, Barnes and Sam following close behind.
"Come on!" Cap motioned for everyone to hurry on over to him. Alison caught up to speed with him at the front, giving him a small nod. He smiled at the girl, and giving her a nod back. Halfway to the hangar, a laser beam pierces the air in front of the team.
"And what the hell was that?" Ali asked, squinting her eyes in the sunlight, trying to figure out what shot the laser beam that blocked their path to the quintet. The next moment, a human figure drifted in, blocking her view of the sun as he floated down.
"Vision," Clint answered her question, "That little son of a bitch." He shook his head, as if he was hoping that the red android didn't come and involve himself in this fight. "Wanda, your boyfriend's here!" He teased, earning a scoff of annoyance from Wanda,
"Captain Rogers," Vision said in a heroic and formal voice, "I know you believe what you're going is right. But for the collective good, you must surrender now," he pleaded. The rest of Team Iron Man, flew in and stood by Vision.
"That can't be good," Alison muttered, watching all of them line up in front of them. "Especially if that android is helping them out. He's shooting freaking laser beams from his forehead!" She exclaimed, throwing a hand out at the android.
"No, it cannot," Lang agreed, giving a small chuckle at Alison's wide gesture. "But we can face it, I'm sure of it." He reassured, offering Alison a small fist bump, as he was lined up right next to her. Alison fist bumped him back, giving a small genuine smile to Scott.
"What do we do Cap?" Sam asked, looking over at Steve for guidance. His eyes hardened as he glanced over at the other side for a quick moment. Turning his head back to Steve, he waited for the World War II veteran to give him his orders.
Steve's eyes focused on the other side as he came to a decision. "We fight." He started to walk forward, the rest of the team following suit. Alison kept up with them, not even using her super speed during the battle at the moment. She was anxious to use her powers, and not just stand around and banter (although she did kind of enjoy that).
From the other side, Natasha turned her head to the side, beginning to advance with the rest of Team Iron Man. They matched the pace of the other side, Team Cap, their paths heading straight towards each other.
"They're not stopping," Spider-Man pointed out nervously, looking over at Tony. He seemed like he wanted to bail at the final moment, but his morals wouldn't let him. His voice seemed to waver with every word that he spoke.
"Neither are we," Tony replied, starting to prep his thrusters in his boots for take-off. The familiar sound of a repulser beam echoed throughout the airport as he and War Machine took off the ground.
"And here we go," Alison muttered, running towards the other side with full normal speed. "Let's do this thing."
The two teams stared at each other with cold eyes , before walking towards the empty center. The flyers in both sides begin to take to the air, the rest running towards each other. Alison could feel the tension in the air, and it was probably about to explode.
When the two teams collided, Alison zoomed past everyone else, joining Wanda on taking the Spider-Man. "You get him on the ground," Wanda nodded to Alison, making the spider-dude fly through the air on airplane debris. The yell of the hero could be heard as he was trying to dodge all of the incoming pieces around him.
"Will do," she smiled, watching the hero fall to the ground, speedily knocking him around, and throwing a few punches at him. Verbal grunts were issued between the two, Spider-Man blocking the punches a few times. Alison threw him back up to Wanda, quickly getting done with her job of trying to knock him off his balance. "I think you got him though."
"Thanks," Wanda gritted her teeth in concentration. "Just cover my back, I don't want someone like Tony to come up and scare the living hell out of me." The red energy spewing from her hands as the debris floated around her.
Alison nodded, placing her back to Wanda. "I'm not sure what good I'll do on the ground, but I can most definitely watch your back for the time being." Rapidly, Clint came to their rescue and shot a few arrows to throw the kid off of his balance even further. "Nice of you to join the party." Alison remarked, giving the man a coy smile. "Didn't think that you would make it."
"I did, and I brought some chips and guac." Clint threw the remark back in her face. "Where do you want them?" With another few arrows, Clint found that the boy wasn't going to be knocked off of his balance. "How the hell is he even doing this?"
"He must have some personal trainer or something," Alison replied, blatantly, throwing a quick hand up at the superhero drifting above them. "Cause no one can stay that balanced except with a personal trainer. I should ask him which one he uses." She mused, actually imagining for a second what a strange sight it would be to see a person dressed up in a superset taking personal trainer lessons.
