Chapter 6:
"Jessa! Wait!" I heard my name as I booked out of the bar and ran outside to the parking lot.
Shit.
I had no keys and Jax was still inside; I had no place to go. This was not happening. One day, one stupid flipping day back in town and I was already about to lose my mind.
"Fuck!" I jumped up and down while screaming. I grabbed my hair at the roots and pulled, trying to distract myself from my rage. I couldn't think clearly. The thick air felt like a solid wall around me and was pushing in, trying to suffocate me. Everything within my tunnel vision was blood red and I had no control over myself. I was in a blind rage with no anchor. There was nothing left to hold onto to bring me back down.
The bar door flew open behind me and Cameron paused for a second, looking around for me. I took off as fast as I could push my body. I saw the shadow of his long, lean body jump over the railing to dodge the steps to get to me faster. He stumbled a little when he landed on his feet which gave me a few seconds to break away from him. I ran around the side of the building to try to hide, knowing he would eventually catch up to me.
I sprinted into the alleyway to look for a magical portal to take me away from here. There was no place to go. In my desperation, I even considered jumping into the dumpster if I had to. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a recessed alcove a few feet ahead of me. I ran to duck behind the part that stuck out from the brick. As soon as I began to crouch down, his rough hands were around the top of my arms, pulling me to my feet. I was forced against the brick wall and there was nothing I could do to stop it. I was trapped between his hard body and the solid brick with no place to go.
"Jess, darling." Cameron's mouth was on mine hungrily like he was searching for air. He forced his tongue into my mouth and pushed his body harder against mine.
His hands were tracing every curve and inch of me he could find. He was sloppy and rough against me. His breath reeked of the gallons of alcohol he must have consumed tonight. He was an absolute mess.
I worked my hand free from his grasp and smacked him across the face as hard as I could. He stumbled back in shock and flexed his jaw while rubbing the spot I drilled. He stepped closer to me again and I shoved him away. I walked past him silently and stomped back towards the bar to go find Jax. I had nothing I wanted to say to Cameron right now. I know I told him to move on, but my feelings were still hurt seeing him with that girl. I set him free to find his happily ever after, not his little miss blowjob in a bathroom stall.
Not that seeing him with his one and only would be any different for me. I would still be jealous no matter who the girl was, even if she was amazing and treated him like he walked on water. Cameron was the only person I had ever loved and my feelings for him were never going to disappear completely. Even if I magically found a way to move on, he was going to still be the last thought I had before I closed my eyes every night and the first thing I thought about when I woke up. He had meant too much to me to ever really let him go.
He obviously didn't feel the same way about me.
"Why are you leaving?" He slurred, running up behind me.
"You're drunk and I just saw you in the bathroom with some girl with your dick in her mouth. Why do you think I am leaving?" I turned around, shrieking at him.
"And? What's your point? Darling, I have seen you with plenty of dicks in your mouth too." He smirked down at me.
"Fuck you." I swung my fist at him this time and he dodged me too easily. I swung the other fist and he batted it away. I tried a third time and he latched on to my wrist and pulled me closer to his body. Even drunk Cameron was quick on his feet. Screw him and his cat-like reflexes.
"Come back to my place tonight and I'll let you do whatever you want to me." He purred as he flipped a lock of my hair between his fingers.
I pushed him back from me. I was irrationally angry at him. Scratch that, I had every reason to be angry with him and the way he was treating me right now. He was not right in the head right now; he was wrong. This all felt so wrong.
"Who the hell are you?" I fought to hold back the tears threatening to spill out any second.
"What do you mean? You know who I am. I'm Cameron." He paused and looked like he didn't understand what I was asking him.
"No, you're not him. The Cameron I knew would never do or say those things to me." I wrapped my arms around my body to hold myself together. I couldn't let him see my weakness. I had to look like I was strong, even if it was all an act.
"That pathetic guy died the second you left him. Now, go get in my truck and fuck me or go away. I'm sure I can find someone else inside the bar who will if you won't." Cameron stalked towards me as I backed up. He placed his hand on my stomach and started forcing my body back towards his truck.
I clawed and smacked at his arms, but it wasn't doing any good. The dark look of determination on his face said that he wasn't going to give up easily. He was out of his fucking mind if he thought I was going to sleep with him after what I just witnessed.
"Hey Jess, there you are." Jax walked out the door. He was nuzzling up to the girl who walked by him before I went to the bathroom. They casually strolled down the stairs and headed in our direction.
Jax was transfixed by the girl and totally oblivious to the what was happening right in front of him.
"What are you out here for?" Jax asked suspiciously and then smiled when he realized it was Cameron who was standing next to me. "Oh hey, cheese puff. Long time no see. How have you been?"
"Hey, Jackass." Cam barked back at him.
"Whoa, someone got into the grumpy juice tonight. What's going on?" Jax tensed as he looked between us. He raised his eyebrow and cocked his head. He was finally looking at the situation in front of him and realized something about it was off.
"Your sister thinks she is too good to be with me now. She's going to go in the bar and let every other guy have their fun with her except me. She's been spreading her legs all over LA for her shiny new friends and now she's back here to throw it in my face." Cameron spat on the ground.
"Wait, your sister is Jessa Miller?" The girl on Jax's arm asked. "No way, can I get your autograph? You are incredible."
"Sure." I pulled my lips back in a fake smile. This was so not the time to ask.
"Cameron, you are not going to talk about my sister like that. You are going to apologize to her." Jax started puffing up and unwrapped little miss sunshine off his shoulder.
"Jax, just take me home." I sighed as I struggled to get between the two of them.
"What are you going to do about it, little boy?" Cameron said, sidestepping me to get to Jax. They were both nose to nose now. Both boys looked oversized and intimidating as they stared each other down with rage-filled expressions cemented on their faces.
"Keep going prick, and you'll find out," Jax said darkly.
"Your sister, Jessa Miller, will take dick from anyone she can," Cam said low and slow, leaning into his face.
Oh fuck, this wasn't going to go well.