"Not the time Alison," Clint scolded, moving on to face-off Natasha. His sidestep to fight his closest friend in the Avengers was so smooth that Ali and Wanda couldn't even really recognize the fact that Clint had already left them. His bow quickly transitioned to a staff as he was flipped to the ground by the Red Room graduate.
"We're still friends right?" Natasha checked with Clint, as she was lying on her back on the concrete. Her face was one of irritation and what looked like constipation (it really wasn't, it was more of an uncomfortable position face)
"Depends on how hard you hit me." Clint shot back, quirking an eyebrow. It truly looked like neither wanted to hurt the other, but their opposing sides declared it so.
Natasha gave a small look of interest as she popped back up from the concrete, throwing Clint to the ground. They stared at each other for a few seconds, giving time for Clint to prepare his next move. He popped back up quickly, but not before Natasha set up a hard kick to the face. Bracing for the harsh kick, Clint shut his eyes with a squint.
Ali's eyes widened as she saw the occurrence, and sped Clint off into the distance, Wanda throwing Natasha into a cargo cart with her magic. "You were pulling your punches." Wanda remarked with a smile over the comm, taking a few steps away to the next person who needed to be helped in their own side battle.
"Never thought I would come and save you, huh?" Alison teased with a smile, ruffling Clint's hair. Clint just gave her an annoyed and pointed look, gesturing for her to get them back. Alison obliged, racing them back over to Wanda, who gave her a laugh.
"Let's go," Clint motioned to the two girls, seeing some other people from the opposing side start to approach them. "We have to go." He grabbed Alison's hand, starting to drag her away. Clint knew that Wanda would catch up, or find another person to help at this point.
Wanda saw Barnes and Black Panther engaging in a battle, clearly trying to talk while fighting each other. "I'm going to go give Barnes back up." She told Clint, running over to help out Bucky and stop the Black Panther and king.
Alison saw Steve fighting with the Spider-Man, or at least starting to engage in a battle with the small hero. "And I'm gonna go help Steve. He looks like he needs help with that spider-twerp." She pointed over at Steve, who had just thrown his shield at the spider-ling.
Clint nodded at Alison, letting go of his loose grip on her arm. "You've gotta listen to Cap, and make sure that you don't do anything stupid." He warned, giving her his formidable dad look. "Cap?" He spoke over the comm, unsure if the Captain could hear him. "You're gonna have incoming in about 15 seconds." Glancing over at Alison, the girl offered him a thumbs up, and raced over to Steve's general area."
"That thing doesn't obey the laws of physics at all," Alison heard the Spider-Man remark, cocking his head in a way that only Tony Stark could teach a teenager how to do. Alison didn't know if Tony had any kids, but she was very grateful that she didn't know about one at the moment.
"Look kid, there's a lot going on here that you won't understand." Steve began, trying to warn the kid of the upcoming cautions if he and his team wasn't allowed to leave and, basically, save the universe. Well, not the universe, but most of the countries of the world.
"Mr Stark said you'd say that." The hero's eyes slanted, an unsurprised tone in his voice. "Wow." Spider-Man slung out a web, and Alison's eyes widened. Steve held up his shield for protection, but Alison reacted quicker than any other person could.
"On your left!" Alison screeched, super speeding over, and knocking Steve out of the way. She got caught in the web-slinger's web solution, squirming for a few seconds. "Well this is an uncomfortable situation." Alison muttered to herself, almost chuckling at the fact that she had (kind of) saved Captain America.
Steve looked surprised, the girl taking a bullet for him, except in the form of a weird type of web solution. "You think you got this?" He asked, adjusting his shield back into its proper place. His eyes were filled with pride at the girl, and he was impressed, to say the least. A girl who had no desire to be here still had his back through all of this.
"I think I'm fine." Alison smiled, gesturing with her head towards the heat of the battle. "Go to Bucky. You guys need to stick together. I'll handle this twerp. He can't be all too bad to handle, right?" She reassured him, and herself at the same time.
Steve nodded, offering his thanks. Breaking out into a run, he headed in the direction towards Bucky, and the huge crashes from missiles and reactor lasers. The flyers above him tried to throw a few missiles and shots of reactor laser at him, but he had his shield to protect him.
"Come on man!" The Spider-Man sighed, throwing up his hands. "That was my one chance to be cool with Captain America." He seemed slightly mad at Alison and also a little embarrassed that she ruined his big moment. His eyes scanned over the girl, looking at the girl and her Black Widow-esque look.
"Sorry I'm a disappointment." Alison fired back, remembering for the first time that she had the ability to basically talk to another kid (and roast the hell out of them). "You can't be a fangirl to your favorite superhero. But you're stuck with me." She struggled in the webs to give the hero a finger, and when she failed, Ali offered her classic sarcastic frown.
"Don't frown at me!" He sounded offended, his cheeks flushing red underneath his super suit. "And I was not going to fangirl over-" The Spider-Man stuttered, trying to find an ample excuse to why he wasn't fangirling over Captain America.
"You were." Alison interrupted, shaking her head with a laugh. "Oh my goodness, you were so badly. What were you expecting, a picture perfect exchange about your hobbies or where you live or something? That's besides the point, I need to-" Ali used her super speed to phase out of the Spider-Man's webs. "Go help my people. Can't have fanboys like you trying to drool all over them." She started to walk away.
"Uh no you don't." Spider-Man corrected, using a smart aleck voice. He threw a web strand in front of her, it connecting with the airport loader right across from where he was crouching. "You don't just get to walk away from a conversation like that!"
"Yeah I do." Alison shot back, thinking of the perfect comeback. "You know what? You sound like one of those Midtown High students." She tugged on her high ponytail, thinking of something else to add onto what she was saying. "Those kids are either super smart but with personalities like a rock or actually crazy people. I think you fall into that first category." Ali punched the boy straight in the jaw and zoomed away, and back to where Clint was.
The Spider-Man was left in a sputtering mess, as Alison had mentioned his high school without even realizing that was where he went to school. "Come back!" He hollered, "You don't finish a conversation like that!!"
Alison sped back over to Clint, laughing her face off. As she stopped, Alison bent down, panting and laughing at the very same time. "That-that was priceless." She giggled, thinking of the perfect conversation and take down of the Spider-Man.
"Not the time Alison." Clint gritted his teeth in concentration, trying to draw Iron Man out. His bow was notched and ready, firing a few rounds at Iron Man, while the hero above them was blasting the arrows away easily.
"Wait..." Ali looked around at the battle going on, recognizing one person was not around the chaos. "Where Lang?" Her eyes squinted, trying to find the hero, assuming that the man was in his shrunken size.
Iron Man's suit suddenly began to power down, the arc lasers not working anymore. Throwing his arm around, Tony started to question F.R.I.D.A.Y. inside of his suit. "Oh," Alison smiled, realizing where the man was. "He's in there."
Clint pulled her out of the way of Tony, afraid she was going to be hit by one of the stray arc reactors that could spurt out of his palms. "Come on, we got to go." A mini Ant Man flew out of Tony's suit, extinguished out of the internal core of his unit.
"We got to go, that guy's probably in Siberia by now. " Barnes blatantly stated over the comm, staring over at Steve. Steve nodded, thinking of the exact same thing. Both of them were hiding behind one of the baggage trucks, hiding from the flyers.
"We gotta draw out the flyers," Steve planned, thinking of the strategy that would best suit the group. "I'll take Vision, you get to the jet." He looked above the trucks, trying to spot all of the fellow members of his team.
"No," Sam spoke over the comm for the almost first time, flying in the air. He dodged some of the missiles, distracting Iron Man, War Machine, and Vision. "You get to the jet! Both of you! The rest of us aren't getting out of here."
Clint ran off of the edge of an airport loader, doing an intricate flip. He shot off an arrow out of his bow. "As much as I hate to admit it," Clint agreed, "If we're gonna win this one, some of us might have to lose it." He had just narrowly missed a shot the War Machine had taken at him.
Alison landed on the cart with Clint, watching the blast, having it skim the last bit of her arm. "Oof," She grunted, checking to see that the fabric of the suit was burned, along with a small portion of her sidearm. "The two have got a point Cap."
"This isn't the real fight Steve." Sam continued, flying around the airport. His voice sounded like he was struggling to shake someone off. He was, as he was trying to outfly War Machine, who had caught onto him a few minutes before.
"Alright Sam," Steve reluctantly said, looking over at Bucky another time. The two were ready for whatever would happen, or so it seemed. "What's the play?" He asked, looking up at the sky for guidance from his friend.
"We need a diversion. Something big." Sam decided, hollering over all of the noise around him. He dove underneath a loading dock, War Machine still hot on his trail. Doing another small flip, Falcon narrowly missed a few rounds fired at him.
"I've got something kinda big!" Scott said excitedly, recalling the use of his suit he had in mind."But I can't hold it very long." He added, running across what looked like a small grate in the back of a truck. "On my signal, run like hell, and if I tear myself in half don't come back for me."
"He's gonna tear himself in half?" Bucky questioned, confused. What did the man mean by taring himself in half? He knew it could mean something really good for the team, but really bad for Scott and the other team.
"You sure about this Scott?" Steve asked uneasily. Steve didn't want anyone to do anything that would really harm anyone in any way, shape or form. But if Scott was up for it, Cap couldn't really stop him....
"I do it all the time." Scott replied smoothly. "I mean once, in a lab. Then I passed out." His voice wavered a little, obviously nervous. "I'm the boss, I'm the boss, I'm the boss, I'm the boss!" He grunted, making his tiny way to War Machine's back. Scott programmed a little pad on his arm. He then pushed a button on his hand, making him huge in size. Lang laughed in surprise and shock, realizing that he had actually done it.
"Holy shit!" Spider-Man yelped, surprised. His hands were placed above his head in shock, still trying to run towards the next part of the huge battle around him. He stumbled a little as he ran off, trying to avoid the huge blocks of debris being thrown around the airport.
"Okay," Rhodes looked surprised, all off his lights in his mask indicating the there was now an obstacle in the way of his flight path, blocking him from flying. "Tiny dude is big now, he's big now." He had been caught in Ant-Man, or Giant Man's grasp, and he was being flailed around like an action toy figure.
"I guess that's the signal," Steve said, completely dumbfounded by the events that had just occurred in front of him. Ant-Man had just grown to colossal size in seconds, and no one had any clue on how to react.
"Way to go Lang!" Alison whooped, Sam joining her congratulations in surprise. The team would be able to move quickly over to the quintet, with less distractions now that the main flyers on Team Iron Man were being handled by Scott.
"Give me back my Rhodey," Tony commanded. Sam then kicked Tony in his flying face, making Iron Man spiral out of control. Lang threw Rhodes off into the distance, Spider-Man latching onto the flailing war veteran. The other side was in shambles at the moment, trying to get themselves together from the shock of Giant Man.
Ant Man pushed a bus over towards Black Panther, crushing half of the bus in the process. The transport began flying towards the Black Panther, but Vision deflected the bus, making it slice in two with his laser beams.
"Can anyone tell me how many powers the red dude has?" Alison asked, exasperated. The android was a lot to handle, and her burn on her arm was making her quite snappy. "Because if anyone has any clue, it would be nice to inform me."
Sam laughed at the girl's remark, giving her a short answer to her question. "Too many, it seems. I'm not even sure that Tony has a clue, and Tony made the android. You'd probably have to ask Steve or Clint, they'd know."
Giant Man, realizing that Sam was fighting off Iron Man as he spoke to Alison, started to tare off a whole wing off of an airplane. Using some of his might, Giant Man waved the airport wing in the air, trying to knock Iron Man off of his course. When eh did so, Scott threw the airplane wing towards Iron Man.
"Okay, anyone on our side have any shocking and fantastic abilities they'd like to disclose? I'm open to suggestions." Tony asked sarcastically, really needing an extra boost from his side after getting beaten up, and badly at that.
Black Panther walked up to Giant Man, once again, trying to get to Bucky and Steve. "You wanna get to them?" Scott asked, hostility evident in his voice. "You gotta go through me." Giant Man tore up everything in his path, grabbing a few airport buggies and loading docks as he did so.
Missiles tore up Scott's huge suit, War Machine coming in on cue, Spider-Man trailing beside him. The Spider-Man latched onto Giant Man, trying to find some way to knock him down. War Machine was right behind him, trying to distract him with weapons and a sonic call. Wreckage from Giant Man blocking the attacks and bullet casings clattered to the ground, causing more debris to be everywhere.
Below Lang was in a feud between Clint and the Black Panther, the two having some careless banter. The fighting went back and forth between the two, but Clint was eventually knocked to the ground. The panther eventually won, and ran off towards the direction of Steve and Bucky.
Wanda and Alison were down below, covering Steve and Bucky, who were running towards the quinjet. The girls' goal was to make sure that they made it the entire way, and not be thrown off course by Vision or anyone from the other side. War Machine flew towards the two escapees, and tried to catch up to them as quickly as he could. Wanda threw some debris at him from the mess Giant Man was making, knocking him to the ground temporarily.
Vision joined the fray of trying to take down Giant Man, buckling the huge hero at his knees. The android saw Barnes and Rogers running into the hangar, and flew through Lang. "Something just flew in me!" Scott exclaimed, flustered by the weirdness of having something fly through you.
Vision, quickly making it through the large hero, decided to take action, a very unpleasant and grump frown on his face. He inspected the area around him, trying to find the prefect way to stop Steve and Bucky . Vision found the perfect target, and quickly burned a laser through the watchtower nearby.
The tower began to crumble and fall, the two heroes (and fugitives) picking up speed to reach the hangar. Wanda covered the two, using her powers to hold up the tower a few minutes longer. She was clearly straining her power, not used to holding such a large amount of falling matter for such a long period of time. Steve, realizing that they were losing time with every second, picked up his pace even faster.
War Machine, who was lurking behind Wanda, landed on the ground. He then used his sonic call on Wanda, watching the girl grasp her ear from the pain of the call, losing control of the tower. The red residue of her magic began to fade away on the tower, fading as quickly as it had appeared.
The watchtower quickly began to fall, and Alison, close nearby with Wanda, raced over to the two. "We need to get you into that hangar eh?" She smiled, grabbing onto each of their hands. "I've got you." Alison pushed the two under the hangar, speeding over and sliding them under the tower. Steve turned back to give a thank you to the girl, but Natasha called his attention before he could do so.
"You're not gonna stop." Natasha addressed Steve, looking at him with a slight nod of recognition. She seemed sad yet also conflicted, and it made her look rather scary. Alison lingered behind them, but Natasha's eyes still fell upon her. She said nothing, just quirked an eyebrow at the girl.
"You know I can't," Steve sighed, tilting his head in a manner that was much like Natasha's. He wanted to look back at Alison when Natasha stared straight at the girl to make sure that she was okay, but before he could check Natasha spoke again.
"Then I'm going to regret this," Natasha sighed, holding up her arm in front of the three. All of them braced for the shock of her widow's cuff, but were surprised when she aimed behind them and shot the Black Panther sneaking up behind him. "Go." She strained out the words, inkling her head towards the jet.
Steve, Alison and Bucky ran off into the jet, while Natasha kept tasering Black Panther, keeping him at bay. When the quintet's back hangar finally opened, Alison watched both of them get on, waiting at the bottom of the deck. "You two go," she smiled, "Find that guy, I'm not going to be of much use."
"Aliso-" Steve protested, turning back at the sound of her voice. Bucky turned around out of pure respect, watching as the teenager waved goodbye to them as she informed them that she wouldn't be accompanying them.
"No," Alison interrupted, shaking her head. "All my snide marks aside, I have a brother at home I need to take care of. And I should probably get back within the next 24 hours other wise's my cousin is gonna kill me." She added, straying off of her point. "Go." Alison pleaded. Steve shut the door, obliging to Alison's wish, and Alison stepped away from the aircraft. "Bye Steve," Alison softly muttered, watching the plane take off.
Natasha stared at her. "That wasn't a very smart thing to do, you know. You should of just gone with them, and not stayed here. You're going to be locked up, you violated the Sokovia Accords." She regarded Alison, giving up on having the Black Panther over take the both of them.
"And going wasn't the greatest idea either." Alison shrugged, acknowledging (but not entertaining) the idea of her actually going withe Steve and Bucky to the base. "Besides, won't you be locked up too? You basically just violated the Accords yourself."
"Maybe." Natasha muttered, thinking for a minute. "But I won't let them take me. And they shouldn't take you either, you're- what? 15? You can't even violate the Accords yet." There was a moment of silence between the two, who both looked at each other for a second longer. "So now we're here, huh?" Natasha asked, watching the plane grow smaller and smaller in the air.
"Yeah," Alison agreed, hearing the plane zoom off and the people fighting down below scramble to fly up to stop the plane or protect the plane. The plane soon became but a tiny blip in the sky as it soared away to Siberia. "Now we're here."
